Way back when, we were younger travelers looking to save money as much as possible and travel more. This meant sometimes booking inconvenient flights, flying home before work the next day, etc. Now in our mid-30s, we noticed that there are a lot of things we used to do in travel that we rarely do anymore. As we all grow and change, so too do our travel styles. For instance, I was a budget backpacker who stayed in hostels in my early 20s. I don't do that anymore. And yes, we'll spend $200+ extra for a flight with 1 layover versus 2. Perhaps its age/wisdom or perhaps we do have a bit more income than in our 20s. Either way, these are things we used to do in travel that we don't do nearly as much these days. What changes have you noticed you've made in travel over the years? I wrote a Substack about this here too: https://worldwidehoneymoon.substack.com/p/things-i-never-do-while-traveling Check us out on Substack: Follow for updates, free and paid posts, and exclusive podcast episodes! Welcome to Episode 19 to The Unravelling Travelling Podcast! In this episode we debate which countries make the list of the best countries we have visited for backpacking. How to define backpacking is up for interpretation, but to us backpacking is about travelling efficiently on a budget, with very little luggage for a prolonged amount of time. It often requires you to stay in cheap accommodation, eat cheap food and drink cheap booze. This means that you can travel for longer and touch down in more countries. With this in mind, we've managed to narrow down our list to our five favourites. From interrailing around European cities to staying in cheap Asian hostels, this episode covers a range of places around the world. So chuck your backpack on and get yourself settled in for the latest episode! Thanks for listening and we hope you enjoy!Instagram - www.instagram.com/unravellingtravellingpodcast
