Reports of giant bones have been documented around the world for hundreds of years. Giants are in biblical literature, paintings, folklore, and, in more modern times, giant skeletons have been found and reported on all over North America. This would, in some cases, make the newspapers, giving us an opportunity to look back and add up the evidence today. Along with the giant megalithic structures that we can find around the world and fossilised giant tracks, it makes sense that giants once walked our planet or possibly still do. Since around 1850, there have literally been thousands of reports of giant bones. leaving a trail of evidence for our guest today! We welcome historian and researcher Travis Roy of Giants of Ancient America. Travis has unearthed and reported hundreds of cases of giants in our history and shares his wealth of knowledge on this topic. Travis also shares his incredible experiences with Bigfoot. Possibly being surrounded by a family of Sasquatch that seemed to be communicating in their own language. With over 1,000+ documented findings of actual giant bones across North America, he is on a mission to share a side of history that most were never taught. Why has all this been hidden from the public? Why did the Smithsonian hide the evidence? Could giants still be around today? Giant TRACKS IN TEXAS?! That's right. We found the proof and sent our pal Travis Roy from Giants of Ancient America to document it. Travis is a historian who archives newspapers that reported the findings of these giants from 1850-1940. But now we have more physical proof in stone that these stories were more than just wives tales. Gene and cohost Tim Swartz talk about the legends and reality behind so-called giants over the years with researcher Travis Roy. According to Roy, giants roamed America in the ancient past, building fortifications and erecting massive burial and temple worship mounds. In actuality, he says, this race of titans roamed the earth, leaving their esteemed deceased within tumuli of earth and stone. Their handiwork can still be seen across the globe. Current history texts attribute a more-modern native approach to be the builders of such works (stone and dirt pyramids, Easter island heads, megalithic monuments etc.), but Roy speculates that another race is responsible. He states that their bones have been discovered by archaeologists and anthropologists of the not-too-distant past. Newspapers once reported the findings of these skeletons. From 1850-1940 they constantly made the news. But then they suddenly stopped. Why? A conspiracy perhaps?
Another special guest is here! Travis Roy from Cinema 9 & 1993-94: A Music Podcast. Travis is an old friend of Luke & Mike, so expect fireworks on this episode. I wish I could write more, but I have to go Taco Bell. Just know this episode is filled with music, movies, political infighting and a bunch of random audio clips like every other episode. Travis is a willing and fair participant as Luke gives it to him with both barrels. We love you all! We close this session with a selection from Travis called Life Of Crime by The Laughing Hyenas. If any of this nonsense strikes you, please email the show isitsafepod@gmail.com to explain why.
Welcome back to Silver Pilled! In this episode we were thrilled to be joined by historian and researcher Travis Roy. Travis has dedicated a huge amount of his time to look for old newspaper articles that describe the discovery and excavation of ancient bones found in North America and all over the world. In most of the articles that Travis has found, the bones belonged to an ancient race of giants. In other cases, the bones belonged to something much stranger. Travis shares some of the many stories and articles that he has found. We had a great time and learned A LOT from Travis. Make sure you check out his social media accounts and show him love and support! Lobey, Lynchie and Hank discuss Bill Belichick and why he is making excuses for why his team is struggling this season. Do Your Job, coach. He has never done this before, but the Patriots haven't struggled like this during his two decades as head coach. The guys introduced their new feature "Meatball of the Week", sponsored by Our Best Foods and Our Best Meatball. Lobey and Hank picked the same "Meatball of the Week", but Lynchie had a different one. Lynchie was also very excited about voting and was wearing multiple "I Voted" stickers. You can see it in our video version of the podcast. Also, WHY does Belichick treat the media so poorly? He was at his worst after Sunday's 24-21 loss in Buffalo and embarrassed a reporter who asked a question everyone knew the answer to. Jim Rice was famous for smoking guys in interviews and Hank talks about the time Rice got him in 1986. Finally, we pay tribute again to the late Travis Roy, the former Boston University hockey player, who died last week at the age of 45, almost exactly 25 years after he suffered a paralyzing injury in his first shift ever for the Terriers.

As the calendar turns to November we continue on with the fall off-season. The Boston Bruins have not made any moves with their remaining free agents, Zdeno Chara and Jake DeBrusk. We talk about the lack of movement on both fronts and what could happen if Sweeney were to make a move. Having only one viable left defenseman is not an answer. Could help come from the trade market? Speaking of trades, Vincent Parise in Chicago suggested a hatred inducing idea...trade Patrick Kane. As we discuss, this is something the 'Hawks should consider doing now. Where would be good places to land? The Islanders and Blue Jackets are two spots we posit. Tyler Seguin was scheduled to have surgery on his torn labrum however this has been pushed back due to the current situation in Dallas. Should he find the answer elsewhere? Also, with the announcement of a start date for the AHL, what would happen to prospects not on NHL teams...expanded rosters! Is this a viable option? Finally, we remember Travis Roy and wish his family our condolences and prayers. He touched many lives with his motivational speaking and the Travis Roy Foundation. We wish him rest in peace, but also a much deserved "Thank You" for all that he has done and accomplished. Let us know what is on your mind during this break and Enjoy the Show!
Josh and Kayla discuss the passing of Travis Roy, no forechecking in the OHL next season, the Dallas Stars' new alternate jersey, Rick Bowness' interim tag removed as head coach of the Stars, Bergeron as Elmo, and a fantastic short interview with Steve Cangialosi in honor of Doc Emrick. Cangy was the New Jersey Devils play-by-play successor of Doc Emrick.

He also rebuked criticisms of President Trump’s refusal to address the QAnon conspiracy theory. Salem Mayor Kim Driscoll talked about the experience of leading her city through Halloween season during the coronavirus pandemic, and discussed what’s being done to keep Witch City residents safe – and tourists at bay. Beat the Press host Emily Rooney reflected on the passing of Travis Roy, a former hockey player-turned activist and motivational speaker. She also discussed news of the unmasked "anonymous" Trump staffer, and read a pre-election list of fixations and fulminations. Under the Radar host Callie Crossley talked about the perforce of moderator Kristen Welker at the last presidential debate, and specifically her handling of questions about race and “the talk” that nonwhite parents have with their children in the U.S. She also touched on how grocery chain Trader Joe's has managed to weather economic storm of the pandemic, and previewed Sunday’s episode of Under the Radar. We closed the show by opening our lines to talk with listeners about the shows, movies, and music you’re taking in to offset the unease of this pre-election moment.

Travis Roy was a hockey standout with a promising career ahead of him. But then everything changed in an instant. A tragic accident left the talented young hockey player paralyzed from the neck down. But Roy refused to let his story end there. In fact, his injury was just the beginning of something incredible.
With Mitch on the road again, Jayson goes it alone with UND Athletics’ version of the Most Interesting Man in the World, Mark Poolman. The longtime athletic trainer and strength coach for the men’s hockey program, Poolman is also father to Colton and Tucker Poolman, both of whom developed into standout defenseman at North Dakota. We ask Mark about his new life as an NHL dad, how Tucker almost gave up the hockey dream along the way, and how he separates “Dad” from “Coach” around the rink. We also discuss his own collegiate career as a receiver for the UND football team, how he accidentally got recruited, the downtown brawl between the hockey and football teams that led to his first job as a Zamboni driver, and why he wanted Coach Roger Thomas to be meaner – and why he was wrong about that. Finally, Mark talks about his career as an athletic trainer, the evolution of treating head injuries, the situations involving Travis Roy, Robbie Bina, Chay Genoway, and the relationship between trainer and coach. A fascinating conversation that just might require a follow-up visit from the trainer!
Eleven seconds was all it took. Eleven seconds stopped cold a promising hockey career scarcely before it started - all on live television. Travis Roy was a promising 20-year-old hockey star, moments into his first collegiate game as a B.U. freshman, a freak accident cracked his fourth vertebra left him paralyzed from the neck down. One misdirected check in the most important hockey game of his life sent Travis Roy crashing into the boards and ended his dreams of hockey greatness. Instead of fulfilling his lifelong dream, he now found himself paralyzed and a quadriplegic. Yet he sees his life’s glass not as half empty or half full but as overflowing! How did Roy deal with such a dramatic shift in his life? What lessons can you take to overcome obstacles How did Roy deal with such a dramatic shift in his life? What lessons can you take to overcome obstacles in your own? This optimist talks about his challenges and the strategies he has used to cope, including starting a foundation to help others in a similar predicament. Lessons: 1.
