Extreme Championship Wrestling was the revolutionary, industry-redefining wrestling federation of the '90s, and founder and owner Tod Gordon is telling his story for the first time. Gordon went from a local Philadelphia businessman to the third most influential man in wrestling as ECW became the fiery challenger to WWE and WCW. ECW's young roster featured inventive risk-taking talent that both major federations sought to emulate but could never duplicate. “E-C-W!” chants rang out in wrestling arenas across all federations for decades. In our final draft analysis for the 2022 NBA Draft, we go over defensive specialists Jeremy Sochan and MarJon Beauchamp and passing wizard Jalen Williams. All these players can fill a need for the Kings in the upcoming season and beyond and the Kings if they were to trade down like many reports have implied, these 3 players should warrant a consideration from the King's front office. The Warriors have done it, after missing the playoffs for 2 straight seasons (The Play-In does not count) due in large part to injury, the Warriors reached the top of the NBA mountain once again to become the 2022 NBA champions. While the Warriors got big contributions from many of their role players like Andrew Wiggins, Kevon Looney, GP II and etc. none of this is possible if it wasn't for Wardell Stephen Curry, who won his first longtime coming, Finals MVP. The Warriors Dynasty has just printed another chapter and are likely going to be even better next year as their trove of young players start to come into their own with a long playoff run under their belt. It really isn't fair. We end by briefly discussing the Vince Mcmahon scandal that has taken the Wrestling Industry by storm, and whether or not it could actually take down Vince Mcmahon. You've asked for it and now you have it, The Reaction to the "This Is Chasyn Rance" 3 part Docu-Series. In this episode you'll hear perspective from 3 individuals who are members of the Florida Independent Wrestling community and who have been directly impacted by Chasyn Rance.First Up We have Ashley Gonzalez, an Independent Wrestler that spent 3 years training at Chasyn's Wrestling School. Ashley opens up about what it was like being trained by someone so Polarizing, being told not to ever say she was trained by Chasyn, her thoughts on things she believes Chasyn did not tell the truth about during "This is Chasyn Rance" and even why she believes it's an open secret Chasyn and Teddy Hart know what happened to missing person Samantha Fiddler. We then hear from Ken "Stix" Ray, an Independent Wrestling Commentator and Manager who has literally lost money for refusing to work cards that Chasyn Rance and his affiliates are part of. Listen as Stix shares why he appreciates "This Is Chasyn Rance" being aired, what people should listen for, his thoughts on Mental Health challenges possibly playing a factor into why Chasyn is the way he is and why he believes Chasyn Rance should be out of the Wrestling Industry. We conclude with Independent Wrestling Promoter Jeremy Gomez who details how he and other promoters are negatively impacted by Chasyn Rance continuing to be in business. Jeremy sheds some light on why Chasyn continues to get ring rental business, his frustration over the negative lens Florida Independent Wrestling is viewed through by the rest of the Wrestling world because of Chasyn Rance and overall why he believes Chasyn should no longer be in the Wrestling Industry. There is also detailed commentary from The Duke regarding the overwhelming reaction to "This Is Chasyn Rance" and why he believes most of the so called "Wrestling Media" that commented without listening are ultimately hypocrites. Uhh Ohh.. Please note this in no way is an endorsement of anyone nor is it any sort of negative takedown of anyone. This is an opportunity to hear reaction to what Chasyn Rance had to say about during the "This Is Chasyn Rance" Docu-Series. *Check out this episode and more by visiting the Duke Loves Rasslin podcast page on iTunes, Spotify, iHeart Radio App, Youtube and other leading podcast appsSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/dukelovesrasslin. The fellas discuss the speaking out movement as female wrestlers have revealed the gross sexual abuse and misconduct that they experienced within the wrestling industry. Then they shift the conversation to Father's Day (20:47), chocolate milk, more pokemon, and end up battling a monsoon before it wipes away the Lay the PodDown studio. WWE, AEW, IMPACT, NWA and more have commented further regarding abuse allegations following the #SpeakingOut movement across wrestling. WWE affiliate brand PROGRESS Wrestling has announced major management changes. WWE Legend The Undertaker seems to have officially announced his retirement from in-ring competition. We have an update on conditions backstage at WWE TV Tapings for WWE Raw, WWE NXT and WWE Smackdown. Also an AEW Star has come out with a shocking statistic whilst comparing their TV time on AEW Dynamite to their TV time in WWE. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
The latest edition of The SmackDown WineDown is now live for your listening pleasure. Your host and humble guide Keila Cash recaps the highs and lows from last night's show, but this episode will largely focus on the #SpeakingOut movement exposing the sexual harassment and abuse that has been prevalent in the professional wrestling industry for decades. Brave women and men are speaking out about their experiences and ending the cycle of victimization once and for all. The names being listed has rocked the business to its core with more bombshells to drop in the days and weeks ahead. It's important to continue the conversation and not let this moment slip through our fingers. For the accused, they will have a chance to defend themselves in a court of law. For the survivors, their silence is no longer a burden. It's a sense of freedom that has been denied far too long. Hopefully, this podcast will shine a spotlight on what we can do to make the industry that we love better and safer for all. Press play and subscribe today! We present to you the holy grail of wresting literature: Matthew Randazzo's Ring of Hell. More than just the story of Chris Benoit, it's the story of modern pro wrestling: WCW, WWE, ECW, New Japan, Stampede, Bret and Owen Hart, Kevin Nash, Vince McMahon, Eddie Guerrero. All of these promotions and people shaped Benoit in some capacity, as concussions destroyed his brain and steroids kept him functional enough to destroy the rest of his body and soul. Randazzo somehow captures all of this and more in 330 pages; join us as we discuss how he accomplished this herculean task.
