El Tour de Francia 2026 ya tiene banda sonora: Energía!, del grupo catalán Doctor Prats, será la canción oficial que pondrá a bailar a los fanáticos del deporte de las bielas a partir del 4 de julio de 2026. RFI viajó a Cataluña para saber cómo se prepara este “Grand Départ”, un hito para Barcelona. El próximo 4 de julio, el espectáculo deportivo más grande del mundo arrancará en Barcelona con una contrarreloj por equipos de 19 kilómetros, partiendo desde el Port Olímpic. Para Christian Prudhomme, director del Tour de Francia, la elección de la capital catalana no fue casualidad. El prestigio de Barcelona como sede de hitos como los Juegos Olímpicos, el Mundial de Fútbol y la Copa América pesó en la balanza. “Lo que nos cautivó fue, evidentemente, el prestigio de la ciudad. Es la belleza del lugar, el mar justo al lado, las colinas y, por supuesto, las pendientes”, explica Prudhomme. El director destaca que la geografía barcelonesa permitirá un inicio "deportivamente contundente" con la subida a Montjuïc: "Una pendiente del 9% en más de un kilómetro y medio significa que los mejores corredores del mundo se medirán desde el primer fin de semana". La Sagrada Familia para la presentación de los equipos Dos días antes de que ruede el pelotón, los 23 equipos serán presentados frente a una joya de la arquitectura mundial: la Sagrada Familia. Daniela Longobardi, guía oficial del templo, describe la obra de Gaudí como "un resumen de toda su arquitectura", coronada ahora por la gran cruz tridimensional de la Torre de Jesucristo, que a 172,5 metros de altura ha transformado el horizonte de la ciudad. La salida del Tour coincidirá con el centenario de la muerte de Antoni Gaudí. El arquitecto, que falleció en 1926 tras ser atropellado por un tranvía, veía su obra como algo que trascendería su propia vida. Según relata Longobardi: “Gaudí decía que no le importaba dejar el proyecto en manos de otros; tenía la idea de este edificio como un proyecto colectivo”. Esa misma esencia colectiva define al Tour, donde 183 ciclistas y sus gregarios trabajan unidos para que un líder pueda, finalmente, "pintarse de amarillo".   Tarragona: historia romana y empuje económico La música no dejará de sonar en la segunda etapa, que partirá de Tarragona. El guía Xabier Mejuto Nogués invita a los visitantes a recorrer la "Part Alta", el centro histórico amurallado que se asienta sobre una antigua acrópolis romana. “Nos encontramos en el interior de lo que fue un circo, un hipódromo romano. Tarraco fue la capital de la Hispania Citerior”, recuerda Mejuto. El comercio local también espera con ansias el evento. Cristina López, directora del restaurante "Cuatro Latas", asegura que ya se están preparando para la llegada masiva de visitantes: “Estamos muy entusiasmados. Es una zona muy turística con público francés, inglés y holandés. ¡Benvinguts a la Tour de França de 2026!”. Deportivamente, la segunda etapa será un reto de 182 kilómetros desde la Costa Daurada hasta Barcelona. Thierry Gouvenou, director deportivo del Tour, señala que han buscado un equilibrio estético y deportivo: “Tendremos una salida plana a la orilla del mar y luego, varias colinas antes de llegar al exigente circuito de Montjuïc”.    Los ciclistas subirán tres veces la colina de Montjuïc, un escenario icónico que suele acoger el final de la Volta a Catalunya. Esta carrera histórica ha visto brillar a grandes figuras, incluyendo a cinco colombianos: Sergio Higuita (2022), Miguel Angel “Superaman” López (2019), Nairo Quintana (2016), Hernán Buenahora (1998) y Alvaro Mejía (1993).   Este año se impuso el danés Jonas Vingengard. Sin embargo, el francés Dorian Godon del Ineos también se destacó. Es el actual campeón de Francia de ciclismo y conoce muy bien las carreteras catalanas, ya que estudió fisioterapia en Gerona. Volverá aquí en julio para disputar su tercer Tour. Destaca la intensidad única de la Grande Boucle: “El Tour es otro mundo; hay mucha gente, mucha tensión, algo que no se puede describir”.   Un legado que va más allá del deporte Para los ciclistas locales como Marc Soler (UAE Team Emirates), correr en casa es inesperado: “es la primera vez que lo puedo vivir en directo. Seguro que se disfrutará mucho, aparte de sufrirlo, porque se va muy rápido”. Incluso leyendas como Miguel Induráin, pentacampeón del Tour, celebran que la carrera regrese a carreteras españolas: “Yo tuve la suerte de salir del Tour de Francia en San Sebastian cuando corría en 1992”. Después, el Tour salió de Bilbao en 2023 y ahora, de Barcelona, lo que “es muy bonito para la afición”, dice Induraín. Barcelona es una ciudad que recibe, por lo menos, a 15 millones de turistas anuales. En 2025, fue la séptima ciudad europea más visitada. La salida del Tour de Francia la pone de nuevo en el centro de la atención mundial. Pero el Tour de 2026 no solo dejará imágenes espectaculares. Según David Escudé, concejal de Deportes de Barcelona, el legado será también material y social: “Es una oportunidad para que la bici no sea solo deporte, sino una herramienta de transporte. Hay una planificación de carriles bici para mejorar los que ya tenemos”. Today's guest needs no introduction in the world of Turkey hunting and call making. Here from my home state is Mark Prudhomme. Mark has been hunting all of his life, has a professional wildlife and land manager for more than 45 years. He says he has hunted turkeys for 40 years and counting. He has won 17 Grand National Championships including, turkey calling, Owl hooting and Gobbling. 5 Grand National Campion of Champions, 8 World championships including 2 world gobbling championships, 4 world owl hooting and 2 NRA game calling which includes 7 different species. 2 US open owl hooting championships, 2 Grand American Turkey Calling Championships, many state championships in SC and NC. Including the only person to win the state in every game call category. Duck, 2 man Duck, goose, Turkey, and Owl. Mark also qualified for and competed in the World Championship of Duck calling and has won the Rocky Mtn. Elk Foundation elk calling contests. Mark Prudhomme was inducted into the NWTF Hall of fame. He loves hunting and shooting with side by side shotguns and also enjoys traditional bow hunting. Mark also has a reputation for making trumpet calls and tube calls for turkeys. Mark says he was saved at an early age and was raised in church and is a member of First Baptist Church in Georgetown, SC where he served as a Deacon. Dans « Coyote », Prix Nicolas Bouvier au dernier Festival Étonnants Voyageurs, l'écrivain français nous embarque en road trip le long de la frontière entre le Mexique et les États-Unis, le pouce levé mais surtout à l'écoute des autres.  Longtemps après son retour, Sylvain Prudhomme a continué d'être hanté par le voyage en autostop sur près de 2 500 km, qu'il avait réalisé le long de la frontière américano-mexicaine, en 2018 pour la revue française « America ». Quelques années plus tard, il a alors décidé de rouvrir ses carnets et de nous livrer un récit de non-fiction hybride, mêlant notes personnelles, polaroïds et paroles recueillies sur la route auprès d'automobilistes, mexicains surtout, qui ont bien voulu le prendre en stop. En route, chacun.e se livre à sa guise, dans d'épatants monologues reconstitués par l'auteur, où l'on devine en creux la présence et l'écoute pudique de l'écrivain qui sait s'effacer devant son sujet : la frontière et ceux qui la vivent, la côtoient, l'éprouvent. Même si, de Tijuana côté Pacifique jusqu'au poste-frontière de Matamoros, non loin du Golfe du Mexique, le mouvement et la route sont partout présents, « Coyote » se tient loin du récit de voyage, du genre autocentré. Il se lit, s'écoute comme un collage, choral et sensible, au sujet d'un territoire désertique hanté par le mur de Trump, son absurdité et sa violence ; hanté aussi par les représentations héritées du cinéma, américain notamment. À ces représentations, l'écrivain oppose la force du témoignage, la complexité du réel, où la frontière se révèle un monde en soi, un entre-deux qui sépare autant qu'il relie. Alors, dans l'habitacle des voitures et des intimités qui s'y racontent, le lecteur devient passager et l'écrivain passeur. In 1979, he apprenticed at Commander's Palace Restaurant under the guidance of Chef Paul Prudhomme and became the first Night Chef at K-Paul's Louisiana Kitchen in 1980. During his seven-year tenure with Chef Prudhomme at K-Paul's, Frank attained the position of Executive Chef. Paul and K Prudhomme were instrumental in helping Frank and Marna open Brigtsen's in 1986. Chef Frank has been named one of the Top Ten New Chefs in America by FOOD&WINE magazine (1988) and America's Best Chef: Southeast by the James Beard Foundation Awards (1998). He has also been named Chef of the Year by New Orleans magazine and Restaurateur of the Year by the Louisiana Restaurant Association – N.O. Chapter. In 2022, Chef Frank received the Ella Brennan Lifetime Achievement Award in Hospitality, presented by the New Orleans Food & Wine Experience. Chef Frank's passion is teaching and sharing through food. For 15 years, he taught Contemporary Creole/Acadian cuisine as Adjunct Professor at the John Folse Culinary Institute at Nicholls State University and serves as Chef-in-Residence for the Culinary Arts program at the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts (NOCCA).

On Sunday, the Tour de France will return to Le Puy de Dôme for the first time in 35 years. The volcano in the Massif Central was first visited by the race in 1952. Fausto Coppi, who had won the Tour's first-ever summit finish at Alpe d'Huez a couple of weeks earlier, took the stage. In 1964, it was the scene of a famous duel between Jacques Anquetil and Raymond Poulidor as the two brushed shoulders in their battle for the yellow jersey. Eleven years later, in 1975, a spectator punched Eddy Merckx which effectively ended the Belgian's long reign as the undisputed best rider in the world. The final visit, in 1988, saw a win by Denmark's Johnny Weltz but after the stage there was chaos with tens of thousands of fans trying to get off the mountain. A funicular railway was installed, narrowing the road and the climb was closed even to amateur cyclists making it very difficult for the Tour to return. But race director, Christian Prudhomme has long harboured a dream to take the Tour back. Even though the climb will be closed to spectators, it promises to be a special day. In this episode we hear from Prudhomme, local rider Remi Cavagna of Soudal-Quick Step, climber Dan Martin and the last man to win on the volcano, Johnny Weltz.
