Glenn PP Milligan is a name you've heard if you were a part of my generation, the generation before me, or the generation after me. He's made more BMX full length videos than you've made Instagram montages. The best part is he has a great memory and recalls some incredible stuff in this episode. I tried to take it as a learning opportunity to understand what was important for us to remember from the 90s and 2000s, and it was incredible to hear some BTS stories about Dave Mirra and The Gonz. Really hyped on this one. I was pleasantly surprised with how easy he was to talk to and how humble he is considering the tremendous impact he's had in BMX. I also admire how he kept/keeps progressing and doing different shit and isn't afraid of something being goofy as long as he's trying something new. Sometimes you're just born with it. At least that's how it feels with the current G.O.A.T. of BMX lifestyle, Nigel Sylvester. Nigel was just a toddler on his little red tricycle when he was drifting around cones set up as race course by his cousin on his driveway. Admiring and modeling the great Dave Mirra growing up, Sylvester went pro at age 18 and was recruited by Mirra to rep his team. Flashforward 18 years later and Sylvester is still going strong but has expanded his brand into events, fashion, art, books and more. Nigel Sylvester is the new BXM icon for young up-in-comers to model. He's a great example of someone in constant pursuit of dreams, riding all around the world, while also keeping it real with his roots deeply planted in Queens NY. Support the show

In this episode of our Mind On The Game series, we checked in with Alex Kihurani. Alex is a co-driver in the World Rally Championships (WRC) who currently competes in a Citroen car for the Sainteloc team and has been competing for 20 seasons. Alex started competing as a co-driver when he was just 16 years old and debuted in the WRC when he was 25 years old. Alex combines his job as a co-driver with a role in finance and data analytics. In this episode we discuss his journey into motorsport, from being inspired by his dad who was originally from Kenya and then moved to America, to Alex's move to the UK 10 years ago. We discuss the adrenaline rush of the races themselves, what impact Colin McRae had on commercialising the sport and bringing it into the mainstream and the psychological profile of co-drivers including Alex and the type of person it attracts. For Alex's mental health, we discuss his parents difficult divorce, his diagnosis of Crohn's disease and how he developed resilience and antifragility after the divorce. Alex was also diagnosed with leukaemia in 2015 and we discuss that treatment process and how he was able to thankfully live a fully and happy life after his diagnosis. We finish by discussing the birth of his daughter who was born 13 weeks premature, fatherhood and three periods of grief that Alex experienced from the motorsport world: His mentor in a motorcycle crash, his best friend from university who took his own life and one of his childhood heroes and drivers he worked with Dave Mirra. We spooze all over these questions and more as we watch Season 5, Episode 12 of Family Matters.Alex Diamond, David Kenny, and John McDaniel heard that the long-running network sitcom Family Matters ends with side character Steve Urkel going to space. For over 20 years, Jamie Bestwick reigned as one of BMX's most decorated athletes in the history of the sport. Since competing in his first X Games in 1996, he's won 14 gold medals at the event, including in nine consecutive years. In 2005, he won every single event in which he competed. Now he's found a new outlet: gravel racing. In this conversation, Jamie tells Payson about his harrowing experience racing at Unbound Gravel earlier this year, including what made him complete the 206 miles in spite of nearly quitting halfway through, and why he can't wait to do it again next year. They also talk about his BMX career and the tradeoffs he had to make to be the best in the world. They discuss the dark side of achieving athletic greatness, and the tragic passing of his friend and competitor, Dave Mirra. Jamie also tells Payson about coaching Team GB BMX rider Charlotte Worthington to victory at the Tokyo Olympics earlier this year, and explains why her surprise upset of American superstar Hannah Roberts was actually the result of a carefully calculated strategy.
In this Weeks episode Dean and Barrister Michael discuss the insane PR practices of ex video game company Acclaim, the Moral and legal quandary of relationships whilst undercover and finally the undercover cops who tried to arrest other undercover cops (there may also be brief mention of Mouse trap and Cocaine Bears)
This week we power-skid onto the scene with a throwback from the era of Extreme Sports Games! But they can't ALL be Tony Hawk. Instead, we look at the BMX competitor to Acclaim's reign with Dave Mirra: Freestyle BMX 2. "Why didn't we do Matt Hoffman: Pro BMX?" you may ask. That's a GREAT question. And for answers we turn to friend of the show Ramona for their take on what made this game special. Before taking to the ramps, we talk about The White Lotus, The Suicide Squad, and consider which Extreme Sports games the world still needs. Plus: is Mikey a "Gameinizer?" Josh moved to Greenville, NC when he was 17 to pursue a career as a pro-BMX athlete and to ride with the best riders in the world, including Dave Mirra. In 2009, Josh won his first pro contest as well as the best trick contest, winning him a brand new Harley Davidson motorcycle. Following the big win, Josh made his first X-Games appearance and continued competing in the Dew Action Sports Tour (2007-2013). In March of 2010, a hard crash on his bike led Josh to the hospital in fear of a traumatic brain injury (TBI). After almost a year of migraines, bouts of temporary blindness, and being repeatedly told that nothing was wrong, an MRI to rule out a concussion revealed a mass taking up the entirety of the left side of his brain. At the young age of 21, Josh faced mortality. In April of 2010, Josh underwent surgery to remove a brain tumor taking up the entire left side of his brain. This was a major turning point in his life putting him on track to learning about nutrition and taking better care of his body. In November of 2012, Josh had Gamma Knife Radiation treatment to treat two new tumors. This was another eye-opener for Josh and his health, which led him to research holistic health and nutrition even deeper. With his experiences with brain tumors and injuries, Josh became very passionate about learning about food and the correlation to our health and wellbeing, as well as sharing information with others in hopes of helping them become well. In February of 2014, Josh enrolled in the world’s largest nutrition program, the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. In February of 2015, Josh completed the program to earn a certification as a Holistic Health Coach to further his efforts in sharing information with others and helping them achieve their goals with their health and wellbeing. In April of 2015, Josh launched www.DailyBrainstorms.com to share his story, and passion with the world and in October of 2016, Josh founded the Josh Perry Foundation as his way to give back to the world. Josh continues to ride BMX at a professional level today, despite living with four brain tumors, and works extremely hard to stay fit, healthy, positive, and driven while sharing as much as he can with the world. Our third compilation episode features the defining genre of the early 2000s, extreme sports. We bring on friends of the show Gavin Brown and Victor De Jong for their extensive knowledge and memories of these games. From motocross titles such as Jeremy McGrath Supercross World and MX Superfly to snowboarding games like Dark Summit and SSX Tricky, as well as games by competing BMX legends Dave Mirra and Mat Hoffman. We even brought back Marty Thompson to cover his favourite franchise and talk a little about Disney Sports Skateboarding. But make sure to listen in at 41:12 to Neil reading the back of BMX XXX, a game that honestly belongs more on "How Did This Get Made" than here. For the rest of the games skip to the end to hear Neil sit by the fire and read out the back of each case while you listen to your favourite nu metal tracks.

This episode is near and dear to our hearts. About a year ago, Josh lost his brother, Danny. We had to come together as partners and a family to cope and figure out what our lives were going to look like continuing forward. The weekend before this was filmed, Jackie and her community experienced the loss of a student. With heavy but optimistic hearts, they recorded this episode in hopes that it would help anyone in a similar situation, let them know they are not alone, and assure them that what they are feeling is normal. Death is never black and white and there's no right way to grieve. In loving memory of those we have lost. We love and miss you. I always thought one of the coolest things about BMX freestyle is that you could be different, and still be accepted. You could be yourself and it didn't matter. The term freestyle literally means, do whatever you want, and that’s exactly what Matt Beringer has always done. In the mid-2000s at a time when the X Games was on the come up, growing bigger and bigger each year, and sponsors were more and more concerned with gold medals and tv coverage to create relevancy, amongst the factory superstars was a rider with a completely different mindset. Not only was Matt unique, he's one of the only guys who could have a flatland session, then blast the biggest dirt jumps, find one of the most unique lines in the skatepark, and hit the gnarliest handrail he could find, all in one day. In the recent S&M book release, there was a quote that was used back in the year 2000 when Matt was first asked by Chris Moeller to ride for S&M. QUOTE "S&M Bikes is proud to sponsor Matt Beringer. No rider past or present has done a better job of representing everything this company stands for. Here's to acting like a kook, horses that puke, and hot pants stuffed with sausage. Let's hear it for heavy metal, grinding on the pedal, and rocking a mullet. On a pit bike, in a full pipe, or in an idiotic ad that rhymes... it's all about riding bikes and good times". We caught up with Matt the other day and talked about his numerous appearances on Props and Road Fools during the mid 2000s, competing in X Games dirt, how he became known as the front flip guy, his section in the Little Devil video Criminal Mischief, the first time he saw Dizz Hicks, riding and growing up with Tim Fuzzy Hall, his backyard ramp setups, riding for S&M bikes for almost 20 years, coming up with crazy tricks, his background as a machinist, and Dave Mirra riding his signature S&M Beringer bars. So get comfortable, crank up your speakers, and get to know one of the most fun riders to ever do it on two wheels... Matt Beringer!

If you've ridden BMX in the past 35 years, there's a good chance you've either ridden a Haro or know someone who has. The company was founded in 1978 by Bob Haro. Bob started out producing number plates for BMX bikes in his home. While the company was gaining popularity, Bob was also growing the brand new sport of BMX freestyle. The BMX boom was in full swing and the company built a reputation for developing innovative, top-of-the-line freestyle bikes and accessories. In addition to Bob himself, many of the sport's biggest names have ridden for the Haro brand including, Mike Dominguez, Joe Johnson, Rick Moliterno, Brian Blyther, Dennis McCoy, Mat Hoffman, Dave Mirra, Chad DeGroot, Ryan Nyquist, Dennis Enarson, Chad Kerley, and Matthias Dandois. Back in 2011, Haro had come to a crossroads as it was losing steam to remain relevant in the BMX industry. In addition, the company was searching for its next leader to help the brand return to prominence. Who better than the man known as "Scottish John" to take the reigns. After all, he was the most enthusiastic person anyone has ever met when it comes to Haro bikes. John took over the job back in 2012 and put Haro back in the fast lane almost immediately with a variety of throwback signature bikes, the Haro Lineage componentry line, and repop frames and complete bikes like the Master and Sport that brought many mid-80s Haro fans back to BMX. John grew up in Glasgow Scotland, and after an extremely traumatic childhood, he moved to Australia to pursue a BMX career and more recently moved to the United States to run the brand he loves most. A lot has happened along the way and John has lived an interesting and at times difficult life, to say the least. In fact, he has a full-length movie being released based on his life simply called, Ride. Most of the interviews John's done lately are more about his movie and life story than anything else. However this time around we wanted to focus on John's passion not only for BMX but for Haro as well. In addition we talked about how the movie E.T. made a huge impact on his BMX career, his first BMX bike, his own BMX company called Pilgrim, his massive Haro collection and which bike he loves the most, which components were the hardest to find to complete certain bikes, creating and releasing the Haro reissue bikes, what Dave Mirra meant to the brand, why he decided to sell most of his BMX collection, what's next for Haro, and what it takes to be the brand manager for one of the most iconic brands in BMX. So get comfortable, crank up your speakers, and get to know the main man behind the Haro brand... John Buultjens!

When you think of the biggest names in X Games BMX Park history two names stand out above everyone else, Dave Mirra and Scotty Cranmer, both of which won a total of 9 medals in BMX Park. Scotty has won gold, silver, and bronze 3 times. To get to that level you have to push the bounds of reality pretty far, which means taking some serious risks. Back in 2016 risk became reality when Scotty suffered a life-threatening injury while riding street in Las Vegas. The crash left him with several facial fractures, cerebral hemorrhaging, and damage to his C4 and C5 vertebrae, as well as many other health issues. Most notably his doctors diagnosed him as being paralyzed. This is where Scotty's story really begins. While he's most known for doing some of the craziest tricks ever on a BMX bike, had several amazing video parts over the years, a YouTube channel with over over 200 million views, he's most well known these days for pulling off his biggest trick to date, overcoming being told he was paralyzed and would never walk or ride his bike again. We talked to Scotty about life and riding before the injury, some of his X Games runs, being tied with Dave Mirra for most BMX Park medals in X Games history, getting his hugely popular YouTube channel off the ground, the ups and downs of being stuck in the hospital, having a portion of his skull removed, what it felt like standing up for the first time since the injury, and how close to death he truly was. Scotty talked about where's he's currently at with his recovery, how far he thinks he can come back, the challenges he still goes through daily, support from family, friends, and even complete strangers, and becoming a tv announcer for the X Games. One of the most important things about Scotty's journey is the amount of hearts he touched and the people he inspired during his rehab while documenting every step of his critical comeback for his YouTube channel. Scotty truly is a story of perseverance and overcoming the unthinkable. So get comfortable, crank up your speakers, and get to know a true BMX legend during this very special episode... Kevin Pearce grew up in Vermont with three older brothers who were very into snowboarding from a young age. Like any younger brother would, Kevin wanted to join in on the fun and tried to copy what his older brothers were doing and compete with them. Kevin eventually turned pro and began beating the worlds most renowned snowboarder in competitions, Shaun White. During our interview, Kevin talked about how he struggled tremendously in school because of dyslexia and found snowboarding as an outlet where he can succeed and ultimately make money. However, Kevin would be the first to admit that his entire identity was wrapped up in the sport of snowboarding (sounds like another Kevin you may know...). Like in many of the interviews I have done with successful athletes, it is almost necessary to fully immerse yourself in a sport if you expect to become elite. The problem comes when your sport is ripped away from you and its out of your control. It's a shitty feeling to say the least and it happens to almost every athlete at some point in their careers. In ideal situations, athletes career's come to an end on their terms. However, you can't control what happens to you as an athlete, especially when it comes to injuries. In the high stakes world of extreme sports, even at the peak of success, you never know when your last run might be. For Kevin Pearce, it was on December 31, 2009 in Park City, Utah after he crashed hard while attempting a new trick on the halfpipe. Complicating matters was the concussion he sustained a week prior in Copper, Colorado at the first olympic qualifier of the season. He chose to hide his symptoms because he didn't want anyone to tell him he couldn't snowboard (also sounds like another Kevin you may know...). Like myself, Kevin also suffered from Second Impact Syndrome after the December 31st crash and was put in a medically induced coma. He then spent 36 days in critical care until he was eventually transferred to Craig Hospital, which is a rehabilitation hospital that specializes in treating patients with traumatic brain injuries. Kevin made a miraculous recovery, but hasn't yet to make it back to the level he once competed at and says he is reminded of his brain injury everyday because of his residual symptoms. I watched The Crash Reel (featured above) prior to my conversation with Kevin and I was blown away. I recommend that anyone and everyone watch it because it shows the importance of a strong support system for any injured athlete and why you should listen your support group. This film takes you through Kevin's early life/snowboard career and his injury/rehabilitation. In addition it bring's you into Kevin's tight knit family and what they were feeling during and after Kevin's traumatic brain injury. All throughout Kevin's rehabilitation, he had the goal of returning to snowboarding, despite multiple doctors advising him not to. This drive to never settle for average pushed him to get better faster, but it also worried his family, especially his brother David who has down syndrome. The Crash Reel Starring Kevin Pearce, Shaun White What a great family! Check out The Crash Reel to find out what I'm talking about! In addition to the compelling depiction of Kevin's family, the film is great for athletes who are coming to grips with a new normal that may or may not include their sport. When Kevin did eventually try to snowboard for the first time, he quickly realized that he was nowhere near the level he once competed at. During our interview Kevin talks about his decision to continue snowboarding, while stepping away from competitions and how he does that smartly and safely. In addition he talks about the various ailments he continues to battle and what he has done to try to improve his symptoms, especially the troubles he's had with his vision. You can download the documentary on iTunes or on The Crash Reel's website. iTunes : The Crash Reel Store: The Crash Reel Similar to how I felt compelled to create this podcast, Kevin and his brother Adam created the LoveYourBrain Foundation, which is a non-profit organization that works to connect, educate and empower people to live a brain healthy lifestyle. Through yoga, meditation and mindfulness programs, LoveYourBrain helps improve lives, creating community and optimizing health for everyone they reach. During our interview we discuss the benefits of yoga and ways to LoveYourBrain everyday. Since recording this interview back in September, I have taken up a yoga practice for the first time. I have really enjoyed it and I hope this episode inspires both athletes and non-athletes to explore the countless benefits yoga can bring to your life. I have found it to be a great de-stresser in addition to supplementing my knee rehabilitation. Some additional topics we discuss are the impact Dave Mirra's death has had in the extreme sports community and what Kevin's advice is to snowboarders and all athletes for loving their brain's. Or: Count Chocula Moved to Canada for Love This episode we talked to an artist, a programmer, studio owner and the visual arts education coordinator at the International Academy of Film and Television in Antwerp. Midge Sinnaeve joined the fellas to talk awkward clients, how one becomes a ‘professional’ and the Super Bowl from a European perspective. Chris met today’s guest when he interviewed him for episcura. The confusion of time zones and what is Central European Time? Midge was bitten by the 3D bug during a science competition in Ireland. He was using Strata 3D. Midge worked in web design for a while, and then someone handed him Maya so he could try to get back into 3D. Midge has used a number of 3D software packages. At this point in the podcast he mentioned Cinema 4D. Correction: Chris mentioned that a BMX rider died, it was Dave Mirra. We apologize that Chris said Matt Hoffman. Live long and prosper, Mr. Hoffman. What’s an animatic? Midge’s company is called Daze. Midge said sending clients rough 3D or animatics can frighten them. He said it’s comparable to the Uncanny valley. If he sends something really rough, they’re scared, too polished and they’ll ask for changes not permissible within the time table. Chris mentions his recent viewing of Mad Max: Fury Road. Chris tells Midge & Paul about the Canadian super bowl, The Grey Cup. Dramatic Chipmunk vs. Johnny Carson. Midge got his own 3D department at International Academy of Film and Television in Antwerp by walking down the street? A few of the artists that inspired Midge: Alex Roman and his The Third & The Seventh. GMUNK. Ash Thorp. Midge prefers to show students the “how & why” of the process, rather than teaching the software. So he teaches them how to do the same thing in 3DS Max and Blender. Thanks to Midge for joining us all the way from the land of delicious beer. Hey, we should probably have him on again. In person! At a Belgian pub! You should give us a single dollar over on Patreon to make that happen. Thanks for listening. Talk to us on Twitter or Facebook, we’re desperate for attention. Support Montreal Sauce on Patreon

Jay Fraga, founder of The Knockout Project, joins us to discuss his experiences with concussions. A week before we did this podcast, legendary BMX racer Dave Mirra committed suicide. He had been open about how he was dealing with concussions, and Dave's death hit me and Jay hard. Jay was a BMX racer for many years, so it was even particularly hard for him to deal with. In this episode, Jay talks about the concussions he's had, his inspiration for starting The Knockout Project, and a particular time when he was driving down the road when everything went mentally blank, and he had no idea where he was going or why he was going there. This episode is an illuminating dive into someone who still experiences concussions symptoms, but who is doing everything he can to help people dealing with this. For more information, and for extremely powerful articles about athletes who have experienced concussions, go to his website theknockoutproject.org.

Special Guest @LadyBenji joins us this week on the show. Beyonce releases a new video that changes our lives. Jay Electronica does the opposite when he needlessly attacks Curtis Jackson and Kendrick. We share our favorite Black History facts about Sonic the Hedgehog and Star Trek. We also continue to love star wars. We discuss the tragic loss of Dave Mirra and mental health issues. Maurice White of Earth, Wind and Fire also passed away. The legendary group that was the driving force behind Captain Planet. This week's top 5 was one hit wonders. This term is often used as a derogatory term. Musical hits are like lost loves, it is better to have a hit and lost than to never have hit at all.
I was SUPER shocked to hear that BMX and X Games Legend Dave Mirra was found dead yesterday. He was only 41 years old. He leaves a wife and two kids behind. Dave was in Sheboygan a few years ago (11-12-2010) promoting financial awareness and life goals. He's was one of the most down-to-earth "regular" guys you'd ever meet. I also remember how friendly he was. He had time for everyone that day. Sad to see him gone. --- (Greenville, NC) -- BMX legend Dave Mirra is dead at the age of 41. Police in Greenville, North Carolina, said on Facebook that Mirra's death was an apparent suicide from a self-inflicted gunshot. They said Mirra had been visiting with friends shortly before being found dead in his truck yesterday afternoon. The former host of MTV's "Real World/Road Rules Challenge" finished his BMX career with 24 total X Games medals. Mirra is survived by his wife and their two children. (Metro News)

Risk Without Regret: Stories from Risk Takers, Inspiring Entrepreneurs, Small Business Owners
I love it when people reach out to me about being on the podcast, which is exactly what this episode's featured guest did. Fat Tony is a 33 year old freelance photographer and entrepreneur from Long Beach, California. As soon as the call started, I could tell this was gonna be a super exciting and entertaining episode to be a part of. As well as the type of episode I couldn't wait to share with you, so here we are! He's been to 35 countries, he landed his dream job right out of college at one of the top magazines in the world, and everything seemed to be going just as he planned. But then he just wasn't feeling it anymore, he was searching for new dreams. With no plan B or safety net, most people would be terrified. Not this guy. Hhe quit his job and went straight back to traveling around the globe like a badass!Well I don't wanna give too much away, so hit that play button below and get to know Fat Tony's story and what he's currently working on. This is an episode you won't stop listening to, so get comfy or turn the cruise control on in your car, and enjoy!Subscribe to the podcast!Featured products/services:Ask. by Ryan Levesque. I finished this book in less than 2 days. I was so interested in the content and I literally couldn't put it down. The first half talks about his story and the second half explains the "Ask Formula" that he's developed. It's basically about asking questions to prospects, getting them into a really advanced sales funnel, and then transitioning them into customers through a series of surveys and stories. But it's all about asking the right questions, which most businesses don't do, which means they think they know what customers want when they actually don't. So if this sounds interesting to you, go check it out at here!Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook by Gary Vaynerchuk. The second book is by one of my favorite entrepreneurs and this is his 3rd book. I've talked about his first book before called Crush It!, and I have his second book on my Amazon Wishlist called The Thank You Economy, and now I just started reading this one a couple days ago. It's all about how to tell your story in a noisy social world. The title of the book means that, just like boxing, you want to throw a few small punches before you throw the big knockout punch. So that means a few subtle soft sells then a more direct sell. It's about building trust with your community and speaking the native language for each individual social media platform. I'll have this book done in a few days and I'll be anxiously awaiting his next book which is due out in March. But if you want to grab this book and really ramp up your social media strategy, just visit this link now!Show notes:[04:45] Tell us who you are...[05:50] Did you go to college for photo/video?I realized that the designer sits at a computer all day and a photographer travels the world and does a bunch of cool shit.[07:05] Did you do freelance work while you had a fulltime job?I got a taste of this lifestyle, of this freedom, and world travel, and adventure. That was really what made me think, eventually I want to have a life more like this.[09:55] Seems like you have the world traveler life for sure now. Do you?I definitely got bit by the travel bug when I was at the job because I was getting paid to do the traveling. You can have a great time in a shitty place or you can have a shitty time in a great place, depending on who you're with and your experiences while you're there.[15:15] How did you get into the vegan lifestyle? If you don't know what the ingredients are, don't put it in your body.[18:40] Have you always been a person that goes to the gym?[23:00] Talk about the 5th grade family trip in NYC and how you fell in love with photography...I love that feeling of looking through a viewfinder, finding a composition, taking the image, getting it back, and being able to share that with people. If I put my mind to something, I was going to do it.If you set goals and work towards them, it's gonna happen.[25:25] Have you always wanted to be an entrepreneur?[27:00] How did you get into video?I basically learned on the job which was great because I was getting paid to hone in my skills and become better at this.Everybody watches YouTube videos and now I'm just one of the people who makes them.[31:25] What did that feel like on your last day of your job to quit and go on your own?I don't want to change these things about myself. This is who I am. I'm proud of this. This is what I think is right for me.[37:45] Did you go straight into freelance right after you quit? When you're pretty good at a lot of things, it's hard to release some control and trust other people.I needed to work with people on a more regular basis than just sitting in my condo by myself.Having a partner not only helps keep me sane, it helps me push myself further, and it gives me another creative eye to help look at the stuff that I might oversee. It also gives me more ideas, plus it's a lot more fun to work with somebody than alone all the time.[42:30] Talk about the podcast you started...As I was listening to these a ton, it just became natural for me to want to create my own.I just want to have interesting conversations with people that I might not normally have otherwise, record them, and share them with people. -Tim FerrissIf you do the homework, the test is easy. -Dave Mirra[49:35] What is Break Parallel?[56:55] Has social media helped you over the years?I've definitely had interactions with people that have followed my personal Instagram and have been inspired to make positive changes in their lives just because I set a good example that they can follow. It's a no-brainer, it's 2016 now, so social media is a part of everything.[59:55] Do people always tell you that you're "living the dream?"Yes, this is my dream, but if you have your own dreams, then it's up to you to make it happen. You can have everything else you need, but if you don't have the mindset to make it happen, then you're going nowhere. If there's something ingrained in you that is holding you back, you need to do a little self-analysis on yourself to figure out why you're like that, undo that, then change that about yourself.[1:02:30] What inspires you?[1:04:10] Is there anything unique about what you do?I accel at telling those stories and I accel at that quick workflow that allows me to deliver the product faster than just about anyone else.[1:06:20] Were there things you had to give up early on to get to where you are now?I had given up so much, and didn't even realize it, to have a full-time job.[1:07:25] Any fears you had back then or now?It was hard for me to give it up because it was what I knew and what I loved.Leaving the full-time job? Not so much. But making a full transition to a different industry was a big fear. There was definitely an ego component to it where I enjoyed having a certain status, I enjoyed people knowing who I was. And nowadays that I'm making that transition, I don't really care if people know who I am.I want to do the work that inspires me and that energizes me and that leads me to my goals, but I don't necessarily need to be the face of the work. I'm happy enough now letting the work speak for itself.[1:12:05] Any mastermind groups or mentors in your life? It's so easy to have self-doubts. But maybe that's a good thing because maybe that means you're pushing yourself.[1:14:40] Where did the name Fat Tony come from?[1:16:45] Has there been a moment that stands out that really makes you proud to do what you do?I think the biggest compliment you can ever get is for somebody to say that you've inspired them.[1:20:45] Is being an entrepreneur easier if you're single? This is cool and I'm appreciative, but even though I'm here and doing these things, I'm lonely.[1:22:30] What's a big risk you've taken? If you calculate the risk, then you're probably not gonna have many regrets.[1:23:20] What's the best way to connect with you?Connect with Fat Tony:Website: fattonybmx.comInstagram: @fattonybmxTwitter: @fattonybmxFacebook: facebook.com/fattonybmxBreak Parallel: breakparallel.comThe Expansion Project Podcast: theexpansionprojectpodcast.comPeople, websites, & products mentioned:Best Speech You Will Ever Hear - Gary YourofskyForks Over KnivesCrossFitRob DardenPurePharmaA Day in the Life of Brooke EnceFUEL TVJoe RoganTim FerrissAndy HurleyDave Mirrahttp://theexpansionprojectpodcast.com/Ben BergeronJohn ResigSecrets of the Millionaire MindDarlene AdamusikThanks again for listening and reading the show notes.
