In this holiday-themed episode of Kliq This, Kevin Nash and Sean Oliver take a heartfelt look at how the season has shifted for them over the years. Kevin shares memories of his family's Christmas traditions and reflects on how holidays have changed since the passing of loved ones—especially how the house used to light up for his late son, Tristen. He also talks about his recent bicep surgery. He gives a glimpse into his world of recovery, complete with tips on mobility, dealing with post-op discomfort, and adapting to daily life while healing. Sean chimes in with plenty of laughs and good-natured ribbing, making even the more challenging topics lighthearted and fun to follow. The conversation swings toward their classic wrestling road stories—late-night drives through snowstorms, brushes with near-disasters, and the camaraderie shared among friends in the business. Kevin discusses the old-school grit that defined the locker room in his era, and he and Sean riff on how the sport has evolved into today's style of performance and production. Between the tales of unexpected adventures behind the wheel, sharing holiday sentiments, and reminiscing about how wrestlers bonded on the road, this episode offers a warm and entertaining window into the holiday spirit and the enduring friendships that made it all worthwhile. "Ho-Ho-Ho, Mofos!" The Holiday Favorites line up is going into week three and we've got another great show for you this week as we're tackling another criminally underrated Christmas film. This week we are joining Henrique and David in Wichita Falls for a Christmas Eve caper that will leave you wondering where the film is going and who will be left by the end. A shady lawyer attempts a Christmas Eve crime, hoping to swindle the local mob out of some money. But his partner, a strip club owner, might have different plans for the cash in 2005s "The Ice Harvest"! Directed by Harold Ramis and starring John Cusack, Billy Bob Thorton, & Connie Nielsen. Hear your hosts discuss the discovery of this film several years back on a random Amazon rental, why Cusack and Platt steal the film with every scene they're in, what makes this an ideal Neo Noir with its lighting choices & Christmas Eve setting, plus Henrique and David share their reviews for "Red One" & "Y2k", and David shares a true story of dumb, drunken debauchery no one is ready for! On today's Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett is joined by Jim Moore for the first 45 minutes and they open up talking about former Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren being a finalist for the Hall of Fame. Puck and Jim worked with Mike for years at KJR and just love the man and tell some funny stories about him off the hair. No one is more deserving of him to go into the Hall of Fame. They touch in on the current landscape of college athletics and Puck asks Jim if it will ever go back to normal? Will John Mateer leave and is there anything new out there on that front. Puck was watching UW vs. UCLA on Tuesday and told Jim that whoever at Montlake Futures paid Great Osobor $3 million dollars, they need to get their money back. Rob Staton of SeahawksDraftBlog.comjoins Jason “Puck” Puckett for his weekly Seahawks conversation. Jim sticks around for the first few minutes to catch up with Rob. Rob details a funny story of calling a soccer game from the stands on BBC radio and nearly getting into a fight with fans. Once Jim leaves, they turn their attention to the Seahawks and their win over the Jets. Defense is playing lights out and starting to come into their own, but the offense is now stating to regress, why?Rob and Puck get into a lengthy discussion about Ryan Grubb and Rob wonders if the Seahawks made a mistake in hiring Grubb and will they perhaps make a change at the end of the season. Puck took a different approach and thinks the issues with the offensive line prevents him from truly evaluating Grubb as a play caller. Rob promotes his article on Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold and makes a case for Darnold in the offseason for Seattle. Finally, five games remain in the season, can the Seahawks get three more and win the division?Ryan Divish, Seattle Times, hops on with Jason “Puck” Puckett for a little Cold Stove Mariners talk. Winter meetings start in Dallas this week and so far the Mariners have been quiet on the free agent front How will they improve their infield? Is Alec Bohm in their plans? Carlos Santana or Justin Turner, which one do they plan to bring back. How aggressive should they be in pursuing Roki Sasaki ? Why does it make sense to trade Luis Castillo? Blake Snell got paid by the Dodgers, which shocked the baseball community. Where will Juan Soto end up? Ryan rails against the Golden At-Bat rule that MLB is thinking about implementing. Finally, “Landman.” One of the greatest shows on right now in television. Divish and Puck share their love for Billy Bob Thorton. Finally, “Hey, What the Puck!?” Puck says in regards to Ryan Grubb and for that matter Jake Dickert, fans need to practice patience. It's truly a lost art in our society…patience.

Participants: John Steppling, Dennis Riches, Shaenah Batterson, John Bower, Hiroyuki Hamada, and Lex Steppling. Topics discussed: Billy Bob Thorton in “Landman”: is Hollywood ditching the “woke” agenda? Is the pro-Palestine movement slowly becoming a gentrified signifier? Is Netanyahu on the way out? How can people be pro-Palestine and anti-Russia when they both have the same enemy? Distortion of history in works of fiction, as in “Bridgerton”, “Inglorious Basterds”, and “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”. Battleship fleets and nuclear weapons: are they useless in modern warfare? Russia swapped out nuclear warheads from a supersonic ICBM with Multiple Independently Targetable Re-Entry Vehicles (MIRVs), loaded them with conventional bombs, and made history with the first ICBM attack during warfare. Thanksgiving approaches after an autumn season of flirting with WWIII. Music track "Bemsha Swing" by Thelonius Monk (public domain).

Sadly, the case closes on this Noirvember. But, we have one more bullet in the chamber and that bullet has A Simple Plan written all over it. In the shadows of '98, a celluloid masterpiece emerged, swathed in the seductive embrace of noir's enigma and ethical quandaries. A Simple Plan transcended mere cinema; it plunged deep into the murky abyss of the human psyche.Director Sam Raimi, a maestro of the visual canvas, conjures a hauntingly picturesque scene. The snow-laden backdrop becomes a mirror, reflecting the characters' ever-distorting moral compasses. Bill Paxton, Billy Bob Thornton, and Bridget Fonda, leading players in this grim narrative, find themselves ensnared in a moral maze where trust and fidelity are precious commodities.Step into the dimly lit sanctum as we welcome listener, Patrick Smith, to our rendezvous. Together, we'll unravel the mystery etched into the celluloid fabric of this noir opus. Let's dissect Raimi's directorial finesse, savor Billy Bob Thornton's Academy Award nominated performance, and unearth the thematic elements that etch A Simple Plan into the pantheon of timeless film noir.In the world of noir, every tale is a moral labyrinth, and A Simple Plan stands as our guiding beacon through the murky waters of fate.A Simple Plan is directed by Sam Raimi and stars Billy Bob Thorton, Bill Paxton, Bridget Fonda, Brent Briscoe, Gary Cole, Chelcie Ross and Becky Ann Baker. This move sucks so hard!!"Going Overboard" is a 1989 comedy film that marked Adam Sandler's first starring role. The story revolves around Schecky Moskowitz, played by Sandler, a struggling comedian who takes a job as a waiter on a cruise ship. Dreaming of making it big in the comedy world, Schecky faces numerous challenges as he tries to showcase his talent amid a chaotic mix of eccentric passengers and crew members. The film is known for its slapstick humor, outrageous characters, and Sandler's early comedic style. While "Going Overboard" wasn't a critical or commercial success (no shit), it provides a glimpse into the early career of one of Hollywood's most successful comedians and serves as a testament to the evolution of his comedic talents over the years. In a podcast discussion, one might explore the film's reception, its place in Sandler's career trajectory, and the elements that contributed to its unique charm despite its initial shortcomings....you know, Billy Zane and Billy Bob Thorton was in this POS lmao!Check out the merch: http://shop.backinthedaypodcast.comFriends of the Show1 Man Mafia (twitch.tv/1man_mafia)Jayke The Gamer God (twitch.tv/JaykeTheGamerGod)IB Best Gaming (https://www.tiktok.com/@ibbestgaming)Intro for the shopSupport the show'Beavis and Butt-head' Cover art created by Joe Crawford
As you sort through your Thanksgiving leftovers and start your Christmas shopping, let Overlapping Dialogue serve the role of comforting holiday companion. We ring in the series of occasions with a pair of football movies that tug on the heartstrings- albeit in wildly different ways- with Heaven Can Wait and Friday Night Lights. But before they settle their respective differences on the gridiron, we as humble color commentators devour a full fledged meal with a Blue Plate Special lineup: listen as we discuss the latest edition of the Call of Duty franchise (Modern Warfare 3...again) and ponder what the yet-to-be-released Coyote vs. Acme and its stalled fate means for the future of the motion picture industry, as well as find theatrical solace with an unlikely trio of satisfying new releases in Anatomy of a Fall, The Holdovers, and Thanksgiving. Upon finally arriving to our pigskin-themed main event, we delight in the multi-hyphenate nature of the 1978 romantic comedy fantasy sports yarn and try and catch our breathes from the insistent, stifling DRAMA in all caps (no cap, fr fr) of the 2004 high school sports saga. Appropriately, we even enshrine one of this episode's subjects into our very own Hall of Fame, the Immune. Murder Comes Home - Carl Franklin's One False Move This week I take a look at Carl Franklin's 1992 directorial debut, the powerful and disturbing, One False Move. Featuring Bill Paxton, Billy Bob Thorton, Cynda Williams, Earl Billings, Jim Metzler, and Michael Beach, in a film the great film critic Roger Ebert called, "a powerful directing job. He (Franklin) starts with an extraordinary screenplay and then finds the right tones and moods for every scene, realizing it's not the plot we care about, it's the people." Gene Siskel would name it the best film of 1992. It was a thrill to re-watch it and record my thoughts on this brililant first film. Take a listen and let me know what you think. This week on Remainders, we talk the 1999 crime thriller A Simple Plan. Directed by Sam Raimi, mostly without his signature chaotic style, Bill Paxton and Billy Bob Thornton play brothers who discover a duffel bag of money and decide to keep it. Almost immediately, this apparent blessing turns into a curse as greed, violence, past trauma, and death all arise as a result. Paxton and Thornton reunite after One False Move and once again prove they are both timeless character actors.Other topics include the screenwriters and actors strike, Margot Robbie, the Boogie Nights soundtrack, new music picks, ranking the Mission: Impossible movies, and Tom Cruise as the last movie star.Songs of the WeekCocktails by Dennis WilsonMartha by Tom WaitsRemainders Jukebox PlaylistWebsiteFacebookInstagramYouTubeTwitter
This week on Remainders we watch the 1992 crime film One False Move. From director Carl Franklin and co-written by Billy Bob Thorton, Bill Paxton and Thorton lead this forgotten gem about three criminals clashing with a small-town sheriff. Paxton, the all-time great everyman, is at his best as naïve Chief Dale “Hurricane” Dixon, who is excited at the opportunity to become a real cop. But when his past comes to light, his will is put to the test. A Coen-esque thriller with the perfect Paxton performance that shouldn't be missed.Other topics include Bill Paxton's filmography, the summer sale at Darrenvorel.com, Jurassic Park at 30, the merits of VHS nostalgia, The Cure's new tour and upcoming album, Treat Williams and Cormac McCarthy, and a rally for the return of film commentaries.WebsiteFacebookInstagramYouTubeTwitter

The Mikes are helping Billy Bob Thorton blow up his barn and launch a rocket to space in this week's episode talking about the 2007 film The Astronaut Farmer.Mike Field and Mike Butler discuss the themes of this movie, like family and never giving up on your dreams. and how they carry this film from start to finish. Sure, building a rocket to space in your barn is kind of dumb, but Thorton, along with his wife (played by Virginia Madsen) and family make it a dumb idea that you root for. Add to that a substantial uncredited Bruce Willis, and you've got a feel-good charming movie. So, grab your popcorn and soda, please notice the exits to the left and right of you and settle down for Forgotten Cinema. 00:00 - Introduction01:44 - Film Summary02:06 - Film Facts08:04 - Film Discussion34:23 - Who Would You Recommend This Too?36:43- Why It's Forgotten41:13 - Where to Find Us

On this weeks Episode Will & Ian are forced into a game of Cat and mouse. Ian, a former criminal turned super secret, very specialized government spy who takes life WAY too seriously and Will, a Sociopath freelancer, willing to do whatever is necessary to get the job done, no matter the lives lost of property destroyed. He also has a sense of humor. He makes sense, in the grand scheme. Unlike Ian, who just grumbles and has no sense of levity or an understanding of the subject matter being dealt with. It's spy. It's basic. You've been there. You've done that. It's boring, it's dull its THE GRAY MAN Directed by: The Russo Brothers. Episode 19 - Review: The Gray Man (2022 Netflix film) A throwback to late 90's/early 2000's action movies, Netflix's upcoming action movie “The Gray” delivers on your action movie needs. Very few filmmakers live/eat/breathe action movies like the Russo brothers (“Captain America: Winter Soldier”, “Captain America: Civil War”, “Avengers: Infinity Wars”, “Avengers: Endgame”). This movie is one the largest movies by Netflix yet. It is huge in scale and has a hell of a cast with Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana De Armas, Billy Bob Thorton, Alfre Woodard, Shea Whigham and Dhanush. There are so many incredible action set pieces in this blockbuster film. “The Gray Man” is a very light and very thin action movie. It is a fun first installment of what is sure to be an exciting franchise that has a lot of potential to continue evolving in a similar fashion to “Mission Impossible”. You can check out “The Gray Man” on Netflix on Thursday July 22nd and (if you are in the States) in theaters too. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/sohrabsmovieq/message

Devin and Carolina cover the very polarizing Kravis wedding outfits and then jump into the beautiful, tragic, pornographic, confusing and sometimes… boring world of Sally Rooney adaptations. Why can't Frances make friends with someone she hasn't slept with? What's the difference between an awkward wombat and an awkward shivering deer in the woods (hint: one is hot)? Is Joe Alwyn a serial killer and did he play Billy Bob Thornton in a movie? Why can't anyone in these shows be funny? These and many more questions are answered in this episode.
