How does Caine identify as half-dog exactly? Does Sean Be(e)an have the dumbest character name ever? What in the world is Eddie Redmayne doing with this performance? Was there a secretly brilliant montage in the movie that everyone loved? Find out this week! Next week: Patrick Skate-zee. Les Miserables is a film adaptation of the period musical of the same name. Released in 2012, it followed the exploits of Jean Valjean, an escaped convict going to great lengths to find personal redemption at the height of the French Revolution. The film version, directed by Tom Hooper, sought to emulate the epic scope of the stage musical, and featured grandiloquent and verbose set pieces and crowded chorus numbers, with an ensemble cast led by Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Eddie Redmayne, and numerous others. The film was a major box office hit, won many Academy Awards (Including a noteworthy Supporting Actress win for Hathaway), and set a new standard for movie musicals featuring live performances by the actors as opposed to backing tracks...in spite of largely receiving middling reviews upon its release. On a new episode of Hell Is A Musical, Lilz and Scott welcome back Maggie Noel (Friend of the pod and late of the Rock Candy podcast) to help them through a viewing of Les Miserables. Join them as they slog their way through an obscene amount of extreme close-ups, marvel at just how British 19th century France is in the action, and make a lot of the same jokes everyone's already made about Russell Crowe's singing voice.(It's not good.)...with Lilz and Scott!

Starring Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis with Sean Bean, Eddie Redmayne and Douglas Booth in supporting roles, the film is centered on Jupiter Jones (Kunis), an ordinary cleaning woman, and Caine Wise (Tatum), an interplanetary warrior who informs Jones that her destiny extends beyond Earth. Jupiter Ascending was released in the United States on February 6, 2015, by Warner Bros. Pictures. The Day of the Jackal). The last few years have seen a number of new entries on the cinematic hit list, from David Fincher's The Killer to Richard Linklater's Hit Man. TV has also seen its fair share of hitmen in the last year; the reboot of the 2005 Brad and Angelina film Mr and Mrs Smith; Eddie Redmayne donning various elaborate disguises in a Day of the Jackal update, as well as Black Doves. It seems these days hitmen are among TV and film's most wanted. Mark talks to critic Christina Newland about the history of crime cinema's enigmatic icon, exploring everything from cult oddities such as Branded to Kill to the female assassin of the 90's such as Nikita and The Long Kiss Goodnight.Ellen goes deep on cult classic Le Samouraï with Kill List and A Field in England director Ben Wheatley and academic Ginette Vincendeau; they discuss the relationship between hitmen and samurai in cinema.Produced by Queenie Qureshi-Wales A Prospect Street production for BBC Radio 4

Zdroj zvukov: Facebook / Mark Zuckerberg Odporúčanie: Mojim dnešným odporúčaním je špionážny sériál The Day of the Jackal, v ktorom nepolapiteľný Eddie Redmayne zabíja na objednávku. Ak máte radi Jamesa Bonda, ide o niečo podobné, ale aspoň podľa mňa oveľa sofistikovanejšie a nepredvídateľnejšie.
Send us a textThe Day of the Jackal was a popular novel that was made into a thrilling film in 1973. Sky and Peacock have updated and fleshed out the story with a ten episode series starring Eddie Redmayne as the cold-blooded assassin. Thrilling stuff - Mark gives his review!Support the show
We decide to look at a more recent film for our "Oh, Nurse!" month with this Netflix film based on real life events. The Crew discuss what was, what is, and what could have been done with this story. We also debate on what the film was trying to say and did it really need Eddie Redmayne and Jessica Chastain in it. We also go on a tangent about the Psycho remake.
‘Reign' Season 10 really is serving you ICONS, and today we are joined by the Spanish superstar Úrsula Corberó. Úrsula has been working in Spain since she was six years old in shows like the huge teen drama ‘Física o Química', but in lockdown she shot to international fame when she played Tokyo in the Netflix drama, ‘Money Heist'. It blew up, becoming one of their biggest Netflix shows ever, and saw Úrsula gain 20 million Instagram followers overnight. Now, Úrsula is ramping up the intensity again starring in Day of The Jackal which follows the Jackal, an elite sniper and assasin played by Eddie Redmayne and his wife Nuria, played by Úrsula, who slowly starts to discover his secret life. It's SO GOOD and you can watch it on Sky TV and NOW. I LOVED talking to Úrsula as she really says it as it is. We bonded over the exhaustion of being in our mid thirties, how over ‘growth' we are, setting boundaries and she drops some game changing life advice I immediately started using, so hope it will be for you too! Úrsula also tells me about how overwhelming overnight fame was, how being told to behave as a child actor kept her quiet into adulthood and how she now is done with behaving. YES BABE! There are also some amazing words on why we need to stop saying we are lucky and lean into how deserving we are for our success and I really hope this episode inspires you to step into your power. If you do love the episode, get in touch and tell me all about it. You can find me across socials @joshsmithhhosts and don't forget to come back for next week's episode where I will be chatting to the incredible Richard E. Grant! Then, Esmeralda Leon joins Nick to share weird Thanksgiving stories, including feeding friends and Nick's infamous 1993 drunken trip to Detroit to see the Lions play the Bears. Esma also talks about discovering The Sopranos (she's all about Furio!) and explores why some people, not from California, become die-hard Raiders fans. They wrap up the episode by finishing their snack-tasting journey through Italy. [Ep301]

Dan and Raul saw the first episode of Day of the Jackal, a book made and remade into films until finally landing on an Eddie Redmayne led show about an international assassin and MI6 agent on his tail. This one is dripping with style and talent, with plenty of fan buzz after premiering. They also caught the premier of an anticipated oddball show called Interior Chinatown, another book adaptation about a waiter who feels like a background character in a crime drama, with the added hook that the show within a show rules seem to affect his life as well. Spoiler, the shows are worth the conversation and will probably come up again so check this pod out and get in the know!

Lashana Lynch has had a pretty incredible few years: she was the first ever Black female agent with a licence to kill in the James Bond franchise, played a ferocious warrior (and performed her own stunts) in The Woman King, became part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and portrayed Mrs Honey in the movie adaptation of Matilda. Now she's back in a Sky adaptation of The Day of the Jackal, co-starring Eddie Redmayne. It's a long way from her working-class upbringing in Hammersmith, West London - a childhood she credits with teaching her resilience and grit…as well as the importance of dressing well. I loved chatting to Lashana - she's so smart and strong and interesting. We discuss grief, racism, people-pleasing and her failure to stop procrastinating about procrastination. Az adás vendége Pető Kata színésznő, aki a jelenleg a mozikban futó Egy százalék indián című Hajdu Szabolcs-film egyik főszereplője, illetve látható mostanában a MILF című frenetikus előadásban is, amelyben élettársával, Rohonyi Barnabással játszik együtt. Eddie Redmayne-ről, akivel együtt forgatott tíz évvel ezelőtt (a Madárdal című minisorozatban) és most nyáron is (A sakál napja című minisorozatban). Robert Pattinsonról, akivel a The Childhood of a Leader című filmben szerepelt együtt. A nagy korkülönbségről a párkapcsolatában (18 évvel idősebb a szerelménél).
