Perception Vs. Reality: Our Reaction To The LEGENDARY Katt Williams Interview

Cultural Capacity™

Comedian Katt Williams shook up the internet last week with an astounding interview that reached 49 million + viewers on YouTube alone within the first week of publication. The astounding traction of this interview is enough for any creative, (especially those focused on teaching others about communication) to stop and take note! Why did this episode resonate so deeply with such a broad audience? As we normally practice sharing the stories of others with our "Featured Voices" interviews, we thought this was a perfect opportunity to showcase the concept of perception vs. reality! On this "mash-up" episode of the Cultural Capacity Podcast, join us for a juicy crossover with the Gonzalez Sisters (our other podcast, WIGIPEDIEA @sketchytherapy on YouTube)! Yes, that's right...Justine & Kara - sisters, business partners, and creators of The Cultural Capacity Podcast - have also been developing a sketch comedy channel + podcast! Our work with clients can get HEAVY, so, when giggles are hard to come by, we have used our love of comedy + chit chat & developed several wig-wearing characters on our alt channel (https://www.youtube.com/@sketchytherapy) to break down different pop culture observations that bring us joy (or just plain get under our skin) ! The Cultural Capacity Podcast is most known for our extensive professional trainings & discussions about developing ourselves and our communication with others. Bad communication can sink a relationship (personal or business) very quickly, while good (and truthful) communication is the foundation of any positive outcome in our relationships & professional endeavors! Why is this a crossover episode? We often utilize our sketch comedy channel to practice improv & public speaking! Creating an interesting narrative & effective communication of a narrative off the cuff takes practice, so what better way to practice this skill than sketch comedy & improv? (Our imrov experience also helps us bring levity to our in-person facilitation during some of our tougher topics of group work. When a room gets "heavy" it's always nice to be able to crack a joke and redirect!) Join us in this crossover conversation between communication & comedy as we discuss this very timely interview to start off our 2024! As a Senior Research Associate and School Improvement Specialist at WestEd, Aimee has an inside and outside perspective on underperforming schools. Growing up on the Southside of Chicago, she attended Chicago Public Schools when CPS was the "worst school system in the U.S." even though no one in her community knew so. In this episode, we have a conversation with Brad Klausman. Brad was raised to be a conservative Christian, abiding by a strict biblical moral code. Encouraged to become a minister, he attended Bible college, graduating with a Masters degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. After 20+ years of serving in full-time ministry, Brad began to question his belief system and the validity of the Bible. What began as doubts, grew into deal-breakers. "After several years of discovery, I walked away from Christianity completely in October of 2019. While I relished the freedom I discovered, my internal and external worlds were thrown into chaos. I found myself at 48 years old at reality ground zero. Now what? Over the past years, I have slowly rebuilt my reality in such a way that allows for questions, doubts, reflections, and most importantly, hope. There is hope for healing and happiness after breaking free from the chains of religion! I made it through the valley of this journey. Allow me to walk with you through this challenging journey. Obviously leaving religion brings stress and anxiety, including the loss of relationships, family, and community. These changes are, unfortunately, all too common. However, I discovered an innate potential within me to become the creator of my own destiny. With the right focus and empowerment, you too can seize this freedom and limitless potential." *RESOURCES* DONATE to the EducateME Foundation: https://www.educatemefoundation.org/donate/ *Educate ME Foundation, Inc. is a social enterprise determined to increase the number of men and women of color in the field of education. KunstlerCast - Suburban Sprawl: A Tragic Comedy

Join me and Chris Martenson on a journey through the swamps of financial lingo so we might all develop a clearer notion of all that jargon we hear and read everyday in the chatter-sphere of the Internet. Chris is a PhD biologist who dropped out of the corporate gerbil wheel a few years ago and produced a groundbreaking web seminar called “The Crash Course” which helped a lot of people understand how our banking system actually works. Chris himself does two weekly podcasts on his own website, PeakProsperity.com: the informal “Off The Cuff” show and the long-form “Featured Voices” podcast. The KunstlerCast music is “Adam and Ali’s Waltz” from the recording Waiting to Fly by Mike and Ali Vass.
