As we enter the new year, Sara shares how important Forgiveness is, not only in our personal lives, but in our professional and business lives as well. We all communicate and better and feel better when we leave grudges behind. None of us can be perfect all of the time, so let's remember to be forgiving of others. Sara talks about her 3 reasons Forgiveness is so important in life and work: 1.It promotes better conflict resolution. It promotes teamwork and collaboration. 2.It is important in relationships. Your most important relationship is with yourself. Forgive yourself first. This can lead to being happier with yourself and better relationships with others. 3.It promotes growth. If in business we are forgiving of others, then people won't be afraid to suggest and/or try new things. They can get creative without fear of negative reactions. Sara also tells the story of a trip with Joe and her son to visit colleges. It highlights how important it is to make things happen. Take the chance, make the effort. It's the only way you may get great results. And someone has to do it, it may as well be YOU!! So, here's to a great 2025, making things happen, and not holding grudges. And most importantly working together for the OPTIMUM results in all areas of our lives! Also, check out Sara's book about Forgiveness, Walk Through This. In today's episode, Cindy Esliger examines our careers and career satisfaction. Are we simply adhering to the conventional benchmarks that society labels as success? Or are we pursuing personal fulfillment and doing what genuinely motivates us? To reevaluate how we define success, Cindy dives into our inspirations, where we find courage, and how to assess our emotions. We might be ready for a shift that takes us away from the corporate ladder but closer to our personal satisfaction.Cindy asks if our careers should focus on crafting an impressive resume, following a linear and logical career path, or if we should examine what truly energizes us when decision-making. It is possible to hold a senior position or be at a high level in a career yet feel stagnated. So how do we define career success? Is it time to reevaluate those metrics with Cindy's help? Conforming to a traditional career path for the sake of external rewards can be exhausting if our emotional well-being isn't satisfied by our work. We need to move away from the approval of others and nurture a sense of personal fulfillment. Cindy pulls on her own experience with a major career shift to illustrate how sometimes the dictated path isn't the one that breeds satisfaction. She offers insight on how to reflect on our journey, how to make decisions that steer in the right direction, and why aligning work with inner self is such an important thing to do.Resources discussed in this episode:Guide to Assessing Your Next MoveAstronomic AudioConfidence Collective—Contact Cindy Esliger Career Confidence Coaching: website | instagram | facebook | linkedin | email

Intro – Final Episode: You have to know when to abdicate the focus of leadership and only be a shepherd. – Don't fully know how to explain this, so may leave people confused, but I'll do my best. Examples – My family is more in need of my shepherding than my leadership. – My friends do not value my leadership ability, they value me personally. To choose to lead in that environment is to damage the friendship. – In crisis, the organization needs to see I'm more concerned about if we're good than if we're great. – Not “appear” to care, actually care. Point – Organizations need leaders who care about the organization and the individual. Prioritize Both. – Personal Lives need people who care most. – When you only know how to lead your personal life will fall apart.

What You'll Learn: In this episode, hosts Patrick Adams and Andy Olrich discuss coaching and personal growth, highlighting the importance of iterations and experimentation in learning, emphasizing the need to focus on others rather than oneself in coaching practices.  Everyone, regardless of position or expertise, shares common struggles and the importance of normalizing vulnerability and seeking support within professional communities is essential to success. About the Guest:   Sam Morgan is a self-proclaimed “confident learner.” After spending the past five years of work in the continuous improvement space he landed at KataCon, a conference for continuous improvement professionals who practice the Toyota Kata. There he had a powerful moment realizing where his true passion lies: transforming people through coaching. Ever since then he has been on a mission to help folks illuminate who they really are, what they were created to do, and give them the confidence to live it out through the powerful practice of daily coaching. Sam helps change the lives of people through the process of uncovering their PURPOSE, helping them understand the PATTERN of the Improvement Kata, tied together through the PRACTICE of daily coaching cycles. Sam takes joy in seeing his clients move from fearful to fearless; from insecure to confident. He resonates deeply with the quote from Henry David Thoreau, “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams.” Links: Click Here For Andy Olrich's LinkedIn Click Here For Patrick Adam's LinkedIn Click Here for Sam Morgan's LinkedIn Click Here for Sam Morgan's Website --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/leansolutions/support

They engage in a powerful discussion on women in leadership; the shift in workplace dynamics is highlighted as Renee Bradley observes the growing acceptance of career-focused women as opposed to the judgment they faced in the past. Moreover, the panel discusses the balancing act of personal and professional responsibilities that women often navigate, especially in relation to motherhood. Addressing the bias and obstacles women leaders face, such as being deemed emotional or sensitive, the conversation turns to building self-confidence and recognizing women's empathetic and natural leadership abilities. They discuss the trend where women often feel pressured to meet 100% of job qualifications before applying, in contrast to their male counterparts who apply with significantly less. The conversation reveals the underlying issues of perfectionism and the false belief that one must know everything beforehand. The guests share personal anecdotes and the collective struggle they face in professional settings, such as the negative biases towards successful women and challenges with confidence and self-worth.  The episode further delves into gender roles and stereotypes, where Anita Harris and Renee Bradley reflect on the changing perceptions of assertive women in the workplace, while Samantha Blum urges women to exist loudly and take charge in leadership roles, thereby challenging traditional gender roles. The importance of mentorship is underscored by all, with discussions on its value in both personal and professional growth. The idea for a women in leadership group at Broad River to promote mentorship and support is also zealously floated, with an emphasis on identifying male allies. Anita Harris wraps up by sharing how age and mentorship have played a significant role in her development as a confident leader. Your Bio and Social Media links: Website: https://clarityfirstprogram.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/davinastanley/?originalSubdomain=au Book: http://www.elevatetoengage.com Davina Stanley is a business communication expert. For 25+ years, Davina has advised thousands of executives from some of the world's largest companies, including Meta, KPMG, and Mercer. She has helped clients from nearly all industries in Australia, Asia-Pacific, the US, and the UK communicate complex ideas extremely clearly and quickly, ideally within 30 seconds. She founded the Clarity First Program, which helps C-suite executives and teams better engage senior leaders and boards in complex ideas. Davina began her career at McKinsey & Company, working in the Hong Kong and Melbourne offices and Firm Learning, where she helped executives use the Minto Pyramid Principle(R) to communicate better. She was ranked as one of the top performers of her era. Barbara Minto approved her to teach the Pyramid Principle in 2009, and she is also the author of The So What Strategy and about to release two new books: Elevate and Engage. Elevate will be released during September and helps leaders lift the quality of thinking in team's board papers without needing to rewrite them. Engage will be released soon after that and helps executives write papers that leaders don't need to rework. The books are two sides of the same coin…imagine the leader reading Elevate and then asking team to get hold of Engage or one of Davina's online programs to fix the board paper problem together. Davina also offers self-paced and cohort-based learning programs. She will hold her next Board Paper Bootcamp in October.           Summary Podcasting and Leadership Discussion   Effective Communication and Seattle Transition Davina Stanley shared her experiences helping executives communicate effectively with senior leaders and boards, drawing on her diverse background. She also discussed her recent move from Australia to Seattle, highlighting the challenges and opportunities of such a transition. Davina praised the welcoming and inclusive nature of the people in Seattle, contrasting the "Seattle Freeze" rumors. She also mentioned the success of transitioning her business online in 2017, which allowed her to maintain consistency with clients and deliver bite-size live learning. Michael D. Levitt agreed with Davina's observations, describing Seattle as a great place for business and acknowledging its reputation for friendliness and welcoming nature. Elevate and Engage: Improving Team Quality Michael and Davina discussed Davina's upcoming book, "Elevate," which focuses on helping leaders improve the quality of their team's writing and presentations through structured thinking techniques. Davina also mentioned a companion book, "Engage," aimed at individual contributors seeking to improve roles within collaborative processes. The conversation emphasized the importance of early and structured thinking to avoid last-minute rush and enhance the quality of deliverables. Presentation Preparation Challenges Discussed Michael D. Levitt and Davina Stanley discussed the challenges and inefficiencies of traditional presentation preparation. Michael highlighted the issue of individuals being overworked and burning out due to the last-minute preparation of presentations, often during personal time. He emphasized the importance of having clear ingredients for a project and the need to avoid "PowerPoint karaoke". Davina added that presenters often fail to address the right problem, which can result in the rejection of proposals. She stressed the importance of understanding the audience's question and providing the appropriate answer. Planning and Communication in Project Execution Davina Stanley and Michael D. Levitt discussed the importance of thorough planning and communication in project execution. Davina emphasized the value of investing time in understanding the project's outcome and stakeholders before moving on to the presentation stage. Michael agreed, noting that this approach allows for more thoughtful and effective presentations and reduces the likelihood of needing to revise materials. They also touched on the personal impact of this approach, such as reducing workload and improving work-life balance. Work, Book, Networks, Personal Lives, Sharing Resources Michael and Davina discussed Davina's work, found on clarityfirstprogram.com. Davina also mentioned her upcoming book, "Elevate and Engage," which she plans to publish by the end of the week. Michael offered to share these resources across his networks. They also touched on their personal lives, with Michael sharing his split time between San Diego and Toronto and Davina revealing her family in Seattle. The conversation ended with Michael showing interest in Davina's work and promising to share information about his show when it goes live.

Prioritizing Employee Culture in Business Prioritizing employee culture is crucial for businesses to succeed. Leaders who actively show their employees they matter create an environment that fosters engagement, trust, and loyalty. Simply paying employees or giving them bonuses is not enough; they need to feel valued and appreciated beyond their work performance. Imagine a company where employees are excited to come to work and feel a sense of purpose in what they do. This is the kind of culture that sets businesses apart and leads to success. Investing in employee culture is investing in the future of the business. On this episode, I am joined by Joey Coleman, a bestselling author, and speaker who has worked with leading organizations worldwide, including Volkswagen, Zappos, and Whirlpool. This week, Jason is joined by Blake Horstmann and Giannina Gibelli as they return for part 2! Many may know Blake from his time on The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise and Giannina from her time on season one of Netflix's Love is Blind. After each of them failed to find love, they gave it one more shot on Paramount+'s All Star Shore where they inevitably found each other and have shown that love is worth the wait.  Giannina and Blake give insight to how Blake has continued to make more every year as a DJ, how they balance their professional and personal lives with the industries they work in, how communication and trust are critical to the relationship, how they handle their relationship in the public eye and with public perception, and the ways they support each other's careers. Plus, Jason talks money with Blake and Giannina with a series of 10 questions. Does Blake or Giannina know more about their partners' money habits?  What is Blake's goal amount for a DJ set? Do they have a joint bank account?  Blake and Giannina reveal all that and so much more in another episode you can't afford to miss!  Host: Jason Tartick Co-Host: David Arduin Audio: Declan O'Connell Guests: Blake Horstmann & Giannina Gibelli  Stay connected with the Trading Secrets Podcast!  Instagram: @tradingsecretspodcast  Youtube: Trading Secrets Facebook: Join the Group All Access: Free 30-Day Trial  Trading Secrets Steals and Deal Better Help: Start today and get 10% off your first month https://betterhelp.com/tradingsecrets Athletic Greens: Get a FREE 1-year supply of Vitamin D AND 5 Free Athletic Green Travel Packs with your first purchase at drinkAG1.com/TRADINGSECRETS Whoop: To make it easier than ever to start, Trading Secrets has partnered with WHOOP to announced a new 30-day FREE trial.
