In this episode, Elle Russ chats with Philip Blackledge - he was ordained a priest in the Scottish Episcopal church in 1999. He is the leader of the Melrose Vocal Ensemble, and still appears as soloist when the money is right. In this episode, Elle Russ deconstructs cultural jealousy and how you can take lessons from it to enrich your success. In a world that claims to celebrate achievement, why do so many cultures secretly punish those who stand out? This episode pulls back the curtain on Tall Poppy Syndrome - that insidious social reflex that makes people attack anyone who rises too high. We trace this phenomenon from ancient tribal instincts to modern office politics, revealing how the fear of standing out shapes everything from career choices to national economies. We expose the hidden costs of this mentality, from stifled innovation to brain drain, and spotlight the rare communities that have broken free from this self-sabotaging pattern. By the end, you'll never look at success - or your own reactions to others' achievements - the same way again. This is more than a cultural analysis; it's a wake-up call for anyone who's ever dimmed their light to make others comfortable. Elle Russ chats with Sarah Plowman - who after spending her 20s bartending in Philadelphia, got married, had two boys and fully embraced stay at home mom life - sourdough starter and all. Six years later she found herself going through a divorce and back in the restaurant business when COVID shut the world down. Sarah had recently hired a life coach to figure out her post-divorce life, and the impact this had on her was profound. For the first time she felt that her inner confidence matched how she appeared to the world. Although starting a coaching business with no niche, no certification and no experience sounded crazy, Sarah knew she had to get the tools of life coaching in the hands of as many women as possible. So she started talking to people and offering to help them. She started an Instagram account. She brought hand written signs to the playground offering to coach strangers for free while the kids played. People noticed. After nearly a year of general life coaching, other online coaches began asking Sarah for help magnetizing premium clients by creating authentic, organic content on Instagram. In 2024 Sarah founded the Magnetic Membership to bring her movement to a wider audience. Inside she teaches her simple yet effective formula to get rich while doing life-changing, heart-centered work. Her goal is to help women turn their delusions into reality (because how fun is that) - and watch the cash roll in as a strategic byproduct. From divorced, single mom to CEO of a coaching brand set to cross $1m in 2025, Sarah is an example of what's possible. When she's not coaching Sarah is getting sushi with her kids, at ballet class, prepping for her first Latin dance competition, or parading the streets of Philadelphia in a fabulous hat. Hypothyroid patients classically have low ferritin and other low iron levels - just another negative side effect of undiagnosed, untreated, or mistreated hypothyroidism. Iron provides life-affirming oxygen to organ systems through its role in red cell production. Iron is an essential protein component for metabolism (low iron levels often go hand in hand with low B12 results). Without adequate iron, muscles lose their tone and elasticity. Low iron can compromise brain function: oxygen supply in the blood is assisted by iron, and the brain uses approximately 20% of the blood oxygen. Proper flow of blood in the brain stimulates cognitive activity. Visit Elle Russ.com to learn more. SELECTED LINKS: https://www.elleruss.com/
