Another Paternity Leave Installment, and we bring out the big guns this time... As mentioned over the past few weeks, this is content that's been behind the Patreon paywall for a while. Patreon payments are frozen for the time being. New Munchies technically can't join as paying members until that's unpaused, but it looks as though a few resourceful fans have figured out a work-around where you can join as a free member and upgrade from there to a paid account which charges you for one month and unlocks the back catalog behind the respective tier of the paywall. After that first payment, you won't be charged again until we're dropping new content (which we'll warn everyone is coming).Did you know that Liv tells a suspect that she knows he “stabbed the Captain with a pickle?” That's no typo. It's in this beautiful episode of television. The fates (and by fates, we mean episode.lol, built for us by friend of the pod, Flet) elected to bestow upon the world the Valentine's Day gift of Wetness—specifically S12E5 “Wet,” which is truly one of the most balls-to-the-wall, front-to-back utterly insane episodes the Munchie Boys have embarked upon in a podcast brimming to the top with insane installments. Moving past its fantastic name, this SVU is centrally concerned with:SexProwl, a professionally conceived “YouTube of sex” wherein true douchebros have a followingSoda being little more than poison for our youthCorporations trying to buy up our water supply and the dastardly tactics they'll employ to meet their goalsFungi, which should never be used to hurt anyoneThe true horrors that inherited wealth wreak upon the rest of the world, namely bad performance art, unwarranted cocksurety, jewelry-related guilting, unloving guardianship, drug addiction, and the framing of innocent mycologists for murderSeriously. Mushrooms, soda being poison, water rights, and horrible rich people. And it gives David Krumholtz a truly Krumholtzian role to jazz rant his way through. This is all a gift to humankind, and we're glad to be here for it.Sources:Mushroom - WikipediaAmanita Muscaria - PsychonautLeasing the Rain - William Finnegan for The New Yorker, March 31, 2002Corn Subsidies in the US from 1995-2020 - EWG Farm Subsidy DatabaseMusic:Divorcio Suave - “Munchy Business”Thanks to our gracious Munchies on Patreon: Jeremy S, Jaclyn O, Amy Z, Nikki B, Diana R, Tony B, Zak B, Barry W, Drew D, Nicky R, Stuart, Jacqi B, Natalie T, Robyn S, Christine L, Amy A, Sean M, Jay S, Briley O, Asteria K, Suzanne B, Tim Y, Douglas P, John P, John W, Elia S, Rebecca B, Lily, Sarah L, Melsa A, Alyssa C, Johnathon M, Tiffany C, Brian B, Kate K, Whitney C, Alex, Lauren A, Jannicke HS, Giselle V, Roni C, and Nourhane B - y'all are the best!Be a Munchie, too! The lights go out at McKinley High, but much comes to light.Jenna & Kevin are not mincing words - they think one of the cringiest, worst moments of the entire show happens in this episode. Kevin shares how he felt saying certain lines and tried to protest it, but ultimately, he had no say in changing it. On a more light-hearted note ... the return of a glowing SJP, Sue Sylvester's brilliant singing, and fun numbers, like "Longest Time," where everyone was being silly, especially Melissa Benoist, who had Kevin in stitches the entire time.Plus, fun memories of the cast going to see Jane Lynch make her Broadway debut in "Annie" and the unintentional chaos they caused with their arrival! Don't wait until 'Tomorrow' to listen to this one!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Jake Puckerman himself is on the pod!Jack of all trades, Jacob Artist, joins Jenna and Kevin to break down how he got the role of 'Jake,' what Ryan Murphy asked him during his audition process, having instant chemistry with Melissa Benoist, his reaction to comments that he was underutilized on the show, and the hilarious nicknames he gave to everyone on set. McKinley High's lunch lady and Marley's mom is on the pod!Trisha Rae Stahl made her debut during Glee's fourth season, bringing warmth to the show as Melissa Benoist's kind and supportive mom. The mother-daughter on-screen chemistry blew Kevin and Jenna away, but Trisha reveals there was no chemistry test, and they never met before working together! She also shares her audition process, what she really feels about the jokes and insults her character had to deal with, and her surprising connection with one of her on-screen bullies! Melissa Benoist stepped into the Hollywood spotlight in a big way via Glee. Then she cemented herself as a bonafide star and headliner with Supergirl. Now she continues to broaden her range and her industry skill set by starring in and producing the hugely entertaining political drama, The Girls on the Bus.Created by Amy Chozick and Julie Plec, The Girls on the Bus is inspired by Chozick's memoir, Chasing Hillary. It follows four female journalists played by Benoist, Carla Gugino, Christina Elmore and Natasha Behnam, who are on the campaign trail with aspiring presidential candidates. They all have vastly different backgrounds and goals, but find themselves supporting one another as they navigate career pressures, personal challenges, and frustrations with flawed presidential hopefuls. As Collider's Taylor Gates noted in her review, “[Girls on the Bus] handles serious topics, from sexism and racism to abortion and corruption, in a way that feels both raw and palatable while never taking away from the show's watchability and enjoyability,” and I must agree. Powered by its perfectly assembled core four and their infectious charm, Girls on the Bus quickly earned my investment and heart. Given that, it'll probably come as no surprise that the show's cancellation was a massive disappointment. However, that's not stopping Benoist from celebrating what she and the team achieved.Benoist took the time to join me for a Collider Ladies Night conversation to recap her road to Girls on the Bus, to discuss her collaboration with her three top-tier co-stars, and to explain why the show's cancellation will have zero impact on how she looks back on the experience of making it and the final product she and the team produced.

Amy is back with a conversation about the new show now streaming on Max, The Girls on the Bus. The show stars Melissa Benoist as Sadie McCarthy, a scrappy and ambitious journalist covering a fictional Democratic presidential primary. It follows Sadie and three other women reporters as they navigate the campaign trail, while juggling their careers, personal lives — and relationships with one another. The Girls on the Bus is inspired by the book “Chasing Hillary” by Amy Chozick, a former New York Times reporter. Amy's book chronicled her experiences covering Hillary Clinton's 2008 and 2016 presidential campaigns.Amy Walter talks with Amy Chozick and Julie Plec, co-creators and executive producers of The Girls on the Bus, and actress Melissa Benoist. They discuss politics, journalism, and turning campaign coverage into a television series.
In an election year, actress Melissa Benoist is taking her activism to the screen, and begging voters to, well, vote. “The Girls on The Bus” star also talks women's rights, motherhood and therapy. She also takes a walk down memory lane reminiscing on past projects such as “Glee” and “Supergirl.”
His work in series like “Grey's Anatomy,” “13 Reasons Why,” and “This Is Us,” has established Brandon Scott as a captivatingly talented actor. His latest is the new MAX series “The Girls on the Bus,” where he plays the jilted ex-lover of Melissa Benoist's journalist character, who now needs his help because he's the new press secretary to the leading Presidential candidate. He talks about the process of building connection between two people that are supposed to have a past, and how sometimes that can be done in simple ways. He describes the impact Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini had on developing his sense of play while shooting “Dead To Me,” explains why directors showing “collaborative curiosity” is so helpful, why his process starts with stress and fear, plus much more! Back To One is the in-depth, no-nonsense, actors-on-acting podcast from Filmmaker Magazine. In each episode, host Peter Rinaldi invites one working actor to do a deep dive into their unique process, psychology, and approach to the craft. Follow Back To One on Instagram

Ten years ago at the Sundance Film Festival, every one who saw it was just dazzled by this low-budget music drama directed by then up-and-comer Damian Chazelle. And as the year progressed, so did more buzz before it was eventually released worldwide later that year to much acclaim and lots of awards attention. In fact, this film ended up being nominated for five Oscars including Best Picture and ended up winning three, including for Best Supporting Actor. J.K. Simmons won that award for playing the highly memorable Fletcher, a jazz professor who takes one new student under his wing.....sort of. :) That student would be the highly motivated and gifted Andrew played by Miles Teller - he's a drummer with only ONE goal: to become the best! And Fletcher wants him to become the best....but at what cost? What results is one of the more unique stories of a prodigy and his mentor.....which goes to some dark places. So let's find out who's rushing, who's dragging, and WHO'S playing out of tune....WARNING: There are some racial and homophobic epithets spoken within clips from the movie included in this podcast.Host & Editor: Geoff GershonProducer: Marlene Gershon https://livingforthecinema.com/Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/Living-for-the-Cinema-Podcast-101167838847578Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/livingforthecinema/Letterboxd:https://letterboxd.com/Living4Cinema/

We are fast approaching the second movie adaptation of Supergirl with Sasha Calle appearing in The Flash 2023. But before Sasha Calle and even Laura Vandervoort from Smallville and Melissa Benoist in the Arrowverse there was the 1984 movie. Set in the Christopher Reeve Superman universe it sees Helen Slater take on the role in a truely bizarre adventure which is entirely divorced from reality and logic. Is it good? No. Is it weird? Yeah it's real weird. DC has announced plans to adapt the comic book series "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow" into a movie. The movie will be led by James Gunn and Peter Safran and will offer a different perspective on Supergirl compared to past adaptations. The comic book series follows Supergirl as she is approached by an alien girl whose planet has been destroyed and who is seeking revenge. Supergirl, Krypto the dog, and the alien embark on a journey that will challenge them deeply. In the past, Supergirl was portrayed in live-action form by Melissa Benoist as part of The CW's Arrowverse franchise. The movie doesn't have an official release date yet, but other projects announced by DC include "The Batman 2," an Amanda Waller TV series, and a "Superman: Legacy" movie. -------------------- *Check Out All Our Podcasts!* Geek Freaks Podcast: https://linktr.ee/GeekFreaks Pushing Buttons: https://linktr.ee/PushingButtonsPodcast TrekFreaks: https://linktr.ee/TrekFreaks Headlines: https://tinyurl.com/2p8bvu6d Geek Freaks Interviews: https://linktr.ee/GeekFreaksInterviews Outlast Podcast: https://linktr.ee/OutlastPodcast Round Three: https://linktr.ee/RoundThree Disney Moms Gone Wrong: https://linktr.ee/disneymomsgonewrong Sloop: https://www.patreon.com/GeekFreakspodcast -------------------- *Hang Out With Us!* Discord: https://discord.gg/6Jrvyb2 Twitter: twitter.com/geekfreakspod Facebook: facebook.com/groups/227307812330853/ Instagram: instagram.com/geekfreakspodcast E-mail: thegeekfreakspodcast@gmail.com Twitch: twitch.tv/geekfreakspodcast Site: thegeekfreakspodcast.com --------------------- *Support Us!* Patreon: https://patreon.com/GeekFreakspodcast Store: redbubble.com/people/GeekFreaks

Welcome to Death by Fame, the companion podcast to the Price of Glee and Death by Fame on ID and discovery+, hosted Sara Azari, criminal defense Lawyer in Los Angeles. Sara's represented big criminal cases at the state and federal level, and has seen the special brand of crime and scandal that thrives in Hollywood firsthand. On this episode, Sara is joined by Dino Ray Ramos, former Associate Editor at Deadline and the current Founder and Editor in Chief of Diaspora. Sara and Dino will discuss the disastrous rise and fall of the hit show Glee. Glee at the beginning of its tenure was a bright star. It was innovative, fun and launched the careers of several young actors. However, after season 3 - viewership plummeted and the series struggled to live up to its former glory- taking its young and talented cast and crew down with it with some whispering of a Glee Curse. Sara will sit down with Dino Ray Ramos, the Associate Editor at Deadline to discuss the disastrous rise and fall of Glee. They'll examine the tragic deaths of some of the show's stars, as well as the deaths of some of the show's crew - with some blaming the show's grueling production schedule and long days. They will also discuss the abusive marriage between cast members Melissa Benoist and Blake Jenner and how hard violence and spousal abuse allegations can be to sort out through the legal system.
