After an agonising last-minute equaliser in Monaco (with a fair bit of controversy thrown in), David Mooney is joined by City fan Dan Burke and, from Sporting News, Dom Farrell, to discuss Manchester City's victory over Burnley and their draw in the Champions League. Did the scorelines of each game tell the whole story? Possibly not. Erling Haaland's brace against Burnley made him the Premier League's top-scoring Norwegian, so we take a look at all of the other players that have played City who are their country's leading marksman in the top flight (and we discuss some of our favourite goals by them). Then, as City travel to Brentford, before the international break, we hear from Mike Johnston from The Ealing Road podcast to find out about their start to the season - plus we look ahead to the match and what we want to see from Pep Guardiola's side. We also take some time out to mention some awful refereeing decisions from the past, plus look at Bernardo Silva's pre-match comments about his future.

Marco Silva has overtaken Chris Coleman for longevity in Fulham's dugout, and his tenure for the Cottagers has been nothing short of brilliant. From getting the West London side promoted to making them a mainstay in the Premier League - he has quietly ensured that Fulham fans have never had to look over their shoulder. Despite a rather subdued transfer window, Fulham continue to prevail in the top flight, which begs the question as to whether Silva himself is Tony Khan's best asset... Plus, ahead of the visit of Fulham on Friday night, AFC Bournemouth have lodged a planning application for the enabling works for their expansion of the Vitality Stadium, which the club said is key to achieve the goal of European football by 2030. Our latest Bournemouth Briefing goes over the latest stadium updates, which also confirm that the council has agreed that some critical land in Kings Park, essential for the project, can be transferred to AFC Bournemouth on a lease rather than a freehold transfer as a part of the club's Vitality Stadium expansion plans. After two miserable losses on the bounce for Liverpool, Jim Boardman and Jay Reid try to keep spirits up on this week's Scouser Tommies. They share their views on where things have gone wrong for the Reds since opening up that five point gap at the top of the Premier League, also remembering they are actually still top of the table! For Jay and Jim it's not so much one major flaw that needs fixing as perhaps a list of smaller problems where tweaks, and maybe some patience, are required. For Jay there's a question mark about whether the sides Slot is putting out have enough leaders, and identifies at least one spot in the side where that might make a difference. Listen in as the duo discuss their thoughts on what's changed between this season and last, the defeats coming after a run of wins that some are describing as lucky. For Jim one major flaw isn't so much about conceding goals, it's more about being unable to create enough quality chances for what is on paper a mouthwatering array of attacking options. Attention turns to the weekend's Chelsea clash, a chance to stop this blip turning into something more before yet another international break. A win would restore so much confidence in the camp, and Jim and Jay both urge a return to basics this weekend before using that international break to dig deep and study the details of Liverpool's recent difficulties. If anyone at the club tunes in they'll hear views on everything from selection dilemmas at right-back to the challenge of getting the best out of Mo Salah and Cody Gakpo, not to mention the new boys. It's a search for answers along with honest reflections on the midfield shuffle and how small tweaks, not wholesale changes, could help Liverpool get back to winning ways. As bad as it might seem right now to be at the top of the Premier League table, and still on course to finish in the all important top 24 of the Champions League mad League phase, as has been pointed out on the show many a time, there's always a way to help cheer up. Because there's always Everton. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

The Cannon Stats podcast is back and the mood in Arsenal land is positive with Arsenal closing the gap on Liverpool while slaying two bogey teams in the process. Things are looking up for Arsenal, while they are looking down for Liverpool who are hitting their first patch of adversity under Arne Slot. Adam and Scott are together here talking about the standout performances from Arsenal's matches against Newcastle and Olympiacos. There is a lot of good overlap and positives to take from both games. The second part of the episode looks ahead to what might be the softest part of Arsenal's schedule all season after they made it through the rough opening set of fixtures. Arsenal's Next five is West Ham (H), Fulham (A), Crystal Palace (H), Burnley (A), and Sunderland (A) before the November international break. There are no easy matches in the Premier League, but this might be the least challenging overall. This is also a chance to pick up points on what Arsenal did last season, where they managed just 8 points from these five, losing twice and drawing one. What makes this especially tantalizing is that this “easy” run corresponds with Liverpool and Manchester City looking at some challenging fixtures. The next five matches are shaping up as a major opportunity for Arsenal to potentially take the lead in the Premier League, and if things break right, maybe even open up a bit of a gap. That all starts this weekend with Arsenal hosting West Ham and their new manager. On 'One on One' this week, the Arsenal Manager, Mikel Arteta, takes us into his first dressing room as a 16-year-old at Barcelona and reveals how senior players, Pep Guardiola and Luis Enrique, took him under their wing. He contrasts his experiences with those of his young footballers at Arsenal, with the likes of 15-year-old Max Dowman making the first team. Arteta talks to Joe about building a culture, explains the importance of role models and discusses what - he thinks - it takes to make it in the Premier League.
