It's always fun to explore with my wife Sheena, I'm always appreciative when we get to go check out a new race together. We did this in June when we went to “The Wildness” stage race at Panorama Resort. This was especially cool because Sheena doesn't run, so it meant she'd have a whole resort to keep her entertained while I was on course at this event, how fun!I was thrilled to take on the beautiful and challenging course, and even more so when I was able to think about Sheena enjoying a coffee, taking a sightseeing chairlift ride, or riding the awesome mountain coaster. It was great knowing we were both enjoying our days in different ways, and it was really cool coming together at the finish line and celebrating the rest of the day together! Registration for the 2026 Wildness opens at 9:00 am Wednesday August 13 (tomorrow!!!)We're even more stoked because we get to give out an entry to next year's race! Just check out the post on Instagram and enter there. All you need to do is comment and tag someone you think would like the event, super easy! The winner will also get a sweet Rossignol water bottle and running hat, as will four others. So even if you don't win the main prize, you can still get some awesome Rossy swag. Get over and enter while you can!Listen where you listenSpotify: Click HereApple Podcasts: Click HereMusic by Paolo Argentino from PixabayWe're on the journey to 2,000 subscribers, help us get there! If you enjoy this podcast, I would really appreciate it if you could like, share, subscribe, or comment! Read the full transcript here. What is obsessive compulsive personality disorder (OCPD), and how does it compare to obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)? Why is it relatively prevalent and yet also relatively unheard-of? What can people with OCPD do well? What does OCPD feel like from the inside? Which fictional characters might have OCPD? How do people with OCPD typically engage with religion? How can you have better relationships with people in your life who have OCPD? What should you do if you think you or someone you know might have OCPD? What are some treatments for it that actually work? After struggling with the traits and symptoms of OCPD since childhood, Darryl Rossignol spent a decade deconstructing his own personality disorder and putting the pieces back together. In 2015, he launched a YouTube channel to document his journey. Within a few years, the project had reached tens of thousands of people in need. By 2022, the need for more was clear. With the assistance of some of the top OCPD mental health professionals, he was able to launch The OCPD Foundation. This foundation is now dedicated to assisting those with OCPD to successfully find the help that they need. Watch Darryl's videos on YouTube, learn more about OCPD at ocpd.org, or email Darryl at darryl@ocpd.org. It's the best of times, it's the worst of time when you need new ski boots. Some cool new innovations from K2, Rossignol and Armada have recently hit the market and we take a closer look.
After a great day of skiing together, Jonathan talked with Jake Stevens (Rossignol's Winter Sports Equipment Director for North America) about world-cup race skis vs. recreational skis: what do they have in common; how do they incorporate technological advances; and what are the available options between skis designed to win gold medals and those designed to have fun on the weekends with your family and friends? It's a conversation that is guaranteed to get you thinking about various approaches to the mountain — and your own approach to sliding around on snow.RELATED LINKS:OpenSnow.com/buy - code: blister50Our Blister Rec Shop: Spokane Alpine Haus5850 Fest, Ketchum, IdahoBLISTER+ Get Yourself CoveredJoin Us! Is Lewis Rossignol an illustrator, visual storyteller or a comedian? And what IS the secret of drawing an Australian or a person with Down's Syndrome? In this episode Lewis shares his journey from a non-creative background to becoming a successful visual artist with a jittery, nervous style that somehow captures more of the essence of his subject than a more traditional portrait In the discussion, Lewis emphasizes the importance of humor in his work, the value of embracing negativity, and the idea of drawing what you think rather than what you see. Lewis Rossignol is an American visual artist known for his loose illustrations where he uses multiple mediums and collage. Rossignol has worked for many clients, including Tyler the Creator, Adult Swim, Brad Garrett, and Mark Hoppus' clothing brand, I am Mark. When Dr. Jeffrey Rosenbluth left med school for his first job at the University of Utah in 2001, he already had a vision in mind. A skier himself, he wanted to bring that wind-in-your-face sensation of the sport to those who didn't have the same personal mobility. Fast forward to today, Dr. Rosenbluth's pioneering initiative has led to TetraSki – a device that combines medical science with engineering to create remarkable opportunities for individuals with physical disabilities. In this episode of Last Chair, we head to the Mobility Garage of the University of Utah's Craig H. Neilsen Rehabilitation Hospital, speaking with Dr. Jeffrey Rosenbluth, along with program director of TRAILS Adaptive Tanja Kari, a six-time Paralympic champion cross country skier who was one of the heroes of the 2002 Paralympic Winter Games in Utah.TetraSki is truly a revolutionary mobility tool in sport. It features a customized chair attached to a pair of Rossignol skis. The engineering brains of TetraSki allow the operator to control the skis through a simple joystick. And if the skier doesn't have the body functionality to manipulate the joystick, there's a breathing tube – blow in or suck out, and the skis respond. A new innovation can also be attached to a functioning muscle, where muscular reflects are converted into ski movement.Yes, this is real! And there are now around two dozen TetraSkis around the world, providing mobility opportunities to those who might never have conceived that they might ski.Growing up in Los Angeles, Rosenbluth would always look for opportunities to get up to Utah for skiing. Wanting to spend his career in spinal cord injury medicine, when he saw a job opportunity in Salt Lake City he jumped at it.“After the first couple of years of getting settled here, it was obvious that we had this really tight, enthusiastic campus – people with engineering backgrounds and clinical backgrounds, other scientific backgrounds, and then the access to the outdoors is just unprecedented,” he recalled. “I don't think there's another academic center that has this. So there was just an obviousness to where we were heading and getting people excited about building new devices and getting out there and trying new programs – that was an easy sell.”Early in his tenure, he created TRAILS Adaptive – an acronym combining technology, recreation, access, independence, lifestyle, sports. TRAILS provided the first pathway to provide wellness programs and real opportunities for individuals. Kari was a young Finnish cross country skier when she visited Utah for the first time at the 2002 Winter Games. What stood out to her was that the same organizing committee managed both the Olympics and Paralympics – the first time ever! “We felt the difference in the Games for that,” she said, “in the level of expertise and perfectionism. It was just unbelievable for us.” Three years later, she found her way back and has now made Utah her home. She found a home at TRAILS Adaptive for very similar reasons. “As a Paralympian and being involved in this world for a long time in different roles, the fact that we have this mentality and space in the rehabilitation hospital – being able to meet those patients right when they're here with us and sharing the methods of active living – is really important to me.”It's easy to geek out at the engineering in TetraSki today. However, the brilliance behind it goes back 20 years as Dr. Rosenbluth began mapping out the vision he brought from med school. “It was just this recognition that you couldn't just open up shop with just sports,” he said. “You had to really think about advocacy. You had to think about sports deeper than just participation – how could you be as independent at that sport as possible? And what if you didn't have transportation? You'd never be able to come and do the sport.“I thought at first we were really more of a think tank, going through all the different ways we could take folks, especially with more complex disabilities, and get them to participate more frequently to create life sports for some of our complex patients – and then do it at the highest level of independence and performance.”Ski Utah's Last Chair podcast with Dr. Jeffrey Rosenbluth and Tanja Kari takes you inside one of the most innovative labs in the sport. It's a fascinating – and emotional – journey showcasing the work being done at the University of Utah to provide the gift of skiing to those who can't click into their bindings the same way that we do.
From The Wine Conversation (wine-conversation.com)"Episode Summary: In our latest 10-Minute Masterclass, Jasper Morris MW, author of “Inside Burgundy,” takes a look at the appellation of Volnay, which is situated in the Côte de Beaune, a couple of villages south of Beaune itself. Historically, Jasper explains, Volnay has greater significance than most Côte d'Or villages, as the Dukes of Burgundy built a summer palace there – many of the vineyards have the title “Duc” in their name.Volnay's terroir is a mix of limestone and clay, but Jasper explains that Volnay is known for its more “active limestone, which means it comes through and gets into the vines itself and the wines, making them lighter, fresher and more perfumed.” There are more Premier Cru Volnay vineyard – 115 hectares, than Village Volnay, which has 98 hectares. The appellation runs from Pommard in the north to the south of Meursault, where the reds are known as Volnay Santenots. Some of the most well-known vineyards are around the village: Clos des Ducs, Clos de la Caves des Ducs, Clos du Château des Ducs, and at the southern end above the main road, the D973, you have Clos des Chênes, and Taille Pieds, whilst below is one of the greatest, Cailleret (of which, someone in the 17th century said, “If you don't have vines in Cailleret, then you don't know what Volnay is.”)There are not many producers in the village of Volnay itself, though some have vineyards there, such as Domaine Lafon. The name you will come across most will be the Rossignol family, in one form or another. Blue-chip names found there include Marquis d'Angerville, Domaine Michel Lafarge, Domaine de la Pousse d'Or, and Domaine De Montille. Jasper's tip for up-and-coming producers are Thomas Bouley and his cousin Kieran Bouley, as well as Georges Glantenay, and Bernard and Thierry Glantenay. “The one I like a lot and is excellent value and under the radar, is Domaine Buffet,” Jasper concludes.Volnay produces wines slightly lighter in colour, but “it's the perfume that makes Volnay so special,” Jasper notes. He advises, “one of the things I find particularly interesting is when the wines are young Volnay seems nice, or very nice, in the hands of a great practitioner, but if you happen to have a bottle of 30 to 40 years of age and you drink it in a mix of really top wines from the Côte de Nuits, Grands Crus from famous villages, the Volnay really holds up, it is more exciting and hedonistic with age.”Vintages to look out for: “2017 is absolutely delicious now,” he says. Jasper also suggests 2007,2010 and 2011 for being very attractive now. He also reveals “the years ending in nine are particularly good in Volnay.”"You can also find Jasper's guest appearances on other Podcast/Video channels we work closely with: The Wine Conversation 67 Pall Mall TV Bringing Burgundy closer to you with every episode!Subscribe to my website and get full access to my scores, tasting notes, detailed write-ups on producers and much more:https://www.insideburgundy.com/register/See all our events at: https://www.insideburgundy.com/all-events/Daily updates on our Instagram: @jaspermorris.insideburgundy

Luke Edgar has had a legendary career in building lifestyle brands and keeping them not only relevant but in demand. What makes Luke's story so wild is that while his history goes back to the early days of snowboarding, the reason he pursued a career in “action sports” is because he learned to surf while he was in the army. And when he got out, his life revolved around snowboarding when the sport was in its infancy in the PNW. On the podcast we talk about the early PNW snowboard scene, modeling, Craig Kelly, trade shows, getting sponsored, K2 and so much more. John O'Connor asks the Inappropriate Questions. Scotty Lago has a path to pro snowboarding that's different than almost anyone I've interviewed. Most high school dropouts don't have Olympic Medals to go along with a grip of X Games and Dew Tour hardware, but that's what Scotty Lago did. Along the way, he was part of the legendary Frends Crew, he filmed with Grenade, he filmed with Travis Rice for the biggest movies in snowboard history, and he did it all while riding for Flow Snowboards. When all was said and done, Scotty didn't retire into the sunset; he's now following his other passion of hunting, and just like in his snowboard career, he's already a sponsored hunter, and who knows how bug that world can get for Scotty. This is a fun podcast with an unfiltered legend and former Flow TM, Andrew Mutty asks the Inappropriate Questions.
