Squad Rotation: Looking ahead to Club Brugge—will Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly finally get minutes? The Striker Situation: Gyökeres' fitness, the Jesus wildcard, and the Noni Madueke conundrum. Host Ricky Sacks is joined by returning regular panellists Broadcaster Russ Williams, Actor TJ Ramini and Marlon as Xavi Simons inspired us to a first Premier League win since late October with a goal and an assist as we beat Brentford 2-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Dutch international produced arguably his best performance in our colours following his August arrival, setting up Richarlison for the opener before scoring his first goal as a Spurs player with a wonderful solo effort, leaving us in control at half-time. We probably should have won by more as Thomas Frank came up against his former side for the first time, creating a whole host of chances which we didn't take, while Guglielmo Vicario was only called into action once to keep out Igor Thiago in the first period. It was a first league victory and clean sheet since the 3-0 win at Everton on 26 October and a first home victory in the division since the opening day against Burnley but it was a performance to leave us with plenty of optimism going into the busy festive period and beyond. There has been a lawsuit filed against Tony Bloom and his sports gambling syndicate alleging, well, the lawsuit is actually just asking for money. In this episode I'm joined by Phil Costa to talk about the 2-0 win over Brentford on Wednesday night. We chat about the impactful return of Ben White, Mikel Merino's goal and his crazy stats in 2025, as well as his position in the team. Is he now a centre-forward more than a repurposed midfielder? There's discussion of the goals we scored, how Brentford made life difficult for us in the second half, David Raya's incredible save, as well as more injury concerns after both Cristhian Mosquera and Declan Rice had to go off. Then we spend some time chatting about the other Premier League games this week, including Chelsea being beaten by Leeds, Liverpool dropping more points at home, and lots more.Follow Phil on BlueSky - https://bsky.app/profile/philcosta.bsky.socialGet a Goodly Morning mug here: https://p1r.es/GoodlyMorningMugHere's the Men in Blazers interview with William Saliba mentioned: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_tMQB725hwGet extra bonus content and help support Arseblog by becoming an Arseblog Member on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/arseblog Hosted on Acast.
