Have you ever felt like you were walking on eggshells in a relationship? We all know the feeling... we don't want to rock the boat and create chaos and drama, but we also doubt the possibility of experiencing authentic joy here as well because something is being suppressed. It's the elephant in the room that keeps us from feeling free to just be ourself. So we play safe. We play small. We make sure we don't tip into the direction of getting triggered, but we also aren't free to tip in the direction of play and joy. We have a very small range of what is tolerable. While we may fool ourselves into thinking this is what it takes to keep things "good" in the relationship, this narrow range is more like a prison than a safe zone. And it's not just our relationship with others that can operate here, but also our relationship with ourself. Yes, you can walk on eggshells with yourself! In this episode we are going to talk about how to expand our range of emotion, because life is so much richer when we can open up the range of what can be felt and experienced.SHOWNOTES:Use code ONEHEART30 to get 30 days free on the Co Create App and gain access to the guided meditations and Q&A that accompanies this Reclamation of Feeling course.

Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:6 Who, being in very nature[a] God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature[b] of a servant, being made in human likeness.8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/faith-love-trust--3493635/support.

A man has a code. And his code is foiled by, I don't know, is it love and joy or Bisquik? Or is it the combination of all three? Does it have to be Bisquik? What if you use another brand of biscuits? (Bite your tongue!)All three of us Geek Girls agree that season 5 of “Fargo” is up there as a favorite. If you haven't watched it, please do note that you do not need to watch any prior seasons to acquire love and joy from this season. This is an anthology series. Each season stands alone. And, slight spoiler, this season is a true standalone in that, unlike the other seasons, it really is unrelated to the others. At the beginning of this episode, we discuss our own code of “look, don't touch!” This code is particularly useful when it comes to not contributing to the further destruction of coral reefs, not getting into trouble with mummified hands, and not causing future pandemics. For example, the zombie virus that will inevitably kill us all when it spills from our cocktails after melting out of the glacial ice it's been locked in for the past thousands of years. This is no joke. Yes, there really is a company that is selling glacial ice to bars to put in cocktails. Why, you ask. Because you're buying it. Duh.Then, quite timely really, The Guardian has a nice article on Jan 21, 2024, called “Arctic zombie viruses in Siberia could spark terrifying new pandemic, scientists warn.” I love their alternate term for said zombie viruses: Methuselah microbes, referring to the Biblical patriarch who lived to be 989. Still not as old as a zombie virus. But there you go.Alien egg? Single-cell organism in your spaceship? Ancient Egyptian scroll? Imagine if you could change the very fabric of your reality, simply by shifting your beliefs and emotional perspectives. In our dialogue with intentional manifesting coach, Greg Kuhn, we unpack his belief-raising process, drawing lessons from his personal journey with the powerful statement "I am God". Kuhn unveils his unique emotional reference chart, a tool that has guided his writing and life, steering him towards acceptance and peace. He shares his experience with free form journaling, exploring how defining and understanding emotional perspectives can lead to manifesting improved realities in your life. Then, we delve into a personal exploration of self-discovery, interest, and the emotional side of love and fulfillment. Contrary to the belief that finding joy requires giving up aspects of ourselves, we discuss how it's more about identifying and removing the obstacles that inflict pain. We learn that the path to love and joy might require altering our beliefs, and that the belief raising process can aid us in that journey. We depart with a reminder to persistently learn, grow, and change, for as they say, the only constant in life is change. Be sure to tune in next month as we continue our exploration of interest and inquisitiveness, from an emotional perspective.Support the showWhile you're here:Join Greg's Facebook manifesting Group, where you'll get exclusive content from me, available nowhere else: https://www.facebook.com/groups/manifestthebigstuff/Subscribe to Greg's FREE newsletter, Quantum Thoughts, where you'll also get exclusive content from me twice a month: https://manifestthebigstuff.com/newsletter/And, please, become a part of MANIFEST the Big Stuff by supporting our work here: https://www.buzzsprout.com/1925601/support

And this week's episode, I'm talking about the balance of give and take, of giving and receiving. I'm inviting folks to consider shifting away from the closed-off-ness of individualism ("I'm going to do my own thing and I don't care what anyone else does.") and stepping into collective care. How can we be mindful of how our actions affect others? How can we pay attention to our role in the collective while? Which then shifts the conversation to representation. For folks who are from marginalized communities, we are used to seeing the varied stories of white folks while only a single story of us is portrayed in the culture. When that changes, when we see ourselves represented in mainstream spotlights, it is profound. It feels like a confirmation that yes, we exist. We are visible and we are seen. I talk about the new all Filipino Broadway show, "Here Lies Love" and the new Asian-American "girlfriends road trip" movie, "Joy Ride" and what it feels like to be seen in a BIG way. * Follow me on Instagram for some real talk about midlife living in the diaspora, healing, alchemy, the magic of poetry, AND play: @leslieannhobayan or email me at leslieann@suryagian.com. A study of the fruit of the spirit, beginning with love and joy.
Earlier this spring, I had the opportunity to sit down with Deja Riley. She walked through my front door glowing more than ever. Her fertility journey has been long, difficult and heartbreaking. As she walked up the stairs, I felt this beautiful presence of life. She was newly pregnant and beaming with hope and joy. We waited to share this episode until after her recent pregnancy announcement. See her beautiful video here. If you haven't met Deja before, she is a wife, sister, friend, creative, mover, and motivator. She began her career as a dancer, performing with Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, J.Lo, and Beyoncé. She pivoted into teaching workouts and is now a global ambassador for Lululemon. She's also a podcast host for her new show, Dose of Duality where she encourages her listeners to “be a light & spread love where you go”. Deja is the definition of life, vibrance, and determination. When Shelly and Chad's little girl, Maddie, was diagnosed with a brain tumor at 9 years old, their regular lives with their five children were put on hold. Getting Maddie through surgery became their number one priority, and their family, friends, and neighborhood rallied together to help their family through it. But one person in particular, Shelly's cousin, embodied what it truly means to show up during difficult moments in small but meaningful ways. It all started when she posted a silly picture of herself wearing a mustache, which was sure to make Maddie giggle, with the hashtag #MustachesforMaddie. And while she couldn't have predicted how viral this movement would go, her small act of kindness is the perfect example of how simple it can be to show up for someone. As the hashtag gained traction, an outpouring of love happened from hundreds of people who sent funny little pictures for Maddie to enjoy. From putting mustaches on babies, cars, pets, stuffed animals, entire offices worth of doctors, classrooms, and more, even news stations picked up the story (including CNN and the Hallmark Channel). Shelly and Chad transformed Mustaches for Maddie into an award-winning book. They share great insights on handling the pressure parents feel during this time, managing the day-to-day, asking for (and accepting) help from others, and dealing with the uncertainties of a difficult diagnosis. And today, they're sharing their story to inspire anyone going through a difficult journey. This episode is fun, inspiring, and uplifting, and I hope it serves as a great reminder to keep spirits up and celebrate every little win along the way. As they say, laughter really is the best medicine. Key Takeaways with Chad Morris & Shelly Brown The pressure on parents to care for a sick child, alongside other responsibilities. Dealing with the uncertainty of a difficult diagnosis. Managing the impact that a difficult medical journey has on siblings with feelings of jealousy, frustration, sadness, and anxiety. Pastor Lowell Nelson teaches on John 15: 12-27 "Love and Joy Perfected" on 2/1/2023 for our Wednesday Bible Study. John 15:12-27 I Am the True Vine 12 "This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends. 14 "You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. 15 "No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. 16 "You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. 17 "These things I command you, that you love one another. The Hatred of the World 18 "If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. 19 "If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20 "Remember the word that I said to you, 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. 21 "But all these things they will do to you for My name's sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me. 22 "If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 "He who hates Me hates My Father also. 24 "If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father. 25 "But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, 'They hated Me without a cause.' 26 "But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. 27 "And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.

— In order to understand anxiety, we must first understand that it is a normal response to stress. A person who feels anxious is likely facing a new and unknown experience. If you think back to a time when you applied for a sports team, attended a job interview, or met someone new and unknown, fear and anxiety were likely present. Stress signals are sent by the body to keep you safe and secure. These signals inform the body that something is out of routine, or that there is something that needs to be taken into consideration. These signals aim to keep us out of dangerous situations and out of harm's way. In the course of our daily lives, we are subjected to these 'stress signals' over and over again, which can be a problem for us when we become anxious. We are at an unhealthy level of anxiety when normal, daily decisions overwhelm us. What can we do about it? Valeria interviews Eric Gilbert — He has helped hundreds of adults and youth dealing with high levels of anxiety, stress, or fear to be more calm and confident. Eric understands firsthand what it's like facing debilitating anxiety. As a child, Eric hardly spoke. It was through family counseling he learned about how his level of anxiety affected his social interactions, mood, and explosions of anger. With this personal journey, he pursued professional training to earn a Master's degree in Marriage and Family therapy, certifications in life coaching, relationship coaching, cognitive behavioral techniques, and more. Eric brings an uplifting, Christian approach for relieving stress and anxiety developed from over ten years work in the areas of mental and emotional health. The 'Rising Calm' process Eric developed helps you to rise above anxiety to experience love and success in all areas of your life. His work focuses on taking you from anxious and stressed to calm, centered and focused no matter the situation: work, school, social gatherings, heated arguments, tight deadlines, placement exams, etc. The process involves learning and practicing effective ways to calm your mind and nervous system even in anxiety-provoking situations. Eric treasures helping people to rise above the storms of life and experience a greater level of peace and purpose. Christian Meditation for A Bigger Life with Pastor Dave Cover
Christian Meditation is a quiet time for you to re-integrate and re-calibrate your mind with your body. And re-integrate and re-calibrate your mind and body with God‘s presence with you and in you. Remember the quote from the apostle Paul in Acts 17:28 – In him you live and move and have your being. This episode is a reload of a previous episode with some editing/cuts. If your podcast app is set to skip the silent sections, disable that in your podcast app for this podcast. Christian meditation focuses you on biblical imagery showing how you — your body — utterly depend upon God's life-giving Spirit at every moment. Paul says, “In him we live and move and have our being” (Act 17:28). Of course most people don't realize this or think of themselves this way, and even WE live our lives often ignoring God. But regardless whether we acknowledge it or not, it's God who gives us life at every moment we're alive. Every cell in our body. Continue to focus on breathing deeply and being aware of and relaxing your whole body with each exhale… Let's recalibrate our mind and body to reality by imagining this reality and experiencing it in meditation. Imagine every cell in your body being given its life by God's Spirit. This imagery can bring relaxation and relieve stress from your body. Let's meditate on the imagery of… Ephesians 5:18 — “Be filled with the Spirit.” It's an amazing thing to think – the God that created this universe is in me! In my body. The life-giving, universe-creating power of the Spirit of God is in me! I want his power to fill me! Fill every cell in my body! Continue to focus on breathing deeply and being aware of and relaxing your whole body with each exhale… Let's imagine that now as we focus on a few more areas where we typically hold our tension and anxiety in our body. Your body is filled with God's Spirit — No fear. No insecurity. No threat. Let's meditate on the imagery of… Galatians 5:22-23 ESV …The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, [and] self-control.
