Październik i listopad potrafią przynieść na grządki ciszę. Większość warzyw już zebrana, a opustoszałą ziemię przykrywa gruba, ciepła warstwa kompostu lub zielonego nawozu. Ogród powoli układa się do zimowego snu. Tymczasem, nad szarymi grządkami dumnie wznoszą się pióropusze jarmużu i wysokie, obwieszone zielonymi koralikami łodygi brukselki. To dwaj kapuściani arystokraci, którzy swój najlepszy czas mają dopiero przed sobą.
The pioneering artist talks philosophy, Berghain and touring on the eve of her 80th birthday. Suzanne Ciani is a synth music legend. After establishing herself as one of the first virtuosos of Don Buchla's modular system in the 1960s, she went on to earn five Grammy nominations, score a Hollywood film and found her own sound design company—creating iconic commercial soundtracks for Coca-Cola, AT&T and Atari. In this RA Exchange recorded live at IMS Ibiza, Ciani traces her remarkable path to success. She breaks down the working philosophy that got her there: from walking away from opportunities that didn't align with her vision, to carving out her own lane in a male-dominated industry that refused to make room for her. Now, just weeks away from turning 80, she discusses life on the road, collaborating with a new generation of electronic musicians and her first impressions of Berghain. Listen to the episode in full.

In this episode of the Vital Health Podcast, host Duane Schulthess speaks with two experts on evidence standards for early oncology access at ISPOR Europe 2025 in Glasgow, Scotland: Oriana Ciani: Associate Professor of Practice at SDA Bocconi School of Management Denis Lacombe: Director General at EORTC They discuss why accelerated pathways are used in oncology, what becomes feasible and risky when patient populations are small, how surrogate endpoints such as progression-free survival can differ from overall survival and quality of life, and why post-authorization evidence generation and treatment optimization shape whether early access translates into sustained patient benefit. Key Topics: Accelerated Approvals: Unmet need concepts, regulatory pathways, and access pressure in oncology. Rare Trial Design: Small populations, randomization feasibility, comparator constraints. Surrogate Endpoints: Progression-free survival, early-stage endpoints, evidence needed to validate surrogates. HTA Variation: Differing national standards, uncertainty handling, reimbursement timing effects. Treatment Optimization: Post-authorization evidence gaps, dose and duration questions, aligning evidence needs earlier. Opinions expressed are those of the speakers.

Also hört rein und nehmt euch was mit.
If you were watching TV in the 1980s you're probably familiar with the sounds of electronic music pioneer Suzanne Ciani, whose synthesizer compositions became the sonic logos for Coca-Cola, Atari, GE, PBS and dozens of other brands. Ciani has gone on to cultivate new audiences through her quadraphonic concerts that she produces using an updated version of the same synthesizer that she played as a student at UC Berkeley in the late-1960s, the Buchla 200E. We'll talk with Ciani about her career, how California inspires her and hear excerpts from her upcoming concert series that celebrates the 40th anniversary of her breakthrough album “Seven Waves.”
Imagine taking on your first role as a new leader, excited at the opportunity, only to uncover one leadership challenge after another. Not only are you leading your former peers, who are more experienced than you, but two members of your three-person team go out on medical leave and eventually quit. This leaves you with one highly motivated but inexperienced team member to do the work of four people. Oh yeah, and when you ask for support, you're told “You've been through worse”. How well would you do in that first-time leadership role? Podcast guest, Stacy Vega, is here to recount how her first leadership experience made her feel like a complete failure. Stacy Vega is the Director of Strategic Planning and Governance for Government Marketing at Elevance Health, where she leads the practice and forum to orchestrate communications to the Medicare population. Stacy is passionate about bridging brands and audiences through compelling storytelling. Outside work, Stacy is a mother to two sons, Ciani and Chancellor, and a dog mom to Nugget. Suzanne Ciani is a true pioneer. One of the world's first synth heroes. “The diva of the diode.” Ciani began experimenting with electronic music in 1960s California, at a time when to do so wasn't just about a new style of music, but about creating a whole new language: a new form of music with this new technology. Like Delia Derbyshire and Cosey Fanni Tutti and many other female pioneers, it's taken time for the world to catch up and for Ciani to be recognised for quite how significant her cultural contribution runs across how we hear what we hear. Now in her mid seventies, she shows no signs of slowing down, she speaks with Paul about some of the key musical moments in her life: California of the 60s, New York of the 70s, the importance of putting emotion into music and her work in spatial sound. Suzanne Ciani is touring from march to September this year, check out her tourdates herePaul's debut book, Coming To Berlin: Global Journeys Into An Electronic Music And Club Culture Capital is out now on Velocity Press. Episode Notes Rachel coincidentally ruins another desert creature and exposes why the vast majority of camels are actually grassland animals. This episode detours into evolution and the veterinary science realm to answer why prairies are probably the cause of the mass extinction of this North American (yeah) animal. Also: camels are weird. And they're not ruminants. Thanks for listening to our weekly exploration of why grasslands are the best biome. We'll see you next week! PS check out this cool paleoart of new world camels.
