Sarah complements the discussion by focusing on her favorite looks from Coachella 2025 while reporting on trends she's noticing celebrities and influencers wear, from futuristic space age grunge to sexy sport and Western bohemian with a touch of feminine whimsicality. She also tries a coconut bowl from Playa Bowls as a nod to the treat she's always associated with music festivals.Whether you're in need of outfit advice or in the midst of a style dilemma, the Shoe Therapy hotline is open for your anonymous texts and voicemails. Claire Sulmers is the Founder and CEO of the notorious digital fashion publication Fashion Bomb Daily. Her ascent into becoming one of the industry's top self-made media moguls was not an easy one. Often met by industry gatekeepers who refused to give Claire a seat at the table, the Stone Mountain, Georgia native built her own. Equipped with an unrelenting dream and her Harvard degree in French and African American studies, Claire charted her own path by taking internships and positions at publications like Upscale magazine, Newsweek, and Real Simple, where she built a fashion empire in her cubicle. To take her career to the next level, Claire took a risk by moving to Paris, France, and landing a coveted internship at Vogue Paris working under the legendary Corine Roitfeld. Upon her return to the U.S., Claire's blog was booming and transformed into a full-fledged business and the successful brand we all know today. Kirsten Holtz Naim sits down with Claire to discuss her unique career path, her quest to show the diversity of black fashion, not forgetting to celebrate the small wins, and the importance of putting God first. Subscribe to this channel and click on the notification bell for more great contenthttps://linktr.ee/nikimarieradioMy special guest on this episode is Tania Richardson. Tania is a Philadelphia native who now resides in Los Angeles. A 15-year entrepreneur, commercial actress, avid traveler, and a woman of fashion, whose style, according to Fashion Bomb Daily is “very alluring and sophisticated,” is an individual who pushes others to create their best work.Richardson symbolizes independence and power. A woman of fashion, whose style, according to Fashion Bomb Daily, is “very alluring and sophisticated,” was disappointed after her finding after research that advertisers cater less to women 40–55 years old. In fact, a report by Girlpower Marketing found that disposable incomes are highest for boomer women aged 45-54. They are at the peak of their careers, and statistically, are the least impacted by the recession. Boomer women buy 65 percent of new cars, 91 percent of new homes, and 92 percent of travel but, 91 percent feel that marketers do not understand them while brands are still having a hard time recognizing it. With that in mind, Richardson put her foot forward and created Hey Lady, an informative YouTube original, and social media platform movement to change the stigma of what women over forty look like. The mission is to motivate, empower, and encourage women to live their best lives. The platform features beautiful and powerful women over forty who have a passion for fashion, a love of travel, and an interest in owning or growing a business. Hey Lady™ is a movement that is building organically. The objective is to use Richardson’s life as an inspiration to women around the world to know that life truly begins at forty. Expectations for the brand is that it becomes a global phenomenon where mentorship programs for young ladies are built. “We are our biggest advocates and representation matters,” she explains. “When women see other women living their best life, this will hopefully reignite what may be missing in their lives. It is important to see positive images of women being more than a mom.” This year has not been without challenges. Between product development and production, Richardson’s workload has been overwhelming. However, her top challenge is brand awareness and brand recognition. “My audience must identify my brand based on visual indicators as my logo and colors, but l need to elicit feelings and emotions in my target audience, and this is not my lane,” she states. She addressed this challenge by hiring seasoned professionals that have produced and are implementing a strategic communications plan (public relations, social media, and content marketing). “The plan is for my company to gradually gain national publicity and social media followers, and so far I’ve been reading feedback about how much our supporters are inspired by and believe in our message.” Besides being a mother of an amazing seventeen-year-old son, her biggest accomplishment to date was taking on a new business venture by launching Hey Lady™. “I stepped out on faith and believed it would happen,” she states. And although she’s no stranger to business—representing a fortune 500 company and securing over four thousand clients consistently for eight years—building a lifestyle platform for women, that is organically turning into a movement was a completely new entrepreneurial move for her. While 2020 was about launching the business, she says, “2021 will be about continuing the movement.” An individual who pushes others to create their best work, she is passionate about life. She's a daughter, sister, aunt, and mother of a eighteen-year-old son whom she co-parents with former fiancé and former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, Kordell Stewart. She has no regrets in life and serves as a beacon for all to follow. She stand by her favorite quote, “I don’t make excuses, I make adjustments.”Make sure you follow Tania on all social media platforms and learn more about her and her mentorship initiative. https://www.instagram.com/heyladybytania/https://linktr.ee/Heyladybytania#Mentorship#Tania Richardson#WomenEmpowerment

More than a decade ago, Atlanta, Georgia, native Claire Sulmers set out wth the ambitious dream of creating a space where fashionistas, stylists and fashion lovers of color could see themselves celebrated, represented and acknowledged online at a time when the fashion industry took little to no interest in doing the same. FashionBombDaily.com was born, and today Claire has grown the brand to become a disruptor in the industry, has more than 1.3 million followers on social media, written a book, The Bomb Life, and hosts events around the world. But in May of 2018, a sudden deletion of all of the Fashion Bomb's Instagram accounts cut of the brand's access to its dedicated readers, and sent Claire into survival mode as she and her team worked furiously to restore their accounts. On this episode of the Support is Sexy podcast, Claire openly shares what happened to those accounts, how she survived that scary time in her business and the bitter but beneficial lessons she learned about the importance of diversifying your brand.
On this episode, we are joined by the remarkable @clairesulmers, founder of @fashionbombdaily, and we talk about the current State of Fashion. Speaker. Author. Influencer. Claire Sulmers is a Harvard Graduate and founder of the entertainment website, Fashion Bomb Daily, the number one online destination for multicultural fashion. The Fashion Bomb Daily Instagram's page recently disappeared from our timelines after grossing over one million followers! During this time of bewilderment, Claire sits down with me to discuss the transition in her career. Claire has helped break Fashionistas like Luvvie, Angel Brinks, Conna Walker of House of CB and author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie with her spotlight of Bombshell of the Day. She has encouraged female entrepreneurship with marketing and promotion through her website as well as supporting new designers clothing as a Brand Ambassador. In January 2017 I had an opportunity to meet Claire when she appeared in Houston, Texas as the keynote speaker for Super Bold, a Superbowl event hosted by Nicole Coleman. After her multiple events in Houston, we finally were able to connect and discuss her iconic career as an entrepreneur and journalist. She joined me in the studio over the summer during her Convo's with Claire event. Being a a huge fan of her book, I share the influence that is has made on my own career choices. Our chat includes details about her closet, changes with her hair and how she began her career in fashion. We take a journey to Atlanta, New York, Paris and possibly California to get to know Claire's witty, funny side as we discuss all things fashion.
On this episode, we hear from Claire Sulmers, an author, entrepreneur, and Creator of Fashion Bomb Daily. Claire lets us in on the twists and turns that led her to write for publications like Vogue Paris and Essence magazine, penning a book, and building a staple cultural fashion brand with over a million followers then facing a plot twist when the heart of her business was shut down by Instagram. She shares her lessons learned, tips to keep going, how she was able to transition her blog content to social media and scale plus so much more.Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/fashionbombdailymag/?hl=enPick My Brain Session - https://www.switchpivotorquit.com/schedule-sessionSPQ Resources - https://switchpivotorquit.teachable.comInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/switchpivotorquit/www.SwitchPivotorQuit.comWho is host, Ahyiana?Ahyiana Angel is traditionally published author and host of the Switch, Pivot or Quit podcast, who is affectionately known as the Chief Encourager. In episode #117 of the Better Than Success Podcast, host Nicole Purvy interviews Claire Sulmers. Ms. Claire Siobhan Sulmers is the founder of FashionBombDaily.com, and the industry’s leading fashion blogger chronicling fashionistas of color. Her pioneering work ushered in a new wave of digital journalism that fed and fueled an under-served community of African-American and Latino style lovers wanting to know more about brand from the culture. Beyond developing and directing content for FashionBomb Daily and its affiliate sites, Sulmers has done extensive style writing for other platforms including Vogue Italia , Vogue Paris , and ESSENCE Magazine. Her body of work and online following - now numbered above one million - has made Ms. Sulmers the influencer of choice for major corporate brands who want to reach her audience including Toyota, Reebok, Verizon, and mother. Ms.Sulmers, who hails from Atlanta, Georgia, holds a degree in French and African American studies from Harvard University. In 11 years, Claire has accumulated over 1.3 million followers, written a book “The Bomb Life”, and is now working on her 2nd book. How Claire Sulmers built one of the largest multicultural fashion media companies? After going to Harvard University, Claire always knew her passion was in TV and writing. She consciously went to New York after graduation and applied to almost every internship in TV in the city she could and she couldn't land an internship. Claire then had to move back to her home in Atlanta, Georgia with her parents while her dream was not happening the way she thought it would. Not losing faith, Claire then continued her search for internships in her hometown. She sent a sample of her work to an upscale magazine company and was finally offered and unpaid internship. After working with the company for some time, they had an opening in the fashion department and offered her a job writing cover pieces. Although she was grateful for the opportunity, Claire knew her heart was in another place and she denied the position to follow her dreams. Moving on, Claire Sulmer decided to give New York another shot after having some background and she moved to New York. There she was offered internships that were very low paying, but she knew she had to do it. Finding her passion in Fashion, she started her own blog, The Fashion Bomb Daily. Following her career path at the time, she built relationships with other blogs and big companies started to link her. Now, at this time Claire became one of the first bloggers at New York Fashion Week. Claire shares in this interview that she would crash the fashion shows with her professional camera and catch a ton of exclusive shots. Claire then created her job that she has until this day being as though it didn't exist in her early stage of finding her career. At the time, she was still working her job and realized she had to quit and focus on her blog full-time. She shares stories on how long it took (4 years) being in the business and when she was able to finally start making enough money. Another turn hit Claire’s career journey when she decided she wanted to move to Paris. At the time, no one would hire her in Paris because they didn't take her serious being so far away from Paris. She then moved to Paris and lived with a friend of hers mother's apartment. Claire tells the audience how she moved to Paris with no money saved (she even spent all of her 401K savings before moving). She then tells the audience to “ask and you shall receive” after she shared that she asked for a job and went in in for an interview and landed the job...in Paris, she called this a miracle. Moving on, Claire created a path for herself and built one of the largest multicultural fashion media companies by working towards her goals. Katina loss her son in March 2008, and she felt God moving her into her purpose so she created the Mourning Moms blog and community to help other grieving mothers like herself. Her goal through Mourning Moms is to create a national movement dedicated to women of child loss. From pregnancy loss, still birth, and infant/child loss the goal is to keep you encouraged and in hope of what God said you would naturally have. Katina shares in this interview how she is called to this work and how it is okay for us to mourn. Katina Nish's Bio Hi, I'm Katina Nish(K.Nish). I'm a published freelance model/writer with four years of experience in industrial like projects. Featured on the number one multicultural online magazine, "Fashion Bomb Daily", I've successfully modeled for several brands. Here's how it started! One day on March 25, 2008, I found myself holding my son's lifeless body. I visually struggled with that image for six long years and the only way to express my broken insides was with picture and words. My personal photographer, D Mayfield (at the time) and I collaborated every week creating images. I then moved on to pursue a strong modeling career which took me a great few places. However, I realized that I equally wanted to write and I had neglected my duties to do so. I had perfect images with no purpose. That's when God told me to create an national movement edifying/encouraging women. He told me as long as I forever centered my pursuits with this platform he would supply the needed liquids to my thirst. This is how "The Mourning Moms" came about! "The Mourning Mom" is national movement dedicated to women of childloss. From pregnancy loss, still birth, and infant/child loss the goal is to keep you encouraged and in hope of what God said you would naturally have. My ultimate goal is to travel the world meeting women just like us. In hopes, that united together we become the ultimate source of grief support. I plan to execute this goal through biblical love and women empowerment.
