Grateful Dead fans, lovers of lyrics, and those curious about A.I.'s interpretation of art, you're in for a treat because today's episode invites you to explore human intelligence versus artificial intelligence through the analysis of the Grateful Dead song "Ripple" with Creativity Squared resident writer and philosopher, Jason Schneider. From reciting poems to thinking deeply about consciousness and art, Jason is a true modern-day Renaissance man with passions that include photography, motorcycles, poetry, music, and philosophy. A self-admitted life-long Leica maniac, Jason is also a camera collector, fine art photographer, writer, and photojournalist. He is currently writing a book with the working title “Understanding Emily Dickinson: A Reader's Guide To The Enlightened Master.” In our conversation, we discuss this piece where he compares his human analysis of this transcendent song based on the poem by Robert Hunter to ChatGPT's. Jason then put the article through ChatGPT for an opinion piece on the full article while the team did the same with NotebookLM, which gets meta quicker than a ChatGPT-prompted answer! And it wouldn't be a conversation with Jason without some Emily Dickinson either, and you won't want to miss how Jason sees the Grateful Dead and the poet's similarities. Discover why “Ripple” remains a timeless meditation on life's most profound questions, including the limitations of human consciousness itself — enjoy! This week our guest is Jason Schneider, Director, Rural Municipalities of Alberta (RMA) and Reeve of Vulcan County in Southern Alberta. The RMA is a progressive, independent association committed to meeting the diverse and changing needs of Alberta's 69 counties and municipal districts. Since 1909, the RMA has helped rural municipalities advocate for strong, effective local government. The RMA did not ask for a pause on new permits for renewables projects in Alberta; however, they do have concerns that they hope the inquiry will tackle, including the use of prime agricultural land for renewables projects and a lack of plans for reclamation and cleanup. Jason is also an elected official in Vulcan County. Vulcan County is conveniently located close to Calgary and Lethbridge in southwest Alberta. Including the towns and rural areas, the total population is about 7,000 people. The County covers an area of about 6.5 times larger than Calgary. Vulcan County currently has four renewable projects operating or under construction, approximately six approved projects, and about a dozen more in the pre-approval, early proposal stages. Here are some of the questions Jackie and Peter asked Jason: What is the scale of the renewable projects in Vulcan County? Who benefits financially from the projects? What are some of RMA's concerns with the current process for approving and permitting renewables projects? Is the building of transmission lines also a concern? What are the requirements for reclamation of the projects? If the projects are on private land, why is reclamation a concern of the municipality? Does social media and misinformation contribute to opposition to renewable projects? If so, what is the best way to communicate accurate information to citizens? What changes would you like to see from the Alberta Utilities Commission's (AUC) inquiry on the development of renewables projects? “Art expresses and distills aspects of the artist's consciousness in a durable form that remains accessible even after the artist is gone. A work of art is, therefore, in some sense, 'un essai d'immortalité' — an attempt at immortality.” -Jason Schneider Jason Schneider is a true modern-day Renaissance man with passions that include photography, motorcycles, poetry, music, and philosophy. A self-admitted life-long Leica maniac, Jason is also a camera collector, fine art photographer, writer, and photojournalist. Jason has written three books on camera collecting and an authoritative volume on woodburning stoves. He is currently writing a book with the working title “Understanding Emily Dickinson: A Reader's Guide To The Enlightened Master.” Jason has built a long and prosperous career as a photographic journalist where he's held numerous prestigious positions. He is perhaps best known as the writer and editor who created The Camera Collector column and rose through the ranks at Modern Photography magazine to become its Editorial Director. After leaving Modern, he became the Editor-in-Chief of Popular Photography, the world's largest imaging magazine, a position he held for over 15 years. Currently, Jason is a contributing writer for the Rangefinder Forum in addition to Creativity Squared. In this thought-provoking episode, Jason expands on the articles he's written for Creativity Squared exploring A.I. and the question ‘What is art?' You'll also hear Jason's perspective on human consciousness, art as representation, and the limitations of language and math. You won't want to miss why Jason is in awe of Emily Dickinson and hearing a few poems he recites, including one from his late and talented daughter Heidi. Jason also points out what's wrong with the premise of Descartes's famous statement, “I think, therefore I am” and why cell phones are the best cameras ever made! Outside, a simple sign. Inside, wow! This is the second-to-last week of Summer vacation for The Drive and California Wine Country. In 2 weeks, starting Monday August 21, The Drive returns to live radio on Wine Country Radio 95.5 FM, Mon-Fri. 3-6pm. California Wine Country will be moving to Fridays. Our first new live show of the Fall season will be Friday, August 25. This podcast episode features Jason Schneider, Bottle Barn spirits chief and also the GM, along with Lauren Patz from Redwood Empire Whiskey. Cheers! Jason Schneider, Bottle Barn Spirits chief, and Lauren Patz join Steve Jaxon, Harry Duke and Dan Berger today on California Wine Country. Lauren Patz runs Redwood Empire Whiskey and Jason is the GM of Bottle Barn, where he is also in charge of the Spirits section. He wants the shop to have all the kinds of spirits that people want in addition to wine. They have also expanded the website, even if they can only ship spirits within the state of California. Redwood Empire Whiskey is part of a larger company called Purple Brands. They make Raeburn Chardonnay and Scattered Peaks wines. The distillery was started in 2013 and whiskey started going into barrels in 2015. They started releasing in 2019. Bottled in Bond For a whiskey to be labeled “Bottled in Bond” it has to come from a single distillery, a single distilling season, has to be at least 100 proof and be aged 4 years. It was the first consumer protection act in the US. Dan Berger has brought a bottle of wine from his cellar, usually it's a well-aged wine but this is a 2019 Kite Trail Chardonnay. Generous and soft with some Carneros characteristics. He also brought a 2016 Ricardo Santos Semillon from Argentina. Click the logo to visit our sponsor Bottle Barn online for the coolest bargains on wine, beer and spirits. Wine Enthusiast magazine has named Bottle Barn one of the top wine retailers in the country. Dan Berger's Wine of the Week in his weekly article in the Napa Register is usually one that is available at Bottle Barn. Jason Schneider tells that Redwood Empire is the top selling local brand of whiskey, because of its high quality for its price. For a young distiller, the quality is very high already. Join the Rodney Strong mailing list to receive special offers, information on new releases, and more. Redwood Empire Bourbon They taste a Redwood Empire Bourbon which they say has real personality, with a good finish. Even if this is wine country, and a wine show, Sonoma County has a lot of craft beer and spirits too. The local spirit industry has flourished along with winemaking and craft beer in successive waves of new distillers. Due to the several years time required for the first bottling to be ready, most of the distilleries in Sonoma County started with vodka and gin. That way, they have product early on to sell, before the whiskey can come on line. Then they taste their Bottled in Bond Rye Whiskey. It is a four-grain rye, but also some wheat, malted barley and 3% corn, which she says, you can't taste it but you can feel it.
Children and teenagers who have a parent in jail may be more likely to have poor mental health, substance abuse issues and poor academics. Having a parent incarcerated is the second most common adversity for Minnesota youth, behind living with someone who has a mental illness. That's according to the Minnesota Student Survey. It's an anonymous, statewide survey that happens every three years. It's been going on since 1989 and current findings show that one in five teenagers in Greater Minnesota reported having at least one parent or guardian who is in jail or prison currently or in the past. Join MPR News guest host Catharine Richert as she examines efforts in our state aimed at improving the mental health of kids of incarcerated parents, including a pilot program where parents can have video visits with their families. The state also offers parenting education programs inside and outside of jail. @TerryDavidMulligan talks with Canada's punk poet laureate, Art Bergmann has been tearing up stages, and terrifying the music industry, for half a century. Often referred to as “Canada's Lou Reed,” Art's story is one of rock and roll's great tales untold. Until now. From his days helping to lay the foundation of the Vancouver punk scene with The K-Tels, to his acclaimed solo work in the '80s and '90s, and a late career resurgence that has culminated with being named to the Order of Canada, The Longest Suicide chronicles every unlikely twist and turn Art's life has taken. Working with veteran music journalist Jason Schneider, Art lays it all out in his own inimitable way, with dozens of people who took part adding their own voices to corroborate (and sometimes dispute) the often-incredible chain of events. With cameos by John Cale, Bob Rock, The Clash, Bob Geldof and many others, The Longest Suicide is both a triumphant story of personal survival, as well as a unique glimpse inside the rise of alternative rock. Above all, it is a tribute to Canada's most unheralded singer-songwriter, whose greatness is only now being widely recognized. Illustrated throughout. From the Introduction: “The story of Art Bergmann's career is perceived by many to be a succession of failures, but the story of Art's life? If Art doesn't have the best story, it is always the most magical.” — Michael Turner, author of Hard Core Logo Praise for The Longest Suicide: “ a brisk, plain-spoken and thoroughly well-researched rip through the genuinely wild, wild life of a genuinely committed rock-'n'-roller.” — The Toronto Star

In bygone days you had a closet full of board games, or you kept them on a shelf in the basement, and every now and again you'd gather folks around the table to play. And aside that one story we had about the broke dude in Atlantic City inventing the game Monopoly, until the last decade or two, there was no attention paid to the idea that somebody created those games, that experience, or the gaming environment, which is the term oft-used in our discussion today. Our guest is Jason Schneider. He is one of the creatives who has helped bring board games back to the fore. We have a great discussion about the phenomenon of gaming, the types of games, the different elements of a game and how, despite the growing presence of video games, table-top games remain the real deal. This is especially true for people wanting actual human connection, like that which is experienced playing a rambunctious party game, a strategic thinker with your nerdy friends, or a cooperative game on family game night. As the VP of Product Development at Gamewright, a game company with over 200 titles that focuses on family friendly games, Jason knows the business, and he provides a tremendous peak inside the process of creating games; from the initial idea to development to testing to marketing and finally to that game being on your dining room table. Maybe that game being played tonight in your home is one of Gamewright's super creative games, like Slamwich, Sushi Go, Super Mega Lucky Box, Gubs, Forbidden Planet , Abandon All Artichokes or any other game in Gamewright's massive, highly acclaimed catalogue. Guests: Dr. Tom Rathje and Dr. Jason Schneider both with DNA GeneticsToday's episode dives into the genetic advancements made in the swine industry and the impact those advancements have on all other parameters. Joining us to help dig into this genetics topic are Dr. Tom Rathje and Dr. Jason Schneider, both with DNA Genetics. Dr. Rathje spoke about how genetic change has accelerated in recent years due to the adoption of genomic selection, which improves the accuracy with which we identify a superior animal. You use that information to decide which animals are retained to reproduce. (8:23)Dr. Schneider mentioned that with genetic makeup changing, the nutritional needs for swine are changing as well. He said amino acids are ratioed off of lysine, and the assumption is if lysine levels are correct, you're in the ballpark. But different breeds have different feed intakes and performances in lean gain, so changes to nutrition are coming. (17:38)Dr. Rathje discussed that labor is always discussed as a big challenge in the swine industry, so we have to produce an animal that is more self-sufficient and able to produce and wean pigs on her own. The 14, 14, 21 program was designed to identify sows that have the ability to wean 14, 14lb pigs for 21 days on her own. (26:25). Dr. Schneider said the largest sustainability area we can increase is reducing mortality. If we can increase survivability through our genetic selection index, it's a huge saver in less inputs to create the same amount of product. (46:56) Dr. Rathje wrapped up by saying research is taking place that looks at the activation of a pig's immune system and looks at the genes that might turn on. Now we have to figure out how to implement the knowledge. Hosts Gregg Tilston and Karim Kanji chat with authors Jason Schneider and Michael Barclay on the 20th anniversary of their book, Have Not Been The Same. Published in autumn 2001, Have Not Been the Same became the first book to comprehensively document the rise of Canadian underground rock between the years 1985 and 1995. It was a tumultuous decade that saw the arrival of Blue Rodeo, The Tragically Hip, Sarah McLachlan, Sloan, Barenaked Ladies, Daniel Lanois, and many others who made an indelible mark not only on Canadian culture, but on the global stage as well. Have Not Been the Same tells all of their stories in rich detail through extensive first–person interviews, while at the same time capturing the spirit of Canada's homegrown music industry on the cusp of the digital age. Ten years on, the 780–page book is still regarded by critics and musicians as the definitive history of the era. To mark this milestone, the authors have updated many key areas of the book through new interviews, further illuminating the ongoing influence of this generation of artists. And with its treasure trove of rare photos intact, this revised edition of Have Not Been the Same is sure to maintain the book's status as one of the seminal works in the field of Canadian music writing, and a must–read for any Canadian music fan. Episode #894 Friday, June 18, 2021 marked five years since we lost our friend and namesake artist, Paul MacLeod. This show started as an avenue for talented artists like Paul to get some of the exposure that they so deserve. Paul was a friend and an inspiration and like a lot of people, I miss him and wish he could still be here. I put together a tribute to Paul for my other show, Fly with your Shadow, which I hope you'll check out at flywithyourshadow.com or on the streaming service of your choice. Although that one was the longest episode of the show ever, I had much more left over, and it only seemed fitting that the tribute would spill over onto the show that he gave a name to. Today we'll hear from Andy Maize of Paul's former band Skydiggers, Jason Schneider, Mark Logan of Busted Flat Records, and Lynn Jackson. They'll tell you which of Paul's songs they loved the most and which of the hundreds of cover versions that he could perform were their favourites. I've been super busy with that, so not much time to look up new music or even get through my Record Store Day purchases, so not much on the new side here, but I did find a few. The big news of the week is the imminent return of live music in Winnipeg, as The Times Change(d) High & Lonesome Club announced their outdoor summer concert series at Blue Note Park! That lineup of locals is stellar and well worth looking forward to, so I fit in as many highlights as I could today. I hope to see you there! playlist: https://wp.me/p1lizT-eq6

Paul MacLeod was a super talented singer/songwriter from Kitchener, Ontario. He built his reputation locally and regionally as a captivating solo performer who mixed great original songs alongside a vast and diverse repertoire of covers. He was first introduced to many of us nationally and internationally when he joined legendary, long-standing roots-rock band Skydiggers in the mid-90s. He had the difficult task of replacing founding and high-profile and much-loved member Peter Cash in the band, but he did so admirably, more than holding his own alongside the accomplished band. He brought a new edge, his acclaimed skill on the guitar, and powerful vocals. He would often open for the band, then join them for the headlining set. In addition to two Skydiggers studio albums and one live release, Paul released a great rock album with a band called Hibakusha, and four albums of his own. I took the name of his first CD for my campus and community radio show, Tell the Band to Go Home, which debuted in September, 2002. Paul was a guest on the show, and I got to know him a bit at shows and occasional correspondence. His music, wit, and energy inspired and amazed me. His albums are among my very favourites. Five years ago today, June 18, 2016, Paul took his own life. I was devastated. His music has been a mainstay on my radio show for almost 19 years. Along with John Bottomley, who I talked a lot about in episode 2 and episode 3 of this show, Paul's struggles and death contributed to my desire to further conversations about mental illness, and motivated me to create this show. I wanted to talk to some of his closest friends and get them to tell stories and remember Paul for the brilliant, creative, hilarious individual that he was. I wanted it to be honest and paint the full picture of what it was like to know Paul. It was a treat to speak to others who loved him and who miss him like I do. You'll hear more memories from my guests, and their favourite Paul MacLeod songs, and some of the songs that he covered, on the June 20 episode of Tell the Band to Go Home. Guests: Lynn Jackson - Kitchener singer/songwriter and close friend of Paul's. Find out more about her and find her music at https://lynnjackson.net/ Mark Logan - owner of Encore Records in Kitchener and of Busted Flat Records, the label that released Paul's last two albums, Bright Eyes Fade and Gauge. Mark was instrumental in Paul's career, as well as the careers of Shannon Lyon, Brock Zeman, Matt Andersen, and many more. He's an unsung hero of the Canadian music industry. Jason Schneider - these days, an in-demand publicist through his busy public relations agency, Jason Schneider Media, but a longtime music journalist and an accomplished author and musician. He was one of three musicians responsible for one of my favourite books of all time, and one that I refer to often, Have Not Been The Same: The CanRock Renaissance 1985-1995. Andy Maize - founding member and lead singer of Skydiggers, one of the most popular, accomplished, and longest-lasting bands in Canada. Their friends, colleagues, and contemporaries include Blue Rodeo, The Tragically Hip, and episode 16 guest Suzie Ungerleider. music credits and more info: https://flywithyourshadow.com/tribute-to-paul-macleod-w-andy-maize-skydiggers-jason-schneider-mark-logan-and-lynn-jackson-episode-17

Jason Schneider, the reeve of Vulcan County, joins The Morning News.
Visit thorbullets.com/nmlra for your chance to win a pack of premium THOR Bullets. This week we're talking with Jason Schneider, owner of Rice Barrel Company. Rice barrels has been known in the muzzleloading world for fine barrels for many years now, and with interest in muzzleloading growing, we wanted to sit down with Jason and learn more about how the record setting Rice Barrels are made. Jason had a background in machining well before he picked up his first muzzleloader. While at work on day, Jason asked a couple of his coworkers about what they used to hunt with and muzzleloaders quickly came up as a topic of interest for them all. Wanting to know more, Jason was pushed to talk to the Rice brothers about getting started in muzzleloading. At the time, Rice Barrel company was a small side business for the Rice brothers and neither Jason or the Rice brothers knew what the future would hold for all of them. Jason quickly fell in love with muzzleloading after getting started with hunting season. At the time, he joined two local clubs and began traveling with them to matches across the Carolinas, Tennessee, and even to the NMLRA Nationals in Friendship, Indiana. Though he had experience in competitive shooting from his time as a highpower 1000 yard bench rest shooter, the challenge of muzzleloading sucked him in. Jason's interest in hunting pulled him west, where he guided hunters in search of big game in the mountains. After the last hunt of the season, Jason's first call east was to the Rice Barrel Company, where he hoped he could secure a job to help pay the bills, Rice obliged and offered him some part time work in the shop helping with barrel production. Over time, Jason moved up the ranks in the company and began to oversee production. When the Rice brothers began discussing retirement in the early 2000s, Jason stepped in and purchased the company he had fallen in love with many years before. Jason has now been running Rice Barrels for over 10 years now. The quality of Rice Barrels remains the same, but some of the technology has changed. Jason invested in several CNC machines to make the production of a variety of new barrel profiles easier, they no longer had to hand develop a pattern or master for each barrel. Expanding on this, Jason developed a set of CNC rifling machines, adding even more precision machining to the well known barrels. Over the course of the interview Jason and I cover a variety of topics, from muzzleloading to competitive shooting, hunting to plinking. It was great to sit down with Jason, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Managing Stress and Anxiety While Selling Your Home “Selling a home can be very stressful and produce a lot of anxiety.” — Nina Hermann The easiest way to overwhelm yourself is to think of all the things you need to do at the same time. It doesn’t help. When people overwhelm themselves, it pushes them into a reflective state as opposed to taking action state. When you put a lot of things on your plate, then it will even push you into an inactive state where nothing gets done. It can be paralyzing when you think about all those lists. In this week's episode, Nina Hermann welcomes Jason Schneider as her special guest as they talk about managing stress and anxiety while selling your home. Part One of ‘Managing Stress and Anxiety While Selling Your Home’ Jason Schneider is the current president of the Institute of Neuro-Semantics USA. He has been in the business of coaching and training people to develop themselves personally and professionally using the technologies of NLP & coaching full time since 2010. Through his content, coaching, training, mentoring, and consulting, he aims to empower every student to experience more fulfillment in their own lives, and to live more congruently and authentically. “You perceive the universe through a state of mind.” — Nina Hermann The way you communicate reflects your behavior. Whatever state that you're in is going to determine how you interact and what other people pick up. In return, the recipient will filter your message based on whatever state that person is into. So, if someone's in a closed-off state, it doesn't matter what you're going to tell them. Your messages are not going to get you the best of your potential. The first step before you can get in that state is to manage your feelings. Think about the activity that you can give your best to. Maybe you want to be focused. Perhaps you want to be more energized or more relaxed. Maybe you want to have peace, be appreciative, or be of service to somebody. Sometimes are afraid about a meeting that's going to be coming up tomorrow. then. We get upset at ourselves. The state that we bring can determine whether we get ourselves into these downward spirals. On the other hand, we also have the option to bring ourselves into powerful and transcendent states that allow us to be excited about our conversations. Here’s the reality of the situation. A lot of times, things aren’t going to go exactly as you planned. One of the best things that you can practice is acceptance. Accept that you're upset. That you're frustrated. When you use acceptance, it doesn't matter how deep you are into a negative spiral. Whatever emotion that you put on top of the pile will always influence and govern everything below, just like how a CEO oversees everything below it in the hierarchy. Part Two of ‘Managing Stress and Anxiety While Selling Your Home’ Negotiation. It can be the most stressful and anxiety-producing part of the selling process. You get an offer. You’re offended that it's too low. You feel taken advantage of. “Difficult negotiations are stressful.” — Nina Hermann (12:25-12:29) A good negotiation always starts with a no. It's better to start with no. Then, work your way to a yes. It lets you make clear what you don't want. It establishes what is acceptable and what is unacceptable. If someone throws a low number, it's not about you. If anything, it's more about them. There are many reasons why someone would do that. It's information that you can't learn from and then kind of roll it over into the next round of the negotiation, the next round of discussion. So, taking things personally is not going to help. When we start to get anxious or frustrated by ourselves and the world, we tend to lose access to our resourcefulness. We tend to lose access to our resources that allow us to perform at our best. Practice being centered. That will be useful throughout that process. Especially in the process of selling your home. How To Connect The Vibrant Living Group helps make real estate easy. We understand that it can be challenging and stressful to buy, sell, or invest in real estate. Our goal is to minimize your stress. To make the experience easy and satisfying. We first listen. Barry Herbst from Bottle Barn joins Steve Jaxon today on California Wine Country. Dan Berger is away this week. Jason Schneider, spirits manager at Bottle Barn, is also in. Our guests are Michelle Rahm and Annie Barber from Coffey Strong and also Guy Davis from Davis Family Vineyards. Coffey Strong is an organization of people in Coffey Park, in Sonoma County, dedicated to helping others to recover from this year’s fires. To raise money for public projects, they have bottled a special red wine called the Barn Raiser. Guy Davis from Davis Family Wines is in. He make the red blend, 75% Zin, 15% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot. They have sold over 100 cases. After they finish this run they will bottle another one early next year. Guy Davis tells about Davis Family Wines. Their family lives on their vineyard property and he and his two sons do everything “from vine to bottle.” He is proud of that and even prouder that some of their work can benefit others. They are located on Front Street in Healdsburg, in front of the Russian River, as you cross the Memorial Bridge coming into town. They have a bocce court with a view of the river and a big organic garden. The 2017 Red blend Barn Raiser is available at Bottle Barn. It sells for $14.99. The intent was really to be a community wine to benefit the community and they did it with help from a lot of local friends including Guy Fieri who contributed some high-elevation Zinfandel grapes at cost. Its tag line is “A community wine supported by the wine community. They also taste a Chardonnay that Barry Herbst says has been the number one seller from Harvest Fair. It won best of class for the under-$20 category, selling for $10. Davis Family Wines makes about a dozen wines. They grow 4 varieties on their property. They make about 6000 cases total. Guy Davis worked in a French restaurant while a college student, which is where he learned about food and wine. His original degree was in economics. He started a small company that sold wine from small producers to direct to consumers. Then he took courses in viticulture and enology at UC Davis. Asked what spirits are hot at Bottle Barn this season, Jason says that bourbon is hot and so are spirits from local distillers like Redwood Empire, Lost Republic and Sonoma Distilling.

The birth of a child is one of life's greatest experiences; the emotional and lasting impact has consequences that will last a lifetime and beyond. When that birth becomes compromised with a life-threatening birth defect, your world is immediately forced into a tailspin of unimaginable emotions. This is a story of two lives on two different paths that would come together with a shared goal and vision of helping countless families not just survive, but thrive in some of the most challenging circumstances. They met under the most unusual circumstances while attending a National Congenital Heart Defects fundraising event in the fall of 2015, a meeting that would change their world forever. The first path, Leslee and Jason Schneider, their daughter Lexi was born with a rare heart condition; Hypoplastic left heart syndrome. Without surgery soon after birth, the condition would be fatal. They were given three options: abort the baby, let it develop within its natural life span or take surgical measures to address the defect. They chose to fight for the survival of their daughter. It would be a journey of hope, persistence and faith that would test them like never before. The other path, Brittany and Brady Griffith had just minutes as they rushed into the operating room to hold their newborn son Liam. He was born with Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA), Double Outlet Right Ventricle (DORV), Ventricular septal defect (VSD) and Pulmonary Stenosis. 21 hours old after enduring open heart surgery, Liam's life was cut short. Brittany explains the driving principle of Romans 5:3-5 changed everything for her. "We rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us." Their story continues on the Brink of Greatness Podcast… The Next Leap Forward Life has a way of connecting like-minded people with a common goal. As you will discover, the work that Leslee and Brittany and their families are doing is remarkable. They have turned their tragedy into their life’s purpose. The Lexiam Heart Foundation was founded in February 2018, to encourage and help other families affected by Congenital Heart Defects (CHDs). Their goal is to comfort and provide support to children and their families that have been impacted by CHDs.
