A strange, and very loud generator-like sound is resonating from the SUNY Buffalo's south campus late in the evening as some people were getting ready to go to sleep. The sound is coming from a construction site at the center of the campus and was vibrating loudly at 9:11 p.m. (Yes, it was 9:11!) But... no one seems to notice or care. Wouldn't a sound that loud violate city ordinances? Perhaps it would if people were paying close enough attention to what is being done to their environment to care enough to make a complaint. But who needs to live in a pleasant environment? After all, we have our screens to keep us occupied, right? Let's just sit back and let the Powers That Be (the PTB) destroy the world around us. Who cares? Should we care about anything? Naw, it's too painful to care. Let's pretend nothing's wrong. All I need to think about is me--Number Uno! We need not notice what is happening to our environment. We need not look at people and notice how dead their eyes have become. We don't need to start a conversation, lest we are labeled as startlingly friendly, noticeably unique in our viewpoints, or, worse, as "conspiracy theorists." Do we humans need each other? Perhaps not. Now that many of us are autistic, we might relish in the social distancing, dance as we've been programmed to dance, love in the way only a robot can "love." Everything's okay. Nothing to see here. Just turn on your "smart" phone and stare at it. There. That feels good, doesn't it? No need to bother worrying about what is happening in the world around you when you have a screen to keep you tired, lonely, and distracted. Before you know it, your life will be over, and you won't even notice when it's over. No, you won't remember a thing. Ah, but take a look at that screen! Isn't that interesting! And if you still have any questions or concerns, just Google it. You'll find all your answers there. There's no need to read, write or learn anything. The Internet has all the answers. Just ask Alexa. She knows. And if you disagree with her/it, then ask Siri for a second opinion. If you still disagree, then there is something very wrong with you. Why can't you be like everyone else? Also Is democracy "mob rule"? If so, then what type of system would prevent the majority of people from having a voice in their government? Is shutting down the voice of the people a good thing? Can we ever have a system that goes against the will of the majority without it being a tyrannical system? Which would you prefer--a government run by and for the majority of people or a government run by and for a minority of people? Hint: the latter is the system under which we are currently living. The only way that a minority of people can take control over the majority is through force and/or manipulation. Now, we are seeing both of those efforts taking place. Many people were forced to take injections in order to work, to travel, to live their lives comfortably. Others were essentially brainwashed. They believe that the Powers That Be (the PTB) are looking out for their interests. Even those who were injured by the injections continue to promote them. Preoccupied with their own self interests or just too brainwashed to see outside of the matrix, such people will continue to support the so-called Covid "vaccination" program, even while they are dying from myocarditis or a fast-moving cancer caused by the injections they so slavishly imbibed. Like alcoholics who defend their choice to drink, even while they've lost their jobs, homes, relationships, and sometimes their lives, some injection takers won't see the truth even when it is slapping them in the face or (sadly) in the heart. By the way, that was the late Leo Buscaglia speaking at the end of the podcast. At the beginning of the podcast, we heard from Mel Brooks ("History of the World, Part 1"), Mike Myers (Austin Powers), the late George Carlin, and Klaus Schrubb (aspiring dictator). #BigPharma #BigTech #5G #soundfrequencies --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/occupyyourmind/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/occupyyourmind/support

Kencan Dengan Tuhan - Minggu, 26 Maret 2023 Bacaan: "Jagalah dirimu! Amin. (Dod).
One World in a New World with Mac McGregor - Author, World Champion, The Gender Sensei This is an apocalyptic chat you'll love! Mac is a world champion martial artist who promotes the value of diversity, a transformation from growing up in the Bible Belt of the U.S. as a female. He's got a great sense of humor, too. You'll find the conversation insightful, warm and vulnerable. He speaks of the tendency to put people in boxes; just never seemed to fit. He saw early how the 'God is love' had a big 'but' after it, especially for the lbtqia community. His work, through Positive Masculinity, reflects an inspired evo-leap in behavior in others toward diversity and inclusion. Mac's story is circuitous and complementary, weaving through constrictive belief systems, with insatiable curiosity and many trips to the principal's office in parochial school. He shares realizations along the way from his continued curiosity and desire for making sense. His two questions, from very young, were, 'What am I here?,' and, 'What is my purpose?' What are yours? Are you having challenges with identity? Nonbinary and transgender identity may be a choice for you. Our conversation is a jovial dive into the follies and foibles of being stuck in old paradigms. He notes at 16, reading Leo Buscaglia, Course in Miracles and Elizabeth Kubler-Ross nurtured his inquiry. Zen shares his introduction to an inner voice at 4. Mac opens up and shares an early Out-of-Body Experience that you'll find insightful. The next occurred during a competition, after over a dozen matches in one day. His description and the conversation that evolves speaks to the understanding and use of energy. His shares how he demonstrated 'combat chi' on Ripley's Believe It or Not. The sharing of his feats is mind-blowing. You'll be fascinated at the first-hand account of what is possible. Zen moves the needle a bit more sharing a story about bi-location, which prompts Mac to acknowledge the deep responsibility for the use of energy and sacredness of it. A brief discussion of the Live and Let Live Movement moves Mac to sharing that we shouldn't be threatened by others if we are secure in who we are. His journey and understanding of diversity is way beyond the norm. It's quite moving. Speaking of moving, Mac shares a life-changing experience he has in his 30s. It's about caring for a mentally ill mother for most of his life, being the oldest of five children. The former self was also in transition to the present self, and the need for advocacy for diversity and inclusion. It's heart-wrenching and transcendent, too. The conversation continues with a wonderful flow of diving deep and making sense. Many are faced with challenging body identity and the misunderstandings of others. We're all just people, after all. Welcome to the Keeping it Real podcast. Today's podcast is recorded on November 13th, 2022, World Kindness Day! World Kindness Day is an international holiday that was formed in 1998, to promote kindness throughout the world. There is no better way to connect with others and ourselves than by doing small acts of kindness. In fact, everyone can practice kindness without any cost or money, or even effort! I think Leo Buscaglia said it best: "Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.” ~Leo Buscaglia~ A compassionate tomorrow begins with us today...
Ever wonder what happens to us when that inevitable time comes and we are no longer here? How would you handle it? would you have any regrets? or Would you go with dignity? Leo Buscaglia returns to the show to talk about living a life worth living so when you go you can do so unafraid. The Friday Newsletter | Daily Gardener Community Historical Events 1621 Birth of Andrew Marvell, English poet and politician. He was a friend of John Milton. In addition to writing The Garden - one of the most famous English poems of the seventeenth century - he wrote this little garden verse: I have a garden of my own But so with Roses overgrown And Lilies, that you would it guess To be a little wilderness. 1824 Birth of Dietrich Brandis, German forester and botanist. He's remembered as the Father of Forestry in India, the Father of Modern Forest Management, and the Father of Tropical Forestry. Concerned about the unregulated destruction of the forests in India, the British wanted people in India to help manage and protect the trees. In 1856, Dietrich left his botany professorship in Bonn (where his father had been a professor) for a civil service position managing the teak forests in Burma. Eight years later, Dietrich was in charge of all the forests in India. In Carl Alwin Schenck's Birth of Forestry in America, there's a fascinating story about how Deitrich inventoried the Teak trees in the forest. [He rode] an elephant, on such trails as there were, with four sticks in his left hand and a pocketknife in his right. Whenever he saw in the bamboo thickets a teak tree within two hundred feet of his trail, he cut a notch in stick number 1, 2, 3, or 4, denoting the diameter of the tree. It was impossible for European hands, dripping with moisture, to carry a notebook. At the end of the day, after traveling some twenty miles, Brandis had collected forest stand data for a sample plot four hundred feet wide and twenty miles long, containing some nineteen hundred acres. He continued his cruise for a number of months, sick with malaria in a hellish climate. Moreover, he underwent a trepanning operation (brian surgery), and for the rest of his life, he carried a small hole filled with white cotton in the front of his skull. But he emerged from the cruise with the knowledge needed for his great enterprise. Dietrich established modern "sustainable" agroforestry principles that are still followed today. For two decades, Dietrich measured, itemized, and chronicled the forests of India. He started forest management schools and created training protocols for his employees. In 1878, Deitrich founded the Forest Research Institute in the Doon Valley in Dehradun. Styled in Greco Roman architecture, the building is beautiful and is the largest purely brick structure in the world. Sir Joseph Hooker recognized Deitrich's work and named the flowering-plant genus Brandisia in his honor. 1848 Birth of William Waldorf Astor, American-British attorney, politician, businessman (hotels and newspapers), and philanthropist. In 1891, a tall, shy William Waldorf Astor moved to Britain after declaring that "America is not a fit place for a gentleman to live." After over a decade living in England, William bought a run-down double-moated Hever Castle, which was Anne Boleyn's family home four hundred years earlier. Between 1904 and 1908, William oversaw the installation of the extensive gardens designed by Frank Pearson to surround the castle. William diverted water from a nearby river to make a 35-acre lake to make his vision a reality. It is said that eight hundred men hand-dug and stomped on the clay soil to make the bottom of the lake. Mature trees were harvested from Ashdown Forest and transplanted at Hever. Two mazes were installed. Topiary chessmen were pruned for the chess garden. Thousands of roses were brought in for the rose garden. But, the most impressive Garden at Hever was and is the Italian Garden, which features colonnades, classical sculptures, antiquities dating back to Roman times, and a loggia. There's also a long pergola on one end that features cool dripping fountains the entire length. Even today, it's staggering to think the whole project was completed in four short years. 1924 Birth of Leo Buscaglia, American author, motivational speaker, and professor in the Department of Special Education at the University of Southern California. Leo believed education should be the process of helping everyone to discover his uniqueness. Leo learned to Garden from his father, and he once wrote, To this day I cannot see a bright daffodil, a proud gladiola, or a smooth eggplant without thinking of Papa. Like his plants and trees, I grew up as a part of his garden. Leo was a self-help guru who preached love so much that he became known as "Dr. Love." He once wrote, A single rose can be my garden; a single friend, my world. He also wrote, There are many miracles in the world to be celebrated and, for me, garlic is the most deserving. Grow That Garden Library™ Book Recommendation Passions by Carolyne Roehm This book came out in 2021 at the end of the year in December, and this is actually a collection of three books. All three books feature Carolyn's passions: flowers and gardens, feminine touch (which is all about how Carolyn loves to decorate), and furry friends, which of course, shares Carolyn's love of animals, especially her pups. I have to say that I love the book sleeve for these books slip into because the artwork is reminiscent of Maria Sibylla Merian. Carolyn writes, I hope that this little trio of books about the joy that I found in flowers and gardening, feminine allure and feminine style and the love of furry friends delights and inspires you as it has me. When I think about this book set, I think about it like a gift - a little book set to gift - so if you're looking for something special for yourself or a friend, this little set of books should be at the top of your list. The photography in all of these little books is absolutely stunning; it's all Carolyn Roehm. If you're a Carolyn Roehm fan, if you love her home in Connecticut or if you've watched any of her styling videos on YouTube, then you will immediately recognize the deeply saturated hues and the stunning compositions that she puts together with flowers and exquisite objects in her home. The balance of color, form, and architecture - all the incredible details that she pulls together - is just drop-dead gorgeous. This book is 240 pages of Carolyn Rome's passions - her favorite things - flowers and gardens, feminine allure and design, and furry friends. You can get a copy of Passions by Carolyne Roehm and support the show using the Amazon link in today's show notes for around $34. Botanic Spark 1962 On this day, a landscape worker hit a line connecting President Kennedy's White House to the Strategic Arms Command, the line vital to launching a nuclear attack. The project was led by Bunny Mellon, who was in charge of designing a new rose garden outside the President's office. Robert Kennedy once reflected on Bunny in the Garden, saying, Often during cabinet meetings, we would see her out there in the rose garden – a little figure with a bandana on her head. One of Bunny's first tasks was to find a gardener to implement her designs. She selected a man named Irvin Williams, who was a government gardener at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens. After Bunny brought him to the White House, he would stay on as the head gardener for almost fifty years. In early talks for the rose garden redesign, the Park Department voiced concerns about hitting underground lines. Bunny's plan called for large magnolia trees, which after some debate, were eventually ordered. But on this day, the underground line was cut during ground preparation. Bunny recalled that the problem was handled calmly and that she was never reprimanded. Bunny found the perfect magnolia trees for the White House over by the Tidal Basin overlooking the Jefferson Memorial. Once again, the Parks Department said "no" (due to costs). But Irvin Williams supported Bunny's idea, and he made arrangements to have the trees brought to the White House. The roses included a yellow rose from the state of Texas called the Speaker Sam rose in honor of the late speaker of the House Sam Rayburn, a bright red variety from the World's Fair, a white rose name Frau Karl Druschki, and pink Doctor roses. Twenty-four days after the underground line was hit, the Garden, complete with magnolia trees and roses, was unveiled to the public. The updated rose garden was an instant success. The artist and friend of the Kennedys, William Walton, later wrote, [President Kennedy's] pleasure in that garden was infinite. Thanks for listening to The Daily Gardener And remember: For a happy, healthy life, Garden every day.

Richard Brendan shares the annual replay of his conversation with his favorite teacher, Leo Buscaglia, Ph.D.
Why is it that we push ourselves so hard that we actually become unkind to each other, our kids, and ourselves? This past week certainly brought me to that point—but I also learned a thing or two along the way. Join me as I share my lessons learned about stress, expectations, and the importance of always showing love. We also hear from former author, motivational speaker and USC professor, Leo Buscaglia, known as “Dr. Love.” He reminds us that we are all connected, and that love is only an idea unless you act upon it. SHOW HIGHLIGHTS: 2:30 - Shoutout to JLee's brother-in-law, Eugene! 5:00 - Tim is on yet another vacation with his wife and family to Hawaii! Tim recommends Living, Loving, and Learning by Leo Buscaglia. 13:00 - Lots of great book recs this episode! KD recommends fiction writer Douglas Copeland 14:20 - Tim recently wrote a blog post asking “what if we let our normal employees make a hire?”. This would involve almost none of the normal application process; no interview, no resumes, no filler. 17:00 - KD says that to an extent, companies already do this with the adage “everyone's a recruiter”. 19:45 - Tim thinks that small orgs can test this hiring practice and do it on a much smaller scale rather than a huge scale at a major corporation. 23:45 - JLee tells a story about her first interview at Marriott. JLee wasn't a typical hire since she didn't come from a huge brand and a prestigious university. 26:00 - Tim says you have to be careful on who you hand this hiring responsibility too but notes that some companies that are struggling to find employees have nothing to lose. 27:00 - Tim's son and podcast producer, Cam, just recently accepted a new job offer. He asked Tim if he should negotiate his job offer and Tim said of course. Tim was super nervous that as soon as he negotiated, that his offer would get pulled. 31:30 - KD asks JLee about how many managers would step away from an offer if someone tried to negotiate with them. JLee thinks less than 10%. ---------------Jessica Lee, Kris Dunn and Tim Sackett Kinetix HRU Tech Jessica Lee on LinkedIn Tim Sackett on Linkedin Kris Dunn on LinkedIn The Tim Sackett Project The HR Capitalist Fistful of Talent Boss Leadership Training Series

Life comes in packages, or so it seems. Love comes with hate. Light with dark. Joy with sorrow. Gain with loss. Friendship with animosity. Connection with disconnection. Expansion with contraction. Success with failure. Advance with decline. Forward with retreat. Growth with Decay. Life with death. We have a tendency to see things in good or bad. It sort of helps us know where we go. We were taught from the beginning of life to choose the good and avoid the bad. The good wolf and the bad wolf A good choice and a bad choice. Good behaviour and bad behaviour and so on. Good and bad could be associated with high human values BUT they could also be associated with cultures. The reaction to your actions leads you to decide what is "good" or what is "bad". This is how we all learnt as children how to discern between good and bad. And now, in times of changes let's change it. Let's do a "spring clean" and discard of the things that don't serve us any longer. To change we need an open mind. We need to listen to other ideas. We have to try other ways. We need to be willing to let go of rigidity of thoughts. "Change is the end result of all true learning" - Leo Buscaglia.
