(0:00) Intro.(1:03) About the podcast sponsor: The American College of Governance Counsel.(1:50) Start of interview. (2:24) Cedric's origin story.(4:30) U.S. talent management insights (cultural differences with other countries): current merit.(6:00) On his management career with HP, Visa, and Syncada from Visa (a joint venture between Visa and U.S. Bank).(8:13) His transition to Taulia, a venture-backed company, in 2013.(11:04) On managing board dynamics as CEO and Chair of Taulia as a venture-backed company. *Reference to VC-Backed Board Academy (VCBA) on Oct 29, 2024 at Nasdaq in NYC.(15:20) The role of the Chair, and challenges of managing a large board, even when the business is thriving.  "[It is] important to have a couple of directors that can anchor the entire group in addition to the chairman or the CEO."(17:32) The exit strategy behind the acquisition of Taulia by SAP in 2022 and the business of Taulia and Supply Chain Management. "[I]t's all about free cash flows and moving liquidity across the economy." "Cultural fit is one of the number one success indicators of an M&A transaction." "I think someone will write a book at some point about this M&A transaction because it has been successful on all fronts." "Taulia is managed independently and autonomously, which is not maybe a standard setup."(23:28) On transitioning from a VC-backed board to a board of a fully-owned subsidiary of SAP. Going from private to public: "[T]he first advantage is that we don't have to do capital raise anymore if we wanted to invest in some areas. If we need some capital, we have access to a line of credit that SAP can provide." "If I was spending 20% of my time on investors, capital raise, and so forth in the the past. Now I spend 20% with SAP executives, regional presidents, to make sure that we can sell Taulia to as many clients as possible."(28:56) Decision-making on exit strategies for Taulia (and in general): i.e. IPOs, SPACs, M&A, and PE.(33:50) The impact of AI in business.(37:14) On managing geopolitical risks. "Two angles: 1) customers, and 2) compliance, law, and governance."(40:53) On the current economic landscape. "The number of M&A transactions is actually picking up, especially with companies that have a good bottom line." "I think that the best companies have built agility in their financial architecture to really adjust their business profile based on what the market can cope with."(44:48) On director education for board members, particularly venture-backed companies. "I would encourage VCs to recommend [not mandate] their [portfolio] CEOs to go through a training about governance, how to manage a board, how to make the board evolve, how to recruit board members, how to interview board members."(45:39) Books that have greatly influenced his life: Tribal Leadership, by Dave Logan, John King, Halee Fischer-Wright (2008)Good to Great, by Jim Collins (2001)Sports magazines and newspapers(46:13) His mentors. (47:37) Quotes that he thinks of often or lives her life by.(50:15) An unusual habit or absurd thing that he loves: cold plunges.(53:13) The person he most admires.Cedric Bru is CEO of Taulia, a fintech provider of working capital management solutions. In March of 2022, Taulia became part of SAP. Before Taulia, Cedric served as Global Head of Sales, Marketing, and Business Development at Syncada from Visa. Crimson Corner proudly brought in former Utah football middle linebacker Taulia Lave (1995-2000) to discuss with Utah Utes Insider Michelle Bodkin his time at Utah and a budding country music career.  Lave described his time with former Utah football head coach Ron McBride, his wife, Vicky, as well as watching then defensive coordinator Kyle Whittingham develop into the force he currently is as head coach of the Utes. Lave then dived into his continued relationship with all three and what they have meant to all of the players they've encountered over the years. From there, Michelle and Lave got into his growing career as a country music artist, his recent visit to Nashville, Tennessee to record his first album, and getting to open for the Ron McBride Benefit Concert taking place on June 22. The show closed on a very emotional note as Lave descibed what it means to be able to give back to McBride after all the love he has shared not only with Lave, but every person he's come in contact with.  You can follow Michelle Bodkin and Taulia Lave on Instagram.

Thoughts on The Game Starts at 1:00 It comes down to Michigan being the type of team to go for it on 4th and 1 and Ohio State is the type of team to punt on 4th and 1. This game came down to blocking and tackling, not sign stealing. Ohio State is below the Ferentz line over the last three years (and are 74% of the way to Ryan Day's 100 points). Twitter has been so much quieter since Saturday. Is this the end of the line for Ryan Day? Should it be? Also who would you even hire next? Michigan's culture was built to beat Ohio State. This program brings out the mental fortitude of the players required to endure what the last six weeks has been.   2. Offense vs Ohio State Starts at 36:19 Blake Corum's 22 yard run is what he came back to Michigan for, he ran duo and made Sonny Styles look silly. Trente Jones is blowing people off the line - so happy for him in this game. The Ohio State defense was as advertised, JTT is a monster of a run defender. Feels like they could've just used JJ instead of Alex Orji on the run plays out of the first half. Why didn't JJ run more? It didn't quite feel like the best game plan but it worked, also Ohio State's defense just played really well. Was the Roman Wilson touchdown throw the best throw we've ever seen a Michigan quarterback make? Playcalling on Michigan's last series wasn't great but otherwise it was great throughout the drive for draining seven minutes of clock. Cornelius Johnson didn't have the same explosive plays as last year but the catches he did have were arguably just as monumental. There's no question that Colston Loveland is going to catch the ball when the ball goes his way. 3. Hot Takes, Defense vs Ohio State Starts at 1:18:31 Takes hotter than Ryan Day's seat. Michigan's defense did exactly what we expected, Marvin Harrison Jr said he's never been doubled like that before. Michigan did a good job containing TreVeyon Henderson, Chip Trayanum was more effective. The secondary got interesting after Will Johnson got hurt. Why was Jimmy Rolder out there? Marvin Harrison Jr made some insane catches, especially the downfield one where he was held. Ryan Day didn't want to run CJ Stroud and he doesn't want to run Kyle McCord. Surprising lack of frippery between both offenses. McCord played surprisingly well under pressure. Quinten Johnson's big hit made the Big House as loud as we've ever heard. Michigan's rotation of players all season paid off in this one. 4. Game Theory, and Special Teams Starts at 2:08:44 Let's compare Ryan Day to James Franklin! Discussing all of Ohio State's punting situations. What about Michigan's, should they have gone for it on the final 4th and 4? Maybe it's better to let Colston Loveland win it for you than to have to defend Marvin Harrison Jr without Will Johnson. Ryan Day on 4th and 1 - WHAT ARE YOU DOING? A monster game from Tommy Doman. There were far fewer Ohio State fans in the stadium this year. Shout out to the giant Mike Sainristil head in the field rush. Roman Wilson's touchdown was absolutely a touchdown. Stadium replay - DON'T SHOW THE REPLAY IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO SHOW THE BALL. WE WERE EMOTIONALLY DISTRAUGHT. Also it was an incompletion, not a fumble. 5. Around the Big Ten with Jamie Mac Starts at 2:45:53 Iowa - 13 Nebraska - 10 The most Iowa win ever? They hit the game winning field goal with someone who has not kicked all year. The last ten minutes of this game was incredible. The Big Ten Championship Game should be about the same as two years ago. Northwestern - 45 Illinois - 43 In regulation! Northwestern amazingly finishes the regular season 7-5. Bert was angry at the end. Purdue - 35 Indiana - 31 Indiana head coach Tom Allen is fired after this game (and gets a $20 million buyout). Who does Indiana hire? Maryland - 42 Rutgers - 24 Maryland won this in the first quarter. Tagovailoa threw some dimes and that's all she wrote. Rutgers cannot play from behind. Taulia now leads the Big Ten in all time passing yards. Wisconsin - 28 Minnesota - 14 Hot seat time for PJ Fleck? Penn State - 42 Michigan State - 0 Total yards were 586 to 53. Offense vs Maryland Starts at 1:00 The annual "play like butt before the Ohio State game" game! JJ is banged up, how much did that effect him? Michigan turtled in this game after taking a convincing lead. The sun was brutal, looked like it made things difficult for receivers. Michigan's calls have been a bit predictable and they're not weaponizing play action as well as they could. The guards had a great game, the tackle situation just got more interesting.  2. Defense vs Maryland Starts at 33:30 This game was the full Taulia Tagovailoa experience - he does a few amazing things and then a couple terrible things. Ohio State's run offense isn't going to be much better than Maryland's. How much will Kyle McCord run against Michigan? Michigan rotated a lot this game but it feels like a lot of these guys deserved playing time. Would you rather go up against Taulia Tagovailoa or Kyle McCord next week?  3. Hot Takes, Game Theory, and Special Teams Starts at 1:02:15 Takes hotter than a Michigan fan watching a competitive game for the first time this year. It doesn't actually feel like the refs are out to get Michigan. The intentional grounding in the endzone never gets called so it was surprising. The two targeting no-calls felt right, the contact was not intentionally forceable on either. Tommy Doman earned 2 points on his punt that landed on the one. 31 points is too normal in a game where you scored two safeties. The wind must have been a factor on 4th down decision making for them not to kick field goals. 4. Around the Big Ten with NOT Jamie Mac Starts at 1:29:03 Iowa - 15 Illinois - 13 Iowa scored a safety to start the game. Iowa has clenched the Big Ten West despite having lost all their offensive weapons. Tory Taylor punts for 413 yards in an emotional senior day. If Michigan plays Iowa in Indy it will probably be like two years ago. Penn State - 27 Rutgers - 6 This game was about what you would expect. Drew Allar only has 79 passing yards but Rutgers was just never going to move the ball on this Penn State defense.  Michigan State - 24 Indiana - 21 Michigan State's win expectancy in this was 12% with less than three minutes left. This has to be the end of Tom Allen. Who does Indiana get after this (or Michigan State for that matter).  Northwestern - 23 Purdue - 15 Northwestern is bowl eligible! Purdue turns the ball over four times.  Wisconsin - 24 Nebraska - 17 Chubba Purdy and Tanner Mordecai are back. Nebraska needs to beat Iowa to get bowl eligible now.  Ohio State - 37 Minnesota - 3 This was the Michigan games sans that one big throw. Can you name the Ohio State backup QB that threw twice? Michigan could have a lot of new packages for Ohio State becuase we've seen so few all season.  MUSIC: “Debris”— Reigning Sound “Loving Cup”— The Rolling Stones “Unthinkable”—  Alicia Keys ft. Welcome back to the latest episode of the Young Terps podcast, where we recap what we right and wrong in Maryland's 37-17 loss at fourth-ranked Ohio State. Was Maryland's matchup against Ohio State a case of Maryland fumbling an upset? We dissect the game in Columbus.Maryland had a chance to come away with the win and for the first 30 minutes, they looked like the dominant team. Maryland found themselves up 10-0 midway through the second quarter before quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa threw his first of two interceptions on the day, giving Ohio State a pick-six to get themselves on the scoreboard. But what about Taulia's two interceptions were most concerning?Maryland was able to respond with a quick, efficient drive to open the second half, retaking a 17-10 lead, before the Buckeyes scored 27 unanswered points en route to the Terps' first loss of the 2023 season. What went wrong in the second half? Was Maryland trying to do too much? Was Maryland's fourth down attempt midway through the fourth quarter too early? We break down our instant reactions, plus highlight the key injuries both going into and coming out of Saturday's loss. With running back TreVeyond Henderson sidelined against the Buckeyes, we also take a look at how Maryland's defense fared after squaring off against Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka, a pair of future first-round picks.Make sure to follow Inside the Black and Gold on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to stay caught up with all of your latest Maryland athletics news!To catch up on previous Young Terps episodes, you can listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Podomatic and YouTube.

Both the Maryland Terps and the Ohio State Buckeyes are undefeated football teams in the Big 10. Lucky for us, they play each other in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday. The Buckeyes are coming off a bye week which followed their impressive road win against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in a battle of ranked teams. Meanwhile, the Maryland Terps have put up impressive offensive and defensive stats on their way to a perfect 5-0 start. The question remains; Are the Terps in the same league as the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Michigan Wolverines and the Penn State Nittany Lions? Their record says, "yes." But their schedule says, "hold on a moment!" The Maryland Terps earned their wins against Towson, Charlotte, Virginia, the Michigan State Spartans , and the Indiana Hoosiers. But wait! The Penn State Nittany Lions have played West Virginia, Delaware, and the Northwestern Wildcats. The Michigan Wolverines have played East Carolina, UNLV, and Bowling Green! Other than the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Ohio State has played the Indiana Hoosiers, Youngstown State, and Western Kentucky! Those were easy wins, right? What gives? For one thing, the Big 3 are all ranked and despite Maryland's perfect record, the Terps are unranked. Vegas also has the Terps as a 19 point dog Saturday. This means a lot of people don't believe the Maryland Terps are for real. That's why coach Mike Locksley and quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa circled Saturday on their calendar a long time ago. Locksley has been at Maryland long enough to establish his program with his recruits. Saturday is their turn to show where this program is. Either the Maryland Terps will show they belong or coach Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes will turn the Big 10 into a three team race. Plus, we review the Big 10 Players of the Week and post our weekly Big 10 Power Rankings on Locked on Big 10 with Craig Shemon.  Connect on Twitter:  https://twitter.com/talkbig10 Website: https://talkbig10.com   Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

Non-Conference Starts at 1:00 The non-conference is bad. That is all! David is excited for the ECU game! Last year was the Pirates' all-in season but now most of their good players are gone (except for their genuine 4-star quarterback). They're kind of like Mid-Tennessee State from a few years ago. UNLV has a new coach. UNLV discussion dissolves into discussions about Dug (as in like the show 'Dug'). They weren't ranked #12 at anything on The Enemy Ranked! That Ricky White is back. Connor Bazelak returns for Bowling Green (possibly with a better offensive line).  [The rest of the writeup and the player after THE JUMP] 2. B1G East Starts at 16:44 Indiana is really rough, there's a QB battle between two players nobody's really heard of. They lost a lot of guys to the portal. They did get Wisconsin's offensive line coach so there will be immediate improvement there at least. There could be 7-8 transfers starting on defense. Rutgers has a path to get to bowl eligibility, but it's a rough one (and involves beating Michigan State). They have a decent defense at least, but the offense won't be doing much. Michigan State loses Peyton Thorne and Keon Coleman in the spring which is pretty devastating for an offense that already was struggling. It's probably going to be Noah Kim at QB, and he probably won't have many open receivers to choose from. Their offensive line probably can't get worse, though. Maybe they go from 104th in Football Outsider's average line yards to 90th? The defensive line might be okay but their linebackers still can't run. Michigan State has a really tough schedule too, and they sold their home game against Penn State to Ford Field. Last year they had one thing and now that thing is gone. Maryland is the definition of a 7-on-7 program, they have no offensive or defensive lines. Taulia might be running for his life. Don't forget, Josh Gattis is the new offensive coordinator! Besides Saquon Barkley, what hyped up Penn State running back has picked apart Michigan? They're talented but will the offensive line carry them this season? They reload a bit at wide receiver. Drew Allar is a pure pocket passer (he's slow but not Navarre slow). Penn State has always had a quarterback that could solve problems with their legs and Allar doesn't bring that. They'll need their offensive line to be what it's supposed to be. The defense could make up the deficiencies on offense. DB Kalen King was such a huge miss for Michigan that Penn State took advantage of. Their depth is really good at linebacker.  Ohio State still has a quarterback competition and a lot of questions about the offensive line. They took a left tackle from San Diego State who wasn't a starter. The defensive ends didn't produce as much as they were supposed to last year and they ate up the offensive line in the spring game. We got to see how Kyle McCord performs under duress at least. There's no data on Devin Brown. Could this be a developmental season for their quarterback? When was the last time Ohio State had that? The wide receivers are still world-enders and the running back room is the second best in the conference. OL Donovan Jackson is in the running to be the best guard with Zak Zinter in the Big Ten, so there's that. What do you know about Jim Knowles' 'Jack' position? Defensive end depth doesn't have someone stepping up. It's not too much to ask that one of your mega five stars lives up to their expectation. Denzel Burke is popping up on first round draft boards because of his metrics but he's not been impressive, he didn't have much improvement in his 2nd year. Lathan Ransom had one of the worst games in The Game in recent memory, welcome back! If Sonny Styles hits, he could be Dax Hill ++. Who in their secondary is getting a star in the diagram? So far nobody. Tommy Eichenberg is the biggest star. Year two of Jim Knowles got better at Oklahoma State, but his year twos anywhere else weren't better. Why does every team have to have their own cute term for a nickel?  3. Hot Takes and B1G West Starts at 1:29:21 Takes hotter than the Michigan football program gosh darn it. Brian goes on a wonderful hot takes rant and had good news for Ohio State fans in Tampa.  Before the Northwestern scandal, you could maybe look at their schedule and see 3-4 wins. They even have a real quarterback now (and A.J. Henning). But now the coaching is a mess so they might be 1-11 again. Alex has a surprising amount of things to say about Northwestern. Matt Rhule isn't re-building Nebraska, he's just building Nebraska. They retained their offensive line coach, at least. The defensive line is a disgrace. Maybe they can weasel their way into six wins. They recruit talented players but those players just don't develop at all. Purdue might not be as bad as some people think, but it could also very well be a year zero scenario. First year head coach Ryan Walters has some work to do. The gang is split on whether Minnesota is good or not. They have a right tackle who can't pass block but is a monster in the ground game. Minnesota likes to fill their holes with transfers from Western Michigan. Tyler Nubin is a projected first round pick at safety. They might beat Michigan once or twice out of ten. There's always a game that's weirdly close and this could be the one.  Alex's biggest thing on Illinois is: NONE OF YOU BELIEVED HIM. Defense brings back a lot and should still be solid. Losing Chase Brown is big and nobody projects to be as good. The offensive line returns three starters and Isaiah Williams returns at receiver so there are still some good pieces. They won the Big Ten West lottery by not getting Michigan or Ohio State.  Iowa - if the offensive line could just be a 2017 Iowa OL then they would be really good. They would always have a tackle who was drafted highly. The wide receivers are questionable but they did get a transfer from Ohio State. Erick All will add some needed depth. If Cade McNamara is behind an offensive line that is 128th in line yardage then the game is over before it starts.  Wisconsin is going to look so weird this year. They have so much talent on this roster but how quickly can they adapt to the new coaching scheme? Tanner Mordecai is the third best QB in the conference? The offensive line is developed for a completely different scheme. The defense was 14th in SP+ and brings seven guys back. If the scheme comes together they're the favorite of the west, if it doesn't then there are a lot of teams that could step up.  4. Predictions, and Final Takes on the Season Starts at 2:09:04 Who wins the Big Ten West? Who wins the Big Ten East? Who makes the playoff? IS TEXAS BACK? How attainable is actually winning the National Championship? Michigan might not be recruiting at Georgia's level but is anyone better than Zak Zinter? Three flee flickers in a row will instill the fear of God.  MUSIC: “Mazel Tron”— BLP Kosher and Baby Tron “Nothing To You”— Michael Kiwanuka “Kindness Will Follow Your Tears”—  Lonnie Holley and Bon Iver “Across 110th Street”

Discussions about who you'd like to see on an ideal non-con schedule. Brian wants ND, Alex wants no one, David is in the middle. Hawaii has no one returning and will likely be horrible. UCONN's DC quit and that says it all. [The rest of the writeup and the player after THE JUMP] --------------------- 2. B1G East starts at 28:40 PSU's defense loses similar pieces to Michigan, Clifford is back, will the OL ever be better? MSU has more transfers, will the one-score luck run out? Indiana has a new screen-based offense and a rebuilding defense. Maryland has great receivers and Taulia, defense is atrocious… are we scared of them? Rutgers has a QB battle! OSU has a new defensive coordinator, can he fix the scheme, LBs, *and* DTs? Not worth talking about their offense 3. B1G West starts at 1:03:45 Iowa's offense is still despicable. Lose Goodson, lose WRs to Purdue, OL wasn't great, OC still incompetent. Defense should be great! Nebraska is a team we're mostly buying, lots of new shiny transfers, AND a special teams coordinator! Alex is buying Illinois long term but they shouldn't threaten Michigan at all. Wisconsin found a running game, Mertz is still questionable, but defense will be good if the factory is re-stocked. PJ Fleck/Jerry Kill discussion. Tanner Morgan and Mo Ibrahim return, OL/defense needs to be rebuilt for Minnesota. Purdue returns a great QB and TE… we like Jeff Brohm. Northwestern exists. B1G West will be all 8-4 teams. 4. Hot Takes, Predictions, and Final Takes on the Season starts at 1:44:24 Takes so hot it caused Brian to speak in tongues. Predictions on B1G West winner, B1G East winner, Michigan's record, offensive MVP, defensive MVP, and Who's Your Dude? Final takes on the season: feels like it's coming down to a trip to Columbus and Michigan may have re-established tactical parity with OSU. Oracle announced their fiscal 2022, Quarter three results. Total quarterly revenues were up 4% year-over-year to $10.5 billion. Fusion ERP Cloud Revenue is up 33% and NetSuite ERP Cloud Revenue is up 27%. Last week, SAP completed its acquisition of a majority stake of Taulia, a leading provider of working capital management solutions. Taulia's platform allows trading partners to determine payment terms with much more flexibility than traditional restrictions. Sage recently announced the launch of Sage Intaact Manufacturing in France. Vice President of Product for Sage, Rob Sinfield states, “Serving as a complementary solution within our portfolio to the more complex capabilities offered by Sage X3, Sage Intaact Manufacturing provides smaller manufacturing businesses with the opportunity to use best in class technology at a scale that suits them.” On a different note, Microsoft's Azure Quantum program has developed devices that can create quantum properties, which scientists have imagined for nearly a century. Microsoft's approach to building a quantum computer aims at creating more stable machines than those built with other types of known qubits, and therefore will be able to scale like no other has before.

It's Week 13 of the college football season and Thanksgiving weekend ... which traditionally means it's rivalry week. But 2020 has been far from normal (#WeHaveNoIdea), and so many of the usual matchups aren't on the schedule. However, what we lack in tradition, we make up for in an abundance of solid games spread out nicely over the long weekend.   We begin with a breakdown of the first College Football Playoff rankings, released just moments before this episode was recorded. Who got snubbed? What team could make a move into the Top 4? And who do we need to talk to about Cincinnati and BYU?   Next, we hear from AJ, who again has a stellar buffet of #GroupOfFiveAfterDark and #Pac12AfterDark games to highlight.   And then, we dig into our unconventional Thanksgiving weekend lineup ... which feels pretty appropriate for 2020.    No. 2 Notre Dame at No. 19 North Carolina (3:30 ET Friday, ABC): The Irish enter after a bye week ... and they may just need it, facing the high-powered Tar Heels offense. (Yes, that's a thing we just said.)   Maryland at No. 12 Indiana (Noon ET Saturday, ESPN2): It turns out that the Hoosiers are a legit good team, even if Carla's still really tired of talking about them. (Crappy's discomfort last weekend confirms this.) If Maryland can play, is Taulia ready for this defense?   No. 22 Auburn at No. 1 Alabama (3:30 ET Saturday, CBS): Weird things can happen in rivalry games. We say that every year. But no team has come close to stopping the Tide's offense in 2020, and Auburn's not built for a shootout.   Honorable mentions this week go to No. 13 Iowa State at No. 17 Texas (Noon ET Friday, ABC) because somehow the Longhorns are favored, Mississippi State at Ole Miss (4 ET Saturday, SEC Network) because we've waited a long time for Leach vs. Kiffin, and No. 11 Oklahoma at West Virginia (7:30 ET Saturday, ABC) because strange things happen in Morgantown on Thanksgiving weekend. Meanwhile, Crappy makes a bold prediction for Penn State at Michigan (Noon ET Saturday, ABC).   So grab those socially acceptable bowls of leftover mashed potatoes, toss in a bit of warmed-up turkey, and settle in for a good, long weekend of college football. Happy Thanksgiving, yinz guys.

It's Week 11 of the college football season and, well, everything is just ... weird. And that's not even taking into account everything that's happened since we recorded this show on Tuesday night. Half of the weekend's SEC slate has now been postponed due to Covid-related issues. Teams from Florida State to LSU are losing players due to extended injuries, transfers, and opt-outs, with Carla being most devastated by the retirement announcement from Penn State RB Journey Brown. (We'll have more on that next week.) And, of course, the one that hurts us the most this week is the cancelation of Ohio State at Maryland. So, yeah. Sigh. Maybe we should stop recording on Tuesdays? Who knows. Anyway ... After looking back at last weekend's games, particularly the lackluster Cocktail Party and the upset in South Bend, we hear from AJ, who offers us a bit of brighter news regarding the #GroupOfFiveAfterDark. And then, well, we get on with ... whatever it is that's left this week. Penn State at Nebraska (Little Nude Saturday, FS1): One of these storied programs will get its first win of the season. And that's why we're talking about it. Because who predicted that? No. 3 Ohio State at Maryland (canceled): Crappy was having heartburn over his Buckeyes defense facing Taulia, who has settled in nicely at Maryland. Oh well. No. 23 Northwestern at Purdue (7:30 p.m. ET, BTN): Raise your hand if you had this game as being a battle for tops in the B1G West? Because that's exactly what it is. We give an honorable mention to No. 9 Miami at Virginia Tech (Noon ET, ESPN2), because why are the Hokies favored at home over a Top Ten opponent one week after losing to Liberty? Also worth noting — No. 2 Notre Dame should be wary of its trip to Boston College (3:30 ET, ABC), because if Clemsoning is transitive ... Try to make the most of it this weekend, friends. We'll put on our Coastal Carolina hats and root the chickens to 8-0. Because, once again, Coastal is the ray of hope we all need in the midst of this chaotic season. Cheers, yinz.
