Hello Kindred Spirits! Thanks for joining us here in the Show Notes. Thank you for your constant support! In this episode, you can very obviously hear an example of "pregnancy brain" from Brooke as she expresses a lot of confusion regarding whether or not she already talked about The Guide by Peter Heller. It's funny because the literal episode before this one is titled "Don't Pair The Guide with Station Eleven" So obviously...she did. Please forgive her. It is not an easygoing task creating life. As Pentecostal Christians, we believe that the Holy Spirit empowers us to build a community of faith that transcends generational boundaries. The Bible tells us that the older generation has wisdom and experience to share, while the younger generation has energy and fresh perspectives. When these two groups come together, amazing things can happen! Throughout this episode, we will explore why connecting generations is so crucial to the growth and health of the church, as well as some of the challenges that can arise when trying to bridge the gap between different age groups. We'll also discuss practical strategies for building relationships across generational lines, and share stories of how these connections have made a difference in the lives of those involved.
This week, we're joined by author of Rabbits, CEO of Minnow Beats Whale, and co-creator of The Black Tapes, Terry Miles. Miles explains the origins of The Black Tapes, the playful interactivity fictional podcasts afford creators and audiences, and the worldbuilding required for people to become fully immersed in a story. How do people respond to a paranormal version of Serial? In what ways does it mirror audience's first interactions with Orson Welles' 1938 War of the Worlds radio broadcast? Then, Miles discusses Rabbits: Why do alternate reality games feel appropriate for our digital moment? When experience and time flatten, why can the world feel like an ARG, itself?About Terry Miles:Terry Miles is an award-winning Writer/Director/Producer who was born among the wheat fields in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, raised in the plains beneath the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, and forged by rain in the deep emerald gloom of the Pacific Northwest. He's a novelist, filmmaker, podcaster and the CEO and founder of Minnow Beats Whale. As Writer/Director/Producer, Terry's had three feature films premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, and has been nominated for ten Leo Awards (Producing, Writing, Directing, Editing, and Cinematography). Terry created his first few podcasts in 2006, but soon movies took over. Just about a decade later, he founded The Public Radio Alliance which features the hit podcasts: TANIS, RABBITS, and The Last Movie. He also co-created The Black Tapes Podcast and directed a western starring Donald Sutherland and Christian Slater, an action movie starring Steve Austin, Danny Trejo and Serinda Swan, and more. He's also written and directed numerous award-winning short films, web series, and alternate reality games.Show Notes and Resources:The Black TapesTanisRabbitsWar of the Worlds - Orson Welles (1938)Strand InstituteCicada 3301Gravity's RainbowThe GameThe New Hollywood Hosted on Acast. Wie gäre liest an awer och mol fir Stonnen an e Computerspill andauche wëll – fir deen hu mir eventuell dat passend Buch. „Rabbits“ vum Terry Miles erzielt nämlech d'Geschicht vun engem Real Time Adventure Game an deem den Asaz net manner ass wéi dat eegent Liewen. Den amerikaneschen Auteur ass och Filmproduzent an huet eng Rei Podcast-Serië kreéiert, dorënner Rabbits, aus där elo dëst Buch enstanen ass. D'Tiffany Saska huet d'Buch fir eis gelies.
Episode 12: The ETE Crew goes on a ride through the multiverse while exploring alternative reality games and conspiracy theories as they relate to Terry Miles's book Rabbits. “You play and never tell” is the first rule of the alternate reality game known as Rabbits. The game may be as old as society and was once only referred to in numbered iterations. The game also may very well hold the fabric of reality in place. . . It is dark and dangerous in the rabbit hole. Tonight we chat about those "hidden gems" and where to find that NEXT creative musical force. Little bit of local Detroit taste, and a bunch of busking in foreign lands. Where will the next great musical talent come from? We don't know but here's some tidbits on how to find stuff you might like. Carmel Liburdi, Terry Miles, Natasha Jenkins, Allie Sherlock, Messer Chups, Material Issue, Tragically Hip, Slowdive, Shakey Graves, Doves, PumaRosa, Blue Diamonds - all sorts of bands to look for - then follow into the rabbit hole for that possible next cool thing. Trust us - we have no idea - go find that great next band before we do. Thanks for stopping by. Pour me another brother.

Paul Bae is one of the more prominent creators of fiction podcasts. Since 2015, he co-created The Black Tapes (with Terry Miles), created the anthology series The Big Loop, directed a podcast project from Marvel, and has two shows in development for Spotify. Paul is also part of a growing cadre of podcast creators that’s finding work in Hollywood, with a few television opportunities bubbling up on the horizon. A lot is happening for him, and he’s come a long way to get to this point. This week, Nick talks to Paul — a former actor, stand-up comedian, and preacher — about how he made his way into podcasting… and back into the entertainment business. Tonight on the Sonic Society we settle into episode three of the incredible new smash hit The Black Tapes Podcast, with thanks to Paul Bae and Terry Miles and their crew. Sit back and enjoy. And as if to get into the spirit, there was something rather weird in the recording of this introduction. Pro Tools stopped with an error. On the end of the cut was a strange message. With a mandate to adopt cloud to cut costs, the team at Intrado (formerly known as West Corporation) found themselves stuck in early 2018. They had 600-700 application instances on the Pivotal Platform, but that was far from their projected goal. Why were they stuck? Terry Miles, platform owner at Intrado, describes it as the "last mile" issues, including workflows and processes. How did Intrado triple the number of application instances on the platform in the next year? In this episode you'll hear Terry and Jason Nash, Product Engineering Manager at Intrado, describe how they identified blockers and "broke the dam."
