Podcast Introduction: Hello, thanks for listening to 1000 Red Gates Digital Marketing. I’m a Digital Marketing Manager with over 10 years of marketing experience who has worked for clients such as Nike, Air Jordan, and Adidas. I decided to start this channel after a childhood friend asked me for professional advice on what kind of marketing strategy he should implement for growing traffic to a website he purchased from a marketplace made for buying and selling online businesses. As a first time buyer of an online business, my friend had little to no experience when it comes to generating traffic to a website and so I helped him develop a marketing strategy that increased his website traffic and generated him $300,000 in online sales. After the experience I found that there were a lot of people buying websites from these online business marketplaces and the majority also needed help with developing digital marketing strategies. The sellers of these online businesses typically provide little to no information regarding on how they handle the digital marketing strategies for the website. In addition, when asked on how the new buyer could grow the business, the buyers simply say, “get more traffic.” I launched this channel with the mission of helping future buyers of online businesses learn general digital marketing strategies to grow their future online businesses. The way I do this is buy doing a deep dive into for sale online business, analyzing its digital marketing potential against its competitors and providing real strategies on how to grow its traffic. The different topics I will cover while doing my online business deep dives will be SEO(Search Engine Optimization), SEM(Search Engine Marketing), Content Marketing, ReMarketing, Responsive Web Design, Email Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Marketing Automation, eCommerce Marketing, Video, Shopify, Flippa.com, Making Money Online, and Dropshipping. I do not claim to be the foremost expert on Digital Marketing but I have gained a lot of success in my career using Digital Marketing skills and have made a lot of money for my clients using my Digital Marketing skills. Thank you for watching, I appreciate everyone who have subscribed and commented. Please feel free to message me with any questions or podcast suggestions you may have and I will do my best to follow up. In this episode of IDIODC, Brent and Chris talk about leveraging the design potential of responsive design to help tell stories. Responsive design was created from a practical need to ensure that content could be accessible across all devices. More than just a solution to a problem, responsive design has actually created new opportunities to frame content and user experience – which has some very practical applications for the learning and development world. Chris and Brent will review some great examples of responsive design to explore what design lessons we can find as instructional designers. Design Edu Today celebrates its three year anniversary. To mark the anniversary Lauren Spielman and Kelly Stelmack, students in UMBC’s Graphic Design program, take over as co-hosts to ask designers Megan Gileza and Kendall Kiernan of Baltimore area design firm Orange Element questions about working in the industry. Kelly and Lauren asked a wide range of questions about working professionally such as what type of skills are necessary for the different types of design positions, what’s the average turnaround time on a typical project, and what skills do professionals want students to come out of school with. The bulk of the conversation centered around how to work with a client. From interviewing them in the initial discovery meeting to showing process along the way to selling the final design, all aspects of client interactions were covered.
Maurice Cherry, Content Marketer at Fog Creek Software, and host of the award winning podcast Revision Path joins Gary Rozanc to discuss what he has learned over 5 years and 240 episodes of hosting Revision Path. From ways Design Educators can promote diversity into the classroom to the systemic problems facing black students Maurice shares his insights. In the second half of the conversation Maurice talks about his own design practice, how studying Math and English makes him a better designer and how much the industry have changed in the past 20 years.

Glenn Davis is the creator of Cool Site of the Day; cofounder of Project Cool; and cofounder, Executive Committee member, and essayist for The Web Standards Project, which he also hosted. Glenn was a leading force behind Liquid Design, an approach that predates Responsive Web Design by about 20 years. He taught everyone how to do “DHTML” via his Project Cool tutorials. In the Silicon Valley from 1994 through the early 2000s, Glenn was a huge creative force. In a lively hour, Glenn and host Jeffrey Zeldman discuss life before the animated GIF; “perceived bandwidth;” building their first websites; getting from Gopher to the web; SLIP and PPP connections; discovering UNIX; the story behind Cool Site of the Day; the battle for standards in our browsers; the web then versus the web now; and much, much more. Carl and Richard talk to Paul Sheriff about his work building mobile web apps using ASP.NET WebForms. Yeah, that's right, WebForms! Paul talks about the problems with WebForms and how they can be overcome with some careful configuration and understanding of how WebForms really works. The conversation digs into adding Responsive Web Design to a WebForms page to make it work well on a mobile browser using Twitter's BootStrap - and also how to use WrapBootStrap to make your pages not look like BootStrap pages. Not every mobile web app should be a WebForms app, but it makes sense in some cases - Paul compares approaches to help you choose!Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/net-rocks/donations
