In this thought-provoking episode of Skin Anarchy, Dr. Ben Johnson, founder of Osmosis Skincare, returns to challenge everything you think you know about skincare. From overprescribed medications to the obsession with exfoliation, Dr. Johnson breaks down why the industry's go-to methods might be doing more harm than good.He takes us behind the scenes of traditional dermatology, calling out harsh treatments like antibiotics, Accutane, and peels that treat symptoms but ignore root causes. Instead, he promotes a whole-body approach—one that starts with gut health, hormonal balance, and inflammation control. One standout topic? The exfoliation myth. Dr. Johnson explains why that post-peel “glow” might actually be trauma, not health. Rather than stripping the skin, he advocates for strengthening it—protecting the barrier, supporting circulation, and embracing intelligent ingredients that nourish rather than inflame. The conversation also rethinks cleansing, highlighting Osmosis's Purify Cleanser as a model for how skincare can be both gentle and effective. Plus, Dr. Johnson shares new insights into the gut-skin axis, the post-COVID microbiome shift, and how popular supplements might be contributing to skin issues like SIBO and H. pylori flares. If you're tired of the same old skincare advice, this episode offers a refreshing, science-driven alternative. It's not just about looking good—it's about helping your skin function as it was meant to. We ask pertinent questions about how management can invest in their teams and what are the benefits of doing so. Tobias and Raad also give our listeners food for thought concerning the current hospitality challenges and why it is vital to attract new talents and make sure that the employment atmosphere is conducive to retention. We discuss employee perks and benefits and how these should be clear and attractive for staff. Tobias and Raad also give their insights into why some employees quit and how the hospitality industry should be attentive to this negative trend. Tobias Cornet is the Managing Director of The Right Balance and from the age of 14, Tobias worked in hotels and restaurants back home in Germany. After completing his degree in Hotel Management, he worked in Front Office roles for Hilton Hotels in Munich and Frankfurt. Tobias then joined TSA as a Performance Consultant, where he trained and coached Front Office and Reservation teams on upselling and cross-selling in more than 100 hotels across 4 continents. After almost 10 years travelling and training, he decided it was time for a new approach towards upselling. ‘One size fits all' simply no longer worked, sales training needed to be more tailored and the consulting more personalised. He set up The Right Balance to help hotels in EAME across all their revenue generating departments to increase sales, enhance guest experiences and boost their team's skills & motivation. As Managing Director, Tobias divides his time between looking after his team of Consultants, developing training programs, growing the business, and continues to deliver training to stay in touch with latest hotel trends. After 4 years of extensive traveling and training, Raad had a rare opportunity to take over a wine bar in Frankfurt. The wine bar was a success, and business was going well until the pandemic hit. The continued uncertainty in the industry was the catalyst for Raad to sell off the bar and go back to the vocation he enjoyed most, training and consulting. Raad joined the Right Balance in 2021, enjoying the variety that this role provides, meeting and training amazing people from the hotel industry and getting to explore exciting destinations and savour the taste of new cultures. He also appreciates the work-life balance his job brings, enjoying long walks with his dog Bobby and training a youth football team.

When it comes to tax deductions and business expenses, business owners can often fall into two extreme mindsets, either trying to deduct everything under the sun or being too conservative and missing out on legitimate tax savings. In this episode, Danielle Hayden, CEO and founder of Kickstart Accounting, Inc., and Kelsey Chester, Kickstart's Lead Account Manager, break down tax deductions in a way that's clear and strategic. They'll walk you through what truly qualifies as a business expense, how to avoid common tax mistakes, and why smart financial planning is about more than just lowering your tax bill, while still claiming the savings you deserve. Key Takeaways: Understand the “Ordinary & Necessary” Rule: The IRS allows deductions for expenses that are common in your industry and essential for running your business. If you can clearly explain the expense's purpose in an audit, you're likely in the clear! Avoid IRS Red Flags: Overspending on out-of-the-ordinary purchases or misclassifying personal expenses as business ones can trigger unwanted IRS attention. Your Business's Health & Goals Matter: Trying to write off too many personal expenses can hurt your ability to get business loans or sell your company later. Separate Business & Personal Finances: Keep all business expenses on a business account or card to ensure clean, organized records. Your bookkeeper can only track and make deductions based on what they see in your business accounts. Smart Travel Deductions: Business travel is deductible, but the primary purpose must be work-related. A "board meeting" at Disney with your family? Not so much. Invest in the Right Money Team: Your bookkeeper, accountant, and tax strategist should be working to keep your finances organized, tax-efficient, and strategically planned all year long, not just at tax time. Think Long-Term with Tax Strategy: Lowering your tax bill is great, but don't do it at the expense of your business's future. Plan ahead so deductions today don't limit growth opportunities tomorrow. Topics Discussed: What Qualifies as a Business Expense? (00:00:06 – 00:02:14) Finding the Right Balance with Business Expense Deductions (00:02:14 – 00:05:37) The Importance of Paying Yourself a Reasonable Compensation (00:05:37 - 00:07:45) Common Business Expenses & What You Should Be Deducting (00:07:45 – 00:12:55) Operating & Personal Expenses: What's Deductible? Meet Ryan Mouque, Golf Coach and Caddy helping develop players to play to their potential. Ryan produces a mass amount of online content that is generated through the lens of educating and empowering his clients and followers. He possesses a unique depth of knowledge and experience about not only the swing, but how to play outstanding golf. In today's episode, you'll: Learn how adopting a growth mindset can redefine mistakes as opportunities, helping golfers improve and stay motivated. Discover the three essential types of practice - block, random, and competitive - and why each is crucial for building a well-rounded game. Understand the importance of refining your swing path, clubface control, and setup for better drives and fewer penalty shots. Learn the benefits of focusing on off-the-ball drills and slow-motion swings to develop muscle memory and ingrain better movement patterns. Explore why most amateur golfers don't practice enough to justify getting frustrated, and how shifting perspective can actually improve performance. Discover Ryan's “Goldilocks training” method, using extreme opposite movements to enhance awareness of the ideal swing pattern. Get your pencils ready and start listening. More About Ryan Ryan works with players to develop a plan that matches their time availability and learning style, and help them to achieve their goals. Work with Ryan. Key Takeaways: A growth mindset sees failure as a learning opportunity. Asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Many golfers struggle with misconceptions about their swing. Intentional practice is crucial for improvement. Transitioning from high scores to low scores requires focus on technique. Common struggles off the tee often stem from poor technique. Improving ball striking is key to lowering scores. It's important to structure practice sessions effectively. Learning through exaggeration helps in skill acquisition. Online coaching allows for more frequent feedback. Off-the-ball training prepares the brain for movement. Muscle memory is a myth; the brain must learn movements. Key Quotes: “Well, I think, you know, insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.” “As a coach myself, I see the value in coaching and I've worked with enough golfers to know that those who don't get coaching are just super confused and it doesn't take much to actually get them on the right track.” “You don't practice enough to get that upset about playing poorly.” Subscribe to the More Pars Than Bogeys Newsletter.
