The hardest thing to do sometimes is keeping things simple. Our tendancy is to over complicate, becuase it makes us feel like we have more control....more variables to hold on to, right?! There are always going to be things you can add, always things you can change… but how can you deliver something in a way that is not over complicated? Sometimes the work is letting go. Letting go so that you can show yourself that it can be easier, that it can be simpler, that you know what you're doing. You don't have to grab on so tightly to all these external things to help you FEEL like you have more control... Join me for my Package Your Expertise masterclass (workshop style) with LIVE coaching/mentoring…you can ask anything and we'll brainstorm ideas specifically for you! And it's free. You'll leave with a fresh perspective and ideas to act on right away
This has come up more than once in conversations I've had. It can keep you stuck in fear mode, which then keeps you from talking about your ideas and showing up at all. And that's the irony, because you WANT to shout it from the rooftops, but you're so afraid that someone else might take your idea if you start planting the seeds, so you keep it to yourself... Tune into hear a little real talk to guide you through this thought that might be creeping in and holding you back from talking about the very thing that you know could be just what your 'perfect fit' clients need. --- **Nuture and connect with your 'perfect fit' clients, instead of just showing up when you have something to sell. Kristyn lives in New Hampshire with her husband, kids and dogs. She started Wash Street with her co-owner Laura four years ago, and their goal is to make laundry services as accessible as meal kits, house cleaning and oil changes. Kristyn remembers struggling to get ahead in her household. She identified laundry having the most pickups and putdowns and decided to outsource the service. She tried to find a company to outsource this service to and couldn't find one so she decided to start one. When her kids were young she bought a laundromat and right before the pandemic it started to grow. They were able to stay open as an essential business. They've been on a growth streak and have dealt with capacity constraints. They offer pickup and delivery services for their customers in addition to standard laundromat services. The most profitable customer is outside of the city and generally has large families. One of her growth goals is to service and support the customers outside the city. Brooke and Kristyn talk about how important outsourcing has been for both of their businesses and how their own companies started from a need they identified in their own lives. They also discuss Kristyn's greatest challenge, favorite quote, her biggest failure and how she learned from it. During the slow season, she is surveying and trying to gather information on potential contacts and future clients for the beginning of 2022.

Hey hey! It's a BONUS episode! I did things a little backwards--I recorded the episode on "fake it til you make it," and THEN I went into my Facebook group as well as the Don't Keep Your Day Job group and asked people's opinions on the topic...and I should've done that first because there were SO MANY comments! So I decided to hop into my group live, and record it as a bonus episode for the podcast! Minimal editing on this one--I left in all my weirdness and just cleaned up some of my pauses. =) How do YOU feel about "fake it til you make it"? If you didn't get your thoughts in, you can still hop into the group and join (or restart) the conversation! Want to join in on that 21-Day Mindfulness and Meditation Challenge I mentioned?
