David Waldman throws the news at us and dives for cover. Greg Dworkin tells us that the worst is by design, and he brings the receipts from around the world. Trump makes the world safe for White flight. Donald stopped the war between India and Pakistan using only his mind. He is now wishing the war in Gaza to end. Who's Ukraine? Maybe they got him coffee one time. South Korea's conservatives throw everything up in the air to see if it all falls into place. Germany wishes to ignore their far-right, but they are a noisy bunch. After 40 years, the Kurdish group PKK says, “Oh well, it was worth a try.” In Virginia, they have no one to blame but themselves but probably won't. So, Qatar is sending Trump a giant golden palace of a 747. Hey, can't a country give their buddy a thing without everyone suddenly questioning it? The White House said Ceci n'est pas une émolument, or something to that effect. Anyhow, Trump is only borrowing it until he keeps it... that's not “corrupt”, it's called “being smart”. You'd have to be a radical Left Trump hater to say otherwise. Trump said “tariffs”, setting off another sheep stampede. Time for another executive order to yell at another cloud, this time to demand that prices go down from up where they are. Drug prices should go down once the customer base passes away. James Bond still can rest easy, his car shopping remains tariff-free. Insult to Nazis, Steven Miller, is thinking about suspending habeas corpus, inspiring fantasies of abusing his corpus. David explains habeas corpus, as does just about everyone with a keyboard this morning. We have always been at war with Eastasia. Newark Mayor Ras Baraka refused to take the bait at an ICE detention center, but that didn't keep them from arresting him. He's lucky they didn't send in Seal Team 6.

On todays show we cover covered the case of Hamdi vs. Rumsfeld, where Yaser Esam Hamdi, classified as an enemy combatant, was detained without a hearing. The Supreme Court, in a 5-4 plurality decision, ruled he had the right to an AVS petition and counsel. Justice O'Connor's opinion emphasized due process. The conversation also touched on the potential suspension of habeas corpus, the impact of lab-grown diamonds on the industry, and the recent incident at an ICE facility involving Newark Mayor Ras Baraka and three congressmen. Additionally, the group discussed Trump's potential recognition of a Palestinian state and the legalities of his use of a Qatari jet as a temporary Air Force One. The discussion covered the Palisades fire in California, highlighting the red tape delaying rebuilding permits. Glenn Cox mentioned Donald Trump's criticism of California's regulatory issues. The conversation then shifted to global political moves, including Trump's interactions with various world leaders and his potential strategies to impact oil and gas production and Venezuela's political landscape. Venezuela's temporary permits for Chevron are expiring, and Trump is against renewing them. The segment also touched on the spiritual significance of exit 33 and promoted a coffee shop at that exit, emphasizing its offerings and the potential for social interaction. Don't Miss It.
Tonight, on NJ Spotlight News … Tenafly native Edan Alexander has been released after 584 days in captivity… he was the last surviving US hostage being held by Hamas; Plus, more flight delays and cancellations at Newark Airport over the weekend. President Trump said late Saturday that U.S. and Chinese officials had negotiated a "total reset" in their trade relationship during talks in Switzerland. There aren't shortages of goods in U.S. stores yet, but if the deterioration in global shipping is any indication, they are on the way. That could complicate the White House's pleas for Americans to be patient as trade officials rush to strike dozens of deals. Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was arrested Friday at a federal immigration detention center where he has been protesting its opening this week. He was released hours later and told supporters: "I didn't do anything wrong." When word came of Pope Leo XIV's Chicago roots, witty local comments flooded social media timelines, even from our elected leaders. "Everything dope, including the Pope, comes from Chicago," Mayor Brandon Johnson posted. (Cringe)
On Friday's Mark Levin Show, Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was arrested for trespassing at a federal ICE detention facility he wants to close. He refused to leave when asked, showing politicians' arrogance. Trespassing and refusing to leave leads to arrest, as nobody, including politicians, is above the law. Protesting inside a federal law enforcement center isn't allowed, and while ICE enforces the law, Democrats claim they're unrestrained by it. Interim U.S. Attorney for NJ Alina Habba calls in to explain exactly what happened with the arrest. This is federal property, and the laws can't be broken, no matter who you are. Also, AG Letitia James dismisses the mortgage fraud allegations against her as unfounded, despite published forms and evidence suggesting criminal activity. Later, 15 states are suing over Trump's order to speed up oil and gas projects. Most likely, a judge will block energy independence. It's time for the Supreme Court to step up against these rogue judges. There might be a time when Americans defy the courts because they won't respect the rogue activity of these judges. If judges won't abide by the law, why should the people listen to their orders? This is all about sabotage and obstruction by these judges. Afterward, Trump is considering a plan to strengthen ties with Greenland by proposing a Compact of Free Association (COFA), similar to agreements with Pacific Island nations. This brilliant move aims to bring Greenland into America's sphere of influence. This is what a consequential president does. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was arrested Friday at a federal immigration detention center where he has been protesting its opening this week and held in custody for several hours. Newark Mayor Ras Baraka is sounding the alarm as cases in the city rise to levels not seen since the height of the pandemic back in April. Baraka is now defending his decision to implement even stricter COVID restrictions across New Jersey’s largest city. Baraka says all non-essential businesses in Newark must now close at 8pm two hours earlier than the state’s 10pm shut down order. Baraka says he has received push back from business owners to elected officials but says for him its about saving lives. “It’s about health and data that’s it, that’s the only reason that you should be making a decision. The decision should be about data. If the data is telling you that people are catching this virus at a rapid rate and that the deaths are slowly increasing, then you have to do something, and if what you do doesn’t work then you have to do more.” Baraka says he understand the economic impact of the restrictions, citing he city’s double digit unemployment rate brought on by the pandemic, but

A recent New York Law Journal article titled "Deutsche Bank Tells 2nd Circuit It Has Tax Returns of at Least One Trump Family Member," says, "The bank wrote in a letter to the Second Circuit US Court of Appeals that it had the tax returns of someone, or multiple people, targeted by congressional subpoenas, but redacted any identifying information." The bank indicated that it had tax documents for either US President Donald Trump or one of his three eldest children, who have played roles in his business dealings. A decision from the court, which is expected soon, may allow Congress to obtain those filings and other financial records of Trump or his children. Democratic lawmakers have been seeking Trump's tax returns and subpoenaed Deutsche Bank and Capital One, which have had business relationships with the president. Trump, in turn, sued to block the banks from complying with the subpoenas. The banks had until 4 p.m. Tuesday to respond to the subpoenas. What does all this mean?Trump said Monday there's a "really good chance" he could meet with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on their nuclear impasse after a surprise intervention by French President Emmanuel Macron during the G7 summit to try to bring Washington and Tehran together after decades of conflict. Macron orchestrated the high-stakes gamble to invite Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, whose plane landed at the locked-down airport of the coastal resort of Biarritz during the G-7 meeting. Rouhani on Tuesday dashed hopes of a potential meeting with his US counterpart in the foreseeable future, saying the United States should lift all sanctions before Iran agrees to talks. Also Tuesday, Zarif called the idea of Trump and Rouhani meeting “unimaginable.”Daesh claimed responsibility for a suicide bomb attack at a wedding in Kabul earlier this month that killed 63 people and wounded 182. It has been described as one of the deadliest suicide attacks in years. Since Daesh lost its territorial caliphate in Iraq and Syria, the group has splintered and remains a threat around the region, with several local franchises sprouting up, including in Afghanistan. Is it the fear of Daesh that is motivating the Taliban to negotiate an agreement with the US?Officials are voting Tuesday to decide if Newark, New Jersey, is going to take a multi-million dollar loan to fast track the replacement of lead water pipes as the city's water crisis drags on. Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy and Essex County Executive Joe DiVincenzo appeared Monday to announce that the county would issue bonds to extradite the ripping out of around 18,000 outdated pipes. The loans are expected to take a nearly 10-year project and wrap it up in about two-and-a-half years. However, the move is not completely locked in yet, as the Newark City Council, the Essex County Board of Commissioners and the Essex County Freeholders must ratify it.GUESTS:Dr. Jack Rasmus — Professor of economics at Saint Mary's College of California.
