Democrats are portrayed as unanimously opposed. The bill is now in debate, with Republicans attempting to build public support. The legislation would: Require proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote in federal elections. Require photo ID to cast a ballot. This is: A common-sense safeguard, not voter suppression. Necessary to maintain election integrity and public trust. Voting is framed as a sacred right earned through American history and constitutional amendments. The speech references: The 15th, 19th, and 26th Amendments as expansions of voting rights. A U.S. Supreme Court ruling (Indiana voter ID case) that upheld photo ID laws. Facts are laid out that: Minority voter participation increased after voter ID laws. The Court rejected arguments that voter ID is discriminatory. 81% of Americans support voter ID laws. Who wouldn't want relief from 20–30% APRs? But dig one layer deeper, and this proposal turns from populist applause line into an economic mess that would hurt the very people it claims to help.In this episode, Chris explains how the credit card industry actually works—who really charges interest, where swipe fees go, and why Visa, Mastercard, and AmEx aren't the villains they're made out to be. Spoiler: banks take the risk, banks charge the interest, and credit cards are largely unsecured, non-recourse loans.Cap rates at 10%, and banks won't suddenly become generous—they'll pull credit, cancel cards, jack up fees, or require cash collateral. Young workers, lower-credit borrowers, and anyone new to the system get squeezed out first. Hey friends, Chase here This episode is short and direct: most creators don't struggle because they lack talent — they struggle because they quit at 95%. They get the work to "pretty good," ship it, and move on. And for a lot of things in life, that's fine. The 80–20 rule works. But when it comes to your core creative craft — the thing you want to be known for — good enough is the trap. The last 5% is where the details live. It's uncomfortable, slow, and often invisible. Which is exactly why most people stop before they get there. Here's the core idea: 80–20 works for most things — but mastery lives in the final 5%. If you keep shipping at 95%, you're training yourself to miss the point. When I worked with Apple to help create the foundation for Today at Apple, the first draft came together fast. In less than a week, we were 95% there. But Apple doesn't hire creators for "pretty good." Pushing through that final 5% took nearly ten times as long — and it set the standard for creative education across hundreds of stores worldwide. Two common mistakes I see: Misusing the 80–20 rule: applying it to the work that defines you. Confusing shipping with finishing: stopping because it's hard, not because it's done. This isn't about perfectionism. It's about discernment — knowing when the work actually matters and being willing to go all the way when it does. Emergency housing may not be being used the way it's intended, with application rejections on the up. Data obtained by our newsroom shows applications have dropped significantly to the end of June, but the number being declined, is rising. Rules introduced last year allow officials to decline grants if they believe a person has caused or contributed to their immediate need for housing.
