Ep 201: Why So Many Working Christian Moms Feel Far From God (And It's Probably Not Why You Think) Have you ever missed a few quiet times, had a chaotic work week, and quietly wondered… “Am I struggling spiritually?” As a working Christian mom, it can be easy to believe that feeling disconnected from God means you're failing in your faith. Maybe your Bible reading has been inconsistent. Your routines fell apart. Life feels loud with work deadlines, kids' schedules, laundry, emotional demands, and trying to keep up with everything on your plate. And somewhere along the way, you start wondering if you're “not doing enough” spiritually. But what if feeling far from God isn't actually about a lack of discipline, devotion, or love for Jesus? In today's episode, we're having a different conversation about faith, motherhood, spiritual growth, and what it looks like to pursue God in the middle of real life. We'll talk about: ✔️ Why many working Christian moms unintentionally measure spiritual health by productivity and performance ✔️ How our relationship with God can start looking like another checklist to manage ✔️ Why God's presence is not as fragile as we sometimes believe ✔️ What it means to practice awareness of God inside your everyday life ✔️ How different seasons may require different spiritual rhythms ✔️ A healthier question to ask when your routines no longer fit your current season If you've ever felt spiritually behind, guilty about inconsistent quiet time, or unsure how to stay connected to God while balancing work, motherhood, and faith — this episode is for you. Friend, God's closeness was never dependent on you getting your spiritual routine exactly right. He meets us in real life.   Loved this episode? For me it is a breakthrough for autism recovery.'The Bible has sacred information about your child, the symptoms, and how to deal with them. These verses reveal how to block healing and how to surrender to God's will. It's INSANELY FASCINATING. It's linked to neuroscience, your nervous system, Luke's Gospel, trauma healing, stress types, and emotional healing.Autism symptoms are supposed to bring you closer to God and reveal His plan. If we're focusing on the outcome, trying to get rid of symptoms, we're rebuking THE VERY CROSS that God is using to reveal HIS PLAN and HIS PURPOSE FOR YOUR LIFE RIGHT NOW. This is HUGE. The disciples made similar mistakes when they rebuked the children, and Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me". Motherhood is no small calling—and if you've ever felt the weight of it, you're not alone.  In this special Mother's Day week episode of the Raising Godly Girls Podcast, Rachael Culpepper and Melissa Bearden bring encouragement, honesty, and a little holy boldness to the conversation. From late-night theological questions in pajamas to the everyday rhythms of meals, messes, and meaningful moments, this episode is a heartfelt reminder that motherhood is full-contact ministry—and none of it is wasted.  With her signature passion, Melissa sets the tone by reminding moms that shame has no place in the life of a believer. Drawing inspiration from Scripture, she paints a powerful picture of walls falling, voices rising, and freedom found in Christ. Because as mamas raising girls in today's world, there's no room for fear or silence—we are called to stand firm, speak truth, and walk in confidence.  In this week's Raising Godly Girls Minute, Patti Garibay reflects on the sacred calling of motherhood and the daily dependence on God it requires. Through prayer, humility, and grace, moms are invited to partner with the Lord in shaping not just their daughters—but generations to come.  You'll also be reminded that motherhood was never meant to be done alone. God provides His presence, His strength, and His people to come alongside you—lifting your arms when you're weary and reminding you that you don't have to carry it all by yourself.  Whether you're in the thick of toddlerhood or navigating the young adult years, this episode is your invitation to take courage, lean into community, and trust that God is working in every faithful moment.  Because even on the hardest days, your King is still on the throne—and He is making all things new.    Two Things to Remember  Nothing is wasted with the Lord. Every prayer, every tear, and every faithful moment matters in God's greater story.   Take courage—Jesus wins in the end. Your hope is secure in the One who is making all things new.    Scriptures Referenced in This Episode  Joshua 6:1–20   Proverbs 22:6   Revelation 21:5    Visit raisinggodlygirls.com for more encouragement and faith-based parenting tools.  Learn how to find or start an American Heritage Girls Troop in your community at americanheritagegirls.org.

Have you ever heard your kids start fighting in the other room and felt your whole body tense up before you even knew what happened? In this episode, I'm sharing a calm sibling conflict plan for Christian moms who want peace in the home but often feel pulled into the chaos too quickly. I talk about what it looks like in our own neurodivergent family, with ADHD, autism, auditory processing challenges, different sound thresholds, and my own adult-diagnosed ADHD in the mix. Sometimes the goal is not to force everyone through a fast apology. Sometimes the wiser move is to stop and separate, calm and listen, and repair later when hearts and brains are ready. If you have ever stepped into a sibling fight too hot, talked too long, corrected before you understood the whole story, or tried to rush reconciliation because you just wanted the arguing to stop, this episode will give you a simple, faith-filled way forward. This week's reminder: sometimes we have to slow down to speed up. Your calling is supposed to shift. Your purpose never does. Misty shares the testimony that will free the Christian mom striving in the wrong season. Have you ever felt on fire for God — heart so full it needed somewhere to go — and then had Him redirect that fire somewhere you weren't expecting? Somewhere smaller, quieter, and far less visible than you had in mind?   In episode 99 of Mom2Mom Mentoring, I get honest about one of the most significant redirects of my life. In the mid-nineties, in the middle of a genuine community revival, I experienced an awakening to the love of God that lit me on fire. I was wired to build, to connect, to pour — and I was ready. But God's answer to my fire wasn't a platform. It was a kitchen table and four kids.   What followed was decades of faithfulness in unsexy, unglamorous, often invisible assignments — a homeschool co-op, teenagers at church, a children's ministry, people always around the table. And when the bottom fell out in 1998, and my marriage ended, I had to find her footing all over again. It was in that broken season that God gave me the longer vision: give it twenty years.   This episode is for the Christian mom who can't see evidence that her faithfulness is doing anything. The one asking God to show her He's working — and almost missing the answer because it comes in the form of a little boy quietly singing a worship song while playing with his toy cars on the floor.   In this episode: The difference between purpose (your why) and calling (your how) — and why your calling is supposed to keep shifting Why staying faithful in a hard, slow season costs something real — and why that's worth naming The exponential math God showed Misty about faithfulness in her own home What Isaiah 61:3 says about oaks of righteousness — and why some plantings take decades The harvest belongs to God, not to you — and why that is the most freeing truth you'll ever stand on A direct invitation to the BECOMING Cohort for women ready to stop striving and start living from purpose   Key Scripture Jeremiah 20:9 — His word like fire shut up in my bones Isaiah 55:8–9 — My thoughts are not your thoughts Isaiah 61:3 — Oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord 1 Corinthians 3:6–7 — I planted, Apollos watered, God made it grow Philippians 1:6 — He who began a good work will complete it   Free Resource Grab the Rhythms of Renewal Mini-Guide — a free workbook walking you through rest, restoration, and relationship, with a Discovery Bible Study through Matthew 11:28–30. Do you ever feel like your mind is constantly busy… thinking about everything that needs to get done, everything you are responsible for, and everything that feels uncertain? In this first episode of a 5-part mini series on experiencing God's peace, we talk about how spending time in scripture helps calm anxious thoughts and renew your mind — even in full and busy seasons of life. If you are a Christian working mom who feels mentally overloaded, stretched thin, or constantly thinking about your to-do list, this episode will encourage you with simple, practical ways to experience God's peace through His Word. You do not need hours of quiet time to begin feeling more grounded and spiritually supported. Even a few minutes in scripture can begin shifting your thoughts from pressure to truth. In this conversation, they discuss why helping kids identify their feelings is such an important part of spiritual and emotional growth, how simple tools can help kids express what they're feeling, and how parents can guide their children to invite God into every emotion—from anger and worry to joy and gratitude. In this episode of Legacy, Tina and Britt have an honest, relatable conversation about discerning deception in our world and why spiritual lies often look harmless, friendly, and familiar. From everyday cultural influences to subtle distortions of truth, this episode explores how deception can quietly shape our thinking, values, and faith—often without us realizing it. Tina and Britt reflect on real‑life experiences and generational perspectives to help Christian moms recognize false narratives, test what they hear, and stay grounded in biblical truth. If you've ever felt unsettled by cultural messages, social influences, or “Christian‑sounding” ideas that don't quite align with Scripture, this episode will encourage you to slow down, seek wisdom, and walk in spiritual discernment. It's a timely reminder that protecting our hearts—and the hearts of our children—begins with knowing the truth and being alert to deception. Have you ever felt prompted to do something and immediately wondered… Is this God speaking? Or is this just my anxiety? As a working Christian mom balancing career, family, responsibility, and faith, it can feel incredibly difficult to tell the difference between the voice of the Holy Spirit and your own overthinking. You want to obey God. You don't want to miss Him. But anxiety can sound urgent, spiritual, and convincing. In this episode, we talk about how to discern whether what you're hearing is truly God's voice — or anxious thoughts fueled by pressure, exhaustion, or fear. If you struggle with: Overthinking decisions Feeling pressure to “get it right” Anxiety that sounds spiritual Decision fatigue as a Christian mom Fear of missing God's will This conversation will bring clarity and peace. In This Episode, You'll Learn: The key differences between God's voice and anxiety Why anxiety feels urgent — and God rarely does The difference between conviction and condemnation How to filter your thoughts through Scripture A simple 3-question discernment grid you can use in real time Why exhaustion makes spiritual clarity harder How to grow confident in hearing God without fear For the Working Christian Mom Who Feels Overwhelmed Discernment isn't about being perfect. It's about becoming familiar with God's character. When you learn to distinguish peace from panic, you move from reactive living to faith-led decisions. And that changes everything. If this episode encouraged you, share it with another Christian mom who wrestles with anxiety and wants to grow in hearing God's voice with clarity and confidence. You don't need more noise. Where do our kids learn what they're worth – and how do we guide them toward the truth that their value comes from God, not achievements or approval? Today, Amy and Marissa are joined by returning guest Margaret Sharpe to talk about how the question of worth shows up at every stage of childhood, from early elementary through high school. Together, they unpack the lies that kids often believe about themselves, how those lies evolve as kids grow, and how Scripture speaks directly to the questions our kids are asking – even when they can't find the words for them. You'll also get a sneak peek into WinShape Camps' upcoming theme for summer 2026, ASCEND: Encounters with the Holy God, and walk away with gospel-centered truths to help your kids (and yourself) rest in the worth God has already given.--WinShape Camps 2026 Theme Preview: Ascend--Question of the Week: What do you think that God thinks about you?--Hosts: Amy Lowe & Marissa RayGuest: Margaret SharpeProducers: Emily Alters & Cody Braun--Learn more about WinShape Camps at WinShapeCamps.org!Instagram: @WinShapeCampsTikTok: @WinShapeCampsFacebook: @WinShapeCamps Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
