Apple Vision Pro is an exciting new VR headset that combines forward-facing cameras and augmented reality features. With Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, it offers an immersive experience akin to having an iPad on your face. While it has potential applications in gaming, sports, and medical training, it is still in its early stages with some bugs and limitations. Keep in mind that it comes with a high price tag and may not be suitable for everyone. Nonetheless, Apple's foray into the VR market hints at promising advancements and innovations to come.

How is artificial intelligence changing the healthcare industry? Does using AI improve health outcomes and reduce costs? To discuss the use of this technology in healthcare, Carol McCall, Chief Health Analytics Officer for ClosedLoop.ai joined host Kevin Stevenson.“Healthcare is finally becoming a big-data industry,” McCall said, pointing out that there is now so much data in healthcare it's almost too big to know and becomes a burden. That's where machine learning comes in. ClosedLoop.ai provides an intuitive end-to-end machine learning platform for healthcare organizations to predict health outcomes and target resources.For example, McCall explains that health providers who are trying to prevent unplanned hospital admissions can use an AI platform to look at factors in their patient population to predict health outcomes. This allows providers to reach out to patients and help reduce the likelihood of hospitalization.AI can be an essential part of the push toward value-based care. “If people want to succeed in value-based care they really have to have the ability to produce better outcomes with a much higher degree of precision. They have to be able to anticipate when something bad might happen because you can't prevent what you can't predict.” McCall said.Stevenson and Carrol delve into various use case scenarios for AI platforms from the coordinated care of ACOs to assessing specific risks of patient populations and integrating data for more predictive power. “Data and analytics are really becoming the center of healthcare,” Mcaall said.

Throughout the interview, they discuss the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on business and society. Mears shares how the current health pandemic has affected her professional life and how she is adapting to new circumstances. Mears has been part of the leadership teams for a Fortune 10 business and a couple of Fortune 100 companies, driving market research, innovation, and marketing. She's also worked for and managed a number of startups and helped many of them launch, including a couple of her own. Today, Mears ghost-writes for countless clients, helping them tell their stories. In her spare time, she runs a podcast, Women-in-Tech LIKE A BOSS on the Grit Daily News Channel, where she supplies weekly Monday motivation and Friday wine columns, among other content that features femTech and the achievements of its founders plus investors. Two novels have been published under Mears' name. Her first, “One Sip at a Time: a Memoir,” won the 2018 US National Indie Book Gold Medal. “Covid-19: The Battle for Humanity” is her second novel. Mears earned a PhD in molecular biology from Queen's University and a Masters in physiology from the University of Toronto.

It sounds like the setup to a bad joke: Three couples walk into a fertility clinic. But the punch line—what happened to those families at one Los Angeles medical facility in August 2018—is no laughing matter. The embryos from two couples hoping to conceive were mistakenly implanted into a third patient. That third woman and her husband, both of Korean descent, suspected that something was amiss when their two newborns didn't look anything like them.
