Moonlit seaweeds. Dreamy underwater forests. Mounds of beach debris. Not plants. Let's talk about where seaweed grows and whether or not it will save us all. Macrophycology means “big-ass algae” so let's join five dazzling seaweed enthusiasts: guest-in-chief Dr. Patrick Martone of the University of British Columbia, UConn Professor Emeritus and “grandfather of seaweed farming” Dr. Charlie Yarish, seagrass scientist Becky Swerida, and marine science PhD students Danielle McHaskell and Angela Jones. We'll chat about what's hidden in its cells, the best ones to eat, how fast it grows, how deep it gets, cold vs. tropical seaweeds, what to do if your vacation pictures feature mounds of sargassum, and whether or not kelp can kill a chicken. In next week's episode, you'll hear all about the aquaculture of cultivating and eating things from the seaweed to shellfish to shrimp farmed in a basement doughboy. Not really a two parter but two episodes that are friends and hang out in the same circles. Step back over a thousand years with Mythlok as we explore the mysterious and awe-inspiring Cahokia Mounds—a massive ancient city built by the Mississippian people in pre-Columbian North America. From towering earthen pyramids and Woodhenge to theories about its mysterious decline, we reveal why Cahokia was more than a city — it was a living monument to indigenous ingenuity and cosmic alignment. Discover how to visit, when to go, and why this sacred site still speaks to us today.
Methane is often overlooked in the climate change discourse, as against carbon. Methane is over 80 times more potent at trapping heat in the atmosphere over a 20-year period. Released from sources like livestock, landfills, and leaky oil and gas infrastructure, methane is a tricky problem to solve. In this episode we understand what methane emissions are and how to plug them. Cutting methane emissions can be one the fastest ways to slow global warming. For this relevant issue, we talked with Hisham Mundol, Chief Advisor in India to the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF). Mundol is a seasoned development sector executive with experience in both government and private entities.Full transcript of the episode is available in EnglishPresented by 101ReportersHisham Mundol is on Twitter and LinkedInFollow TIEH podcast on Twitter, Linkedin & YouTubeOur hosts, Shreya Jai on Twitter, Linkedin & Dr. Sandeep Pai on Twitter, Linkedin

Deep beneath Earth's mountains lie secrets that could reshape our understanding of human history and technological capability. Mountains like Shasta, Hayes, and the pyramids of Giza possess qualities that defy conventional explanation - perfect alignments, unusual magnetic properties, and inexplicable energy signatures. Military agencies have spent decades investigating these peaks through classified programs, and witnesses report strange phenomena that science struggles to explain. Ancient texts speak of mountains harboring tremendous power and describe technologies that sound remarkably similar to modern energy generation and distribution concepts. Some of these mountains contain facilities that seamlessly integrate human and non-human operations, suggesting cooperation beyond what official sources acknowledge. The evidence points to a hidden truth: many of Earth's most prominent peaks might serve purposes far beyond their natural geological roles.
In this episode, I talk about what I believe are/could be mounds pretty close to where I live, and how parks might be parks for a reason, more than they're just pretty. I also get into an interesting experience I had on what might be a "Mound" that I visited today. What if I told you that the European colonists who made their way to the New World not only found a thriving culture previously settled by Native Americans, but also began to discover the remains of another culture that seemed to predated the Native Americans by thousands of years? As their wagon-trains pushed westward, why did these settlers often find giant earthen mounds engineered with an ancient knowledge and mathematics that had withstood the ages of time? And to their amazement, when these colonists would often dig inside of these mounds, why would they find the remains of skeletons measuring anywhere from seven to ten feet in length, often buried with copper ornaments and weapons? And why did reputable newspapers like the New York Times publish these strange accounts by the thousands all the way up until the early 1900s?
Scientists discover giant mounds dating back billions of years. Why is this significant? We ask lead researcher Dr Joe McNeil from London's Natural History Museum. A bill to formally provide federal protections to the Ocmulgee Mounds in Georgia is making progress in Congress. If approved, it would establish the state's first National Park and Preserve overseen by the National Park Service. The land is the ancestral home of the Muscogee Creek Nation and other tribes. The preservation momentum comes as several other locations look to better document and protect mounds. In Wisconsin, officials identified two mounds in Milwaukee's oldest cemetery. We'll get updates on recent efforts to recognize and preserve mounds.

In today's shenanigan infused journey, your host Double J & guests Nick & Theresa discuss the murders of an elderly couple, Russell & Shirley Dermond, in Lake Oconee, GA in May 2014...and the possible connections to the Ancient Alien Cargo Cult, the Nuwaubian Nation - via the membership of the cult, the Nuwaubians. It appears that a Nuwaubian murdered the elderly murder victims' adult son, Mark Dermond, 14 years prior to their murder in 2000. Your host, Double J & guest Nick & Theresa also share their thoughts on the potential occult connections to the murders & the Ancient Alien Cargo Cult, the Nuwaubians, primarily via Freemasonry...both official & "unofficial"! Lastly, the murders of the elderly couple, Russell & Shirley Dermond, just happened to occur on a "Mound" site. So, your host Double J shares his thoughts on how the murder of the Dermonds has the appearance of a ritual human sacrifice on a Mound site. It seems that modern day human sacrifices are occurring at the precise same location of human sacrifice in ancient America, the "Mounds"! Anyhow, folks of the interwebs...thanks for join'n me to get a lil GCD! Enjoy the conversation on Mounds, Murder, & an Ancient Alien Cargo Cult! Howdy folks of the interwebs! Your host Double J is back with another edition of OpGCD Live! show. Today, Double J is joined by the host of the Occult Rejects, Nick, to discuss the "secret society" that started America - the Society of the Cincinnati. In today's shenanigan infused journey, your host Double J & guest Nick discuss the recent repeated declarations of political radio host and Trump associate, Steve Bannon, asserting that Donald Trump is "Cincinnatus"! As a result of these recent repeated declarations it seemed appropriate to recap and summarize some thoughts on the Society of the Cincinnati. Your host, Double J shares his thoughts on the ancient architecture of America - The Mounds, and how these artifacts of an ancient civilization in America are of the same age as the man venerated by the Society of the Cincinnati, the ancient ruler of the Roman Republic - Cincinnatus. So, given the extreme importance of the Mounds to the men who started America, the Society of the Cincinnati. Perhaps there are some further connections between the ancient architecture of America, the Mounds, and the man known as Cincinnatus. Visiting ancient mounds & earthworks in the United States is a great way to introduce you and your family to some of the most unappreciated archaeological treasures in the world. The largest and most complex geometric earthworks in the world, made about 2,000 years ago, are in America. There are thousands of ancient mound sites, some with associated museums, that show the history of an extensive civilization that was found all over America in 1492. There were tens of thousands of hamlets, villages, towns, and even cities here with populations up to 50,000 people residing in the area surrounding mound complexes. These towns and cities were often fortresses with high palisade walls protecting the elite, who resided on the massive mounds. This ancient mound culture likely had its start around 9,000 B.C., but by 3,000 B.C. or so mound building took off and dominated the continent. It is known that over 100,000 mound sites, some having over 100 mounds, were constructed by this culture, which all but vanished after incursions by the Spanish in the early 1500s spread diseases that decimated the population. Within two generations, the indigenous populations declined by 90 to 95 percent and by 1600 mound building all but ceased. However, this culture made some of the most exquisite and mysterious ceremonial artifacts ever found in the world, some of which are displayed at site museums. America's Mound Builders represent a forgotten part of history, one that merits as much appreciation as any other ancient civilization. In this first volume of the Native American Mound & Earthwork Field Journal, a brief history of this amazing culture is presented. The various types of mounds and earthworks they made, the dates of various mound cultures, and many of their key spiritual beliefs are presented in this easy-to-understand book. The role of shaman and Medicine People within their society is explained in a straight forward manner as well as a simple method to mentally connect with sites when you visit, should you desire to do so. Over 30 photos and illustrations are also found in the book. The importance of keeping notes as you visit sites is stressed and the types of things you might want to record at each location are presented. There are 65 formatted "blank" pages in the book where you can write field notes, and there is a sample page included from the author's own field journal.A list of 51 major sites open to the public is in the book along with 34 museums. This episode, the gals try to cure Macy's migraine by snorting some 'Tec, but they may have gotten a bit carried away. Mounds is a sponsor, and Theda fields a call from a rock legend.
Tonight, we have a special guest, archaeologist Fritz Zimmerman, who will discuss the paranormal activity surrounding burial mounds containing the remains of ancient giants. This is a compilation of historical accounts that contradict everything we have been taught about ancient America. The accounts are substantiated by the testimony of the Native Americans who lived in the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley regions of North America. American Indians speak of a people who were skilled in arts and engaged in trade whose remains could be found in the burial mounds. These legends are validated by the hundreds of miles of canals extending into the Mississippi River and the extensive copper and lead mines. Early settlers in the Ohio Valley described ancient cities with well-defined evidence of streets laid out at regular intervals and intersected at right angles with other streets. Stone macadamized roads were also evidence of an industrious people engaged in commerce. New information from the British Isles places the Celtic peoples on the Island earlier than previously believed. The Celtic pagan religion is superimposed on ancient sites in the Ohio Valley with indistinguishable characteristics. Ancient ceremonial sites in the Ohio Valley are re-examined under the looking glass of the Celtic Gods and Goddesses. The ancient mound builders practiced a cult of the dead and buried their deceased in burial mounds to act as portals to connect the living with the dead. These portals remain open today and are the gateways for much of the paranormal activity found in the Great Lakes region. While not the focus of the stories presented, many of the skeletons discovered at the ancient sites were of gigantic size. The connection to the paranormal is elaborated in the Book of Enoch.
