The latest example of New Day's innovative care delivery models is integrating a long-term therapy virtual staffing partner into its Texas Medicare Advantage (MA) business. New Day now is hoping to expand this model to other regions. This development, which entailed integrating an episodic care agency into a nonepisodic business, is an extension of the company's “burning the ships" mantra, which means rethinking business in the wake of MA's penetration, Herman said. Kaltroco North America, a private equity company that owns New Day, has helped the home care firm succeed with its belief in “doing well by doing good,” Herman said. And thanks to its diversified service lines, New Day has been able to weather continued home health Medicare payment cuts, as well as the 80/20 Medicaid rule. The company is building out its proprietary Carelytics software that allows it to handle chronically ill patients with a longitudinal care approach, predict when they are about to have problems, and intervene.Follow us on social media:X (formerly Twitter): @McKHomeCareFacebook: McKnight's Home CareLinkedIn: McKnight's Home CareInstagram: mcknights_homecareFollow New Day Healthcare on social media:X (formerly Twitter): @newdayhcFacebook: New Day HealthcareInstagram: newdayhcShow contributors:McKnight's Home Care Editor Liza Berger; G. Cognitive Space is an AI-driven solution for near real-time dynamic mission management, collection planning & optimization, and revenue/performance capacity forecasting. Through space, we can monitor a changing planet, protect national interests, provide real-time communications, and enable a web of globally connected devices. It also offers the means for human civilization to scale beyond the bounds of our planet. For the vision of space to reach its fullest potential, the traditional approach of operating satellites individually will not suffice; they must be orchestrated at scale. By leveraging modern AI, cloud, and blockchain technology, Cognitive Space will orchestrate this new space domain to bring about the future we envision. Scott Herman, with Cognitive Space, describes the problems and challenges they solve for their customers including mission management, collection planning, order management, and more. He describes the benefits of starting with Moonshot Labs and the process of participating in various other accelerators. Scott then goes on to discuss what is around the corner for Cognitive Space and the future challenges of machine orchestration. Today I’m talking to Scott Herman, a trainer, BSN athlete, influencer, and founder of MuscularStrength.com. Scott was one of the first mainstream fitness influencers on YouTube and built out one of the internet’s first real video instructional libraries. Scott and I catch up on his background as a reality TV star, how fitness on the internet has evolved, and what he thinks is most misleading in the fitness industry.I want to give a big shout out to this episode’s sponsor, BSN. BSN has been around for nearly 20 years, and they’re a global leader in sports nutrition. For their protein powder — including their partnership line with Cold Stone Creamery — to preworkout, protein bars, and more, BSN has won more than 35 sports nutrition awards over the last few years. (My personal favorite of their flavors? The Birthday Cake Remix Syntha-6. I literally hid some in my desk to keep the rest of the BarBend team from using it all.)

Michigan-based Great Lakes Caring, Connecticut-based National Home Health Care and Texas-based Jordan Health Services were -- not too long ago -- three separate home-based care providers. Scott Herman serves as CEO of Elara Caring -- now one of the largest home health providers in the country, serving more than 65,000 patients and their families daily with services that span the continuum of personal care, skilled home health and hospice care. Using predictive analytics to enable longitudinal care will be one of the keys for Elara Caring moving forward, as will its behavioral health offerings. HHCN caught up with Herman to hear about his plans for the company moving forward, including its take on preparing for the Patient-Driven Groupings Model (PDGM).
