Newmark Security PLC (AIM:NWT) CEO Marie-Claire Dwek talked with Proactive about the company's strong start to its 2025 financial year and its growth prospects. Dwek highlighted key drivers, including revenue expansion at Grosvenor, the success of workforce management services, and increasing recurring revenue. She noted that recurring revenue from workforce management services grew 30% in the first half, with further growth expected. "As we've onboarded new customers, our existing customers are all taking services now. So that number is compounded and will grow as we grow as a business," she said. Dwek also discussed Newmark Security's international expansion, emphasising its presence in the UK, US, and Europe. She stated that over 50% of Grosvenor's revenue will come from North America this year. The company is also advancing its Direct-to-Enterprise (D2E) platform, recently signing an Oracle partnership and progressing with Workday and SAP. Safetell has seen extended contracts with major banking and retail clients, with investments in its service team contributing to growth. Dwek confirmed that Newmark Security's pipeline is larger than ever as it moves into the 2025/26 period. Looking ahead, investors can expect continued revenue growth, expansion of recurring revenue, and new distribution channels. "We'll be trialling and building a pipeline for DTE, selling direct to end users, which we've never done before," Dwek explained. Robert explains the importance of having a strong network that can be relied upon when a request is particularly challenging. Robert also gives our listeners an inside look into the International Clefs D'Or, (translated as The Golden Keys), a professional association of hotel concierges, with approximately 4000 members working in over 80 countries and 530 destinations, in literally every corner of the world. In 2009, Robert became the President of this prestigious organization and he has served this organization in other positions such as the Treasurer and Delegate for Great Britain. With roots dating back to 1929, Les Clefs d'Or was officially founded in France in 1952 as a not-for-profit organisation based on two pillars: Service and Friendship. Before earning the right to wear the golden keys, those who aspire to become a member must have several years of experience as a hotel concierge, pass comprehensive testing and prove, beyond doubt, their ability to deliver highest quality of service. Joining the Willard InterContinental Washington in February of 2006, Chef Concierge Robert Watson brings to the DC landmark hotel over 48 years of Concierge service experience accrued from working in properties all over the world. Prior to this, Robert has held Chef Concierge positions at the Grosvenor House Hotel, the Park Hyatt Carlton Tower, and the MayFair InterContinental Hotel in London England. He has also held this prestigious position at the Hotel InterContinental in Luxembourg, the Cape Sun InterContinental Hotel in Cape Town, the InterContinental Sandton Sun Hotel in Johannesburg both in South Africa where he aided in the hotel's opening. His duties during this time included creating hotel policy and procedure as well as the development of their training manual for all concierges, porters, doormen and drivers. In 2009, Robert became International President of Les Clefs d'Or. Robert has also held the positions of International Delegate for the Golden Keys of Great Britain and Treasurer of the Golden Keys of Great Britain in addition to being a member for over 40 years. He is currently an active member of the Les Clefs d'Or, USA. Fluent in four languages, including Spanish, French and Italian, Robert's international perspective began during his childhood where he was raised in both Uruguay and Costa Rica, and attended a French school before settling back in the United Kingdom to begin his illustrious career. Now based in Washington DC with his wife Paula and son Brooks, Robert Watson offers each guest an in-depth knowledge of Washington DC with a professional and pleasant demeanor.

While the great Italian renaissance painters and the Dutch masters are world famous, why are there so few British artists from this period leading the way? It's one of the questions the art historian Bendor Grosvenor examines in his new history, The Invention of British Art. From prehistoric bone carvings to the landscapes of John Constable, Grosvenor reassesses the contribution British artists have made at home and abroad. The writer and former curator at the V&A Susan Owens wants to turn our attention to drawing. It is a simpler, more democratic form of art-making, she argues in The Story of Drawing: An Alternative History of Art. And one that is a fundamental part of the creative process. She reveals what can be learnt by looking again at the sketches made by Gainsborough, William Blake and Tacita Dean. The artist Lucinda Rogers specialises in urban landscapes. She immerses herself in her environment and records straight from eye to paper. Her intimate street views explore the changing nature of cities, from London to New York. During the US Presidential election she travelled to different locations as a reportage illustrator. A reproduction of her first sketchbook, New York Winter 1988, has just been re-released. On this week's episode of The Publisher Podcast by Media Voices, we speak to Brandon Grosvenor, Chief Revenue Officer at Torstar Corporation, home of The Toronto Star. Over the summer, The Toronto Star became one of the first large publishers in North America to announce they were rolling out micropayments. It's a feature audiences frequently request - especially with the rise of paywalls - but for a myriad of reasons, few publishers have experimented with. Brandon discusses why they decided to try micropayments out alongside their subscription offering, the thinking behind their pricing and day pass strategy, and the challenges of audience growth in Canada. He also explains why he doesn't think micropayments will be a significant revenue stream, but still has an important part to play in a publisher's acquisition strategy. Send us a textAristocratic Legacy Shapes London's Luxury Property Market: Rich homebuyers in London are drawn to areas with a history of aristocratic landowners like Kensington and Chelsea, where estates managed by families such as Cadogan, Grosvenor, and Howard de Walden continue to attract interest despite a slump in luxury property sales. Continuous management preserves quality and boosts property values, unlike areas without dominant landowners.Build to Rent (BTR) Sector Adapts to Modern Renters' Needs: The BTR sector is becoming increasingly popular by offering flexible leases, high-quality amenities, and community-focused spaces that cater to modern lifestyles. Developments are often in prime locations and provide move-in-ready homes, making them a convenient and appealing choice for renters seeking flexibility and a sense of belonging.Non-Dom Tax Crackdown Affects Wealthy Homeowners: Wealthy individuals are selling prime properties and relocating abroad in anticipation of the UK's upcoming non-dom tax changes. This shift is impacting the high-end London property market, with notable sales like David Sullivan's £65 million Marylebone mansion highlighting the trend.Nationwide Eases Mortgage Rules to Aid Homebuyers: Nationwide Building Society has increased the salary multiplier for mortgages, allowing homebuyers to borrow up to six times their salary, which helps first-time buyers enter the market. The society also reduced mortgage rates, providing further assistance to those struggling with high house prices and the cost of living crisis.UK Property Market Faces Key Legislative Changes: New regulations, including the Renters' Rights Bill and potential increases in the Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) surcharge for overseas buyers, are set to impact the UK residential property market. The Renters' Rights Bill aims to increase tenant protections, while the SDLT changes could affect acquisition strategies for non-UK residents.Maximize your property wealth with London Property. Trevlig lyssning!

The highly anticipated "society wedding of the year" between Hugh Grosvenor, the 7th Duke of Westminster, and Olivia Henson took place Friday at Chester Cathedral in England. Despite windy conditions, hundreds gathered to catch a glimpse of the 33-year-old duke, the new 31-year-old duchess, and Prince William who served as an usher.Henson arrived in a vintage Bentley wearing a silk dress with a 6.5-foot train designed by Emma Victoria Payne, along with the famous Faberge Myrtle Leaf Tiara worn by Grosvenor brides since 1906. The crowd gasped as Olivia Henson's veil blew in the wind outside Chester Cathedral beforethe ceremony. There appeared to be "a slight struggle to get Ms Henson's dress and veil - designed by Emma Victoria Payne - under control." However, the bride-to-be eventually made her way into the church. Her dress featured "a sweet nod to her family - an embroidery design which incorporated floral motifs and edgings from Ms Henson's great-great-grandmother's veil from around 1880." She also wore "a pair of blue shoes" and the famous "Faberge Myrtle Leaf Tiara made for Grosvenor brides to wear on their wedding day, which has been in the family since 1906."Her bouquet contained "flowers picked from the gardens of the duke's family home, Eaton Hall."The dean who officiated the Anglican service noted in the program: "It remains our solemn duty to continue to honour the outstanding gallantry, service and sacrifice" of the duke's ancestors. After the ceremony, the newlyweds shared their first public kiss before celebrating with 400 guests at the Grosvenor family's historic Eaton Hall estate in Cheshire. The King did not attend, ostensibly for health reasons, although some suspect a message was being sent in response to reports that Camilla was poorly treated when attending the 2004 wedding of the Duke's sister, Lady Tamara Grosvenor, before her marriage to Charles. The Mirror reminds us that at that wedding, the late Queen Elizabeth was invited, as was the then Prince Charles and Camilla, although it was before the pair married. It was reported that Camilla's invitation came with the stipulation she could not sit next to Charles or arrive with him, due to the late Queen and Prince Philip also attending.According to a source to the Mirror :"Their Majesties have not forgotten what happened at the wedding of Hugh's sister. There is still a lot of tension that exists."Unlock an ad-free podcast experience with Caloroga Shark Media! Get all our shows on any player you love, hassle free! The Express noticed Harry is set to speak at the Invictus Games 10th Anniversary Service to be held at St. Paul's Cathedral on May 8.A copy of the official St. Paul's Cathedral schedule shows the Invictus Games event listed as taking place on Wednesday, May 8 at 5 pm.The Express further reports both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are listed as guests on the official running order and the Duke of Sussex is set to speak at the service. Get your popcorn ready.Another potential for a reunion between the brothers wil come in May.With invitations dispatched for Duke of Westminster Hugh Grosvenor's wedding, a society guessing game has developed as to whether Harry will attend the event in June..Sources report that Grosvenor, is staying neutral, maintaining a good relationship with both brothers, leaving it up to them to resolve their family drama. However, the home team could have an advantage as the Duke is godfather to Prince George, who could be a page boy on the big day in Chester Cathedral. And think about it, if you could have the future king in your wedding wouldn't you, just for the bragging rights?Royal insider Deep Crown weighed in on the situation, saying, "The Duke of Westminster's wedding presents a unique opportunity for the estranged brothers to come together and put aside their differences, if only for a day. The fact that Prince George, the Duke's godson, may play a role in the ceremony adds an extra layer of significance to the occasion." "While it is ultimately up to the princes to decide whether they will attend and how they will interact, the Duke's neutrality and the familial ties between the Grosvenors and the royal family could create a space for reconciliation. It remains to be seen whether Prince Harry will choose to attend in person or perhaps via video, as he did for the recent Diana Legacy Awards."
We have finally reached the end of our Land Before Time series! It's been a fun ride but the VHS direct to video series has reached it's end. The gang also has a huge announcement on the future of the channel and the video reactions! Just have to tune into the audio reaction tonight to find out what the announcement is. This is the first film in the series to be directed by Grosvenor, as well as the first film in which Anndi McAfee voices Cera (replacing Candace Hutson, the final remaining cast member from the first instalment), Aria Noelle Curzon voices Ducky, and Miriam Flynn voices Grandma Longneck. It is also the only film in which Brandon LaCroix plays Littlefoot; it is the first in which Thomas Dekker provides the singing voice for Littlefoot. Three songs for the film were written by Michele Brourman and Amanda McBroom, with music composed by Michael Tavera and the London Symphony Orchestra. One day, a swarm of "leaf-gobblers" descends upon the Great Valley, devouring all plants and reducing it to a barren wasteland. The inhabitants of the Great Valley have no choice but to find another place where they can survive until the plants have grown back. The dinosaurs then leave the Great Valley to go look for food. After days of not finding anything Littlefoot and his friends leave to go look for food themselves. They end up finding the ocean (Big Water), and they decide to sail across the Big Water to find food. They end up on an island with different plants they've never seen before. The next morning, the children wake up to the shadow of a Sharptooth, only to find that it is Chomper, the young Sharptooth who hatched in their care before returning to his parents in the second film. Since then, Chomper has learned how to speak. Chomper takes them to a safe refuge to hide from his parents. Unaware of Chomper and the others, a Giganotosaurus has been living on the island and begins hunting down the children. After finding a hideout, Littlefoot went back to the hideout, the Giganotosaurus from earlier finds and chases the children towards a cliff above the big water. Chomper tries to help, but is overcome by the Sharptooth. His parents come to the rescue on Chomper (and the same thing for the kids) and battle the Sharptooth near the edge of the island, during which he falls into the Big Water and takes Chomper with him, much to his parents' shock. Littlefoot plunges in to save Chomper while the Sharptooth is swept away by the current. Another swimming Sharptooth appears, but this time, they discovered an Elasmosaurus named Elsie who then saves them both from drowning. She returns them to the island, where Chomper's grateful parents promise never to eat the children; Chomper's father promises the same while grudgingly admitting that, after sniffing Spike (who had eaten some of the foul-smelling hideout), anything that smelt that bad wouldn't taste very good anyway. Chomper's mother also nuzzles Littlefoot, in gratitude for his actions to save Chomper from drowning. Cera realizes her mistake and accepts that not all Sharpteeth are so bad and monstrous as she thought. Elsie offers to take them across the sea, so Chomper and his parents happily bid them farewell, promising that they will see each other again. When they get back on the mainland, they find that the herd found a lush, green, little sanctuary on the shore where they can stay until the Great Valley has become fertile again. As the credits roll, the film shows when the Great Valley did, the herd returns home.

Elizabeth Browne is Managing Director and Co-Head, Elevate at GCM Grosvenor, where she works in the Sponsor Solutions division. She was previously Head of Entrepreneurship and Family Office Partners at RedBird Capital Partners and was a senior member of the investment team at DNS capital, a family office. She has held numerous board roles. Our far reaching conversation starts with Elizabeth's upbringing in Chicago and her family's history, in which glass ceilings were shattered and women were expected to have every opportunity that men had. We chart her course through college in Montreal and then her early roles in emerging markets including China. As a witness to corporate transactions amid the M&A boom in China we discuss lessons learned. This is a fascinating discussion which examines the customs of how business is done, the importance of viewing networking in a non-transactional way, and how, especially in emerging markets, improvisation is sometimes the order of the day. Championing the rights and causes of women and girls is a lifelong dedication for Elizabeth through both industry groups and NGO and charity work and we talk a little about the origins of this passion and how the cause has evolved. Moving back to her professional path, we speak then about the Grosvenor Elevate Platform, its seeding activities and the kind of opportunity set it perceives among Emerging Managers - which tend to be mostly first and second vintage funds that are below $1 bn. We end with a rousing reminder of the importance of industry networks, supporting eachother and being the change we wish to see. This is by far the most touching and emotional podcast I have had. Calvin a 17 year old new scuba diver saves a life of another on his first solo dive. In this episode of the Epigenetics Podcast, we talked with Janine La Salle from UC Davis about her work on differential methylated regions in autism spectrum disorders. In our discussion, Janine LaSalle highlights her work on the placental epigenetic signature, which offers insights into the impact of fetal exposures and gene-environment interactions during the perinatal period. She emphasizes the placenta's value as a surrogate tissue for understanding human diseases. Her research on DNA methylation in the placenta across different mammalian species reveals consistent patterns in partially methylated and highly methylated domains. She explains the critical role of higher methylation levels in specific regions for gene expression and how this knowledge helps trace the placenta's developmental history. The conversation then delves into Dr. LaSalle's research on the link between placental DNA methylation and autism. Through epigenome-wide association studies, she discovered a novel autism gene and explored the effects of prenatal exposures on DNA methylation profiles. Additionally, she discusses the impact of maternal obesity on offspring neurodevelopment. Ultimately, the goal of her research is to contribute to precision public health and preventative healthcare with epigenetic signatures offering high potential for predicting and preventing future health problems. “You can't have a symptom or a diagnosis, whether it's chronic or autoimmune, without having an imbalance in one, two, or three of these core systems.” - Stephanie GrosvenorWhen we're working towards optimal health, there are three core systems we need to focus on: the detoxification system, gut and digestive system, and immune system. While they are three different systems, they're very closely linked - when one is affected, there are knock-on effects on the other two.The good news is that once we start to heal one of these systems, you'll also see improvements in the other two.Today, I'm very excited to be joined by Stephanie Grosvenor, a holistic nutritionist and functional medicine Health Coach specializing in simplifying health for you so that you not only live a life that improves the way you look, live, feel, and age but one that you are excited to wake up to and live, every day.In this conversation, Stephanie and I discuss her health journey, the three core body systems that can help reverse thyroid autoimmunity, why you need realistic expectations in the healing process, how you can support and rebalance these systems, the role of stress management, sleep, and nutrient deficiencies in thyroid health, and more. Children of all ages are abused in every country in the world, by members of every society, culture, religion, and socio-economic class. About 120 million children under twenty, or one child in ten, report sexual abuse. We often blame children for their own abuse instead of holding the perpetrators responsible for their crimes. When perpetrators are prosecuted, punishments are rarely severe. Remarkably, we sometimes justify child sex abuse, or even facilitate it, allowing it to continue, not only in hidden places, but even in the open. PJ Harvey talks to Samira Ahmed about her new album, I Inside the Old Year Dying. She explains how her poetry and lyrics were influenced by the Dorset dialect and how the film-maker Steve McQueen helped her to find new inspiration. Benjamin Grosvenor wowed audiences for the BBC's Young Musician of the Year competition when he was just eleven years old and is now regarded as one of the most exciting pianists working today. As he prepares for this year's Proms, he performs in the Front Row studio and explains what drew him to the music he will play. Front Row is hearing from the museum's shortlisted for this year's Art Fund Museum of the Year award and tonight reporter Huw Williams is at the Scapa Flow Museum on the island of Hoy in Orkney. He hears about how the refurbished museum, which is named after the Scapa Flow body of water off the island of Hoy, reflects the area's wartime history. Benjamin Grosvenor — Schumann & Brahms (Decca) Jump to giveaway form New Classical Tracks - Benjamin Grosvenor by “They're so interconnected as figures and personalities. There are so many ways you can bring them together, because their whole lives are just interconnected in this wonderful way,” British pianist Benjamin Grosvenor says about his latest recording, Schumann & Brahms, which explores the fascinating relationship among Robert Schumann, Clara Schumann and Johannes Brahms. Can you tell us about the fictional character by E.T.A. Hoffmann that is the inspiration for the first track, Kreisleriana? “Johannes Kreisler was a romanticized idea of a tortured artist, a musician with really high ideals and obsessed with the music of Bach. A temperamental musician prone to mood swings and fits of inspiration and then depression. Robert Schumann identified with him as a figure. I mean, there were many similarities between them. The most substantial movement of the set is the second. He told Clara that this piece was about their lives together. This movement is intimacy, longing and love. “Clara only performed certain movements of it, and Franz Liszt did, as well. Although they admired the piece, they thought it was too much for the audience. I believe that Robert even suggested to Clara that when she plays the last movement, perhaps she should do a crescendo at the end so that the audience would applaud. The idea of a piece disappearing to pianissimo as it does was unusual for the time.” When you perform the work, do you do the pianissimo? “Yes. It's a magical effect. Everything dissolves, like in a puff of smoke.” Why did you choose Robert Schumann's Romance No. 2 for this album? “When they were married, he wrote these romances. Clara requested that he dedicate them to her, and she greatly admired this second piece. She said she knew of nothing more tender than this love duet. It remained a special piece for her throughout her life. It was the last piece she requested on her deathbed. A grandson played it for her.” Watch now To hear the rest of my conversation, click on the extended interview above, or download the extended podcast on iTunes or wherever you get your podcasts. Vertamae Smart-Grosvenor (1937-2016) was a multi-talented storyteller whose autobiographical cook book explored food, reclamation, and community.Food has been a unifier for millennia, not just gathering people together to share a meal, but acting as a warm introduction to new histories and traditions. This February on Womanica, we're celebrating Tastemakers - the Black chefs, cooks, and food historians who created new foodways and preserved important culinary stories of the past. The impact of chefs like Pig Foot Mary, Mama Dip, and Georgia Gilmore stretch far beyond the culinary scene - uplifting their local communities and inspiring those who came after them. History classes can get a bad rap, and sometimes for good reason. When we were students, we couldn't help wondering... where were all the ladies at? Why were so many incredible stories missing from the typical curriculum? Enter, Womanica. On this Wonder Media Network podcast we explore the lives of inspiring women in history you may not know about, but definitely should.Every weekday, listeners explore the trials, tragedies, and triumphs of groundbreaking women throughout history who have dramatically shaped the world around us. In each 5 minute episode, we'll dive into the story behind one woman listeners may or may not know–but definitely should. These diverse women from across space and time are grouped into easily accessible and engaging monthly themes like Educators, Villains, Indigenous Storytellers, Activists, and many more. Sometimes you have to start with a memoir (that you never publish) to figure out who you are and where you're going. Today's guest has a nice impressive bio—but 8 years ago, she was just a writer staring at a screen and working on, as many of us do when we first start, a memoir. Emily Grosvenor is the editor of Oregon Home magazine, Willamette Week's design publication Nester. She's also written for The Atlantic, Salon, Good Housekeeping, and others. But ALSO like so many of us, she started as a generalist, freelancing from the familiar “write what you know” place. New place, children, parenthood, cooking, trying to navigate finding adult life or living with a partner? Write about it.But a funny thing happened on the way to that memoir: She realized she didn't want to keep living in that space. And when the memoir didn't sell, Emily found the opportunity to write about something she really wanted to explore—and figured out how she fit into the market. Go behind the yellow border to meet the family that made National Geographic an American institution. Gilbert M. Grosvenor's 60-year career followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfather—but he learned that sometimes he had to do things his own way. In his new memoir, A Man of the World, Grosvenor recounts a crucial decision that made him rethink the way National Geographic covers the world. Grosvenor also shares an unforgettable conversation with Jacques Cousteau and how he witnessed Jane Goodall's transformation from unknown young scientist to, well, Jane Goodall. From his first day of work in 1899, Gil's grandfather, Gilbert H. Grosvenor, put National Geographic on the map.
