In late nineteenth-century Latin America, governments used new scientific, technological, and geographical knowledge not only to consolidate power and protect borders but also to define the physical contours of their respective nations. Chilean and Argentine authorities in particular attempted to transform northern Patagonia, a space they perceived as "desert," through a myriad of nationalizing policies, from military campaigns to hotels. But beyond the urban governing halls of Chile and Argentina, explorers, migrants, local authorities, bandits, and visitors also made sense of the nation by inhabiting the physical space of the northern Patagonian Andes. They surveyed passes, opened roads, claimed land titles or leases, traveled miles to the nearest police station, rode miles on horseback to escape the police, and hiked the landscape. Phúc âm đã kể lại việc thánh Giuse là bạn của Đức Maria thấy bạn mình có thai thì hồ nghi và định âm thầm bỏ đi, nhưng rồi thiên thần Chúa báo mộng để thánh Giuse ở lại và chăm sóc cho Đức Maria và Chúa Giêsu.Câu chuyện về gia đình của Chúa Giêsu, Đức Maria và thánh Giuse, với những vấn đề tầm thường được Kinh Thánh thuật lại nhằm diễn tả mầu nhiệm nhập thể của Đấng Cứu Thế. Thiên Chúa làm người và sống như con người.Vì thế, tác giả kịch bản phim đã mượn câu chuyện này và lật ngược lại để cho ra một câu chuyện mang tính thời sự của thế kỷ XXI. Một người đàn ông mang bầu và sinh ra một nữ cứu thế.Mượn Kinh Thánh để nói chuyện thời sựTrong phim này, đạo diễn, hay đúng hơn là tác giả kịch bản, là hai diễn viên chính Salvo Ficarra và Valentino Picone, đã dùng thời gian mang thai của thầy giáo Nicola để đề cập đến mọi vấn đề xã hội của nước Ý nói chung, và vùng Sicilia nói riêng. Phúc âm đã kể lại việc thánh Giuse là bạn của Đức Maria thấy bạn mình có thai thì hồ nghi và định âm thầm bỏ đi, nhưng rồi thiên thần Chúa báo mộng để thánh Giuse ở lại và chăm sóc cho Đức Maria và Chúa Giêsu.Câu chuyện về gia đình của Chúa Giêsu, Đức Maria và thánh Giuse, với những vấn đề tầm thường được Kinh Thánh thuật lại nhằm diễn tả mầu nhiệm nhập thể của Đấng Cứu Thế. Thiên Chúa làm người và sống như con người.Vì thế, tác giả kịch bản phim đã mượn câu chuyện này và lật ngược lại để cho ra một câu chuyện mang tính thời sự của thế kỷ XXI. Từ vấn đề cá nhân, một người đàn ông gia trưởng độc tài, đến gia đình, vấn nạn ly dị, cho đến các vấn đề xã hội như giáo dục, nhất là các trường công giáo.Rồi vấn đề phá thai, trợ cấp xã hội cho những cặp đôi nuôi con, sự xuống cấp của hệ thống y tế và sự suy giảm dân số… nhiều vấn đề thời sự của nước Ý đã được khéo léo đưa vào bộ phim. Như họ đã từng làm trong bộ phim « Il Primo Natale - Giáng Sinh đầu tiên » (2019) cũng mượn chuyện Giáng Sinh trong Kinh Thánh để nói chuyện về nạn di dân.  Điều gây ra sự phản đối từ những người thậm chí chưa từng xem tác phẩm của hai diễn viên hài người Sicilia, là sự khởi đầu, tức là việc gửi một đấng cứu thế mới đến Trái đất để cứu nhân loại khỏi trận đại hồng thủy thứ hai. Another first for you! We are thrilled to introduce you to Chief David Picone, our first-ever fire chief on our podcast. He is the Fire Department Battalion Chief and Health and Safety Officer with the City of San Diego.  June is PTSD Awareness Month, so we are happy to share our recent interview with Chief Picone.  In this episode, Chief Picone shares his educational background, his desire to be a rock star, his journey as a career firefighter, and how he has grown to be a steward for cultural change with the City of San Diego Fire Department. The success of San Diego's program has attracted attention from fire departments across the nation and even the Tokyo Fire Department, the largest urban fire department in the world, and Chief Picone has been an integral part of the program since 2017. Chief's call to action is for cities and fire departments everywhere to adopt similar changes that have been made in San Diego so that first responders get the care they need when they need it.
