With Jeff Dorgay of TONEAudio. Naim's Uniti Atom could be the poster child of the modern hi-fi age: a small 40wpc integrated amplifier with probably the best volume control in the world that streams every which way: aptX Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay, Googlecast, UPnP and Roon; plus Internet radio and Tidal through Naim's own app. The Uniti Atom is the perfect platform from which to discuss how we stream music in the home and the perfect starting point for the seventh Darko.Audio podcast, the second with TONEAudio's Jeff Dorgay. The podcast ending I also had pre-planned: a hat tip for Nathan Fake's mind-blowing Dekmantel podcast that runs rings around his latest album, Providence. The Uniti Atom's Googlecast support brings SoundCloud into the audiophile picture where it rightly belongs. However, at 80 minutes, the seventh Darko.Audio podcast is also the longest (and probably best) episode to date. In between Naim and Nathan, Dorgay and I discuss how Spotify Connect works, the limitations of Apple AirPlay, the differences between Tidal and Qobuz, hifi review methodologies, "Musicality", Tidal's promotion of hip-hop / RnB, the LG V30 smartphone, our latest favourite gear and the importance of coloured finishes. [125] appeared first on Low Battery.

You may mock the United States with its late November traditions of athletes playing their hardest in a sport prone to cause major head trauma, storing leftover turkey, beans, potatoes, stuffing and pie for up to a week after the family banquet of political fissures and... Black Friday. We're not going to talk about those things. Since we're getting off of that gravy train ourselves, we'll keep it tight, keep it cozy and keep it quick with questions from our mailbag and social media and a few bits of housekeeping to take care of — like the basic fabric of what's keeping the internet usable by consumers here in said united states. This week on the SyrupCast, Igor Bonifacic, Rose Behar, Sameer Chhabra, and Patrick O'Rourke sit down to talk Apple reviews and get Frank about phones. Patrick was at the Apple keynote recently and had the chance to check out all of Apple's new devices: the iPhone 8, the iPhone 8 Plus, the Apple Watch Series 3 and the Apple TV 4K. He sits down with the team to discuss his thoughts on the new devices and where Apple may be headed. Two young entrepreneurs in Ottawa found themselves in a bit of hot water recently after taking credit for designing a phone that was actually just a rebranded device purchase from Alibaba. Rose brings us a story about the Frank phone and sheds some light on both sides of the controversy. Finally, everyone's favourite part of phone announcements -- the leaks that tend to preempt them. The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL designs have hit the web in advance of their official unveiling. The Syrupcast crew weighs in on the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL's rumoured new look Tune in to hear the SyrupCast team's thoughts.

Scott Carey necessarily tries to get his pronunciation game on fleek to deliver the latest Uber news - there's a new CEO in town, and it isn't a woman. Should it have been? He tells Henry Burrell what's next for the company. Then roles are reversed as Henry updates Scott on the Galaxy Note 8, LG V30 and September 12's very own iPhone 8 - will it be called that? On this episode of the Droid Life Show, I'll just suggest that you strap in because we're about to dive into it all. And when I say "all," I mean the past two weeks worth of Android and tech madness that included more news than any normal human can possibly handle. We saw Android Oreo go official shortly after the total solar eclipse before hitting AOSP and Pixel and Nexus devices. Seriously, the update is already out! But on top of that, the Galaxy Note 8, LG V30, Moto X4, Nest Thermostat E, and Google Assistant-powered speakers were all unveiled during IFA. Oh, we have an Essential Phone in house now too. And finally, Verizon changed up its unlimited plans and pissed everyone off.
What does the Essential Phone, the Honor 9, the LG V30, the iPhone 8, the Google Pixel 2, the Galaxy Note7, the Galaxy Note FE, the Galaxy Note5, the Galaxy Note Edge, the Galaxy Note4, the Galaxy Note3, the Galaxy Note2 and the Galaxy Note8 have in common?
