She plucks the cards as I shuffled them and we dive into the depths of love in this case the ocean filled with mermaids.. what did we leave behind? What is our foundation (hint: it's ego versus humility..) and I relate this to Mercury retrograde and what is in the next 3 weeks for us which is frozen observation and giving ourselves time to heal and time to think and reflect and to really take a decent look through the mirror and what we need to do to go forward in the direction of our love dreams. This is a reading appropriate for single people that do or do not want relationship, people that are married, any kind of relationship or especially those that are waiting for are one true love, soulmates or our twin flames.

Intro- How do you define “home?” Home felt unreachable to me as a child, because my idea of home was built around a nuclear family dynamic that I didn’t have. After my mom spent a year in the hospital, and ultimately survived Leukemia, I felt like home could always be taken from me. It took years to learn how to find home within myself. How can you find home within, so you can be “at home” with others? Selima Lust interview Clinical Herbalist, medical astrologer, and spiritual teacher My wife Tami and I started our company in 2011 manufacturing body care products. Came out of a need to find solutions to our health concerns that were not being addressed in the medical field. After years of healing physically, I recognized the remaining inflammation was trauma related. You have to heal your emotional wounds to heal your physical pain. So many people are afraid to go into the past and heal what’s hurting them, but it’s so worth it. You can’t even imagine the kind of things that are waiting for you on the other side. You go through so many layers of healing the same trauma. At some point, you develop a process for yourself for triggers or resistance, you’re able to move through it with more ease and grace When you make space for the new, all kinds of things change. The Tower Card has to happen, it is going to happen. AND--it’s only a moment. You will move through to the new. Boundaries How do you walk the line between explaining why your boundaries are what they are, without telling someone how to do their own process? There is a compassionate way to communicate a boundary, and that needs to be at the center of the communication. To the other person, this new boundary is divergent from what’s always been the dynamic. And that takes a practice of compassion. It’s an educator role, and a reinforcement for yourself too. How did you and your wife process your trauma together, and build a business around that, without losing your boundaries or individuality? A natural thing that happens in any relationship, especially the beginning, is you start to dissolve into each other, but you find your way when you realize “oh we’ve melded too much with each other. Let’s find our way back to our individuality within this relationship.” We like the same things. We talk a lot. I had to learn how to move and push through my uncomfortability communicating. We don’t try to soften blows. We listen to each other’s perspectives. You need to communicate because your behavior is changing based on your thinking, and your partner can’t read your mind. Call out and notice changes in body language. So much communication can happen non-verbally, and be used in the moment as opposed to letting a story build up in your head about what the other person was thinking. You can communicate anger or pain, and if you do it with an open heart, it will be received in a way that can be processed. If you’re working on your stuff, and becoming more and more whole, you’ll be able to find the balance between expressing vulnerability and acknowledging that it’s your work to do and not theirs. At first, we didn’t want kids. But after 6 years together and healing trauma, we opened up so much space and so much love to give, and that’s how we came to be parents. If I keep growing, and keep healing trauma, my son will be ok. Even in utero, practice talking to your kids like they’re 20 or 30. Talk to them like you have the relationship you want to have with them when they’re 20 or 30. Working through your trauma can change your ability to care for others, including children. What is your favorite product to use with clients? Immunity syrup--we have the ability to maintain our health and heal ourselves, away from traditional power structures. Words are like seeds of intention. What seeds would you like to plant with our listeners to grow the queendom? Choose joy! In every decision consider, your choices, your words...what’s in alignment with joy? Even if it's the harder thing, choose joy. Q&A : What’s your relationship like with water? We are mostly water, it is fundamental to our existence. Who has access to clean water? How do we keep the water we have access to, clean? Use less water at home. Be intentional about noticing the gift of water, everytime you use it. Water takes on sound frequencies, it responds to emotional cues. Water is conscious. Write me, let me know how it’s going! How to get out of your comfort zone by Steven Webb, episode 28 of the podcast stillness in the Storm's. Become a patron: https://stevenwebb.com/patreon Transcribe EP28 – Getting Out Of Your Comfort Zone Host and Presenter: Steven Webb ______________________________________________________ Intro: How do we get out of our comfort zone? That was one of the most difficult things we'd ever do. And the only way you hear all these wonderful quotes everywhere on the internet about freedom is on the other side of your comfort zone in this wonderful Utopian world if you could only get out of your comfort zone. What is your comfort zone and how do we get out of it? I'm Steven Webb and this is Stillness in the Storms Podcast, and I help you to get through difficult times and give you a little inner peace. Before I start on that, I'd like to say thank you to my patrons: Farrell, Clint, Sheryl, Yvonne, and Maureen. Thank you, guys. Thank you for supporting what I do. And if any of you want to become a patron, head over to stevenwebb.com and there's a link at the top to 'Patron'. Otherwise, thank you for listening to this podcast. Thank you for tuning in. How was your week then? My week has been pretty good. It's so interesting now. The world's opening up and there's so much change and there's so much frustration and there's so much anger and fear and yeah, there's a lot going on this week. There's a lot of energy, there's a lot of uncertainty and in all this uncertainty, there is this automatic out of our comfort zone. This is what we don't like, we don't like being out of our comfort zone. So I thought I'd do a podcast about comfort zone and about how we step out of it. And sometimes forcing out of our comfort zone really does help, but I just want to warn you that I'm not going to be editing my podcast in the same diligent way as I normally do. So there's going to be more 'ums' and 'ams'. There's going to be more gaps and pauses because I don't have time or the manpower or the means to be able to get it edited. I've been paralyzed from just below the neck and my fingers now been paralyzed. It takes me five times longer to do anything an able-bodied person could do. So in order for me to get the podcast out every week, I'm going to do less editing. You are warned. Comfort Zone I was talking on my live today about my daughter. My daughter, Camber, she's now 23. And she used to play this computer game called Spy Row. And she used to play this same level for months and months and months. And it wasn't even getting through the level, it was like a pre-level running around. So you would run around on these little fields and jump in this water and over this little bridge and you would choose places to go into, to do the levels. Within each one of these levels, there were things you had to do. People you had to jump on and kill and buses you had to take out. But she wouldn't go in them and I was like getting very frustrated. I was like, "No, Cam, you've got to go into these levels. You're never going to get forever. You'll end up getting power-ups and you can jump higher and you can do all these things." She is like, "No, I'm good." And I'm like, "Yeah. But we've watched you play this running around, jumping into the water and jumping out the same area for like weeks now. Please, can we see a different area?" "No, I'm good." "Aren't you bored we're playing the same thing?" "No, I'm good." And I really couldn't understand that. I really got quite frustrated and sometimes I got quite like, "Well, Camby, you're never going to get anywhere unless you actually just go through the door. Go on, just go do it now in front of me, I'll help you." And I used to be quite frustrated, which is the right word. I don't want to make it any stronger because it bothered me, but not too much. It was just, I couldn't sit there and watch her for very long. And I now realize why. It was okay understanding what she wasn't doing right or what she should be doing. I never understood why. And of course, she didn't want to aspire to get hurt. She didn't want to get hurt. She didn't want to go through the fear that feeling of somebody jumping out. Now, when she was ready, she took the step. When she was ready and confident and okay to venture out, she took the step. It wasn't my business to know when she was ready. And I want to tell you another story. Shortly after I broke my neck, I was on the spinal unit. I had just got out of bed a few weeks previously. So I'd learned to push my chair really quite badly. It was a manual wheelchair. It was an NHS one so it was a good quality because they were our permanent chairs, but it was also, they weren't lightweight. They were very much a government-issued chair and they were heavy. And because I've got no triceps in my hands that worked properly, I could not push the chair in any meaningful way. I could get the momentum to go forward, but then turning any corner or turning on the spot was incredibly difficult. To push one wheel one way or the other wheel the other way was like really hard and it must have been painful for anybody to watch us do it really slowly. Well, a group of carers or nurses came to the spinal unit for the day and me, Alan, and Jason was asked to go in and do it a small speech, a small chat. I've never done anything like this apart from when I was at school and I wasn't really in any kind of drama class. So standing out in front of anybody, it was just something I did not do apart from telling the odd joke when I was a child in the, I suppose, greenhouse when we had a barbecue with friends. But essentially this was something new and I was terrified. I can remember the hour came, counting down. "What do you want me to talk about?" I said to like the sister on the ward. "Oh just talk about what it's like to be first injured, what it's like to be, from your perspective, of breaking your neck and things like that." I was like, "Yeah, but I don't know. I don't know." But in the end, I said, "I'll do it. I'll brave it. I'll do it." And I would never have done it unless I had two people with me. So it came to the time and we pushed our wheelchairs up there. The door opened and I was the third in the row. And pushing us out, it must have been an absolute comedy if it wasn't so painful for us all; completely straight face, completely serious. Jason goes in first. Now Jason, his arms were longer than his body, I swear, and they used to wave in every direction. If there was ever an orangutan in a wheelchair that was him. And then there was Alan. Alan was very serious, very subdued. And then there was me. I don't know what I was, I have no idea. I could see what they were, but I couldn't see what I was. And Jason pushed himself in first, joking, and then Alan pushed himself in, and then it was me banging myself into the back of his chair because I wanted to get in as quickly as possible, and I didn't want to be stuck out too far either. So the balance was basically crashing into the back of his chair because once I pushed forward, I couldn't stop. And I went in there and I'm asked to turn around on the really low shag pile carpet. And I'm asked to turn up and face, it was about 30 people. And I spoke about the dangers of diving and I was terrified. I thought it went absolutely terrible. I was sweating. I was nervous. Every word I said, I swear I stuttered because I used to have a terrible stutter. And then I left. And I was down on the ward, about 10 minutes later, I don't know, a couple of hours later, I have no idea, really, one of the nurses came down and said, "Oh, they would like a word with you." I was like, "Who?" "Oh, one of the people in the audience would like a word with you." I was like, "Oh, okay. You have to push me because it's like, where I'm at, it'll take me like 20 minutes to get there." So the nurse pushed me and we got up there and the lady looks up and says, "We would like to help you." I was like, "Why?" She says, "Well, you wanted to do some kind of campaign to stop people from breaking their necks and do some kind of warning. We'd done a whip around with some money. And we thought what you said was really powerful. We thought you were amazing." I was like, "I thought I was a bloody mess. I thought it was terrible.” It was so raw but I guess it was real. And the point of it is that there was about, I don't know, $18, which would be about 12 pounds in there and enabled me, I kinda went down with it because it was some months before when I come home but that was like 27 years ago. Getting out of your comfort zone in stages The point of getting out of your comfort zone is you don't have to do it all at once. You don't have to go and jump metaphorically. Your comfort zone, it's fine for certain situations, but you don't have to be ready. You don't have to be so perfect and ready to leave your comfort zone. You know, just like Camber, my daughter, with that game and just like me, if I'd waited years and years and years until I was the perfect speaker, I would have done no better. If Camber had waited and waited and waited, she would have done no better on the other speeds because she would not have known what she was up against. The thing is we have to grow our muscles by doing, we have to leave our comfort zone. We have to put on a different movie if we're a child. We have to stop redoing the same day again and again and again. And it's really difficult. It's not easy to do something different. And this is why in this time of lockdown, in this time of unrest, we fear discomfort. The greatest love you can give a child is comfort, security, love, and safety. We almost ask our children to stay safe, not to get out of their comfort zone. Don't do anything that's gonna hurt you and then when a child goes out and they do something that hurts them, we're like, "Why did you do that? Why did you climb on that?" So, we almost want everybody and we get taught not to go out of our comfort zone. I'm not saying run and jump. I'm not saying dive over a wall in the swimming pool as I did. I'm saying go down the road on the pushbike that you're not used to doing. I'm saying, read the book, watch the movie, learn something different. If someone's offering you an opportunity, take it and learn along the way. If you want to start up a business, you don't need to know about taxes and all the 'how to register a business', designer logo. If you want to do public speaking, you don't have to be a perfect public speaker. If you want to do Facebook Lives, if you want to start up a podcast, you don't have to have all the perfect equipment. You don't have to have the gift of the gab. You just have to start. If you want to do a podcast, just to record five minutes talking about your favorite subject. You don't have to decide your whole podcast or 120 episodes. Failure is progress The problem is we look so far down the road and we think we cannot get there so we don't bother. Getting out of your comfort zone is not about having the perfect sharpened sword. It's about knowing that you're going to learn along the way. It's about knowing that failure is okay. Failure is learning. I can list all the times where I've put out something that's just terrible. Look back at my first Lives, look back at things I was doing three or four years ago. I was where I was and jumping out of that comfort zone has given me more confidence in recording this podcast. Every podcast, I'm slightly out of my comfort zone. Every Live, I'm slightly out of my comfort zone. If I get too comfortable, then I'm not learning, I'm not growing. I know comfort feels good and I know fear feels terrible, but we should have fear, recognize the fear and go, "It's okay. I'm not going to go all the way. I'm just going to take a step, dip my toe in." So to speak. That's wisdom, dip your toe in, check the depth of the water. I'm joking about that and I'm laughing at the time only because I broke my neck in the swimming pool when I dived in. It was the deep end and it was lit up and it was full of water. There were so many rumors about my accident over the years, they are just funny: "He must've been drunk." "The pool was empty." " It was the shallow end." None of those things are true. What's true is I was a dumb ass and I was showing off; that's the truth, but that's okay. When we were younger, we haven't got a defined comfort zone so much as we have when we're older. So hopefully, my stories have helped you recognize your comfort zone, recognize the comfort zone in others. And just think today, how much do you miss out on staying in your comfort zone? Where in your life are you just staying in your comfort zone because it feels good to you? What things have you said no to that you don't believe you had the ability or capacity to learn, to be able to grow into that role? And there are many things I've said no to and knocked back. There are these people I would like to have on this podcast. There are people I would like to interview, but I don't message them just in case they say, yes. What happens if I message like Richard Rohr and say, "Come on my podcast"? He's a brilliant Franciscan priest, that would just be an amazing conversation. What would happen if I messaged him and said, "Will you come on my podcast?"? What would happen if he said, "Yes"? That would mean I'll be out of my comfort zone and I'd have to grow. And now here's the problem; I'd now have to email him and ask him, don't I? if any of you know Richard Rohr, tell him I'm trying to get out of my comfort zone and I would love for him to come on my podcast. He's a genuine, such an open-hearted, warm, loving character. He taught me so much about the true self/false self, the falling upwards, the first and second half of life. Outro: But yes, comfort zone, it's hilarious. So get out of your comfort zone, head over to stevenwebb.com, and click to have a chat with me. I don't charge, it's donation-based only. And see if I can help you if maybe you have anxiety or depression as a visitor at the moment, and you're struggling with finding inner peace in this uncertain difficult time. And I get it. There isn't any shame in feeling all those things at the moment, there's no shame in feeling them anytime. So if you focus on how you want to feel, you will inevitably do the things that make you feel that way. Who are you? Get clear on that. Because in the moments when you need to engage your power, it’s going to come from knowing deeply, who you are. It’s an unshakeable confidence that who you are, is Divine. Interview- Melissa Alvarado Sierra I got to know Melissa’s work when I read “Why I Abandoned the American Dream and Followed My Puerto Rican Dream Instead” The physical movement coincides with the emotional movement. Witnessing a suicide in San Francisco clarified what she wanted, to write and go back to PR The Coquí, if you take it outside the island, it often dies Everybody has a different journey I marry my feminist self with my Puerto-Rican self Rosario Ferré is an inspiration Women in PR is a reflection of the island of PR Machismo is a big issue My power comes from fighting against patriarchal society I was raised in, as well as the colony of Puerto Rico. PR women are colonized and brutalized too. The fight for women’s rights goes along with the fight for freedom of our island. Have to negotiate being a powerful, independent woman, with the fact that our identity is tied to a legacy of patriarchy Underground way of using power as a woman by flirting and using your body. How do I take those things that are inherently part of me, that have been used to keep me under control, for my own power? When i first got my period I was told I couldn’t go out and play with the boys anymore I screamed in protest on the page When I write about people, I remind them that every experience has different lenses, and understanding that helps to avoid minimizing others experience or voice. I fought to be a writer, so I’m happy. All the dark sides, all the struggles, I'm ok with it. It took years. I started at 25, which is late. While modeling, I did a writing internship on the side, without telling anyone. Slowly started writing and getting things published, and eventually gave up modeling to write full-time. Being far away from home gave me a freedom to work on my dreams secretly, and nurture it, and then tell people when there was something to show How do you nourish yourself? Because I move around a lot, I try to keep something stable with me I always have my books with me I try to read every day I try to write every day, even if it’s something silly, like describing a palm tree. It’s a muscle that needs to be moved every day. And it’s also my therapy I talk to myself, freely I fight for my own little 9 year old self, as my own protector As I age, I stand up for myself more I spend my energy on me first, then others Not selfish, it’s self-care Think about being pregnant with your inner child, about mothering your inner child Liberating ourselves will liberate our children, especially our daughters What was it like coming back to PR fully empowered, living the dreams and life you created for yourself? Once it’s out there and tangible, people accept it, but when you’re working on it, people don’t understand the process. I decided my life was precious, and I wasn’t going to waste it doing something I wasn’t excited about. It’s important to see ourselves represented in art, it’s how we know we matter and we have a voice What seeds do you want to plant with our audience to “Grow the Queendom?” Nurture your passion. Your voice is valuable and we need to hear it. Q&A Why are the groin and stomach the places that usually retain the most lymphatic fluid? The groin and stomach have the most lymph nodes, because we excrete the most from these areas (pee, poop, women bleed) When lymphatic fluid builds up, we feel puffy and inflamed Since the most amount of lymphatic fluid passes through these lymph nodes, when they are clogged by toxins, these areas of the body become the most lymphatically inflamed. Because. Why? Not? And as the world shakes, and Yemaya comes up form the ocean I'm left wondering Is this it? And all I can think is "Protect me, protect my family, protect this house, protect my island. Protect me, protect my family, protect this house, protect my island." And thankfully, we're protected But my brothers and sisters in the south, they're not And their entire life is gone In a second And I'm here I made it We're ok It doesn't feel right Something's off So I text back to the "mainland" Who's up? Who's awake It's 4 am And I get a smile on my face Because of someone Someone who cares For me, for my family, for this house, for this island "Protect me, protect my family, protect this house, protect my island." And we're here So the next day we gather in cars, and we get supplies And we drive down To the damage. There is no power There are lines filling up gas stations We don't know how long it's gonna take Pero somo Boricuas, pa'que tu lo sepas! We're Puerto-Rican, just so you fucking know it! And we come together And it doesn't matter if Washington or our Governor hear us We hear each other And we're together And when the earth shakes We stand up We say We're here, and you can shake all you want But we're here And we're together And we're not going anyWHERE Somos Boricuas pa'que tu lo sepas!
INTRO - How do you preach a Easter message when COVID-19 has us all confined to our homes? That was my challenge. Honestly, it went easier than I anticipated. I have to tell you a little secret. I really have no idea what the Sunday messages are supposed to be. I always have to ask God to direct my thinking.…
In today's episode of Backpacker Radio presented by The Trek, we are once again flipping the script. This episode is dedicated to all things COVID-19. We chat with a pair of experts on infectious disease and epidemiology. Dr. Amesh Adalja is an infectious disease specialist at the Johns Hopkins University Center for Health Security. And Jagdish Khubchandani is a Professor of Health Science at Ball State University with a PhD in Health Education and Epidemiology. Both of our experts share their opinion on the latest data surrounding this virus, including the million dollar question of when they think it will be safe to resume our backpacking ways. We also are joined by a pair of 2020 NOBO turned NOGO thru-hikers (and Trek contributors), one from the AT, one from the PCT, to share their experiences of how this pandemic played out from their perspectives. Taylor Frint had only been on trail for two days before making the decision to get off, while John Mecklin was a few hundred miles into his hike when shit really started hitting the fan. Also---it's worth stating here---after today's episode, we will likely drop the coronavirus subject for a while. There's plenty of information out there regarding this virus, and although we're not about to pretend like it isn't impacting everything, we're hoping to provide a venue where you can go to escape the firehose of doomsday information. The reason for today's episode is that we wanted to provide some expertise on this subject and how it pertains to backpacking along with shine a spotlight on those who made the difficult decision to hit the indefinite pause button on their hikes. In today’s episode, we discuss getting others to listen to what we have to say in a way that is truly authentic to who we are and is valuable to the listener. We emphasize the truth that you are infinitely unique, so that if you have an opinion to share, you are the only one who can do it. We break the concept of showing others the value of what you have to say into 3 parts : First, see the value in listening to yourself. The best way to do this is to really understand your strengths. Second, see the value in listening to them. Third, they will inevitably want to listen to what you have to say because you have demonstrated the value that both you and they have. -Intro: How to Handle Feedback 0:54-Getting People to Listen -- 3 Steps 3:45-The Best Way To Teach Others 21:21“This concept of trying to live my life authentically means being true and telling the truth based on the way I see it because only I can see it that way. And it’s not because my opinions are the only ones that matter, but my opinions can only be created by me. Which means that if I’ve got something to say, then it’s going to be of value to you because no one else can say it.” 5:42

In Episode Two of the series, we dive into the Cuban sanatorium experience, taking a closer look at what life was like for HIV-positive people who were forced to live there. Some residents describe the sanatoria as an idyllic sanctuary; others, as a medicalized prison. Residents were treated more humanely over time; after years of comfortable isolation, some became reluctant to rejoin society. If the sanatoria did irrevocable damage to some people with HIV, how do we weigh that against the lives they saved? And how do we weigh that against AIDS responses around the world? In this episode, we look to HIV-positive Cubans for answers. Episode Summary: (0:00-4:34) Intro: How much can we know about what goes on behind walls? How important is credibility for your business. We’ll find out later when we take a look at Credibility, the four and final C of Marketing Communication. But first, let’s meet Monique Russell an Executive Communications Coach. Sounds very prestigious doesn’t it. Well, what Monique does is help corporate professionals improve their communication skills and to date has taught over 2,000 people globally. Monique has also helped inspire parents who were stuck on how to motivate their children, which she is tremendously proud of and rightly so. But I want to get into the type of communication skill you, the listener need right now, in business and in education, especially if you are new to a business and want to make that great first impression or just simply communicate with your colleagues more effectively. Takeaways - Here are Monique’s tips for what to do when starting a new role and it’s quite extensive: - Ask questions, pay attention to what is around you, share strengths and experiences, keep on learning and understand the work culture – is it for you? Do you fit in? Did I miss anything? - You need intention and action to be noticed. Take ownership of building social relationships. Make the effort and try talking face to face rather than remotely, it can make a huge difference - And finally, the dreaded M word. Meetings. Monique gave us a few short, handy piece of advice to keep these on-track and worthwhile: - Always have an agenda - Set a timeframe - Give the meeting a purpose and have an outcome - Provide a short recap for those ongoing meetings or for any newbys that may be joining you Top Tip - The 4C's of Marketing Communication: Credibility Have you even gone to purchase something from somewhere not credible? Seen some comms, thought it looked dodgy and bought it anyway… actually don’t answer that. Whatever you get up to in your own time is your own business, it’s not for here. But if you haven’t, there is a reason for that and that’s because communications need to be credible to stand any chance of long term success. Yes, you can fool some people, but not for very long and not with any type of long term commitment from them. But how do we do this. To gain credibility you need to become credible within the mind of the customer. This can be effected by a whole host of elements – the words you use, the font type, colours, images, sounds, smells and even the people that endorse your products or services… the influencers. With all this in mind, the one thing you need to keep front and centre when making your communications credible, are your customers – what will resonate with them, what do they find credible? Answer these questions and you’ve hit the credibility mother-load… all you have to do now is be credible in your actions before, during and after purchase. Out of all the C’s of communication, this one, credibility, for me, is the one that will provide long-term success, an affiliation with your customer, turning them into advocates and it is just damn ethical to be credible! And how important is this in a business sense? Well it is one of the core components of the 4C’s of Marketing Communication, so we’ll find out later. First, let’s meet our guest, Ella Orr, who is now a freelance Social Media Manager after previously spending a career within teaching. So site down, shut up and listen! Ella started with knowing, literally nothing about social and now creates bespoke social media strategies and delivers training on all the platforms you’d expect - to small businesses, local organisations and charities. What a journey! Takeaways - Like Ella, whatever you are wanting to do… just start. You will be amazed how far you can get in next to no time. So if it is your studies, a marketing plan or learning a new skill, just freaking start! - Here are Ella’s top 5 tips for small businesses when starting out on a social journey: 1 – Learn from the best – Buffer, Hootsuite, etc. They know what they are doing and there is loads of free ‘stuff’ to help you start 2 – Training – Get to it! Learn and implement 3 – Have a strategic approach. Like everything you do, you need to know why, for who and what. It’s the same here 4 – Focus on one platform at a time 5 – Test, measure and review - simple - And finally, keep an open mind, don’t dismiss anything until you’ve tried it a least once. Top Tip – The 4C's of Marketing Communication: Competitiveness Competitiveness, some have more than others, but for a business, it is hugely important when it comes to communication. When we discuss competitiveness, what we mean is our competitive advantage against our competition, what gives you that edge? And whatever this is, it should be consistent throughout all your communications. This doesn’t mean you have to be aggressive in your approach, far from it, you just have to be different enough to stand out. This could be using the quality of product or service, pricing structure or model or even utilising differentiation and challenging the mould – Think how Uber, Apple or McDonalds uses their communications to highlight why they are different. Intro How great, wondrous are Almighty God's deeds! Seven trumpets sound, seven thunders ring out, seven bowls are poured out by Almighty God. This'll be openly shown, there can be no doubt. Verse 1 Those who now totally offer themselves up will surely be given great blessing by God; those wanting to save their lives, will lose their lives. All things are in the hands of Almighty God. You should not halt your steps anymore now. Heaven and earth undergo enormous change. There's nowhere to hide, man will bitterly wail; there is not any other choice that they face. Chorus God loves us each day, just Almighty God can save us. Whether we face misfortune or get blessings, this is entirely due to Almighty God. We humans have no say in this decision. Verse 2 Follow the work the Holy Spirit does now, and each person should be clear within themselves, not needing to be reminded by others about the steps to which His work has progressed. You should often come before Almighty God, and ask Him for everything and anything. And He will surely enlighten you within, at crucial times He will protect you greatly. Chorus God loves us each day, just Almighty God can save us. Whether we face misfortune or get blessings, this is entirely due to Almighty God. We humans have no say in this decision. Verse 3 Have no fear! He possesses your whole being. With His protection, care, what is there to fear? Now the achievement of God's will is at hand. Open your spiritual eyes, heaven'll alter. Why fear? With a gentle move of God's own hand, heaven, earth can be instantly ruined by God. And so what is the use of man's worrying? Are not all things always in the hands of God? Chorus God loves us each day, just Almighty God can save us. Whether we face misfortune or get blessings, this is entirely due to Almighty God. We humans have no say in this decision. Bridge Heaven and earth can be changed at His command. We can be made complete at His command. Do not be anxious, just move ahead calmly, pay heed and be watchful on the other hand. Be watchful quickly, 'cause God's will has been done, His project completed, His plan succeeded. All of His sons have now arrived at His throne, they judge all nations, people with Almighty God. Chorus God loves us each day, just Almighty God can save us. Whether we face misfortune or get blessings, this is entirely due to Almighty God. We humans have no say in this decision. Outro Those persecuting the church, hurting God's sons will be severely punished, that's for certain! Those who give their true heart to God, uphold all, God'll love them forever, without changing. from The Word Appears in the Flesh
Duke Basketball Corner Duke All-Decade Teams Under K (80s-90s-00s-10s-Overall) (With Joe Gaudio) 2019 Offseason, Ep. 3 When a coach has excelled throughout 40 years at the same school, creating all-decade teams becomes quite the task. Joe Gaudio and I grind out our individual choices for the 1980s, 90s, 00s, and 2010s, plus an all-time team under K. For each decade we give a 1st and 2nd team, or if easier it could be thought of as a 10-man rotation with 5 starters and 5 bench players (though if we're being honest, we all know K would never go 10-deep). For those whose career crossed over into a different decade, we go with the decade when they played more seasons, and if split evenly, we chose the decade in which the player had more success. Some of our choices coincided, some choices differed. More than anything, we gained insight into the way we view the impact of the players on some of our favorite teams, thus leading to choices that some may find surprising. After the all-decade and all-K teams, the episode finish up with each of us giving a list of our top 10 favorite Dukies (which for me is a long overdue update to an episode from 2015). We also include an all-one-and-done team. I may eventually post our choices on twitter and update this written podcast description, but I feel like it'd be more fun for a listener to not know what's coming as well as to listen to our descriptions, because as always, the how and why is just as if not more interesting to me than the what. Aodan also gives talks, plays the role of MC/Interview for events and runs events himself that align to his passion for personal development.During this interview, we cover a lot of ground and it has lots of useful and practical insights that you can use. We would be extremely grateful! iTunes is a search engine as well, and so when you rate and review us, you help others find us. Thank you! ::: Single Parent Travel and Expat Living in Australia with Kids Meet Jade. She's a Canada native who knows a few things about single parent travel and living in Australia with kids. She's visited 51 countries. Her son Jacob has been to 23 countries so far, and he's only four. He started crawling while they were in Iceland. Like many traveling families I talk to, Jade says the easiest time to travel with him so far has been when he was a baby. As he's gotten older, she says, they have slowed their travel pace and stayed in places longer. Tips for Single Parent Travel As her son has grown, Jade has switched up the way she travels. She never thought she'd enjoy cruising, but has discovered it to be a great form of single parent travel. Why? For one, it's a great way to see many destinations and yet stay in the same room. If you're living in Australia with kids, cruising can be a good option as there are many cruises to the Pacific Islands. Jade likes these destinations as well and for at least one similar (and practical) reason. They're small islands, and you usually stay in one hotel while you're there. less moving from room to room. Travel in Australia with Kids Jade has experienced expat living in Australia in three cities: Brisbane, Melbourne, and now Sydney. She has some great advice about travel in Australia with kids. For example, if you like road trips, then visiting Australia with kids is the way to go. Neighboring New Zealand is even better. If you're visiting Australia with kids, however, it helps to budget your money wisely. Whether it's single parent travel or exploring with a large family, it's not cheap visiting Australia with kids. Another thing to set low expectations for is internet and wifi availability. It may surprise yo to know that Australia's wifi networks are not that strong, and free wifi in cafes is rare. This certainly surprised me. To prepare for this, Jade recommends loading your devices with apps that work offline. Beyond Australia with Kids While half of our conversation deals with travel and living in Australia with kids, the other half deals with her insight into single parent travel and other aspects of travel that many parents can relate to. We discuss strollers and finding the right formula for lactose intolerant kids. We talked about great travel gear and the gear that we buy and never used. All this and more on this week's episode. Listen in! And please share!
