This week's episode of Squeezon 2 (shoutout to Boy Tay for that pun) features two highly requested guests who also happen to be family; Makena Moore (formerly Lautner) and her husband Jacob Moore! We've heard the story of how Tay & Taylor came to be from their own perspective, but what does their matchmaker Makena recall from the early days of their relationship? And, what made her believe her new friend Tay would be a potential match for her brother? She's answering these questions and sharing what went down behind the scenes. While Makena and Taylor clearly have a close sibling bond, that doesn't mean that Taylor's fame was easy to navigate for his younger sister. Makena opens up about the not-so-shiny parts of having a famous brother and how his success has affected her own identity. Jake and Makena also open up about their very own love story and their baby boy Breckon who has forever altered their lives (and their aunt and uncle's lives!). Parenthood changes things (to say the least), and Makena and Jake open up about Makena's postpartum depression and why she's decided to change the way mamas look for answers to their many questions. There are plenty of laughs and also some tears as these four let the Lemon Drops into the intimate inner workings of their family. Tyler Jacob Moore is currently on the Hallmark original show, Ride (also available on Peacock), but you might recognize him shows like GCB, Shameless, or Barry. According to Hallmark, "Ride is a multigenerational family ensemble following the lives of the McMurrays, part of a rodeo dynasty going back a generation, as they struggle to keep their beloved ranch afloat. After a tragic loss, each character embarks on an empowering journey of transformation and self-discovery while also uncovering a twisted web of secrets, threatening to tear the family and their small Colorado town apart at the seams. Starring Nancy Travis, Tiera Skovbye, Beau Mirchoff, Sara Garcia, Jake Foy and Tyler Jacob Moore." It's a great show, so go check it out. He was fun to chat with and so kind. GCB is how I came to know who he was, which you should find this show and watch it, from his portrayal of Pastor John Tudor. I like adding the liquid in first so you can combine them before topping with the mineral water. Add ice to the glass and fill to the top. Top with Topo Chico and add slice of lime for garnish. Berry Bourbon Lemonade (https://www.crowdedkitchen.com/berry-bourbon-lemonade-pitcher-cocktail/): Ingredients Bourbon Lemon Juice, about 12-14 large lemons Chambord or another Raspberry Liqueur Blackberries and Raspberries (fresh or frozen) Agave nectar (you could also sub with simple syrup) Water Sparkling water or club soda (berry-flavored sparkling water or plain club soda) Mint leaves and fresh berries Directions Heat the water and agave in a saucepan over medium heat. The idea for this cocktail is to make a berry syrup with the blackberries and raspberries. Add the berries and bring to a boil. Stir well and turn off the heat. Let the mixture sit for 20-25 minutes, then strain through a fine mesh sieve. Use a spoon to press as much juice out of the berries as possible. Add the bourbon, lemon juice, Chambord and berry agave mixture to a large pitcher. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours. Add sparkling water/club soda just before serving! You can either add it straight to the pitcher, or top off each individual drink. Optional: garnish with fresh berries and mint. Think about the qualities of a thriving business culture. What comes to mind? You might consider efficiency, cooperation, skilled employees, and profits, but Jacob Moore's next guest, Bryan Trilli, tells us that another trait should be at the top of your list: love. Rather than seeing love as a rosy and fanciful ideal, Bryan clearly defines this strategic concept and shows how to practically apply love to your workplace environment. What you'll learn from this episode:What love actually meansHow love in the workplace boosts productivityBoundary setting for yourself and your business cultureSubstantial research shows that love in the workplace boosts employee morale, which leads to better productivity and a thriving culture. Entwining his years of experience with hours of research, Bryan Trilli brings us the latest strategy in helping you love where you work. Bryan Trilli has bought or started 6 different businesses in 5 different industries in 4 different states from a brick-and-mortar service business to the #1 online company for computer vision training in the world. After running a successful lead-gen agency, Optimized Marketing, Bryan decided that if his team truly is great at marketing, they should cut out the middle-man and buy and build companies they control. That adventure led him to build worldwide remote teams which required an obsessive focus on culture - and love."If you really love somebody, what does that mean? The definition that I work off of is to will the good of another. Another word that's often used is charity. What's charity? That would mean doing something good without expectation of return. And that's essentially the same thing. That's how I would understand love." - Bryan TrilliTIMESTAMPS[01:10] - What makes a good leader?[03:25] - How love is a factor in good leadership[11:20] - The principle of "you get the people you deserve"[14:50] - Setting up regular employee checks[19:15) - Your personal work/life balance[30:10] - Creating checks and balances for your employees[38:00] - Build a culture for your business to thriveCONNECT WITH BRYAN TRILLILinkedInCONNECT WITH JACOBJacobMoore.comInstagram - Passion & ProfitsInstagram - Jacob MooreLinkedInFacebookTikTok Learn More: 5 Bridges to Wellness and NoStigmasAbout Jacob Moore: Jacob Moore is the creator of 5 Bridges to Wellness and the founder of NoStigmas mental health support community. How do you prioritize and organize projects in a way that moves away from being reactive into a proactive and even responsive approach? In this episode, Jacob Moore and his guest, Ginger Bandeen, discuss how to utilize data in driving your mission to greater success. Data shouldn't be daunting. It's often just misunderstood. 3 key takeaways from this episode: Data is not your enemy, but on your side Data may have biases and that's not necessarily a bad thing Your mission should drive your data, not the other way around Ginger Bandeen, LCSW founded Mission Driven Data after a 15-year career in clinical social work, quality improvement, advocacy, and program development in the community behavioral health field. She is passionate about making data analysis accessible for clinicians - helping people who would say they aren't "data people" discover joy and excitement in the data analysis process. Her vision for Mission Driven Data is to be the catalyst for change in the community mental health system. We hope to kindle the curiosity and creativity of emerging leaders, and create a new vocabulary of metrics that truly measure the quality and value of community services. The data doesn't have to be perfect in order to use it....start with what you've got." - Ginger Bandeen In This Episode: [07:36] - What is the difference between the mission driving the data versus the data driving the mission? J & Z have a very special guest who needs no introduction. The one and only Jacob Moore. There is so much covered in this episode we don't know how to write a summary, but he did state he killed 120 squirrels in summer. Which seems preposterous.
