This weekend, I was in San Francisco for the Dead's 60th Anniversary celebration, where I danced with Miles Teller and learned (in real time) at a karaoke bar that "Islands in the Sun" should not be my go-to song. Then, I dealt with some Lucy nursery school drama, saw Kelly & Mark's old studio get torn down (why was I the only one crying?!), and yelled at a gal on the street (more than once) for littering.Plus, John & talk about the murder that happened at my gym, if my outdoor shower partition is TOO low, and opened the Mail Bag.For more interviews and behind-the-scenes tea, tune in to Andy Cohen Live weekdays on Radio Andy by subscribing to SiriusXM. Hello, and welcome to the inglorious return of Doomsday: History's Most Dangerous Mailbag Minisode! We've seen an awful lot of $@!# across time and space and it's only natural that you would have questions – so here is your chance hear them answered. Maybe learn something a little gross, maybe a little interesting. This is my chance to publicly answer some of the friendly, odd and occasionally gross questions that feed in through our various social media channels. I really wanted to get actual content to you ASAP after some recent tomfoolery with my health, and a Mailbag fit the bill nicely as a way to tide you over before the next full length episode. On this episode: I will answer which of the Final Destination deaths would be my personal preference and why; I'll explain if I'd rather ride out the apocalypse in an on-going Civil War or a Zombie Outbreak scenario – the answer may surprise you; and I'm going to definitively answer the question “will there be a new disaster moviesode, and if so, which one”. I'll even share my concept for a disaster screenplay so bold, the name is in all caps with an exclamation mark.I love answering your weird and bizarre questions. I wouldn't ask for them at the end of each episode if I didn't. If you're curious to hear my take on things rattling around upstairs, I'm already collecting questions for a 10th in the future so share away if you'd like to hear your thoughts expounded upon at length. Feel free to holler. From the attempt to end birthright citizenship to the gutting of congressionally authorized agencies, the Trump Administration has created an enormous number of legal controversies. The Radio Hour asked for listeners' questions about President Trump and the courts. To answer them, David Remnick speaks with two regular contributors: Ruth Marcus, who writes about legal issues and the Supreme Court, and Jeannie Suk Gersen, who teaches constitutional law at Harvard Law School. While the writers disagree on some significant questions—such as the Supreme Court's recent ruling in Trump v. CASA, which struck down the use of nationwide injunctions—both acknowledge the unprecedented nature of some of the questions from listeners. “They never taught you these things in law school, because he's pushing on areas of the law that are not normally pushed on,” Marcus tells Remnick.

Introduction. (0:00:00). We're back (for a bit!) to interrupt your summer Mailbag. (0:1:21:21). Thanks to Robert L., other personally identifying information unavailable, for the excellent "question."Applying the Rules. (0:02:31). In our first episode recorded in a real, live, professional studio, Gabe Rivin is back to apply what he taught us in the last episode. To make sure we're all on the same page, we ask him to show us how we would tell the story of Wooden v. Saban as if he were doing it in podcast form, using the rules of dramatic storytelling. Also, Sam shows off with some next-level sound design. Transparent Flattery. (0:51:47). Justin is back. He brings not only questions for Gabe, but also a stunning revelation about how he feels about (at least one) USC Trojan, all in an effort to curry favor with our guest. Surprise, it works!

They reach into the mailbag and answer some questions from the audience! Do MLB players get jury duty? What other non-baseball stadiums should host a game? How exactly should we be evaluating MLB managers? It's been nearly a year since we asked our subscribers to send us questions for a mailbag episode—which they did, with remarkable thoughtfulness and intelligence, for our 100th episode back in September 2024. A lot has happened since then (to say the least), so we wanted to once again open up the mailbag and find out what was on the minds of Know Your Enemy listeners, who sent too many excellent questions for just one episode—so, if you like what you hear, consider subscribing on Patreon to listen our next bonus episode when we'll answer even more of them.In this round of listener questions, we take up how much Trump has kept his campaign promises, our favorite bourbons, the politics of Judaism, St. Augustine and original sin, novelists (gay and straight), and more!Sources and further reading:Christopher Isherwood, The Berlin Stories (1945)— A Single Man (1964)Don Bachardy, Last Drawings of Christopher Isherwood (1990)Edmund White, City Boy: My Life in New York During the 1960s and '70s (2009)— A Boy's Own Story (1982)— The Beautiful Room is Empty (1988)— The Farewell Symphony (1997)— The Married Man (2000)Walker Percy, Love in the Ruins (1971)— Lost in the Cosmos: The Last Self-Help Book (1983)Henri du Lubac, Catholicism: Christ and the Common Destiny of Man (1962)Thomas Merton, New Seeds of Contemplation (1949)— Conjectures of a Guilty Bystander (1968)Sam Adler-Bell, "The Father of All Secrets," The Baffler, Dec 2022. — "The Essential John le Carré," NYTimes, Jul 12, 2023.Henry Roth, Call It Sleep, (1930)Javier Marías, A Heart So White, (1995)Helen DeWitt, The Last Samurai, (2000)Percival Everett, Erasure, (2001)...and don't forget to subscribe to Know Your Enemy on Patreon to listen to all of our bonus episodes!
In today's episode of Backpacker Radio presented by The Trek, brought to you by LMNT, we are joined by Nathan Wright, known on trail as Switchback. Nathan is an ambassador for the Pinhoti Trail and Alabama trails more broadly, wearing almost too many hats to count. He is the co-founder of the Pinhoti Outdoor Center - a hostel he runs with his wife, President of the Alabama Hiking Trail Society, Vice President of the Alabama Pinhoti Trail Association, Chairman of the Board of the Pinhoti Experience Foundation, and serves on the Advisory Board of the Alabama Trails Commission. In this conversation, we go deep on everything to do with the Pinhoti Trail and Nathan's many roles in supporting it. We cover the best time of year to hike it, what to expect in terms of wildlife, resupply, water, and logistics, as well as the standout physical features of the trail. Nathan also shares why the trail's surrounding community makes it so special, the can't-miss town stops and restaurants, and why he believes it's the best off-season thru-hike in the US. We wrap the show with a FREE STUFF alert for 2025 PCT Thru-Hikers, how to get college credit for thru-hiking the AT, how our lives would be totally different if our first names were spelled differently, the triple crown of thru-hiker fads, a shortest day of the year of the week, and a listener shares some intel on Texas' most underrated trail.
