At the start of October 2024 Uffie and Princess Superstar did their first back-to-back DJ set at Nitsa in Barcelona, as part of Nitsa's 30th anniversary celebrations. I caught up with them for a Line Noise interview that proved an absolute riot. We talked about everything from Saltburn to ska, MySpace to Charli XCX. I hope you enjoy it. Line Noise comes with the support of Cupra.

Uffie is known for hits during the bloghaus movement, now peak indiesleaze but we're going very strong. You know her from ‘ADD SUV' featuring Pharrell Williams and ‘Pop The Glock' from ‘Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans' off of Ed Banger but have you heard of ‘cool' off her new album ‘Sunshine Factory' on Chaz Bear's Company Records? Whole record hits including the interlude with Peaches. We love Peaches. Uffie has collaborated with Charli XCX, Justice, and The Blessed Madonna. We caught her set at Fool's Gold 15th anniversary at the legendary Webster Hall one of the venues of where it all started. Loved her coming out with Doss for ‘Drugs.' It's Ufficial, Uffie's here. Please welcome Uffie to Wear Many Hats. instagram.com/uffieufficial instagram.com/wearmanyhatswmh instagram.com/rashadrastam rashadrastam.com wearmanyhats.com

Note, this is a rewind of an episode from 2021 to mark our second Indie Sleaze night on September 29th in Workman's Cellar. You may have heard of the term Indie Sleaze lately. A term newly coined to describe a nostalgic trend of post-Y2K era of culture and aesthetics of indie music and parties that crossed cities and continents.Niall and Andrea are talking indie-rock, blog house, nu-rave, electro-clash and the alternative scene of the years of 2004 to 2012 that gave us the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Crystal Castles, CSS, Uffie, MGMT, New Young Pony Club, MIA, Hipster Runoff, Mashups, The Cobrasnake's hedonistic flash photography, Dublin clubs like Antics and spawned an Indie Sleaze instagram account. So how are Gen Z co-opting the vibe of the era and is the Indie Sleaze trend just a Tik-Tok-enabled churn in nostalgia economy?Plus, Louise McSharry, host of the new topical news podcast Catch Up, drops in to talk about her experiences of indie, electro and alternative of that time, the fashion and the tunes she still loves, and why she wants to start a club night in the era's honour.* Support Nialler9 on Patreon for extra persk.Show notesOur Indie Sleaze night with guest DJ Louise McSharry.Follow Nialler9 on Insta | Twitter | Youtube | SpotifySubscribe to Andrea Cleary's Ghost newsletter. This week, we take a break from our normal format (where we ask celebrities what they want to learn more about before pairing them with an expert on that subject). Instead, V Magazine's PRIDE cover star Kim Petras joins fellow musician, the very iconic Uffie, to discuss their respective careers and the shifting archetype of a pop star. Specifically, who can be a pop star in 2022 who wouldn't have been previously "accepted?" How do you balance commercial success with artistic freedom? And why is Kim so damn obsessed with gay clubs? V Wanna Know was created and is hosted by Mathias Rosenzweig The show is produced by Ryan Killian Krause and Mathias Rosenzweig Our editors are Citizens of Sound
Uffie (@uffieufficial) is the queen of bloghouse. She first took the music scene by storm at just 16 years old, when she released her monster hit, "Pop the Glock". Everyone wanted a piece of her, yet she was still a kid herself. Despite having to grow up fast, this mother-of-two is no victim — she is wise beyond her years and is still making music that makes us smile and dance our ass off. Ahead of her highly-anticipated new album, Sunshine Factory, enjoy this candid chat with our legendary friend, and grab your copy of Sunshine Factory starting May 20th! @funforeverpod @nataliealcala @ericahair #funforeverpodcast Cover photo by @monica.henriquez --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/funforever/support
You may have heard of the term Indie Sleaze lately. A term newly coined to describe a nostalgic trend of post-Y2K era of culture and aesthetics of indie music and parties that crossed cities and continents. Niall and Andrea are talking indie-rock, blog house, nu-rave, electro-clash and the alternative scene of the years of 2004 to 2012 that gave us the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Crystal Castles, CSS, Uffie, MGMT, New Young Pony Club, MIA, Hipster Runoff, Mashups, The Cobrasnake's hedonistic flash photography, Dublin clubs like Antics and spawned an Indie Sleaze instagram account. So how are Gen Z co-opting the vibe of the era and is the Indie Sleaze trend just a Tik-Tok-enabled churn in nostalgia economy? Plus, Louise McSharry, host of the new topical news podcast Catch Up, drops in to talk about her experiences of indie, electro and alternative of that time, the fashion and the tunes she still loves, and why she wants to start a club night in the era's honour. As broadcast October 5, 2021 with a sensible amount of extra music for you circumspect podcast travelers. We welcome Prince Paolo back to the studio for the first time in "almost a month" after a couple of weeks of holidays and then a quarantine bit last week, but nothing can stop the inanity and audio insanity that is our Under The Radar indie weekly. We start remembering this date in 1975 when the original members of Bob Marley & The Wailers played together for the final time at a festival put together by Stevie Wonder.
