Aside from the Driedger interview, John, Andy, and Darren answered a whole bunch of questions from the Mailbag, which got plenty of great participation this week and leads to some spirited conversation. Before getting to those parts of the show, though, you'll get a breakdown of the three Kraken preseason games that have been played since the last episode, a discussion on who got sent down and/or waived by Seattle, and thoughts on who will make the opening night roster. After the Driedger interview, the show shifts to segments, which this week include Goalie Gear Corner, Weekly One-Timers, and Tweets of the Week. SUBSCRIBE! ENJOY! REVIEW!

Driedger also shares some valuable lessons from his first season in Seattle, and an expansion franchise that struggled out of the gate, including how his work with a sports psychologist helped him re-examine his pre-game preparation and ultimately simplify that process as part of a late-season surge he hopes to carry over once he's back. All that, plus our weekly plus a trip to The Hockey Shop Source for Sports for a closer look how to properly fit your chest protector, including the most common mistakes goalies make picking a size.

Seattle Kraken hockey is back! Jeff and Joey pound coffee and break down what went right and what went wrong with last night's game against the Colorado Avalanche. How Grubauer needs help from the team in order to stay hot, the fans singing along to Blink 182, McCann firing a laser from the boards, and what the hell is the difference between a deflection and a kicked puck are all discussed. The boys' go on to discuss Mardi Gras and explain why they've been eating so much King Cake, how they should plan a trip to Dallas to catch the Kraken face off against the Stars, and exactly what Mardi Gras Krewes are composed of and how it all ties into Mardi Gras Day. The boys also break down the comping road swing against the Dallas Stars and St. Louis Blues followed by the upcoming home games at Climate Pledge Arena versus the LA Kings and Chicago Blackhawks. Jeff segways into trade rumors and the possibility of dealing Mark Giordano and Chris Driedger is discussed before they go into #NoDumbQuestions which covers the +/- statistic in the NHL and exactly how relevant it is in the game which gives Joey an excuse to bring up Felix Hernandez and the Seattle Mariners after somehow thinking he saw a stat that showed Vladimir Tarasenko of the St. Louis Blues having a +/- of +150 on the season. Last, Hockey History with Jeff has him breaking down just how many international players we see in the NHL today, how that is drastically different from what the landscape looked like as early as two decades ago, and the story of Alexander Mogilny - a Russian hockey player who defected to the United States and risked his life to play in the NHL and why the "Miracle on Ice" in the 1980 Winter Olympics when the United States defeated the Soviet Union was such a big deal for the sport. COVID-19 might be shutting down the NHL, but it won't stop Jeff and Joey from bringing the holiday cheer. Welcome to the 1st annual Kraken Christmas! Jeff and Joey break down last week's games against the San Jose Sharks, Anaheim Ducks, and the Edmonton Oilers, both the good and the bad. The boys' pontificate on if there's an issue between the team and Grubauer and why it feels different when he's minding net versus Chris Driedger before Joey sounds off on Jeremy Lauzon and the issues he's bringing to the Seattle Kraken when he's on the ice. Moving forward, all of the games have been postponed with the exception of December 27th's match up at the Vancouver Canucks, for now. Next, for Kraken Christmas Jeff and Joey each share the three gifts that they would bestow upon the franchise at this point in time before sounding off on their five most hated Christmas songs of all time and why they should be banned from being played in any vicinity during the holiday season, or ever and Jeff shares an intimate story of drinking with Michael Bublé. #NoDumbQuestions covers the exact definition of boarding and how it's subjective and can change depending on many factors throughout a game and the boys' go on to explain the difference between a referee and linesman. Last, Hockey History with Jeff covers when the NHL used to have Christmas day games, why that ended, and what they would do if they were Commissioner. For those that celebrate, have a merry Kraken Christmas!
