Born in 1952, in Virginia, Stewart Copeland - the son of a CIA agent - spent his formative years in the Middle East but attended college in California before settling in England in 1975. He joined the progressive rock outfit Curved Air, working first as their road manager then as their drummer. In early 77, he founded the Police with singer/bassist Sting and guitarist Henri Padovani (soon replaced by Andy Summers). Their first hit, 79's "Roxanne," set the course for huge success to follow. The trio emerged as one of the most popular and innovative bands of the post-punk era, drawing upon reggae, funk, and world music to create a uniquely infectious yet cerebral brand of pop which generated a series of smash singles including "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic," "Every Breath You Take," and "King of Pain." While with the Police, Steward also issued a solo record under the alias Klark Kent. This not only earned him wide critical acclaim for his intricate, textured drum work, but also for his songwriting as he contributed many of the group's songs. When the Police officially disbanded in 1986, the band was still at their commercial peak. Disagreements betwenn members had caused the trio's collapse and Stewart took to composing film scores, earning himself a Golden Globe nomination. He increasingly spent more time on film scores. In 2002, Stewart formed a new rock-oriented project, Oysterhead - a power trio supergroup. A year later he produced and directed Everyone Stares, a documentary film about his time in the Police. In 2007, Stewart reunited with his former bandmates to celebrate their 30th anniversary. Stewart also wrote his memoir, Strange Things Happen: A Life with The Police, Polo, and Pygmies at this time. In 2021, Stewart collaborated on the instrumental 'Divine Tides'. The album won the 2022 Grammy Award for Best New Age Album, giving Copeland his first Grammy win outside of the five he earned as a member of the Police. He also released 'Police Deranged for Orchestra' where he reworked Police hits for an orchestra. In 2023, he published Stewart Copeland's Police Diaries, a book based on his original diary entries from 1976-1979. This week Stewart Copeland joins us to regale us with his many stories. Omar, an innovative Afghan-American Grammy laureate and the inaugural and sole recipient of the esteemed Best New Age Album award, has made a lasting impact on the music industry. His second Grammy nomination, which he received for his revolutionary album "MOMENTS OF BEAUTY," not only cemented his position in music history but also solidified his status as an industry titan. His background is as intriguing as his music: Omar, who was raised in various countries while being raised in New York City by a United Nations diplomat, was exposed to four languages fluently: English, Farsi, Spanish, and French. His upbringing spanned the globe. His interdisciplinary musical journey commenced with piano instruction from a member of the Prague Symphony Orchestra, which ignited an indomitable ardour. His 14-year-old sojourn in Cuba introduced him to the dynamic rhythms of Cuban culture, which ignited within him an enduring passion for the multifarious fabric of music. Omar adeptly adapted elements from jazz melodies and electronic rhythms to seamlessly transition from his position as a classical pianist to that of an instrumental pop maestri. His Grammy-nominated opus embodies Omar's conviction that capturing the majesty of the present moment is fundamental to his creative ethos. "MOMENTS OF BEAUTY" serves as a contemplation of appreciation, commemorating the ups and downs of existence through each sincere composition. His musical compositions strike a chord with listeners across the globe, resulting in an ardent fan base and a succession of Billboard chart-topping albums. With sold-out performances in China, England, France, and the United States, Omar's compositions have enriched the lives of all who have had the privilege of witnessing his transcendent artistry and become ingrained in indelibly remembered.

Joel is a grammy-nominated songwriter, certified meditation teacher, life coach, and creator of the R.I.S.E. Journal. R.I.S.E. stands for Release, Inquire, Self-Awareness, Empower. This practice reconnects practitioners to their truth by infusing meditation, asking “heart questions,” and deep listening into a modality that Joel calls meditative journaling.Joel has committed his life to be a conduit for grounding, healing, and transformation. He uses music, poetry, and meditation, to create a safe space to feel, heal, and grow in self-awareness. Joel Cross grew up in Cleburne, Texas singing gospel songs with his seven siblings. At the age of twelve, he fell in love with the guitar. He was self-taught, finding inspiration in gospel, soul, classical, and r&b. In 2003, he began to study jazz at the University of Houston. There, he learned the traditions of improvisation and bebop. His influences were Grant Green, George Benson, Wes Montgomery, and Joe Pass. In 2006, he transferred to the University of North Texas in Denton where he finished his performance degree in Jazz Studies. Though his formal education was focused on guitar, Joel was always inspired by creating new music and telling stories that brought the listener in. His heartfelt approach showcased his ability to make each piece his own. One afternoon, while playing a show in Dallas, Joel decided to appease the crowd's unconventional request for a song by Taylor Swift. A fan happened to catch his very soulful rendition of “Shake it Off” on video and uploaded it to YouTube. By the next morning, it had over half a million views and Joel's face was on every major news source in Dallas. The viral video quickly catapulted his career as he captured the attention of fans across the globe, including Ellen DeGeneres, America's Got Talent, Capitol Records, Time, and MTV. Four-time Grammy award-winning artist, India Arie, was also intrigued by Joel when she heard one of his original songs, “Candlelight,” and invited him to collaborate with her. In 2017 that album, Songversation: Medicine was nominated for a Grammy, Best New Age Album. Joel collaborated with India in 2019 for her album Worthy, co-writing and playing guitar on several songs. Stewart Copeland is a talk show/podcast host's dream. Especially when that host is newly recovering from Omicron. A natural story teller with a boundless engaging and joyful energy left me only wanting more time to talk to the legendary drummer and now 5 time Grammy winner after taking home Best New Age Album for Divine Tides, his collaborative effort with Indian composer Ricky Kej at the 64th annual Grammy Awards! We talk about his humble beginnings starting out idolizing his brother which lead him to play in his first band, traveling the world, his secret desire to be a guitarist, his knowledge of touring and running a band which helped him when he was in The Police, building a community and space for his buddies to jam in, being the “Hendrix” for up and comers, his idols growing up, navigating social media, giving advice to his kids, composing music for Spyro The Dragon, his relationship with Sting, the passing of Taylor Hawkins and what he describes as being “Open Season” on drummers and so much more. It was a true honor getting to speak with him. Enjoy!

Jeff Heggie Daily Success Strategies 320: Use High Pressure to Create Success https://jeffheggie.com/ https://jeffheggie.com/ConfidentAthlete https://mindset.jeffheggie.com/ https://jeffheggie.com/2021/07/01/use-high-pressure-to-create-success/ “Unsuccessful people make decisions based on current circumstances while successful people make decisions based on where they desire to be.” – Benjamin Hardy Have you ever been amazed what can be accomplished in a short amount of time when you have a deadline approaching? If you're serious about achieving your goals, you have the ability to create the environment that will force you to produce results. I recently read a story about John Burke. In 2017 he was nominated for a Grammy for Best New Age Album. The intriguing part of his story is around a particular song on his album called “Earth Breaker.” When John composed the music for “Earth Breaker,” he couldn't actually play it. The song was too difficult for him. But that is exactly what he had planned for. He composed a song that was beyond his skill level and then played it over and over again until he could do it. John is best under pressure. He purposefully creates environments that force him to be at his best and most productive day after day. When he decides he's going to create a new album, he immediately decides when it will be completed and released. As I teach with setting goals, once you have your goals set, you need to work backwards to create your plans and timelines. Once John decides on a release date, he works backwards to map out the key dates and milestones. He books the studio for the day he will record the album, and then he organizes his personal schedule to ensure he's booked in his “creation time” over the next several months. Next, he commits to his goals publicly. He goes to social media and shares with his fan's information about his upcoming album. He tells his close family and friends about his goals. He creates the conditions and environment that will force him to succeed. His goals and success are predictable, because he's designed the plan and the environment that will make it happen. I have previously talked about being 100% committed to your goals. Are you committed at the same level as John Burke? Will you create the environment that will force you to succeed? How can you create the environment that will increase the pressure in your life?

His debut album, Spirit (Silver Wave, 1983), and those that followed reached the Top 20 New Age Music chart at Billboard magazine. His first Grammy Award nomination was for the album Red Moon (Silver Wave, 2003) for Best New Age Album. 13 more nominations followed with his first win coming in 2018 for the album Dancing on Water (Point of Light, 2017). Kater has sold millions of records, scored the music of over 100 television and film productions including 11 On & Off-Broadway dramatic plays and is a proud recipient of the Environment Leadership Award from the United Nations. He joins John & Heyang to discuss his musical journey and the responsibility that comes with being a "conduit" for music that uplifts and inspires the world.
The pulse of life in all its beauty has a cadence, a beat, a rhythm. Grammy nominated composer and musician Steve Roach sensed this music of life and channelled it into his own genre of inspirational musical soundscapes. Growing up in southern California, his “Ambient” or “New Age” music is deeply rooted in a connection to the starkly beautiful landscapes and open spaces of the southwestern desert. The sounds and rhythms he creates come from his visceral response to nature. Roach drew inspiration from the expansive atmosphere of his surroundings to uncover and discover a palpable soundcurrent. He essentially uses his senses as a tuning instrument to mix a palate of electronic and organic sounds to compose music that takes you on a journey towards deeper self awareness and higher perception. Since releasing his first album in 1982, Roach now stands among the giants of modern ambient music and is one of the most respected electronic musicians in the world. His discography is enormous with well over 100 releases. The sounds and rhythms he creates come from his visceral response to nature. Special Guest: Celebrated Harpist Peter Sterling’s life is a reminder to all who offer themselves as an open vessel for the Divine, that there’s no stop button once Spirit unleashes its creativity. Peter’s response to his heavenly calling 25 years ago, blossomed into an endlessly-creative multi-media career, spanning 16 studio albums, numerous Music Awards, a book called Hearing the Angels Sing, and an impressive series of crystal- frosted Mandala art prints enough to fill a gallery. Peter also creates sacred geometry Stained Glass art, and presents dynamic workshops on the science of sound healing & sacred geometry.Success came quickly for Peter, when the music label “World Disc” released his first album Harp Magic which was nominated in 1994 for NAIRD’s (now A2IM) Best String Album Award. In 2004 Sterling’s album Hap Dreams sat at the top of New Age Radio’s Top 100 for 8 weeks and garnered a Album of the Year nomination. In 2005 peter signed on with renowned new age music label Real Music to release his Shadow,Mist and Light cd. Peter’s self released 2008 effort The Sands of Time earned a nomination for a Hollywood Music Award for Best New Age Album. His 2012 release Patterns of Reflection soared to #1 on the ZMR 100 International Radio chart, also grabbing a nomination for Album of the Year. The very next year his album Twilight Serenade ascended to the #1 position on the ZMR Chart, while the track entitled “Isle of Light” recently earned a Bronze medal in the Global Music Awards for 2016.With thousands of worldwide fans, Internet-radio airplay streaming constantly around the globe, and a Vibrational Healing series of albums, Peter says his 16th studio album Sacred Visions is a different kind of benchmark: it encapsulates his life experience in the legendary red rock paradise of Sedona,Az. The album also celebrates the coming together of familiar talents on this rhythmic contemporary gem, bursting with danceable world beats and infectious multi-cultural grooves. Blending the accompaniment of studio whizzes Bruce Becvar, Robin Miller, and Fitzhugh Jenkins, along with popular New Age / Smooth Jazz artists Hans Christian, William Aura, and Third Force, it is every bit healing and reflective (as Peter’s fans have come to expect), as it is pure joy. Sacred Visions will likely make your body irresistibly move and groove! While some musicians are classically trained from childhood, others are guided to their destiny later in life. It took 33 years of living before Peter heard the still small voice while working in the high altitudes of the Rocky Mountains as a ski instructor in Aspen. Soon Peter couldn’t shake the notion that he was meant to devote his life to art and become a creative channel for Divine inspiration. Sedona beckoned, and Peter heeded the call without hesitation.Exploring Sedona’s remote canyons daily, and living out of his trusty van, Peter followed every Divine hunch and inspiration as a free-spirited seeker. The Celtic Harp serendipitously entered his life on a fateful day in Sedona as an answer to a prayer on how best to fulfill his unique life purpose. Now toting his harp with him everywhere he went, Peter surrendered himself completely, allowing Grace to unfold through him amidst Sedona’s epic scenery and energy vortices. Having only a few lessons under his belt from the seller of the Celtic Harp, the Angels took over, guiding Peter’s hands and causing them to move masterfully within a few short months. No one was more surprised than Peter, whose skill-level demonstrated that of a virtuoso rather than a mere beginner.Peter felt inspired to make drastic changes to his diet and lifestyle, switching to vegetarian “living” foods and immersing himself in healing treatments to upgrade his physical and energetic bodies through shamanic, chiropractic, energy healing and herbal treatments. With his newfound inner attunement, the Angels continued to reach Peter’s inner ear with heavenly sound transmissions, a sound which many mystics have called “the Music of the Spheres.”Little did Peter know that one day his angelic music would garner testimonials from around the world for its miraculous healing effects: softening the hearts of the dying at the moment of their transition and used by mothers at the time of birth and to ease their autistic children’s suffering. For many, it has become the quintessential healing soundtrack for meditation and massage. “My mission is to create music that can create an experience of transcendence in the listener; strike a chord on their heartstrings, and remind them of Home – a feeling of Oneness,” Peter commented.A favorite on Internet radio such as Pandora, Sirius, XM Satellite, and Soundscapes Radio as well as United and American airlines, Peter scarcely dreamed that his music would have a massive worldwide audience back when he was recording his first 8 tracks on a cassette tape in Byron Bay, Australia and marketing it on foot around Sedona with its hand-drawn cover art. Now, through Internet Radio, CD, DVD, his website, and countless other forums, Peter’s angelic music will continue to reach the masses, heal lives, balance brains, open hearts, and connect people to their innate spiritual essence.A walk into his beautiful West-Sedona home will find dozens of his canvas and wood-mounted “Portals of Light” Mandala art prints, glossed and shimmering with finely-ground Quartz crystal specks. Peter’s stained glass pieces adorn much of the house as well, which are the inspiration used to create the Mandala design for the “Portals of Light” series. When not in the studio working on his next album, Peter is often found working in his organic vegetable and herb garden, ensuring fresh, high-energy food for his family, which now consists of his partner Crystal, and their 5-year old son Micah. Peter also enjoys guiding out-of-towners on Sacred Land Journeys to Sedona’s spectacular vortex sites that have captured his heart and inspired his art and music.Hosted by: Joel Ayala AyapanaProduced by: Joel Ayala Ayapana Disclaimer by: Tiffany Renee Ayapana Introduction by: Rahman Ali Podcast Radio Network: Real Revolution Radio 2.0Network Link: http://www.realrevolutionradio.comArchives: http://www.realrevolutionradioarchives.comNOTICE: By accessing this Podcast, I acknowledge that the entire contents and design of this Podcast, are the property of Quantum Mindfulness Radio LLC and REAL REVOLUTION RADIO X.0, or used by Quantum Mindfulness Radio LLC (QMR) and REAL REVOLUTION RADIO X.0 (RRRX) with permission, and are protected under U.S. and international copyright and trademark laws.
