Hector and CJ are back on The Pull List for a giant-size comics episode packed with comic news, recent reads, spiritual content, and a full superhero TV bracket showdown. They kick things off with Strong Bad nostalgia, a mall comic-con story, and comic news covering Alex Ross, Adam Hughes, The Boys, Daredevil, My Adventures with Superman, Batman Beyond, fan-created Batman villains, and DC characters with “wasted potential.” Then they break down recent pulls including The Lost Daughter of Sparta, Ultimate Oz Universe, She-Spawn, Justice League Unlimited, If Destruction Be Our Lot, Inglourious X-Force, Batman, Redcoat, Swamp Thing, and Oddball's Odyssey before debating superhero shows all the way to a final face-off.
Dr. Beckett welcomes Ray Fonio aka Ray from Philly to discuss the 2026 Baseball Card Hall of Fame ballot, reminds viewers to vote by May 14 at www.thesportscardhalloffame.com, and reviews how the process works: separate pre-war and post-war ballots with 25 cards each, selecting five per ballot. Dr. Beckett explains his voting philosophy balancing rarity and demand, then walks through key pre-war candidates including Old Judge, T206, Cracker Jack, and the 1925 Exhibit Lou Gehrig, plus thoughts on error cards and oversized issues. For post-war, he highlights choices and debates around regional and modern cards, including 1947 Bond Bread Jackie Robinson, 1949 Bowman Roy Campanella, 1950 Toleteros Josh Gibson, 1968 Topps 3D Clemente, and 1980 Charlotte O's Cal Ripken, and discusses potentially splitting the post-war era and creating separate ballots for non-mainstream issues. 00:54 Pre War Picks Old Judge Icons 01:20 Shoeless Joe and Rarity Theory 02:27 T206 Errors Doyle vs Magie 04:28 Turkey Reds and Oversize Regrets 05:55 Cracker Jack and Exhibit Gehrig 07:18 Diamond Stars and Write In Ideas 09:36 Campanella and Josh Gibson Spotlight 13:20 Clemente 3D Ripken and Modern Cards 16:52 Rethinking Eras Mainstream vs Oddball

Oddball's Odyssey from Bad Idea Comics might look like a Sunday funnies throwback, but underneath the whimsical cartooning and laugh-out-loud moments is a story with real emotional depth. Written and illustrated by Tony Millionaire, with colors by Jim Campbell II, this oversized issue delivers gorgeous, expressive artwork that leans into classic cartooning and Looney Tunes–style visual storytelling. On the surface, it's a zany adventure following Bobby, an alcoholic monkey, and his friend Jimmy as they navigate a bizarre journey filled with mythological elements, surreal humor, and incredible sight gags. But beneath that playful tone are themes of self-awareness, belonging, friendship, and the search for love, as Bobby's obsession with Lucia the swan pushes him toward confronting his own flaws and finding his place in the world. This is a comic that works on multiple levels—you can enjoy it purely for the humor and visual storytelling, or dig deeper into the ideas about identity, connection, and acceptance that give the story its emotional weight.

In this episode we welcome back the marvellous Adele Bertei — five years after she first guested on our show — to talk about her amazing new book No New York. Beginning with a definition of the postpunk sub-genre "No Wave", the former Contortion recalls her experience of living in Manhattan's perilous East Village in the late '70s and playing organ behind the unhinged James Chance. She also pays tribute to the many fearless women who "shaped the scene", first and foremost the formidable Lydia Lunch. Our guest recalls working as a go-fer for Brian Eno and then being a crucial part of the No New York album the former Roxy Musician oversaw in 1978. We hear not just about Chance's Contortions and Lunch's Teenage Jesus & the Jerks but about Mars, DNA, the Bush Tetras and finally Adele's own funky feminist troupe the Bloods. After collective reflections on No Wave's slow dissolution — and Adele's subsequent '80s adventures with the likes of Thomas Dolby — Barney and Jasper rave about the week's featured artist Robyn and the week's featured audio, in which the late Chip Taylor reminisces about such classic hit songs as 'Wild Thing' and 'Try (Just a Little Bit Harder)'. Finally, Mark quotes appropriately from a 1978 Talking Heads interview and Jasper enjoys a Caroline Sullivan diss of Eminem's Marshall Mathers LP from 2000. Many thanks to special Adele Bertei. No New York: A Memoir of No Wave and the Women Who Shaped the Scene is published by Faber and available now. Pieces discussed: Nobody Waved Goodbye: Bands At Artists Space, Brian Eno's No New York compilation, Sons and Daughters of No New York: DNA, Robyn: Blonde Ambition, Robyn, Röyksopp: "There's This Idea That You're An Oddball, Far Up At The Top Of The World", Robyn: Brixton Academy, London, Chip Taylor audio, The Talking Heads sing more songs about buildings and food, Eminem: The Marshall Mathers LP and It's no wonder Dylan didn't take the fight to Beijing — he was never very political.
Although Lounge-alum Bri Gerzevske is known and loved by listeners for her zany sense of humor and oddball comedy, what many may not know is that she is also a seasoned advancement professional known and loved by her colleagues for her “oddball leadership” philosophy. What exactly is “oddball leadership”? In this episode, Bri (while sporting a giant foam cowboy hat over her headphones) breaks down the concept for Sarah, Erin, and Rachel, encouraging them to embrace a leadership style marked by belonging, gratitude, joy — and a higher-than-usual tolerance for chaos and creativity. Whether you're a leader in the workplace, the church, the community, or the home, Bri's insights will help you imagine a different paradigm for leadership, one marked by compassion and curiosity and punctuated by crazy good fun. Today's daily podcast is what happens when you invite an Elvis clown into the studio and just… let things spiral.Clownvis Presley hangs out with the crew to talk about his upcoming “Oddballs and Outlaws Tour,” including a big stop at Red Flag in St. Louis. It's part concert promo, part existential confusion, and fully entertaining. If you've never seen Clownvis before, imagine Elvis… but somehow more chaotic and slightly more honest.Meanwhile, Rafe is laser-focused on one goal: getting onto Willie Nelson's tour bus. Not metaphorically. Literally. This turns into a full-blown mission involving questionable disguises, loose connections, and the kind of confidence you only get from zero actual planning. If you've ever tried to “manifest” something with no real strategy, this is your guy.We also dive deep into March Movie Mayhem, where 90s classics go head-to-head and friendships are tested. Dumb & Dumber vs Office Space? Tommy Boy vs Austin Powers? These are the kinds of decisions that say a lot about you—and none of it is good. Then comes the music game… which might be the most aggressively dumb and frustrating game we've ever played on this daily podcast. Tiny sound clips, wild guesses, and just enough confidence to make everyone look ridiculous. In “Crap on Celebrities,” we break down Moby trying to cancel a classic song (because of course he is), debate whether Goo Goo Dolls' “Iris” is actually terrible (Rizz says yes, loudly), and somehow spiral into a full-blown argument about 80s movies that still hold up today. It's messy. It's loud. It's completely unnecessary. And it's exactly what you expect from The Rizzuto Show.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
This episode kicks off exactly how you'd expect from a funny podcast that thrives on oversharing — with Riz prepping for his wife's colonoscopy like it's a full-blown live event. We're talking guest room exile, filming post-anesthesia nonsense, and somehow comparing medical procedures to oil changes. Because of course we are. From there, the show spirals into a nostalgia-fueled rabbit hole of “things from the past that would absolutely break us today” — including:Waiting in line for a payphoneDial-up internet destroying your household peacePhysically going to the bank like some kind of pilgrimDownloading a single song for half a dayAnd the true trauma: no save points in old video gamesBasically, if you survived the ‘90s, congrats — you earned today's convenience.Clownvis Presley (yes, that's real, no we won't explain it again) joins the studio and instantly brings the weird energy up to acceptable Rizz Show levels. There's talk of him standing motionless in parking lots like a haunted Elvis statue (which… honestly tracks), plus hype for his upcoming Oddballs & Outlaws Tour, hitting St. Louis at Red Flag.Meanwhile, Rafe is fully spiraling over a stacked Willie Nelson show lineup — and plotting ways to sneak onto Willie's tour bus like it's a low-budget heist movie. The crew continues their 90s movie bracket, and it gets personal:Dumb and Dumber vs Office Space (rude matchup)Tommy Boy vs Austin Powers (illegal to choose)Something About Mary vs Mrs. Doubtfire (childhood vs comedy chaos)Big Lebowski vs Groundhog Day (existential crisis edition)Everyone argues like their childhood depends on it — because it kinda does. The show's signature game returns, and it's a rollercoaster:One round goes completely off the rails (shocking no one)Another round magically connects “doctor” and “hoodie” into “lab coat” like some kind of psychic miracleMultiple moments where the audience is definitely yelling at their radiosIt's the perfect mix of “we got this” and “we absolutely do not got this.”Riz debuts a new game pulling tiny sounds from songs, forcing everyone to guess the track and artist — which turns into:ConfusionAccidental brillianceAnd at least one moment where someone somehow nails it and everyone else gets madStandard operating procedure.Because this is a daily comedy show, we also acknowledge:National Cocktail Day

Realizing he needed training, and for his voice to change, he began studying voiceover with every vo coach LA had to offer. Combined with two years at a Meisner acting conservatory and three years of improv study with The Groundlings, he was able to secure an agent at eighteen and pursue his dream, while tour guiding at Universal Studios allowed him to eat. We're not gonna lie. You'll probably hate this song. It's far too sophisticated for the type of primitive Def Leppard loving classic classic rock fan we seem to mainly attract. You'll probably be waiting for a face-melting guitar solo followed by a lyric about a boobs. Well, Corey, you're gonna be disappointed mate because this is closer to Art Garfunky than it is to Monogene Simmons! If Kev were to title this episode, he'd probably call it "Oddball Dance", or possibly, "What in the hairy green fuck did we just listen to?"The twenty third installment in this podcast-within-a-podcast covers a song submitted by and anonymous KoFi regular - and if you're out there in the wilds of the internet and this suddenly pops up on your podcast feed, do let us know who you are so we can say a proper thanks! With the phone lines wide open, The Michael Berry Show turns into a rolling conversation about life, work, faith, memory, and the people who make a day interesting. From a Cherokee hairstylist in Kingwood and her journey through small-town America, to updates from the ever-endearing Homeless Victor, to reflections sparked by Where the Red Fern Grows, listeners bring humor, nostalgia, and hard-won wisdom. Along the way, Michael riffs on haircuts, family, compensation versus paychecks, faith conferences, and the power of revisiting the things that once centered us. It’s unscripted, funny, meandering—and exactly why the open-line days resonate.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Devin & James are back in the Den one more time in 2025 for our final 50th Anniversary celebration of the films of 1975! This time we focus on the ODDBALL MOVIES of '75, those that are too wild or weird to easily fit into the other categories in our series. We begin with a couple of moody films written by Thomas McGuaine: Stoner cowboys Jeff Bridges & Sam Waterston rustle cattle in RANCHO DELUXE, and then Peter Fonda & Warren Oates have very violent conversations about fishing in 92 IN THE SHADE. Both films also feature amazing performances by Harry Dean Stanton and Joe Spinell. We lighten the mood a bit with Michael Ritchie's underrated slice-of-life beauty pageant comedy SMILE, with fantastic performances by Bruce Dern, Annette O'Toole, and many others. We finish up our celebration with a couple of very dark Los Angeles Depression-era period pieces: Mike Nichols' THE FORTUNE, a pitch-black screwball comedy featuring Jack Nicholson, Warren Beatty, and Stockard Channing in a murdurous love triangle, and John Schlesinger's brutal poison pen letter to old Hollywood, THE DAY OF THE LOCUST, showcasing the never-better Karen Black, the never-creepier Donald Sutherland, and a rare major role by William Atherton. Throw in a lot more offbeat appearances by the likes of Slim Pickens, Burgess Meredith, William Hickey, Billy Barty, Margot Kidder, and Geoffrey Lewis, and you end up with one of the most interesting rosters of character actors we've ever discussed in one episode! These films don't all turn out to be masterpieces (most of them don't), but they are all huge creative swings that stand out from the crowd during an era known for big swings, and that's saying something. Join us to pay tribute to the films from 1975 that were too weird to be hits, but too rare to be forgotten.

This episode is a mix of reminiscences from Sarah and Dimity about adventures they've shared over the 15 years of Another Mother Runner, while answering Kathleen's question about their bucket-list races (including Sarah's maybe-one-day marathon). They also address Other Sarah's question about oddball places they've run (nothing rivals her kitchen-island laps!!!) and Heidi's community query. The questions get kicked off around 6:31, after Sarah shares her renewed love of running and Dimity talks about her impressive swimming streak. Here's the black-bean brownie recipe Dimity favors; here's where to sign up for podcast updates. When you shop our sponsors, you help AMR. We appreciate your—and their—support! This week on TechTime Radio, a state-backed cyber scheme hiding in plain sight. That's where we start: identity rental, deepfaked interviews, and remote tooling that let North Korean operators slip into real jobs at real companies. We unpack how recruiters lure engineers, what data they demand, and the quiet ways compromised devices become corporate backdoors. Then we get practical—clear verification steps for HR, device attestation, network controls, and a tighter handshake between hiring and security teams. From the office to the bookstore, we shift to the uneasy rise of AI-written titles and the complicated dance between reader demand, author craft, and copyright risk. We talk labels, discovery, and the thin line between helpful tools and hollow literature. Policy heats up as Australia forces a sweeping under-16 social media lockout. We parse the benefits, the whiplash, and the risk of driving teens to unmoderated spaces, and outline smarter safeguards like verified age gates, default privacy, and digital literacy. Then comes the jaw-dropper: researchers discover that stylized poetry can jailbreak safety systems across multiple chatbots. We explore why “style attacks” work, where current guardrails fail, and how to harden models with adversarial training, independent moderation, and server-side checks. Entertainment gets its own tremor as a rumored Netflix–Warner Bros.–HBO deal sparks questions about catalog control, competition, and what it means for your monthly subscriptions. And yes, we leave room for levity: the London velodrome's accidental “sound effect,” a raccoon's ill-fated whiskey tasting, and a cautionary tale of an AI agent that wiped a developer's entire drive without a confirmation. We close with our whiskey finals—WhistlePig PiggyBack Bourbon versus Bakta 1928 Rye—and crown a champion after a tight, flavor-first showdown. If you enjoy sharp takes on cybersecurity, AI safety, media strategy, and a bit of spirited fun, hit play, share with a friend, and tell us your biggest surprise from the show. Prebiotic cola, plant-based (and AI-inspired?) pulled chicken and protein-packed marshmallows. The hosts crack open Pepsi's new prebiotic cola and discuss whether a stevia-sweetened "functional" soda can win over classic cola fans. They also dig into Just Meat's big win at Walmart and what it says about the future of meat analogs, and why protein marshmallows might actually work in your next s'more. Show notes: 0:25: Rotten Roaches. The BevNET Bowls. Cloying & Fibrous. Who's Eating This Stuff? S'More, Please. – Jacqui explains why there is a bright red "biohazard" bag on her desk and the hosts joke about modern marketing tactics. They pivot to a preview of the upcoming NOSH Live, BevNET Live and Brewbound Live events, highlighting opportunities for founders to meet retailers, investors, and strategic partners. They sample PepsiCo's newly launched Pepsi Prebiotic – a lower-calorie, stevia-sweetened soda that comes in classic cola and cherry vanilla flavors – and opine on the minimalist white cans and whether Pepsi has clearly communicated the benefits. The hosts then discuss JUST Meat's newly launched plant-based pulled chicken, which is now available in four flavors at 3,000 Walmart stores, which sparks a debate about whether mainstream shoppers truly want meat analogs, and how clean-label concerns are shaping the category. Shifting gears, Ray highlights news that BeatBox Beverages – the colorful, party-forward, wine-based cocktail brand – is rumored to be an acquisition target by AB InBev in a deal reportedly worth around $700 million. Ray introduces Primal Sweets' protein marshmallows, which contain 25 grams of protein per bag and no sugar, and Albero D'oro cocktail cherries, before Jacqui presents Flour + Water's artisanal pasta, and Mike praises Hiyo's new pineapple coconut "social tonic." Brands in this episode: Rotten Candy, Oh So Easy, Keya's, Oddball, Pepsi, Poppi, Nixie, Just Meat, Beyond Meat, BeatBox, Primal Sweets, Flour + Water, Albero D'oro, Hiyo, Poppi
What lies beneath the Great Sphinx of Giza—and why does it continue to fuel global obsession? In this episode of The Box of Oddities, Jethro uncovers the strange history, disputed radar scans, ancient legends, and modern controversies surrounding the Sphinx. From Edgar Cayce's “Hall of Records” prophecy to seismic anomalies beneath the limestone, this deep dive explores why some experts insist it's just geology while others believe an untouched vault—or even a lost city—still waits beneath those ancient paws. Then, Kat flips the script on the animal kingdom with a celebration of Earth's rule-breakers—creatures that defy everything we expect from their species. Meet the herbivorous jumping spider, the underwater-breathing diving bell spider, mudskippers that drown in water, axolotls that never grow up, the egg-laying electrified platypus, the “Jesus Christ” lizard that walks on water, the immortal jellyfish, and more. These misfit marvels prove evolution has a wonderfully weird sense of humor. If you love ancient mysteries, bizarre biology, strange science, and the delightfully unexpected, this episode delivers maximum oddity. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

The Draft is over and we have a lot to recap on Oddball. Amin and Izzy discuss their favorite non-Cooper Flagg picks, VJ Edgecombe and Khaman Malucach. The Phonenix Suns traded for Mark Williams, and now have three centers from North Carolina. The Pelicans traded an unprotected first pick for Derick Queen. Is he just a worse version of Zion Williamson?. Plus, The Houston Rockets, The Utah Jazz and Jordan Poole all make this weeks edition of Headlines. Learn more about your ad choices. The NBA Draft is here! Shams Charania predicts this will be the craziest offseason, so we're breaking out another gradient grid. We rank the Dallas Mavericks, the San Antonio Spurs, the Philadelphia Sixers, and the OKC Thunder in terms of inactive or active and care or don't care. What will Cooper Flagg's instant impact be in Dallas? Will the Spurs speed up their timeline with De'Aaron Fox and Victor Wembanyama, or slow it down with Dylan Harper? The Sixers are a tire fire, but we're locked in to watch! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
Kevin Durant was traded to the Houston Rockets. The Rockets have a lot of young guys, so if they do not win in this window, at least the window to win will be bigger. Jalen Green is not that guy right now, trading him was the right decision. The Miami Heat were finalists in the KD trade, but with Kel'el Ware and Nikola Jovic declared untouchables, was Miami really serious about this trade or were they appeasing their fan base? Plus, which teams in the East are going to see this season as a chance to go all in? Will Pistons be able to replicate OKC's success with Cade Cunningham instead of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander? The Hawks have Trae Young, but will he stay in Atlanta? The Milwaukee Bucks need a co-star for Giannis Antetokounmpo... should they go after Jalen Green? Learn more about your ad choices. The OKC Thunder are your 2024-2025 NBA Champions! But before we crown this young OKC squad, we've got to discuss Tyrese Haliburton's Achilles tear that took him out just 7 minutes into Game 7. Will this be the injury that convinces teams to sit players with calf injuries? Obi Toppin, who scored zero points, vulnerably admitted Hali's injury kept him distracted. Pascal Siakam was a ghost out there and the coaches were shell shocked. Meanwhile, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander stabilized his side and etched his name in the history books. For OKC, learning as they went along was not just limited to basketball, they also learned how to pop champagne correctly! Plus, the final Iciest Play of the season, and our first offseason edition of Headlines. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
Game. Seven. The Pacers dominated Game 6 in Indiana, and now the NBA Finals will be decided by a winner-take-all showdown in Oklahoma City on Sunday night. Michelle Beadle joins Amin and Izzy to discuss Kevin Durant trade rumors. KD wants to go to the San Antonio Spurs, but are they going to meet the Suns' asking price? KD might want the New York Knicks, but the Knicks don't want him. KD needs coaching stability, could Houston be the answer? And with all these questions, we have to ask, do you trust Durant to pick the best spot for himself? Also, Victor Wembanyama is training with the Shaolin monks, and Michelle Beadle weighs in on the Knicks coaching chaos. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
Michelle Beadle joins Oddball! Amin, Izzy, and Beadle all realized their ESPN logins still work so they were able to see every topic and graphic planned for First Take during the offseason. It wouldn't be First Take without a Stephen A. Smith mention, a Lebron Legacy question, and a Cowboys appearance. Is Wemby-Flagg the new Magic-Bird? Could Superman compete in 90's NBA? Should Stephen A be Knicks coach or President? All the most important debates will be tackled this summer, but we've got the answers now. Learn more about your ad choices.
