David Peck sits down with acclaimed actors Radha Mitchell, Ioan Gruffudd, and Bianca Wallace to discuss the tense new action-thriller Seven Snipers on Face2Face. Together they explore the film's emotional core, the psychology of survival, the lingering effects of trauma, and the complicated relationships that exist beneath the bullets and battlefield tactics. What begins as a gripping sniper thriller quickly reveals itself as a story about family, love, sacrifice, and redemption. The conversation touches on strong female characters, the realities of violence, PTSD, independent filmmaking, and why some films linger long after the credits roll. A compelling look behind the scope of one of this year's most intense action films.Seven Snipers brings together an impressive ensemble led by three accomplished performers whose careers span film, television, and independent cinema.Academy Award-nominated actor Radha Mitchell leads the film as Kris Hendricks, a retired elite sniper whose carefully constructed life is shattered when a ruthless enemy from her past resurfaces. One of Australia's most respected international actors, Mitchell is known for standout performances in Pitch Black, Finding Neverland, Phone Booth, Man on Fire, and Silent Hill. Throughout her career, she has built a reputation for portraying strong, complex, and emotionally layered characters, making her a natural fit for the heart of Seven Snipers.Joining her is acclaimed Welsh actor Ioan Gruffudd, whose extensive screen career includes memorable roles in Titanic, Black Hawk Down, King Arthur, Fantastic Four, Forever, and Harrow. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), Gruffudd has earned international recognition for bringing intelligence, warmth, and depth to every role. In Seven Snipers, he plays "Milk," a loyal former member of the sniper team whose courage and humanity become central to the film's emotional core. He is also the recipient of the Welsh BAFTA's Sian Phillips Award for Outstanding Contribution to Film and Television.Rounding out the trio is Australian actor Bianca Wallace, whose work spans feature films, television, voice acting, and producing. Originally from Queensland, Wallace first began performing as a singer before transitioning into acting, earning recognition for her award-winning work in Bloodline and other film projects. In Seven Snipers, she portrays Kaldayev, a skilled member of the elite team brought together to face an increasingly dangerous threat.Together, Mitchell, Gruffudd, and Wallace help elevate Seven Snipers beyond a traditional action thriller, grounding its intense action in themes of loyalty, family, sacrifice, and survival.David Peck is a writer, speaker, and award-winning podcaster who works at the intersection of storytelling, social change, and meaningful dialogue. Fr. Eric reflects on the film "Amazing Grace" (2006) starring Ioan Gruffudd in speaking about how peace is the fruit of responding to the call to go forth on mission. Major spoilers. This is a clip from a homily that Fr. Eric gave on Feb. 1, 2026 at St. James in Colgan, Ontario on the subject of the Beatitudes (Mt 5:1-12). Watch Catholic Latte on YouTube and Facebook. In 2015, ABC cancelled the supernatural crime-drama, Forever, but not before scheduling the show into oblivion. The network showed little support for the show from the very start, placing the Ioan Gruffudd led drama into a Tuesday at 10pm time slot, a historically tough time slot for ABC at the time. They then went on to start airing the back half of the first (and only) season on a very erratic schedule, never airing more than two episodes consecutively. All this, plus a genuine lack of purposeful marketing support, meant that ABC had doomed their own program to failure, and proved they only saw Forever as schedule filler, an absolute shame given its quality and scope.Note: the show's low initial broadcast ratings were somewhat overcome by strong delayed viewership numbers, but that delayed-viewing-performance was also ignored by the network.Sources: https://www.cancelledscifi.com/2024/05/31/why-was-forever-cancelled-and-can-it-be-revived/....Josh on Insta: @joshuacliston on Instagram.Josh on X: @joshuacliston on X/Twitter.Gonna Geek Network: https://www.gonnageek.com/show/on-the-bubble/

Grant Hardie is the co-founder of Monster Pictures, one of Australia and New Zealand's leading distributors of horror and genre films. In 2011, Monster Pictures birthed the darkly delightful Monster Fest, which has quickly become Australia's flagship horror and genre film festival. Now, in 2025, Monster Pictures, in partnership with Head Gear Films and White Hot Productions, have morphed into their next stage of evolution, launching Monster Pictures Studios, a full-service genre film studio which aims to work with Aussie creatives to bring genre films to life with the intention of becoming a defining force of Australian genre cinema. There's a giddy level of delight when you read a press release like this one, as if we're honouring the scrappy genre-roots of Aussie cinema, splashing back to the era of Ozploitation where anything was possible. While the Age of Ozploitation is over, that doesn't mean Aussie filmmakers can't birth a new movement, and hopefully Monster Pictures Studios is going to do just that.First films off the ranks includes the action-thriller Seven Snipers, directed by Sandra Sciberras, featuring Radha Mitchell, Tim Roth, Ioan Gruffudd, and Ryan Kwanten. Before Marvel struck it big with "Iron Man", they thought "Hey, how about that stretchy guy and rock man? People like them!" and they made 2005's "Fantastic Four".This here movie was a hit! They put a bunch of money into it and cashed in hard enough to warrant a sequel. But is it good? Is it actually boring and just not quite enough of anything? You've probably seen it, but if not, tune in and find out! Maybe you're a diehard Ioan Gruffudd stan? This week, it's time to clobber 2005's FANTASTIC FOUR! Just in time for their MCU relaunch in a few weeks, let's go back twenty years when Chris Evans was Johnny Storm instead of Captain America, and TV stars filled the cast list (Michael Chilklis! Julian McMahon!). Is this movie as bad as its reputation? How misguided is that “Sue Storm in her underwear” scene? Will Ryan determine how to pronounce Ioan Gruffudd? All will be revealed this week!
In this episode of SuperHero Homies, we continue our countdown to Fantastic Four: First Steps by diving into the 2005 Fantastic Four movie! As part of our ongoing Fantastic Four movie retrospective, we follow up our review of the 1994 unreleased cult classic by tackling this mid-2000s Marvel blockbuster featuring Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, and Michael Chiklis. We break down the major scenes and plot points, examine the character dynamics between Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm, and talk about how the film handled Doctor Doom. From the cheesy one-liners to the special effects of the time, we take a fun, lighthearted, and sometimes brutally honest look at what worked—and what didn't—in this early attempt to bring Marvel's First Family to life on the big screen. With our signature humor and in-depth comic book knowledge, this episode is perfect for fans of superhero movies, Marvel lore, and pop culture throwbacks.

In 1995, Michael Bay made Bad Boys and introduced us to the characters of Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowrey, played respectively by Martin Lawrence and Will Smith. Now 29 years later, they're back in the fourth Bad Boys movie, Bad Boys: Ride Or Die. Again it brings you some more intense action than you'd expect in a comedy but also of course the slap you in the face laughs you'd expect. Since it's all these years after the first movie, Marcus and Mike have much more complicated off-duty lives. However, that doesn't stop them from having to deal with some serious baddies. This time the baddies are trying to frame their dearly departed Captain Howard, played by Joe Pantoliano, and Marcus and Mike aren't having it. Plus, Captain Howard is trying to help them find the baddies involved from beyond the grave sort of speak. You get the gun fights, the car chases, the mid-air death-defying action sequences, the hard-edged comedy and some returning characters. Does it all add up to some riveting bad boy action or is the movie just plain bad? Check out this episode to find out that very thing. Bad Boys: Ride Or Die also stars Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Paola Nunez, Eric Dane, Ioan Gruffudd, Jacob Scipio, Melanie Liburd, Tasha Smith, Rhea Seehorn, Tiffany Haddish, DJ Khaled, John Salley, Bianca Bethune, Dennis Greene and Quinn Hemphill. Hey everyone, the fourth Bad Boys film - Bad Boys: Ride or Die - has hit theaters globally. I only got into this franchise a couple of years ago and admittedly, I am not really a super fan of the Bad Boys films like I am for some of my favorite action franchises like Mission: Impossible. That being said, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence's chemistry always keeps these films alive and entertaining no matter what. I've also become a pretty big fan of the directing duo Adil & Bilall, who directed the previous Bad Boys film (BY FAR the best of the franchise up to that point), the best episodes of Ms. Marvel and the, unfortunately, canceled Batgirl film. So, does Bad Boys: Ride or Die serve as another solid entry in the franchise or is it staring to show signs of running out of gas? Find out in this review! Bad Boys: Ride or Die: Directed by: Adil El Arbi, Bilall Fallah Written by: Chris Bremner & Will Beall Based on Characters Created by: George Gallo Produced by: Jerry Bruckheimer, Will Smith, Chad Oman, Doug Belgrad Executive Producers: Barry Waldman, Mike Stenson, James Lassiter, Jon Mone, Chris Bremner, Martin Lawrence Music by: Lorne Balfe Cinematography by: Robrecht Heyvaert Editing by: Asaf Eisenberg, Dan Lebental Casting by: Lindsay Graham, Mary Vernieu Production Design by: Jon Billington Cast: Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Paola Nuñez, Eric Dane, Ioan Gruffudd, Jacob Scipio, Melanie Liburd, Tasha Smith, Rhea Seehorn, with Tiffany Haddish and Joe Pantoliano Synopsis: After their late former Captain is framed, Lowrey and Burnett try to clear his name, only to end up on the run themselves.
For this week's main podcast review, Giovanni Lago and I are reviewing the fourth entry in the "Bad Boys" franchise with "Bad Boys: Ride Or Die," starring Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Paola Núñez, Eric Dane, Ioan Gruffudd, Rhea Seehorn, Jacob Scipio, Melanie Liburd, Tasha Smith, Tiffany Haddish & Joe Pantoliano. With Adil & Bilall returning to direct following the success of "Bad Boys For Life," the film is the second major release for Smith since the Oscars slap and is arriving at a time when the summer movie box office needs a boost. What did we think of it? Tune in as we discuss the story, Smith and Lawrence's chemistry, the action, the comedy, and more in our SPOILER-FILLED review. Thank you for listening, and enjoy! Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire is exactly what you think it would be- large beasties in a slugfest with other large beasties with a humungous death toll to civilians in the city as buildings crumble from collateral damage. There's an evil monkey with a bone whip, an ancient Ice Titan and many other terrors to keep our bromance duo busy. Gary Hawes has directed multiple episodes of the most-watched television drama series on the planet (ABC's hit drama, The Good Doctor). He's also the director of some critically acclaimed indie projects, including the comedy Leap 4 Your Life, a feature-length mockumentary about a community dance competition starring some of our local industry's finest, and The Charlie Da Clown Show, a trippy short about the behind the scenes shenanigans of a talk show hosted by a washed up clown named Charlie. Gary has also directed short films featuring big, bold actors like Alan Cumming and Ioan Gruffudd, worked as a 2nd AD on some big, bold films like Sucker Punch, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and Interstellar, and worked as a first AD on big, bold, beloved projects like Once Upon A Time and Cedar Cove. In this fascinating and at times funny episode, director Gary Hawes discusses the The Good Doctor, special memories from the making of X2: X-Men United (Sir Ian McKellen makes great pancakes!), directing for TV vs. directing films, directing “undirectable” actors, and the project that changed it all for him: Gretzky Saves Christmas, the school play he wrote, directed, and starred in at the age of 10. Ridley Scott's terrific depiction of the events of the Battle of Mogadishu kicks off Operations week as we watch 2001's BLACK HAWK DOWN. I thought I was being so clever picking this, with the disastrous events of Operation Gothic Serpent in which US troops extracted General Mohamed Farrah Aidid from the Somali capital at a terrible human cost providing the backdrop to a memorable scene of impromptu battlefield femoral artery surgery. If I'd patted myself on the back any harder at the idea of picking a movie that featured a memorable operation within a memorable operation I'd have broken my own spine so naturally when a listener offers up an example of an operation within an operation within an operation for us to discuss in this week's main episode it crushed my fragile ego to oblivion. Bravo listener! Also bravo to Ridley Scott, who delivers up a still spectacular looking by today's standards action masterpiece with an incredible cast of, well, too many to mention really but Tom Sizemore, Eric Bana, Ewan McGregor, Orlando Bloom, William Fichtner, Jason Isaacs, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Jeremy Piven, Ioan Gruffudd, Sam Shepard, Ewen Bremner, Ashton Kutcher and Tom Hardy debuting here as 'Thomas'. You can see the influence this had on video game franchises, with everything from its saturated colour palette to its pro-military but anti-war themes copied comprehensively in first person shooters. Another strong recommend from the Dads. We love to hear from our listeners! By which I mean we tolerate it. Fantastic! Four? How could this be bad, it's got fantastic in the title 4 times! One is stretchy, and one is invisible, and then this other guy is all fire-y, and then there is also the rock guy who is all rocky and such. Oscar and Carl watch this 2005 classic (not batman) to figure out who would watch this.
Hey Meanwhile Listeners it's another edition of our watch along commentary tracks, and for this one. We chose the original big screen Fantastic Four film. You know the one where Captain America plays the Human Torch, Dark Angel plays Sue Storm and the Commish/Vic Mackie plays the Thing. Oh and Ioan Gruffudd is Reed Richards. As always we crack some jokes, but this time Ryan showed up with some interesting facts about the movie, you aren't going to want to miss these. So head over to D+ and let's have a fantastic time together
