Hi. Hey and hello. This is series eleven, episode nine of the Lifestyle First podcast and today is all about emotions and I come to you with mixed emotions, a touch of sadness mixed with the taste of excitement. So let me explain. Come back with me to December 2019. The air is crisp, the sky is blue. There's frost on the windows and as I look out over the fields at the back of the house, I hear myself say out loud, I'm launching a podcast. I'm not sure who I'm saying that to. There is no one else in the room with me. No one's listening but now I've said it out loud, it feels like a declaration, a slightly crazy one, because the voice of doubt quickly creeps in. What do you know about podcasting? You don't know anything about mics or lighting or editing. There is no way you're going to get to grips with the tech and who's going to listen anyway? Now, maybe I don't know any of this, but what I do know is that there are messages of health that feel so important to share that I can't keep them to myself. Rock on three weeks later. It's the first Sunday in January. I master the tech, and the Lifestyle First Podcast hits the airways. Podcasting and YouTubing is hard work and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Yes, it's fun and it's interesting, but there is more to it than meets the eye. I call it a labor of love, and because I love it, I keep doing it and now rock on exactly two years after I made the declaration, 'I'm launching a podcast' and the podcast has now traveled around the world. There are thousands of you listening from everywhere. The UK. The US. Slovenia, India, the Philippines, Vietnam, Poland, Spain, Greece, Portugal, China, South Africa, even New Zealand. Dr. Patel is all about catchy acronyms, and one of my favorites is her acronym for DNA. DNA can feel like an abstract concept, but she has a very practical way of approaching it. She thinks of DNA as Discovering, Noticing, and Activating. She stresses the importance of discovering and noticing who you are and what you want in order to activate where you're going so you can outsmart stress and outlive life. She also breaks down her DREAMS to Success formula, which stands for Difference, Ready, Energy, Affirmation, Motivation, and Self Care. When she wakes up in the morning, she asks herself a series of questions to jumpstart her day. What difference do I want to make in the world today? How ready am I for today? What energy do I want to radiate out today? What affirmation am I making for myself today? How motivated do I feel about today? And what part of my self care am I going to focus on today? I know I'm definitely going to start implementing that practice into my morning routine. In September, Alka Patel was named Vice President of Government and External Affairs for Comcast's Keystone Region, which comprises western, central and northeastern Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, northern West Virginia and the Maryland panhandle. In Patel's role, she leads a team responsible for engaging with the region's local, state and federal government officials as well as other key stakeholders, including non-profit partners with a focus on community investment. She brings more than 20 years of experience working at the intersection of technology, business and law. She most recently served as the first Chief of Responsible AI for the U.S. Department of Defense's Joint Artificial Intelligence Center. Independent Audit of AI Systems (IAAIS) seeks to create an infrastructure of trust for all autonomous systems which directly impact humans. We focus on Ethics, Bias, Privacy, Trust, and Cybersecurity as our lens and filter. Our contributors join with deep knowledge and are experts in some or all of those areas, both theoretically and practically. We are drafting audit rules and standards for autonomous systems in every corner of the economy and forming cohorts that bring our experts together with industry practitioners to ensure that the audits achieve their mission of mitigating risks to humans while being comprehensive, pragmatic, and implementable. We have crafted 3000+ audit rules already and are working closely with the ICO in the UK to meet their request for a GDPR certification scheme. We have recently been confirmed as a Trusted Ecosystem Partner by the JAIC and we look forward to drafting audit rules for the JAIC's TradeWind platform and implementing the DoD's AI Ethics Principles. During this webinar, we expect to introduce the IAAIS to the participants.
