In this episode of the Divorce Devil Podcast, Rachel and David welcome back guest Kyle for what they humorously call "Kyle 2.0." The episode dives into the raw and emotional terrain of post-divorce life, focusing on personal recovery, self-awareness, and the importance of authentic communication. The conversation begins with Kyle discussing his recovery process, how his sleep has been so much better, and how he's been navigating life after divorce. He shares insights about the challenges of dealing with a breakup, from the emotional turmoil to the practicalities of day-to-day life. He reflects on his journey of healing, emphasizing the profound impact of small, intentional habits, such as practicing mindfulness and being kinder to himself. These habits, he explains, have helped him regain a sense of control and stability in his life.A significant portion of the episode is devoted to the emotional toll of divorce, including moments of hitting "rock bottom" and dealing with the stigma surrounding mental health. Kyle recounts a tragic story of a coworker's suicide after being served divorce papers, which sparks a conversation among the hosts about the importance of seeking help and supporting others in similar situations. They highlight the value of compassion, empathy, and simply listening to those in pain. The hosts and Kyle also explore the concept of authenticity in relationships, both during marriage and after divorce. They discuss the masks people wear when dating or trying to fit into societal expectations. Kyle shares his experiences of learning to set boundaries and recognize red and green flags in new relationships, emphasizing the importance of self-discovery before entering into new commitments.Top 10 Important PointsHealing is a process, not a destination: Kyle emphasizes that recovery from divorce takes time and involves ups and downs. Small, intentional habits like mindfulness and self-care can make a big difference. The importance of seeking help: The hosts stress the need for reaching out to friends, therapists, or support groups when dealing with post-divorce struggles, particularly when mental health issues arise.Compassion and empathy for others: Kyle shares a story about a coworker's tragic suicide after divorce, underscoring the importance of being there for others during tough times.Divorce is a type of grief: The hosts liken divorce to the death of a relationship, which involves mourning not just the loss of a partner but also the future you envisioned with them. The value of authenticity: Rachel and Kyle discuss the importance of being true to oneself in relationships, rather than trying to meet others' expectations or wearing a mask.Red and green flags in dating: Kyle talks about learning to recognize red flags in potential partners while also appreciating green flags that indicate compatibility.Boundaries are essential: Setting boundaries is a key part of healing and building healthier relationships in the future.Self-care is not selfish: The hosts emphasize that taking care of yourself is necessary to be able to care for others and lead a fulfilling life.Mistakes are part of healing: Both Kyle and the hosts agree that making mistakes, whether in relationships or personal development, is a natural part of learning and growing.Listen to your gut: Kyle's parting advice is to trust your instincts, as they can guide you toward better decisions and healthier relationships.Hosted by Ausha. Welcome to another exciting episode of the Kyle and JJ Show! Today, we're diving into the cosmic adventure of Guardians of the Galaxy, gushing over those adorable creatures like Groot and Rocket, and of course, the ever-handsome Star-Lord himself, Chris Pratt! Both Kyle and JJ went in with relatively low expectations, but they've found themselves completely captivated by this universe. But before we get lost in space, there's a serious topic we need to address: eye syphilis. Don't be ashamed and risk losing an eye. Globally, there are about 12 million new cases of syphilis each year, with approximately 55,400 of them in the United States. Ocular syphilis occurs in an estimated 1% to 5% of neurosyphilis cases in the U.S. While rare, its complications are serious, potentially leading to vision loss and even blindness. The good news is that early and complete antibiotic treatment can cure ocular syphilis. So, stay informed and stay safe, just like our favorite Guardians protecting the galaxy.
This week the boyz are joined by Dustin Meadows and Michelle Weiser to chat about the 1994 seminal goth masterpiece, The Crow. The movie exists in the shadow of a tragic back story and sometimes feels a little lost in modern genre cinema. A not so great remake this year was a bit of a bummer but as a positive, it has sent many folks back to watch the original. Both Kyle and Michelle share their discovery of the film later in life, while Dustin discusses has encounters with the movie on VHS as a teen. We also chat about the glorious soundtrack and James O'Barr's original comic. Some fun tangents and previews for upcoming episodes as well! Watch The Extended Uncensored Version Of this Episode in The True North Movement https://www.patrickcoffin.media/the-true-north-movement/ In this episode, we sit down with Kyle Mann, editor-in-chief of The Babylon Bee, and Patrick for a thought-provoking and often hilarious conversation about media deception, the state of comedy, and the rise of censorship. We begin by unpacking the media's coverage of the January 6 US Capitol events, in light of the new documentary written by and starring Mr. Mann, titled January 6: The Most Deadliest Day. Kyle and Patrick provide their insights on how media bias distorts facts and impacts political discourse. We also explore the death of comedy in today's cultural climate. Kyle, one of the main creative forces behind The Babylon Bee's satirical edge, shares how comedy, once a tool for truth-telling, is being stifled by political correctness and cancel culture. We discuss the broader implications of this cultural shift and the importance of preserving humor in challenging times. Both Kyle and Patrick share their personal experiences with deplatforming and content moderation, emphasizing the role of Big Tech in silencing dissenting voices and alternative viewpoints. Join us for an engaging and timely conversation on the future of free speech, comedy, and the media's role in shaping public thought. Topics covered in this episode: - The origins of “The Bee” - Examples of politically controversial events being lied about by the MSM - Juicy details in their new documentary January 6: The Most Deadliest Day - How narratives are shaped and manipulated, and used to control public perception - The role of Kyle's Christian faith in the tone and intent of the Bee's parodies - How the Bee's staff determine what passes muster Resources shared in this episode: January 6: The Most Deadliest Day (link) https://babylonbee.com/january6 Babylon Bee website https://babylonbee.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thebabylonbee Patrick Coffin: Website: https://www.patrickcoffin.media/

Episode #015We question the reasons behind why Luminary tweeted: “Podcasts don't need ads”, then apologized and then deleted the tweet. This leads to a conversation that begins with, “Well, is Luminary technically correct? The best kind of correct?”We then weigh the pros and cons of having skip buttons in apps and if listeners are skipping most podcast ads.Tim talks about how a podcast ad led him to buy a new product based on the host's recommendation — and how it worked out well! What did we learn? Both Kyle and Tim agree that we are not against podcast ads, we just want better ads that take your audience into consideration.Practice moderation. Too many ads — no matter if they are host read or not — is still too many ads.If the advertising message or product matches the host AND the host's audience, then the ad works up to 25 percent of the time.Host Read ads appear to fit the content better because the host can personally connect the ad to the podcast. However, automated ad placement is still tone-deaf by creating a jarring listening experience created by poor dynamic ad placement and untested content alignment (SNL even made fun of this fact). The data shows that loyal followers will both trust a sponsor AND buy their product if they advertise with their favorite host.Sponsors are still the best way to monetize a podcast, even if you only sponsor yourself.Sorry, Luminary. Ads or no ads, paywalls for podcasting are still a bad idea (like we told you back in Episode #3).Additional ReadingPodcast Ads Are As Effective As TV Commercials, Study SaysPodcasting Has An Ad-Skipping Problem, TooJanuary Top 15: Skillshare learns podcast advertisingU.S. Podcast Ad Revenues Reached Landmark $314 Million in 2017, Marking 86% Growth Year-Over-Year, According to IAB & PwC ResearchThe #2 radio advertiser is also the #2 podcast advertiserQuotes“The #2 radio advertiser in 2017 is now also the #2 podcast advertiser, according to data from Magellan's podcast ad report for January. While this does show that US radio's $15.9bn annual revenue is beginning to come to podcasting (which stands at a more meager $314m), none of radio's other big advertisers are yet visible in the podcast top 15.”― Podnews.net[A Sponsor] HAS to fit my audience. [That's why I charge $90 an episode]. How did I come up with this? I felt $50 wasn't worth the extra effort and paperwork involved. $70 didn't seem enough as I have a niche audience. $120 I was worried that they may not get their money back. I settled at $90. Episode #016We explore the Kidcast podcasting landscape for a growing audience of younger listeners. We touch on marketing to children and why it's Kidcast monetization is a sensitive topic. We end by discussing the potential for creating smart kids using podcasting as an educational platform. What did we learn? Both Kyle and Tim agree that there are not enough Kidscasts.Kyle talks about how the Kidcasts world is still a Blue Ocean when it comes to your podcast production strategy. We discover how many Kidcasts are educational and well-produced to keep children engaged.Kyle raves about Gimlet's Story Pirates and why that show's format and marketing strategy is something to pay attention to.The myth that kids have short attention spans regarding Kidcasts is just that — a myth.Sponsors can monetize a Kidcast podcast, but it needs to be monitored by both producers and parents.Disney Kidcasts have yet to gain traction but could become a strong competitor in the children podcasting space over the next year.Tim points out that your first two (2) listens will be the parents. If it's good, your next 100 listens could be super loyal kids!Kyle and Tim both think that Kidcasts could be one of the genres that is a natural fit for podcasting paywalls (which is something that Disney is already considering).Tim sees Disney as the high-quality mark in Kidcasts.STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Kidcasts make up the majority of the market for children podcasting right now. There are 1.6 million home-schooled students that could benefit from podcast teaching with lesson plans by leveraging STEM Kidcasts. We touch briefly on where smart speakers fit into the Kidcast podcast equation.Quotes“A podcast aimed at 3-10-year-olds that parents could actually tolerate—if you could do it right—would be an unbelievable hit.”― Matt Lieber, GimletAdditional ReadingWhere Are All the Kidcasts? As Marketers Target Younger Consumers, Ethical Issues Arise3 Fundamentals of Ethically Marketing to KidsThe Podcasts That Will Make Your Kids SmarterPodcast MentionsKid Friendly Joke Of The DayThe Alien Adventures of Finn CaspianStory PiratesKid Friendly Disney Fun Facts PodcastRelated EpisodesEp.006 - Does Your Teacher Have a Podcast? “Osito exists to champion coffees of the single growers and grower associations throughout all of Colombia. They work to cultivate long standing relationships between roasters and farmers all built on a basis of fair pricing and unparalleled quality.”I have been following Osito Coffee for a while on social media when one day I stumbled across a post announcing that they were about to import their first ever work with cacao from Colombia. I just had a feeling there was something about this cacao that was special and had a story to be. I quickly reached out to Kyle and just as quickly had a reply back. They asked how much I wanted for a sample as this was their first foray into chocolate. A few days later it arrived on my doorstep. The absolute most important thing for me when thinking about a new origin is the relationship I will have with the importer and equally as important is their relationship with the farmers where the cacao is grown. I have seen the efforts they put in to helping their coffee producers, so I just knew that if they were bringing this cacao in, there had to be something special about it.The beans are truly beautiful. Barely any need to be sorted out and even after my very first test roast, fireworks were going off. Currently I make a 70% bar and sipping chocolate with this origin but soon a few restaurants will be using it in their desserts, and I have many other plans for news bars, hot chocolates and who knows what else.I recently purchased some coffee from them as well to learn more about roasting. Both Kyle and David have been over the top helpful. I am so excited for this episode not only to hear about why they have decided to start with cacao, but also to hear more about the amazing country of Colombia. If you aren't able to understand why you react the way you do and manage your own emotions, how will you be able to understand and address the reactions and emotions of the people you've been asked to lead? This is the question being asked in this week's episode of the Propel podcast as Krista Penner from our Leadership Development team talks with Kyle Corbin from Immanuel Church and Zach Yaciw from Village Church. Both Kyle and Zach have attended EQ Bootcamps with Fellowship Pacific and they discuss what they've learned about the importance of EQ and how it impacts their ability to lead well. Keep an eye on Seattle who has perhaps the most experience out of any WAC team. And it will be interesting to see who else might come out of the log jam in the middle of the WAC. Four teams are sitting at 4-4 and two others at 3-5. It should be fun as the second half of WAC play tips off on Thursday night.
This week's podcast Kyle and Frank go deep into the history of trapping and the complex dynamics of predator-prey relationships. Both Kyle and Frank are experienced trappers and actively trap predators each season, from coyotes, bobcats, raccoons, all the way to beavers and muskrats. With their biological research and extensive landscape management experiences, Kyle and Frank settle the argument of the implications of reducing predator numbers to improve game species such as turkey, whitetail deer, and bobwhite quail. There is not a direct correlation to reducing predator numbers and having prey responded with higher reproduction rates as this relationship is super complex. So with these research results, what does a land manager do to improve reproductive rates? The answer is simple, actively manage the habitat! If you want to evaluate your impact and make the largest positive impact on the property you manage, then devote time to habitat restoration practices. Trapping is fun and a recreational opportunity, but to raise more turkeys and fawns each year, WORK THE HABITAT! Enjoy.Learn.Share! Land & Legacy is Powered by Simplecast

When considering both the future of the planet and the future of both industry and human thriving worldwide, the renewable energy outlook is of paramount importance. Renewable energy is of vital concern simply because cultures worldwide consume energy as part of everyday life. Renewable sources of energy are of such great importance for two main reasons: Renewable energy sources, by definition, never deplete Renewable energy options provide a way for humanity to step away from environmentally damaging fossil fuels This conversation is an exploration into the renewable energy outlook for the near future, led by Smart Energy Decisions founder, John Failla. John speaks with Chris Fallon, Vice President of Duke Energy Renewables and Kyle Harrison of Bloomberg NEE about the future of renewable energy through the lens of varied approaches and ideas. You’ll receive a broad overview of the current state of the renewable energy industry, hear the challenges being addressed currently, and gain an optimistic perspective relating to what can be done to make renewable energy more available and useful in the future. And keep reading below to see some of the specific topics addressed in this conversation. Outline of This Episode [2:20] Why a tangible commitment to sustainability goals is the first step for companies [5:15] What’s happening with companies regarding ESG investing and Green bonds? [9:18] The economics of renewable energy: a double-edged sword [13:18] Community Solar: the opportunities and challenges [16:38] The future of large scale virtual Power Purchase Agreements [22:22] Utility green tariff programs: what’s the future? [27:33] Retail supply products in the renewable energy outlook [30:56] Are there opportunities to integrate RE procurement with other initiatives? [33:00] What might accelerate or slow the growth of renewable energy? The renewable energy outlook relies heavily on companies Companies, both large and small, are by far some of the largest consumers of energy worldwide. That means if companies make a commitment to renewable energy use rather than traditional fossil fuel use, the renewable energy industry will take a giant step forward. As of 2018, 42% of companies have stated both renewable energy and greenhouse gas reduction goals. Today, just over 190 companies have set target dates by which they intend to offset 100% of their energy consumption with renewable energy. Those are promising facts, which will require aggressive emissions reduction steps - and buying clean energy is one of the best ways to do so. Listen to hear the stories of companies that are striving toward their renewable energy goals and to understand the challenges they face in doing so. The economics of renewable energy: a double-edged sword Two of the most obvious and in-demand sources of renewable energy are wind and solar. Costs have come down in both of those branches of the industry, which has made clean energy more attractive for corporate buyers. But though the low cost makes renewable energy very attractive, there are difficulties to be overcome. Kyle Harrison refers to this conundrum as a double-edged sword. Both wind and solar operate at zero marginal cost - which means that in some markets there is an over-saturation of renewable energy produced by solar or wind generation. When this happens, prices are depressed, which in turn decreases the profitability of the installations generating that power. When that’s the case, it makes signing energy procurement deals in those particular markets that work financially for both provider and consumer, difficult at best. In this conversation, you’ll also learn how some corporate customers are looking at renewable energy as a risk mitigation play - taking advantage of the tax incentives offered by the government for using renewables by trying to lock in the benefits of low rates for a longer period of time. The opportunity of community solar When we talk about “Community Solar” projects, we’re referring to local solar facilities that are shared by multiple community subscribers (companies in most cases.). Those subscribers receive credit on their electricity bills for their agreed-upon share of the power produced. It’s a model of solar production and usage that is being adopted nationwide. Companies that participate receive the flexibility of an on-site project under purchase or lease agreements. Not only does a subscriber company benefit by transferring some of their energy supply to renewable energy they also receive the benefit of having a good PR story to tell to the media and customers and shareholders. Unfortunately, Community Solar is not an effective way to meet the overall energy demands of most companies. Listen to hear why Community Solar is one of the fastest-growing segments within the solar market, why there is a great deal of interest in community solar, and how companies can participate in Community Solar projects in spite of the limitations of their own facilities. Retail supply products are promising, but present challenges of their own Both Kyle and Chris believe there is a great opportunity for an aggregator or integrator to look at the total energy supply and find ways to meet customer desires to become more green through providing renewable energy products on a retail basis. So far, these programs have not scaled up very rapidly because of the questions surrounding “additionality.” This simply means that companies are eager to contribute to renewable energy development that is truly new to the power grid, thus additional. In this conversation, you’ll learn more about how retail supply products could serve specific customers well, what the challenges are for companies who use this model, and how they are overcoming them. Ep.16 - Ain't Nobody Got Time for Podcasts Under 12 Tim and Kyle introduce you to Kidcasts and how producing podcasts for children between 6-12 might be the opportunity you're overlooking. Episode at a Glance: Tim and Kyle explore the Kidcast podcasting landscape for a growing audience of younger listeners. We touch on marketing to children and why it's a sensitive topic with regards to Kidcast monetization. We end by talking about the potential Kids Education - Smart Kids What did we learn? Both Kyle and Tim agree that there are not enough Kidscasts. Kyle talks about how Kidcasts are still a Blue Ocean when it comes to your podcast production strategy. We find out how many Kidcasts are educational and well-produced to keep children engaged. Kyle raves about Gimlet's Story Pirates and why that show's format and marketing strategy is something to pay attention to. The myth that kids have short attention spans when it comes to kidcasts is just that -- a myth. Sponsors can monetize a kidcast podcast, but it needs to be monitored by both producers and parents. Disney Kidcasts have yet to gain traction but could become a strong competitor in the children podcasting space over the next year. Tim points out that your first two (2) listens will be the parents. If it's good? Your next 100 listens will be super loyal kids! Kyle and Tim both think that Kidcasts could be one of the genres that is a natural fit for podcasting paywalls (which is something that Disney is already considering). Tim sees Disney as the high-quality mark in Kidcasts. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Kidcasts make up the majority of the market for children podcasting right now. There are 1.6-million home-schooled students that could benefit from fitting remote teaching into their lesson plans by leveraging STEM Kidcast podcasts. We touch briefly on where smart speakers fit into the Kidcast podcast equation. Additional Reading: Where Are All the Kidcasts? Ep.15 - And Now... A Word from Our Sponsor Tim and Kyle explore the thinking behind Luminary's non-Tweet about podcast ads by exposing the realities behind an advertising-based monetization strategy. Episode at a Glance: Tim and Kyle questioning the reasons behind why Luminary tweeted: "Podcasts don’t need ads" and then apologized and deleted the tweet. This leads to a conversation that begins with, "Well, is Luminary technically correct? The best kind of correct?" We then weigh the pros and cons of having skip buttons in apps and if listeners are actually skipping most podcast ads. Tim talks about how a podcast ad led him to buy a new product based on the host's recommendation -- and how it worked out well! What did we learn? Both Kyle and Tim agree that we are not against podcast ads, we just want better ads that take your audience into consideration. Practice moderation. Too many ads -- no matter if they are host read or not -- is still too many ads. If the advertising message or product matches the host AND the host's audience, then the ad actually works up to 25-percent of the time. Host read ads appear to fit the content better because the host can personally connect the ad to the podcast. However, automated ad placement is still tone-deaf by creating a jarring listening experience created by poor placement and content alignment (SNL even made fun of this fact). The data shows that loyal followers will both trust a sponsor AND buy their product if they advertise with their favorite host. Sponsors are still the best way to monetize a podcast, even if you only sponsor yourself. Sorry, Luminary. Ads or no ads, paywalls for podcasting are still a bad idea (like we told you back in Episode #3). Additional Reading: The future of the podcast business isn’t advertising or subscriptions. [That's why I charge $90 an episode]. How did I come up with this? I felt $50 wasn't work the extra effort and paperwork involved. $70 didn't seem enough as I have a niche audience. $120 I was worried that they may not get their money back. I settled at $90. If it is a character we don't know, we might have to do some research, but if it is from a franchise listed above, there's a better chance we may know a really obscure fun fact. To be on the safe side, here are all of our social media links.Email: gametheorems@gmail.comWebsite: http://gametheorem.podbean.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/gametheoremsTwitter: https://twitter.com/gametheoremsTumblr: https://gametheorem.tumblr.comYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/mysterymachinexInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/gametheorem/?hl=eniTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/game-theorem/id1375986486 Intro and outro music originally composed by Zach Grill.
Let's be honest. Life as a Browns fan has been pretty much the dumps since 1999. The team has recycled quarterbacks endlessly, with no end in sight...until now. The Draft Dudes are on the case, weighing Cleveland's options with veteran QBs Kirk Cousins and Alex Smith and rookie passers Josh Rosen, Sam Darnold, Josh Allen, Baker Mayfield and Lamar Jackson. Both Kyle and Joe also go out on a limb to predict not only who they would pick, but who they think the Browns will ultimately target in the 2018 offseason to solve this mystery once and for all. The Draft Dudes are all about the draft, and they’re here to provide insight behind their year-round preparations with NDT Scouting to ensure that they stay informed and up to date with prospect-related trends. Whether fans are looking for original input, reaction-based analysis of draft headlines via major media outlets, or even a breakdown of the latest news in draft coverage, these Draft Dudes have you covered. No matter the time of year, the NDT Scouting crew is here to provide analysis, philosophy and feedback on roster construction, positional values, analytics, strategy, breaking news and, of course, the Xs and Os of the prospects. Now proud to be partnering with FanRag Sports, Kyle and Joe bring their talents to a new platform. They aim to provide entertaining discussion and banter on one of the biggest events in sports. Most of us can't even imagine how it would feel to run well under 60 seconds for one lap, let alone for four laps in a row, but Kyle Merber has done it 18 times. I wanted to bring Kyle on the running for real podcast as he is another athlete who is known for being real, sharing the truth, and having fun with his life, rather than hiding it all behind closed doors. Kyle is sponsored by Hoka One One, and is yet another athlete who raves about Hoka and how much they actually care for their athletes, like making their first priority with Kyle to get him to quit his job to help him improve. Kyle shares his emotional story of losing his good friend David Torrence just days before David was planning on trying to win his third Long Island Mile (of which Kyle is the race director). He shares how they showed respect for David in a number of ways in the race that day and how the running community has changed for the better, with more appreciation for one another. Kyle shares insight into life with his coach "Gags", one of the most famous coaches in the running world. He talks about why having a coach that believes in you can make your running go to whole new levels you never thought possible. We learn about what a week of training looks like for a 3:52 miler, and just how intense it actually is (some days have a tempo in the morning and hills in the afternoon!). Kyle explains how to build up to this level of training, with his advice for runners wanting to run some speedy mile races in the future. As a pro runner, you would imagine he wants all those workouts to be the best, but actually, trying to hit every workout, or get an A+ on every workout is never going to happen, and its safest to learn to accept that. A good lesson for us all. As someone who did not go to a big high school or have the support that many other young prodigies have, Kyle had to find inspiration from others. Now he wants to pass that on to incoming runners of the younger generation, showing the running world that is a real person, not a robot, and it is okay to allow your weakness and humor to show through. Both Kyle and I believe that more elite runners should be open with real, not only would it help individuals to follow and support them as a person, not just a fast runner, but it would help with the spectating side of the sport too. Finally, Kyle has a fantastic idea for running events, and why he believes focusing on 1-2 event areas at a track meet could bring suspense and excitement, to build a plot that is currently missing from the participation of sport. Today's episode is for you if you like to learn from elites, but appreciate honesty and being real. Kyle is funny, friendly, and of course fast, but has some great ideas for how to improve running for the better in every way. Today's Guest Kyle Merber A 3:52 miler for Hoka One One, Kyle has run under 4:00 eighteen times, and has no intention of letting up now. Kyle is knowing for his sense of humor and for being honest. What You Will Learn About What it is like to break 4:00 in the mile, and which one meant the most to Kyle Kyle's first thoughts on Hoka and why he changed his mind and now LOVES them (and the company), especially being able to be a part of the design process for new shoes they come out with How Kyle and the other elite runners felt racing at the first David Torrence Mile (formerly the Long Island Mile) just a few days after his close friend had passed away (David was planning on trying to win the race for the third year) What a week of training looks like for Kyle (even as a miler, he still runs 70-90 miles a week) and why it is important for Kyle to do 2 hour long runs Why Kyle is honest and open with his life as an elite, and why most elites do not open up in that same way Inspirational Quotes Sometimes I will have a bad race, but I will still break 4:00 in the mile, and I think the running world is obviously so excited by a sub 4:00 mile at all times, it is such a barrier that it is great for your self-esteem, but sometimes you do it and you lose by quite a bit, so that is a weird situation. It's not so much what you do one time, but what you can do again and again and again, so it took a couple of races to really prove myself. If you see someone in the street and say, "nice hoka's" they will tell you a story about why they are in hokas and how much they love them. I think that is pretty unique to the brand. I don't know if there is ever any way that you can ever truly heal from that, especially for his closest friends and family, but I know it was really good for the running community, and I know myself in the wake of tragedy to come together and celebrate his life. The people we are racing against constantly, and the people we are traveling the world, racing against, this elite running community, it is so much more than coworkers or competitors, over the years, these are people we have been racing since high school. We really do have a deeper friendship than is what is known on the track. I know that between the Long Island mile, fifth avenue mile, and a third race I did in Alaska, the camaraderie was really high, and I think people appreciate each other a little more than we have taken for granted in the past. Taking a moment to really express to one another, our friendship. Gags or Coach Frank Gagliano, he is everything you would expect in an 80-year-old Italian man from the Bronx, he is really crushing all potential stereotypes there, showing up in his yankees cap..He is a former football player who never ran track, but just got into coaching it. The fact that someone who never raced anything in his life, the fact that he has found his way to the top of track and field world is an admirable testament to anything being possible. A coach believing in you goes such a long way, everyone can write a workout or a plan, but having a coach that can convince you that you can be better than you are, I think that's maybe the greatest skill and motivation a coach can provide. No one workout is the end all be all, it is just about general fitness improvement and stringing as many days and positive workouts together. It is not about an A+, it is about passing. For the mile it is just about efficiency, getting to the 200m to go mark as efficiently as possible, and to do that, you need to be really strong. I see myself as a fan in many ways, who has been fortunate enough to come up and be able to compete in the races I was once watching, therefore I want to open up and give back as much as possible. By being a real person and coming off as a normal human rather than a robot, maybe there is another 15-year-old kid who is running by himself every day, by seeing me on the pro stage, can see that it is possible. Something that the sport really benefits from is having personalities. The runners that I rooted for are the ones who were sharing. I think certain athletes can transcend beyond the sport. We've got something super special in store for you today! We take a much-needed break from the week-to-week grind of WWE. Both Kyle and Alasdair attended shows for Ring of Honor and New Japan's War of the Worlds tour, with Kyle offering his thoughts on a Kenny Omega-headlined show in Toronto. Alasdair has a few thoughts on the New York show in the Hammerstein Ballroom, but mostly he's here to turn over the microphone to his girlfriend Rebekah, who literally had never watched any wrestling live or on TV before going to a joint ROH/New Japan pay-per-view. She shares her newcomer's perspective on the show, and let's just say Will Ospreay and Jay White will be very happy with what she has to say. Then Alasdair and Kyle answer some questions from listeners, including a whole lot on the various goings-on in WWE's women's divisions.

In episode 7 Dale and Kyle dive into why it’s so important for us to understand our strengths and weaknesses when running our own business. Over the episode we go through 3 different useful tests. Strength’s Finder 2.0 Gretchen Rubin’s Four Tendencies Myers Briggs 1. Strengths Finder 2.0 is a test that tells you your top 5 strengths. It’s backed by 50 years of research and study. This is a great one for building a business that aligns with your strengths. Kyle’s 5 strengths were Command, Restorative, Analytical, Relator and Ideation. 2. Gretchen Rubin’s Habit Tendencies quiz is a great one for working out how you might best form habits. It’s also useful to know the other types so that you can help your clients in the way that best motivated them. Both Kyle and Dale are Questioners. 3. The final test we talk about in this episode is the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. Myers-Briggs gives you four letters which equals one of 16 personality types. In this episode Kyle takes us through the test live. There’s no endless multiple choice questions here, instead he goes through each letter and gets you to pick based on which characteristics sound most like you. Here are the letters again as a reference: E (Extroverted) or I (Introverted) This is all about where you get your energy from. E’s get their energy from being around people. I’s get their energy from some quality alone time. N (Intuition) or S (Sensing) This one is about how you process data and the world around you. S’s are very practical, they like facts and figures. N’s tend to be more big picture focused, they stay out of the details. F (Feeling) or T (Thinking) This one is all about how you make decisions. F’s tend to take other people feelings into account and try to keep all parties happy. T’s are very logical and tend to tell the truth, even when it hurts. J (Judging) or P (Perceiving) The last letter is how you show up in day to day life. J’s are always on time and like to have things planned out ahead of time. P’s go with the flow, they struggle to set deadlines for themselves and will instead work hard at the last minute. Check out more info on each letter in the Myers-Briggs link below or have a listen to the podcast again. Dale did the test with us on the show and discovered he was an ENFJ. Kyle has completed the test before and identifies most with INFJ.
