Oscar-nominated screenwriter Billy Ray talks about AI creeping further into Hollywood. Spoiler alert, he is not a fan of cinematic artificial intelligence. He refers to Tilly Norwood as an “it” and not as an actress. Billy Ray believes AI hurts Hollywood and takes away middleclass jobs from behind-the-scenes movie workers, like gaffers, workaday actors and camera operators, arguing that LA is a blue-collar town. Will AI become a powerful creative ally or is it a threat to their craft and livelihoods? Ray argues for strong protections, insisting that “the public has a right to know when they're watching something written by a human being.” The Dodgers have taken a 1:0 lead at Dodgers Stadium! Hurricane Humberto is drawing near Bermuda, thus sparing the U.S. East Coast. A nursing student at a carwash in Reseda was mugged for $4,000 while vacuuming her car, but she has a GoFundMe.

A powerful demonstration of kindness and forgiveness inspired me to reflect on how we motorcyclists interact with drivers who seem careless around us. When someone cuts us off or fails to see us, our default reaction is anger—labeling them as "idiot drivers" who don't value our safety. But what if we're missing crucial context? That driver who turned in front of you might be fleeing a traumatic situation, vision blurred by tears, world crumbling around them. We never truly know what battles others are fighting behind their windshields.By choosing kindness over condemnation—a friendly wave indicating "it's okay" rather than an angry gesture—we might not only diffuse our own negative emotions but potentially inspire greater awareness for motorcyclists. The space between helmets and steering wheels contains human hearts capable of both tremendous hurt and healing. Craig's story reminds us that beneath our protective gear, we're neighbors and friends with capacity for extraordinary compassion. What act of unexpected kindness have you witnessed recently? Share your story and help spread this message of compassion that our roads—and our world—so desperately need.

I was once driving with a friend of mine, who tends to get a little irritated when driving if somebody doesn't drive properly. Merging onto the freeway, he noticed that somebody didn't let him on, and I could tell that urge welled up in his chest and he started accelerating. And then I, the passenger, said the mantra, "We forgive you." As soon as I said that, it kind of broke that spell of that rush of anger that he had, and a second later, he looked over and said, "How do you do that?" To this day, he remembers that incident. It was at least 15 years ago, and whenever we get together, not all the time, but he will bring it up from time to time. He says, "I remember that time when you said when you uttered that mantra," because it's utterly contrary to what people often feel is the right thing to do. The mode of passion colors us. Incidentally, the mode of passion is the color red, appropriately, like when you "see red." It's practically literal, and it's also symbolic of the mode of passion that we see red. But we can preempt it if we are ready to forgive and let it go. And when we talk about forgiveness, forgiveness isn't condoning what anybody else does, but it's releasing ourselves from the situation so that we're not consumed by it, because rajas, that middle mode, it burns like fire, and fire can burn everything to ashes once it starts. Who knows how far it can go? It can burn down everything in your life. So learn to let it go instantaneously by having this mantra ready to go. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

On this episode of "The Valley Today," host Janet Michael welcomed Captain Warren Gosnell of the Frederick County Sheriff's Office for a lively and insightful discussion that went far beyond the usual public safety bulletin. The conversation began with a heartfelt congratulations to Captain Gosnell for his recent award, setting the tone for a candid exploration of what recognition means in the world of law enforcement. Goz reflected on his journey from a self-described average student and band member to a leader in public safety, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and the often-overlooked support systems behind every accolade. The heart of the episode delved into the realities of traffic safety—a topic both host and guest are passionate about. Janet raised a question about school bus safety at intersections, prompting Captain Gosnell to clarify Virginia's laws and the critical importance of stopping for school buses from all directions. Their discussion highlighted not just the letter of the law, but the spirit behind it: protecting children and fostering a culture of caution and care on the roads. The conversation took a sobering turn as they addressed recent traffic fatalities in the region, including tragic incidents involving motorcycles and high-speed pursuits. Captain Gosnell provided a behind-the-scenes look at the complexities officers face, from the split-second decisions during pursuits to the aftermath of fatal crashes. He debunked common myths about speed limits and the so-called “flow of traffic,” urging listeners to trust the expertise of engineers and law enforcement rather than internet rumors. Humor and humanity were never far from the surface. Janet and Goz shared personal stories—ranging from field day disappointments to the frustrations of social media trolls—reminding listeners that those in uniform are people first, with their own doubts, triumphs, and moments of self-reflection. The conversation closed with practical advice on managing road rage, the importance of patience, and the value of community conversations in making the roads safer for everyone.

TALK TO ME, TEXT ITFriendly Friday musings on travel etiquette, innovative road rage solutions, and criminal justice come together in this casual morning chat that might have you questioning your own reactions in similar situations.Ever been asked to watch a stranger's luggage at the airport? We dive into the story of a solo traveler who was shocked when someone flatly refused her request for this common courtesy. The scenario raises an interesting question for all of us: would you watch someone's bags, knowing airport security explicitly warns against it? Or would you politely decline, prioritizing security protocols over social niceties? Most commenters sided with the person who refused, though many of us might still feel that Southern hospitality pressure to say yes. From travel dilemmas to road rage solutions, we explore a fascinating new technology from Chinese car company Xpeng that lets frustrated drivers fire digital emojis at offending vehicles. Think Mario Kart for real-life traffic frustrations! The augmented reality system projects 3D emojis that appear to explode against the cars that cut you off or drive poorly. While potentially distracting, this creative approach to channeling driver anger might be exactly what we need instead of dangerous confrontations. We also discuss the latest update in the Menendez brothers case, with Eric Menendez being denied parole 36 years after murdering his parents. The California Board of Parole Hearings' decision comes after a 10-hour hearing, though Governor Newsom could potentially still grant clemency. The case continues to spark debate about rehabilitation, justice, and the complex factors surrounding this notorious case. What would you do if asked to watch a stranger's luggage?
