CAN THE CENTER SAVE COLORADO? There's a new party in town and it's the Center Party and I've got Steve Yurash, State Chairman of the Center Party on the show today at 2. The Republican brand is irretrievably broken in Colorado and if we are to save the state it's time to look for something else. You can read the Center Party's platform here, and yes, it is pro-choice. I know that's a deal breaker for a lot of you, but there are a lot of other issues that are important to this state as as we can't even pass a late term abortion ban by putting it to the people here, we have to recognize that the battle over abortion rights needs to be fought at the hearts and minds level rather than the legislative level for the time being. I'm interested to hear what else Steve has to say about the party and our state.

The Governor expands his localized mitigation efforts to seven more counties, but one week out from Election Day, exempts polling sites from mask mandates. Then, the vote for medical marijuana is one week away. We examine the two proposals on the ballot.Plus, we look at how organizations are engaging voters ahead of this year's highly anticipated election.Segment 1:Governor Tate Reeves is responding to the recent upward trend of coronavirus transmission by expanding his localized mitigation approach. During a press conference yesterday, Reeves announced he is adding seven more counties to the list he introduced during his initial order last week. Residents in Benton, Carroll, Harrison, Jones, Leake, Madison, and Marshall counties will be required to wear masks indoors while in public. Reeves says this approach is the best way to avoid additional lock downs. The growing list of counties under a mandate comes as the state and the nation prepare for a much anticipated election. Despite the Executive Order requiring masks be worn while in public and indoors, Reeves says he is making an exception for polling locations. Segment 2:Mississippi could become the 34th state to legalize medical marijuana. Voters will get to decide next Tuesday. As MPB's Ashley Norwood reports, there are two proposals on the November ballot: initiative 65 and alternative 65A.Segment 3:Mississippians are one week away from voting in what is arguably the most pivotal election of this century. More than 140,000 people have already voted by absentee -- surpassing numbers in 2016. And election experts predict a record breaking voter turnout at the polls next Tuesday. On Episode 3 of the Virginia Wrestling Roundup, we go around the state to talk to coaches about the complete disaster that resulted in the Virginia High School League's decision to abbreviate the public school state wrestling championships. On the panel for this show is Andrew Farrar, the Executive Director of VAWA. Andrew is an assistant coach at St. Christopher's School in Richmond. He clearly outlined how the private school faction in Virginia (VISAA) handled their state tournament, a two-day 32-man double elimination tournament with clear communication and had no problems getting things done. On the public school side of things, Colonial Forge head coach Bill Swink, the State Chairman for VAWA and Bryan Hazard, the head coach at Robinson and the state's High School Director for the NWCA, were dealing with the shenanigans at Robinson, where the 5A and 6A state tournaments were held. Mike Faus joins the program for the first time. Mike is the coach at New Kent, a 3A school southeast of Richmond. Faus experienced the issues in the Southwest portion of the state as the 4A-1A tournaments were abbreviated at the Salem Civic Center. Host Jason Bryant, a Virginia native, offers his thoughts and we get a rundown of all the doublespeak that was going on. There were some positives, including recognizing all the state team champions, and Chilhowie's Maria Ramos, the first girl to reach the state finals in Virginia. She was the runner-up in 1A at 113 pounds. For information on how to help out the issues wrestling (and all sports) are dealing with, you're urged to contact your principal and athletic director as well as contacting your local and state representatives. Information on all things VAWA can be found at the online home at www.virginiawrestling.com The Virginia Wrestling Roundup is presented in part by Cliff Keen Athletic.
