Returning to running postpartum is one thing. Then add pelvic floor problems to the mix. Now imagine you're an ultra-runner who likes to do 100-plus mile races. This is Sophie Power.Since a photo of her breastfeeding her baby mid-race went viral, Sophie has been working to empower more women to get active. Then she made a film about her postpartum return to running only to discover - on camera - that she has pelvic organ prolapse.Helen talks to Sophie about pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence and her journey back to fitness after childbirth - despite being told she may never run again - and how important it is that mums are helped to reach their goals, whatever they are. There's so much research that shows that the mums activity level is linked through their children's. So if we want to have active children, we need to be active ourselves and we need help to be active. And what we need to do is make sure that women demand that care and demand that referralSophie Power is @ultra_sophie on Instagram You can watch 'Sophie Power - The Journey from Pregnancy to Performance' here Find out more about Squeezy App hereFor help with your pelvic floor exercises read thisFor great advice and info follow physio Emma Brockwell on Instagram Sophie campaigns for the charity, Women in Sport, which you can find hereSophie mentioned EVB shorts - find out more hereHelen talks about NHS England's plans to improve pelvic health by 2024, in part by making specialists clinics available to all. This week Grainne and Emma are joined with Inemesit Graham a fitness professional, pregnancy, and postpartum athleticism coach. In season 1 we spoke with Illiyin Morrison, a midwife and birth trauma specialist who regularly highlights and educates about racial inequalities in healthcare. Today we wish to build upon that conversation by delving deeper and gaining wider perspectives from Inemesit Graham. Inemesit was born in Nigeria, moving to England when she was 5 years old, and has currently resided in Canada for the last 13+ years. She is the founder of Mummy Fitness, an online perinatal fitness platform and her passion for health and fitness stems from her own struggles of understanding her body. Body image issues trace back to early childhood when she moved to the UK, highlighting the societal expectations and constructs created in the western world. Her journey into motherhood further challenged body image and expectations. The more Inemesit began to learn and understand about her body, the less she disliked it. She is now a voice of self-appreciation and racial equality and inspires women all around the world. Her goal is to offer a decolonized approach to fitness based on body liberty and not body oppression. Inmiddels is Van Belzen opnieuw getrouwd.

Another set in the highly acclaimed Summer Annual series recorded by Earl Von Bye. A set as daring and mysterious as the highway and surrounding area in Nevada it's named for. Masterful in its blending if genres, perfect in its simplicity, and secretive in its track list. Conspiracy? After you listen and find yourself dancing with no explanation...You will WANT to believe. Love always, The Drunken Monkey.
I am the Bad Wolf. I create myself. I take the words... I scatter them, in time and space. A message, to lead myself here. I want you safe, my Doctor. Protected from the false God. You are tiny. I can see the whole of time and space, every single atom of your existence, and I divide them. Everything must come to dust. All things, everything dies. The time war ends... How can I let go of this? I bring life. The sun and the moon, the day and night... but why do they hurt? I can see everything... all that is... all that was... all that ever could be. Allons-y! The Doctor Monkey.

The Year 2000 " This my friends is science fiction..." Love always, The Drunken Monkey ;)
Originally released 7 years ago. Starship was the 7th release in the acclaimed Earl Von Bye Summer Annual series... Why a Turtle? Love always, The Drunken Monkey :P
It is the year 2002. Come back with us to a time when Trance reached its peak and crowds of ravers and clubbers raised hands in the air in unity. The music fueled us at 27.0 (140 bpm) Goosebumps on our arms and the energy of the universe flowed around us. We were together and we were underground! DJ's actually mixed the music, it was the last days of vinyl records. As they say, they don't make music like this anymore! There is no room big enough for this! If you were there, you know the score. So for those of us that remember the Earl Von Bye summer annual SANCTUARY, its a time of reverence....ten years later a classic is timeless. For the rest of you, please prepare yourself for an EPIC journey and the adventure of a lifetime. Words do not describe this, and quite literally this set changed some peoples lives. So dance like today is your last day! Dance like you're on Carrousel! Be strong and you shall be renewed! Or of course you could always RUN...!! Good luck runner, may you find Sanctuary! Love and Run (always run), The Drunken Monkey.
If Earl Von Bye was in Star Wars he would be Obi-Wan Kenobi. Jedi Knight: a shining example. Master: to some. Hero: to others. General: the highest rank. Crazy Old Wizard: hes been called that! Old Man Preaching Hokey Religions & Ancient Weapons: hmmm yes, vinyl records and SL1200's! Damn Fool Idealistic Crusader: yes especially this! We like to poke fun at old "Obi-Von Bye", but consider: That "old man" defeated the first Sith Lord in over 1000 years, went toe to toe with a droid general, the galaxy's badest bounty hunter, not to mention 2 more Sith Lords, one of them being the most powerful that ever lived, you may have heard of him: Darth Vader! The Verdict: More powerful than you could possibly imagine! EVB has named this set after his hero and idol. His tribute to an unsung hero. Indeed those who know EVB will attest that he lives by a code like a Jedi and even exibits similar traits to his hero: Humble confidence, quiet strength, boundless courage. He is wise, calm, calculating. A deep thinker, maybe too serious at times. Dry sense of humour? Yes that too! This set was recorded entirely with vinyl records on only a pair of Technics SL1200's...An elegant weapon for a more civilized age. Please enjoy the story and journey you are about to hear. Let the Force surround you, penetrate you and bind the Galaxy together. Oh and one last thing: You don't need to see his identification, these aren't the droids you're looking for, you can go about your business, move along...May The Force Be With You, The Drunken Monkey

Chuck La Vida! Friend of the Monkey's! A Hero abroad! His is a story of success and maybe a little bit of luck. He first entered the scene as a local Calgary club kid, known to follow our very own EVB loyally to every show. Thus inspired, he first took up the mantle of the decks and honed his own skills. Second he moved to the international city of Vancouver to study Sound Design. Finally he become the superstar DJ he is today, and travels the world with an entourage of swedish massage girls...Well, 2 out of 3 aint bad! Superstar not yet, but new recruit to Drunken Monkey? Help us decide, drop us a line and tell us if he is worthy. Above all, please enjoy the music of Chuck La Vida - Technikal. Dance Your heart out, that's what it's all about. Love and Vancouver (Go Canucks!), The Drunken Monkey

Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter! This set was recorded earlier in 2010 and was dedicated to someone he would only say was his "true love"...
