This is perhaps the most new-agey title we've ever given for any of our videos but bear with me! It's appropriate, I promise! In this lecture, we explore the exciting world of Kavaca (spiritual armor), devices or mantras which serve an apotropaic (protective) function. We say a few things about physical kavacas that can be worn and which are often made out of specific metals, stones and yantras before introducing three forms of "mantra-kavaca", mantra-armors you can start using immediately to protect yourself from all harm whether physical, psychical or spiritual! Finally, I make a comparison between the Devi Kavaca from the Chandi and the Old Irish prayer "St. Patrick's Breastplate" to introduce some Kavacas in the Christian mystical tradition also!May you be safe and protected always! Jai Mā!Our pūjā class meets live every Thursday evening at 6:30pm PST via this link:https://www.zoom.us/j/7028380815If you want to follow along with the "How To Do Tantrik Puja" course, you can watch or rewatch previous lectures here:https://www.patreon.com/collection/233799Lectures happen live every Monday at 7pm PST and Friday 10am PSTUse this link and I will see you there:https://www.zoom.us/j/7028380815For more videos, guided meditations and instruction and for access to our lecture library, visit me at:https://www.patreon.com/yogawithnishTo get in on the discussion and access various spiritual materials, join our Discord here: https://discord.gg/U8zKP8yMrMSupport the show

Kurt's moving miracle! 6:30 Bryan has great relationships and connections with his clients. He makes everyone feel like they are his best friend. He takes time to listen and ask questions. He makes people feel important. 9:45 There are 3 types of guys in the elders quorum. Connecting with the guy that you don't normally see. The dude I never see The dude I see but he's checked out The dude that's there and trying to do the best he can. 13:30 The blessing of being with a youth. A youth leader can be as influential to a youth member as their parents or maybe in some cases more so. That is sacred. 14:10 What's sacred about elders quorum? Most men don't have more than 3 friends. We have the opportunity to create that connection. 15:45 Bryan felt the call to help more of the men around him and in his ward. Bryan shares his story and where this call came from. 19:45 A common fallacy is that external success creates internal happiness. Having divine discontentment. 22:15 The best way to heal a broken heart is to put it to work. Working on yourself. 28:30 What is The Evolution Project? How did it start? Bryan's job is to organize everything and God takes care of the rest. If a man goes in nature then God will find him. The Evolution Project isn't therapy but about providing men experiences that are transformational. 36:00 Bryan shares an experience of one of the men at one of The Evolution Project events. 38:45 Three principles or rules that The Evolution Project focuses on. Have a safe environment. Don't share people's personal stories outside the group. I statements: Own your story. When someone speaks, you don't have the right to cross-coach them. Ask first. 43:20 Men just need to talk it out. Someone to listen. They don't necessarily need therapy or coaching. 44:30 Seeing the 3 evolution project's rules in your next elders quorum meeting. Noticing when there is cross coaching and not using I statements. We need to create rules and boundaries in these meetings to create safety so that people feel safe to open up in front of others. 47:00 What do we need to understand about grace? 49:40 More on the next The Evolution Project events and Warrior Heart events. 52:45 You can't lead people where you haven't been. In this lecture, we take a comparative look at the Divine Feminine as it is worshipped in the Mesopotamian, Aztec, Spanish, Celtic, Gaelic and Hellenistic cultures to show that Mā Kālī is not confined to any one culture or religion. Though Her worship and veneration is perhaps most articulated and most visibly extant in Hinduism, She is indeed the Primordial Power that was worshipped by all peoples in all places as perhaps the first religious intuition/revelation of the human race in all its diverse civilizations. Before we make these anthropological points though, we will first feel into Mā Kālī's non dual aspect as Pure Consciousness, the Formless Brahman who certain transcends all name and form what to say culture and creed! Upon this philosophical basis of Kālī as non dual consciousness (supported by a few verses from the Chandi), we will make the case that Kālī is more than a Goddess in a pantheon; She is the One Reality, Consciousness-Bliss, who alone exists and who is worshipped by all people!Lectures happen live on zoom every Monday at 7pm PST and Friday 10am PST and Friday at 6pm PST.  There's Q&A right after the lectures. It is free and open to the public. Ladies & Gentlemen, on this Episode of Subconscious Realms we welcome back The Host & Creator of - Threshold Saints Podcast- Jin The Ninja for PT9 of The Tantric Pantheon... Brace yourself & it shall be indeed Wise for you to at very least keep handy spare Underwear or even invest in Adult Diapers, you will most likely Shit your pants after listenin to such Mind-Melting, World Changing Information. "Fierce Demon-Destroying - Chandika/The Violent & Impetuous One - Chandi"; (Sanskrit: “The Fierce”) demon-destroying form of the Hindu goddess Shakti, particularly popular in eastern India. She is known by various names, such as Mahamaya (“Great Magic”) or Abhaya (“She Who Is Without Fear”). Her representation is similar to that of Durga, another form of Shakti. She is shown with either 8 or 10 arms, seated on a lion vehicle. Hundreds of folktales and songs tell of her exploits. She is the central figure of an extensive medieval Bengali literature known as Chandi-mangal, the most famous of which is that of Mukundarama Chakravarti (c. 16th century). The form that Goddess Durga took to annihilate demons Chanda and Munda is unimaginable and it is beyond the capacity of human beings. The net result is that sculptures, idol makers and writers wanted to better what was imagined by the previous generation. Thus we have numerous forms of Goddess Chandika. Symbolically the Goddess Chandika form is that of the Violent Mother Nature, who annihilates her sons, who have strayed from the path of Dharma. It must be noted here that the form that Goddess Durga took to kill Chanda and Munda is also known as Goddess Chamunda. "Lion-Headed Dakini - Simhamukha"; Simhamukha is a supreme dakini in Tibetan Buddhism, who combines anthropomorphic and zoomorphic features. She is an wrathful emanation of Guhya Jnana Dakini (Tib. Sangwa Yeshe Khandroma) and is revered in the Nyingma school as one of Padmasambhava's main teachers. Simhamukha is associated with exorcist rituals that prevent black magic and eliminate harmful effects. The ritual practice includes the use of a kapala and a metal mirror on which dharmodaya (“the source of reality”, symbolically depicted in the shape of a tetrahedron) is painted with red powder, in the center of which is written HUNG, the bija mantra of the wrathful goddesses. The mantra of Simhamukha, AH KA SA MA RA TSA SHA DA RA SA MA RA YA PHAT, is known as “the fierce mantra of fourteen letters that averts all magical attacks” (ngag drag log yige chuzhipa). It can be pronounced in a reverse way during extremely wrathful rituals, and it can also be written on the human body to create the so-called “vajra armor” (dorje gotrab) of the subtle body....

Women are able to recall details of sexual assault and rape with accuracy, even if they have drunk – moderate amounts of alcohol .A study conducted at the University of Birmingham demonstrated that women who had drunk alcohol up to the legal limit for driving were able to recall details of an assault in a hypothetical scenario, including details of activities to which they had, and had not, consented. Heather Flowe, Professor of Psychology led the study. A year ago, British Army officer and physiotherapist Captain Preet Chandi (AKA Polar Preet) made history as the first woman of colour to complete a solo expedition in Antarctica. Now she's just broken another world record: the longest ever solo and unsupported Polar ski expedition. The 33-year-old travelled 922 miles across Antarctica, beating the previous record of 907 miles set by Henry Worsley, a retired Lieutenant Colonel, in 2015. Having spent over 70 days on her own, trekking in temperatures as cold as -50C, she speaks to Anita Rani about how she endured such a physical and mental challenge. Is your partner's ex a significant person in your life? Are they someone you tolerate - or are they someone whose company you genuinely enjoy? Would you even go so far as to call them a friend? Or even a best friend? The friendship between popstar Katy Perry and the model Miranda Kerr attracted attention this week. Why…because Katy Perry is engaged to Orlando Bloom - who Miranda used to be married to.  Katy Perry posted about her friend on Instagram calling her her “sister from another mister” and stating “I love our modern family”. So how realistic or welcome is it to be friends with your partner's ex? We hear from the journalist Esther Walker. Adding higher levels of folic acid (otherwise known as vitamin B9) to all flour and rice would stop hundreds more UK babies being born with lifelong disabilities. That's what a group of leading scientists are saying. Women in the UK are advised to take a daily folic supplement before becoming pregnant, to reduce the risk of giving birth to babies with severe abnormalities called neural tube defects, such as spina bifida. But many don't. Anita Rani is joined by Neena Modi, Professor of Neonatal Medicine at Imperial College London. Best known more recently for her portrayal of River Song, the wife and occasional companion of Dr Who, actor Alex Kingston is currently on stage in Stratford-upon-Avon as part of the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of The Tempest. Women playing what are regarded as traditionally male roles on stage is not unusual these days but Alex explains to Anita why making Prospero a woman and mother surviving exile on a small island makes that role much more powerful. Preet Chandi was a tennis prodigy from a traditional British Punjabi family, living away from home from a very early age. She left school with very few qualifications, joined the army reserves without telling her family, got into university, became an officer in the regular army, got a masters and decided to go to the South Pole on her own. This is a two parter in one episode about the grit, determination and drive of an extraordinary woman. She would tell she's not extraordinary, but I challenge you to listen to this without being inspired to do something bigger than you, against all the odds and pre-conceptions of society.I spoke to Preet before she left to eventually become the first woman of colour to reach the South Pole unsupported (spoiler alert) and then had the pleasure of catching up with her not long before she went back again to attempt to cross the whole of Antarctica unsupported, with the goal of being the first woman to do so.The change in tone between the first half and the second is interesting. The talkative, enthusiasm is still there but you can hear very clearly the gravity that such an endeavour bestowed upon her. A maturity, a worldliness and perhaps a little bit of the unresolved frustrations she has experienced since her return.Preet is out of the ice as I publish (Dec 2022) in her Phase 2 and you can follow her on IG @polarpreet and on her website www.polarpreet.com

She conquered temperatures of minus 50 and winds of up to 60 while pulling 90 kilos. Nonetheless, she completed her 700-mile challenge almost a week ahead of schedule, skiing from Hercules Inlet to the south pole and 40 days, seven hours and three minutes. She hopes her achievement will inspire others.Review the Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-modern-adventurer-podcast/id1535779210Writing this expedition was always about so much more than me. I want to encourage people to push their boundaries and believe in themselves. And I want to be able to do it without being labelled. She is an inspiration and role model as the first woman of colour to complete this impressive feat. She said everybody starts somewhere, no matter where you're from or where the start line is.Preet's WebsitePreet's InstagramSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-modern-adventurer/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

What big outdoors adventure would you want to do if you really put your mind to it? For my guest Preet Chandi, her dream involves Antarctica. Preet is an officer and physiotherapist in the British Army. She's also a Nordic skier and endurance runner and she is preparing for the biggest trip of her life in November - a solo expedition to the South Pole. She'll be on skis, pulling her kit on a sled for over 6 weeks and travelling 700miles on her own. While her training for the Antarctica mission recently has included pulling tyres around London parks, it has also taken her to Norway, Iceland and Greenland. But Preet is not a professional adventurer - she had little expedition experience until a couple of years ago and she fits her adventures around her job in the Army. She's determined to inspire people to push their boundaries, particularly women from diverse backgrounds, by showing how the outdoors can help achieve big dreams. The Outdoors Fix is a podcast produced and hosted by Liv Bolton @liv_outsideuk This episode of The Outdoors Fix was supported by outdoor footwear brand Merrell. Merrell is launching a year-long campaign called #StepFurther to encourage people from all walks of life to get outdoors on a micro-adventure to experience the benefits for both their physical and mental health. And we dive into the spiritual understanding of the phrase “She Who Tears Apart Thought”. But first, in order to understand the themes presented in the Chandi Path, one must know Durga. Laura gives a wonderful explanation on the Goddess Durga, her manifestations and how one can connect with her. We also talk about: · The differences and similarities between the Saptamatrikas, Ashtamatrikas and the Mahavidyas. · What and who is Chandi and the Chandi Path? · How Tantra is a path of paradox, and a path of understanding “things” are always Both and And. More about Laura Amazzone: Laura is an initiated Tantric practitioner, teacher and scholar specializing in Shakta Tantra Goddesses, Mythology, History & Philosophy & Kaula & Shri Vidya Rituals, Sadhanas & Teachings.
