My name is Trina Casey, and I work as a Certified CBT and EQ Coach, Family Trauma Professional, Educator, Children's Book Author, and most importantly, the Mom of an AWESOME kid! I am biased on that last one! I started this podcast FIVE seasons ago to help parents learn the five principles of Emotional Intelligence as they were raising their children. I also know the importance of healing the inner child as we confront the generational trauma that seems to plague this world. All my years of research and study brought me to a word I had never heard in school, and I doubt most of you have not, either. HEGEMONY! The word carries a heavy weight to it, and you will know why as you look up the definition. I would define it for you, but its impact on every aspect of our daily life is something I would like you to reflect on your own. This season I will dive deep into how hegemony affects how we parent, educate, and love our children. The macro affects the micro of our lives much more than we can see and sometimes want to. Casey Cook received her masters degree from the University of California Los Angeles. She has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions in Los Angeles, NYC and NC at galleries and museums including Dan Bernier Gallery, Lehmann Maupin, I-20, Branch Gallery, Light Art and Design, LUMP Gallery and The Nasher Museum. Her most recent solo show, Kissing The Scarecrow, was in May of this year at Shrine in NYC. Cook works in a multitude of genres including sculpture, video, film, music and predominately painting. She was a founding members of the art rock band Americans in France and currently fronts Sunny Slopes. She is working on a solo album of her music collaborations to be released in 2023.

Like the playful, participatory work he produces, Jo Fairfax defies categorisation. In fact, he isn’t keen on categorisation at all: ‘’I feel unsettled by the classifications of whatever, whether it is sculpture or architecture or art or design’’ he told Blueprint magazine back in 2011.That said, we hope he doesn’t mind if we say his work encompasses a fascinating mix of public art installations, holograms, sculpture, architectural and sculptural lighting, automata and interactive objects. Fascinated by nature and technology in equal measure, his work gently nudges us to respond, turning us from observers to participants by presenting us with the unexpected.Initially trained in sculpture, Jo has also studied holography at the Royal College of Art, undertaken an international residency at the Holocentre in New York and been awarded a NESTA Dream Time Award to develop his ideas into virtual reality. Committed to collaboration and excited by the potential of working with a range of different experts, he likes to work in ‘flexible clusters’, rolling teams of different skill sets and expertise.We were lucky enough to work with Jo on ‘Intersection’, a location and time-specific light sculpture in Leeds. Shape of Light: 100 Years of Photography and Abstract Art, a new exhibition at Tate Modern, explores the intertwined stories of the two art forms from the early photographic experiments to the digital innovations of the 21st century. The two curators discuss the relationship between artists, including Jackson Pollock, Georges Braque and Bridget Riley, and photographers, including Man Ray and Edward Weston.Stephen Deuchar, chair of the judging panel for the Art Fund Museum of the Year prize, reveals the shortlist for this year's award. The Future of Light Art | Symposium 08.02.2018 – 09.02.2018 Medientheater Light is a messenger from the universe. The arts are the messengers of light. From February 8–9, 2018, a symposium on the future of light art will take place at the ZKM. The symposium can also be followed via livestream! Everything we know, we know from light – that is the claim by astrophysics at least. One thing is clear: From quantum optics (»The Angular Momentum of Light«) to chronobiology, from nano-optics to photonics, a new frontier of scientific research on the nature of light is emerging. These options, which offer us new theories and practices of light, from biophysical chemistry to the lithosphere, also have an impact on artistic possibilities. In October 2014, invited U.S. mayors to collaborate with artists and arts organizations to develop innovative projects that engage residents and attract visitors. In all, 237 cities submitted proposals, with Spartanburg joining three other cities around the country selected to receive up to $1 million for public art installations. Spartanburg's winning bold and innovative idea? , which will bring nine temporary art installations by internationally renowned light and digital media artist to 10 city neighborhoods From October 4 – April 1. The project is a partnership between the City of Spartanburg and ten city neighborhood associations, and is being led by . Seeing Spartanburg in a New Light builds on National Night Out, an annual event that promotes crime prevention efforts, police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. Celebrated Harpist Peter Sterling’s life is a reminder to all who offer themselves as an open vessel for the Divine, that there’s no stop button once Spirit unleashes its creativity.
