Join Say YES Sisterhood today.Plan your Space to Dream solo retreat here! Say Yes Sisterhood members get a special discount! In this soul-stirring episode, Wendy sits down with Forgiveness Teacher Dara McKinley to explore a groundbreaking approach to forgiveness that goes beyond simply pardoning or letting go. Dara vulnerably shares how the weight of a business that ended on difficult terms and years of negative self-talk led her to an unexpected realization: true forgiveness is about connecting with the profound power of unconditional love. Drawing from two decades of psychology and spirituality, Dara reveals how our brains are naturally wired for this healing process and offers practical steps to release old narratives and create inner peace. Whether you're carrying the baggage of past hurts or longing for emotional freedom, this conversation will inspire and equip you with the tools to transform your relationship with yourself and others.About Dara:Dara McKinley has studied and worked in the realm of spirituality and health for over three decades. In 2012, difficult life circumstances pointed her to forgiveness where she realized that many spoke prolifically about why one should forgive but no one spoke of how. Her background enabled her to successfully create and follow a forgiveness path that worked, but in the years that followed, the experience made her see some significant themes. In particular, she saw how mainstream forgiveness understanding (pardoning, ceasing anger, having compassion, and letting go) was obscuring the forgiveness path. She also saw that people who identified as spiritual-but-not-religious required a forgiveness path that was clear, and logical. This inspired Dara to devote her professional life to understanding forgiveness' infrastructure and to making forgiveness the practical healing modality it was always meant to be.Connect with Dara:On Instagram @daramckinleyHowToForgive.comDaraMcKinley.comReferenced in this Episode:Dr. Jill Bolte TaylorCathy HellerA Course in Miracles________________________________________________________________________________________ Say YES to joining Wendy for her:Say YES Sisterhood PWH Farm StaysPWH Curated France TripsInstagram: @phineaswrighthouseFacebook: Phineas Wright HouseWebsite: Phineas Wright HousePodcast Production By Resonant Collective Want to start your own podcast? As massage therapists, we often rely on learning new modalities or rely on many of the ones we learned in college as a way to help our patients. But does it really matter which modality we use? There are so many other factors that contribute to better outcomes when people come to see us, the modality we use while the person receives treatment matters less than we've been lead to believe. Let's start to worry less about learning new ways to touch people and start focusing on what we can do to get them back to doing the activities that are important to them. To say that he past few weeks have been hard would be a huge understatement. So this week's episode is all about how we can care for ourselves when it feels like the world is on fire. And, while that is not our lesson to teach, we are talking in this episode about: the importance of caring for ourselves & leaving room for our humanity in times of high stress; why it's okay that we all need different things to meet our needs for self-care & processing; and some practical ways that we can engage in self-care right now.And in a move to honor her needs for space, Naomi has extended the deadline to join the waitlist for her new & improved 1:1 Intuitive Eating & Anti-Diet coaching. This week, we're talking all about life after diets! We often hear mantras in mainstream body positivity like "you're not a number on a scale", and those can be great entry points into breaking out of diet culture. But they only tell us what we're not. Often, when we've spent a lot of time within diet culture, our diet & exercise choices become part of our identity. We identify as "the healthy one" or "the fit one." And, if that's the case, imagining a life without diets can feel really scary & complicated! So, today's episode is all about how we can start figuring out who we are if we're not dieting. We're talking about: why it's important to separate behaviors from identities; how diet culture can disconnect us from who we really are; and some ways to start exploring our personalities, values, and preferences outside of diet culture. Plus, we both share some of our own experiences with finding life after diets! And if you're interested in starting to reimagine your own life after diets, the waitlist for Naomi's new & improved 1:1 Intuitive Eating & Anti-Diet coaching is now open! This week, we're talking all about a specific practice that we spend a lot of time on in Intuitive Eating - reframing our food beliefs! We've all absorbed a million beliefs about food from diet culture. We get these beliefs from specific diets, from health & wellness professionals, from fitness professionals, from the media, and from our friends & families. And a big part of our work when we start ditching diet culture is to start noticing these old narratives & replacing them with new narratives that better fit our lived experiences, the scientific facts, and our values. But sometimes it can be hard to know how to get started with building new narratives! In this episode we're talking about: a framework for finding impactful reframes for our food beliefs; why we don't recommend using scripts for reframing & why authenticity works better; and some specific examples of how to reframe some common food beliefs!
