Let Freedom Ring Pt. 9: Free To Live in Community By Louie Marsh, 7-28-2024   1) The Underlying Principle of Community   I REAP what I SOW.   “7Do not be deceived: God is not to be mocked. Whatever a man sows, he will reap in return.” (Galatians 6:7, BSB)   o  This is NOT KARMA.   Karma is impersonal -Reaping & Sowing are overseen by an all Wise & knowing God.   Sowing to the flesh = DESTRUCTION   “8The one who sows to please his flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction…” (Galatians 6:8a, BSB)   Sowing to the Spirit = LIFE   “8…but the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” (Galatians 6:8b, BSB)   2)  Some Signs of a Free Christian Community RESTORATION   “1Brothers, if someone is caught in a trespass, you who are spiritual should restore him with a spirit of gentleness. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted.” (Galatians 6:1, BSB)   Brothers and sisters, if a person gets trapped by wrongdoing, those of you who are spiritual should help that person turn away from doing wrong. Do it in a gentle way. At the same time watch yourself so that you also are not tempted. Galatians 6:1 (GW) OPENNESS   “2Carry one another's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”… “6Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word must share in all good things with his instructor.” (Galatians 6:2, 6, BSB)   Burden = Something far too heavy or large to one person to carry – my move last week!   I need to share both the GOOD & the BAD COOPERATION   “3If anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4Each one should test his own work. Then he will have reason to boast in himself alone, and not in someone else.” (Galatians 6:3–4, BSB) o   I must stop COMPARING myself to others. RESPONSIBILITY   “5For each one should carry his own load.” (Galatians 6:5, BSB)   Load = a normal load for a ship, animal or person to carry.   Assume your own responsibility. Galatians 6:5 (GW) PERSISTENCE   “9Let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to the family of faith.” (Galatians 6:9–10, BSB)   So let's not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don't give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith. Galatians 6:9-10 (MSG)

Whatever a man sows, he will reap in return. 8The one who sows to please his flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; but the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.…   What you want does not mean it is what you will get… But guaranteed, what you do get is what you attracted by choices you've made in your life.    What kind of body do you want? What are you sewing? What kind of wife? What are you sewing? What kind of relationships? What kind of finances?   I truly feel sorry for the girls who sleep around and are being the Bad girl, the hot chick the girl who is not afraid to “be herself”… but she will reap disaster in relationships and self esteem… the same is true for boys to men. Why is divorce so high… lots of reasons… but the major reason is in the late 50's men started sleeping around outside of marriage and sowing that into our nation.    When you sow the right things, when you make the right choices, the tough choices… you are investing into a beautiful future… if you sow by your feelings… you are creating bills for your emotions, body, mind and relationships that you will never be able to pay. They will bankrupt you.    I stood in front a group of hardened 12-17 year olds in a boys maximum jail/prison/boys home. I asked them one by one why they were in here… some with smirks, some with disdain gave me answers like “I raped a woman, I killed someone, I stole a car and hit someone…  The answers were graphic, they were hard to hear with the attitudes they shared them with… no remorse, almost proud of their actions…  When they were done sharing… I heard the Holy Spirit whisper something into my ear… I spoke these words. You are not here because you are a bad ass, and you did some crazy rebellious stunt, you are not here because you aint afraid of doing time.. you are not here because you got caught and the system is unfair… You are here for one reason. You all wussed out and took the easy way. You made the easy decision. You chickened out from doing what is really gutsy, really tough, really proves a man… When it came to read, study, go to School, when it came to treat people with respect you all chickened out… you did the easy thing. You chose to live by your feelings, by what was easiest.  Some of you are sowing the easy seeds…  Some are sowing the hard seeds… And some of us are now reaping the fruit of those in full.                      How to be a man March 26th GRUB@ 6:45, MTG @7:15 HillSpring Church. It seems to be either a constant struggle or a sporadic sprint with long periods of stagnancy in between. Is this all there is? That is the question we address today. Welcome to Run with Horses. My name in Norman and my goal is to help you Thrive as a follower of Jesus. None of us live life perfectly, but if Jesus is at the center of our relationships, we definitely live life better. I don't think life has to be a drudgery or a mad dash. God is the God of patience and joy. If we delight in Him the slow times are sweeter and the periods of busyness are under His control. The question is, How do we live out a life that is devoted to Him and still move forward with day to day responsibilities to our family and community. Three challenges we face. 1. Slow progress - we get discouraged when we don't see progress as quickly as we had hoped. Lasting change often takes time. Impatience can cause us to try to ourun God'd work in our lives. 2.Life changes constantly - our situation is always shifting, forcing us to figure out new ways to fit in the needs of the day. Spiritual concerns are often moved aside for what feels more urgent right now. Example: move to USA to care for Grandma 3. We often do have other pressing priorities - most of us do have things that are important that require our time and energy. It can be difficult to navigate a life that can feel overwhelming. Finances, health concerns, relationships all give us headaches. 4. Some face opposition from their family and friends - if those around you don't share your priorities, you may be criticized for your choices. So what do we do? How do you handle the challenges of life? Keep the focus on growing. Your spiritual journey will take a lifetime. Commit to the long haul and do what it takes to bear fruit. Spiritual fruit will take you through any trouble. Fruit of the Spirit Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.   1. Don't worry about going slow. Keep putting consistent effort into your spiritual life and you will see progress over time.   2. Learn to embrace the challenge that changes bring. You have more opportunities to grow though challenge than you do through the smooth times. Look for the lesson. Galatians 6:7Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. 9And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.   3. Don't forget your WHY. You will always have tests that force you to consider what is really important. Remember that the struggle is worth it. Jesus is working to make you like Him. The struggle is the way that He grows you. In the midst of the the trial, you have the opportunity to join His church in carrying out an eternal work. Keep an eternal perspective.   4. Remember that you are never alone. Even when the people around you don't understand why you choose Jesus. He is always with you and will walk with you through your darkest night.   Thanks for joining me today. This morning rant is the final episode on the third part of the soul the Emotion. This episode is about the law of sewing and reaping. Now this law is a law that is expressed daily in our live and the result is seen usually over time. Other belief system calls this KARMA. The bible calls it sowing and reaping. This is a LAW and when any law is broken it carries some form of consequence, punishment, judgement. These are some of the words we use to describe the results of sowing and reaping (KARMA). God believes in it so much so that he will Judge you by it. The thing about this is that you can break the cycle by changing you residence from one Kingdom to another, but there's a catch you need and have to change your behavior and if you don't KARMA will find you.Galatians 6:7Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.James 4:11-12Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?Galatians 6:8For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.Luke 6:38Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. Ephesians 6:10–18 – Paul is speaking to the Church here as well as individuals within the Church. As we do battle individually we also fight in the strength of the church, whose power comes from the Holy Spirit. v6 - Most important word in this verse: “HIS strengh not OURS”Three times in these verses Paul tell us to STAND – not fight or take ground but to STAND Firm – That sounds easy but its not in practice!BEARS – General advice is to Stand still and talk loudly. 90% of people run.The enemy is still there and can roar at you and is a threat – But we are not standing in our own strength – we are standing in God's strength.Does this mean there is no battle? NO far from it, there are many battles. But ultimately God has the victory and we know the final result!In the original Greek v10 and 11 meanKeep on being made strong in the LordKeep on being clothed with the full armour of GodThis is the same word the Paul uses when he talks of being filled with the Holy Spirit - keep on being filled with the Holy Spirit. This is key to us applying these verses in our lives and having God's power in dealing with the enemies attacks.This is not a one off experience. It is for us every day. We need to made strong every day and we need the armour of God every day. How do we be strong in the Lord and in his strength?1. Know God and know his promises.Ephesians 3:20Isaiah 40:22-31 - This is our God – No situation is beyond him or troubles him – This is our God that we can trust and have faith in and find new strength in him!As we read the bible we see the strength and might of GodThe Israelites crossing the red seaDavid killing GoliathGideon defeating the Midianites(Ever been in an impossible situation where you are out-numbered? Sometimes God wants us to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was he that was at work!)   Daniel in the Lions Den and Shadrak, Meshak and Abednego in the fiery furnace.This is our God! Get to know him and his wonderful power!Who holds all the aces? God holds all the aces.2. Know your enemy.He is a liar from the beginning – He always distorts the truth and tries to being a lie instead. He is also an accuser – not good enough, not worthy enough, not having done enough, not being strong enough, you are not loved, you are not important and that God does not love you because of your circumstances.It's not a coincidence that the first piece of armour that Paul mentions is the belt of TRUTH – Every other piece of armour is attached to the belt and so it's vital – So is knowing the truth about God so you can challenge the enemy when he attacks. Stand firm on the word of God! Quote the bible back to the enemy!2 Thessalonians 3:3Isaiah 41:10Psalm 91:14-163. Exercise your faith muscle!!We do not need to fear – we need to have faith! The opposite of fear is faith! 2 Corinthians 5:7Do we walk by faith? Often it's other way round – we walk by sight not by faith? Whatever is in front of us (Our circumstances) takes our view and that's when fear comes in – We need to keep our eyes fixed on God. When we looked at Colossians earlier in the year we were encouraged to fix our eyes on heavenly things not earthly things.Romans 4 is a great chapter on faith and Paul says this about Abrahamv20-25 - This should be a great encouragement to us allThree things to remember!Get to know God and his promises.Know your enemy.Exercise your faith.Ephesians 3:14-21Questions:1. Does the picture of the bear help in our understanding of standing and not running away?2. Why do we invariably use our own strength to try and resolve situations? A very good morning to you. I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Sunday morning, 7th of August, 2022, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.Psalm 55 and I am reading from verse 6:“So I said, “Oh, that I had wings like a dove!I would fly away and be at rest. Indeed, I would wander far off,And remain in the wilderness.I would hasten my escapeFrom the windy storm and tempest.”Running away from your troubles is not the answer, it is not the solution - It is very tempting but it is not the answer. We have to face the enemy and then we will have the victory. In Ephesians 6:14, the Lord tells us to stand and not to run. Remember the battle is the Lord's. When you want to make a serious decision in your life, never make it while running away from your problem. Face the challenge and face it head on and overcome it that way. “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.”Revelation 12:11Then make your decision from a position of strength, peace and of a sound mind. We know that scripture so well, don't we?“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”2 Timothy 1:7Do you know that Rocky Marciano, heavyweight boxing champion of the world, was one of the smallest and the lightest heavyweight boxers? He had forty-nine title fights and defences of his crown and he never lost a fight. What was his secret? Well, he never took his eye off his opponent. He never turned his back on his opponent. He could take tremendous physical punishment but he never turned away, he always kept on coming forward. “The Lord is my helper;I will not fear.What can man do to me?”Hebrews 13:6This Sunday, face your challenges, face your troubles - Stand with the Lord and He will see you through. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? (2 Corinthians 6:14-15)The dictionary defines a “yoke” as “a wooden crosspiece that is fastened over the necks of two animals and attached to the plow or cart that they are to pull.” When two animals are yoked together, they have no choice but to move in lockstep as they work. They are bound to the unilateral actions of the other. In the context of human relationships to be unequally yoked with unbelievers is, in the words of one commentary, “to be in a situation...that binds you to the decisions and actions of people who have values and purposes incompatible with Jesus' values and purposes.”With that in mind, it's clear that Paul is not saying we aren't to befriend, work with, or purchase products and services from non-Christians. This interpretation would contradict much of Paul's other writings (see 1 Corinthians 5:9-10, 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12, and Titus 2:9-10). Paul is saying that it is unwise to be yoked—that is conjoined with, in lockstep-with, joined-at-the-hip with—unbelievers, whether in business, marriage, or any other partnership.Why is this unwise? Because we have already been yoked with Christ (see Matthew 11:28-30)! Jesus is the one we are meant to move in lockstep with. Adding a third party who is trying to steer in a direction different from Christ's is destined for conflict.If you are unequally yoked with someone at work, pray for God's wisdom as to how to become unyoked. But if you are largely independent of the actions of the non-Christians you work with, praise God for the opportunity to work in ways that “will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive” to them (see Titus 2:9-10).

Philemon Week One: Love Is Always a Choice By Louie Marsh, 3-6-2022   In Troubled Times…   1) I should REMEMBER my roots.   “1Paul, a prisoner for Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother, To Philemon our beloved fellow worker 2and Apphia our sister and Archippus our fellow soldier, and the church in your house: 3Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Philemon 1–3, ESV)   Grace brings   “8For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,” (Ephesians 2:8, ESV)   Grace gives me   2) I should THANK GOD for what He's done.   “4I thank my God always when I remember you in my prayers, 5because I hear of your love and of the faith that you have toward the Lord Jesus and for all the saints, 6and I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective for the full knowledge of every good thing that is in us for the sake of Christ. 7For I have derived much joy and comfort from your love, my brother, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you.” (Philemon 4–7, ESV)   3) I should strive to MEASURE UP to God's Call.   “8Accordingly, though I am bold enough in Christ to command you to do what is required,” “9yet for love's sake I prefer to appeal to you—(Philemon 8,9a, ESV)   “required” = “to have arrived at, reached to, pertained to,” came to denote “what is due to a person, one's duty, what is befitting.”   4) God calls me to GROW UP into His Will.   “18Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.” (Colossians 3:18, ESV)   “4Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving.” (Ephesians 5:4, ESV)   NOT ON OUTLINE:  “15Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,” (Ephesians 4:15, ESV)   5) When I fail, He does not FORCE me.   “20And he said to him, “Teacher, all these I have kept from my youth.” 21And Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “You lack one thing: go, sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” 22Disheartened by the saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.” (Mark 10:20–22, ESV)   6) God's Love always give me a CHOICE & ACCOUNTABILIITY.   Two ways to move people forward: Force of Law   Command of Love   “7Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. 8For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.” (Galatians 6:7–8, ESV)   “24Jesus, seeing that he had become sad, said, “How difficult it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!” (Luke 18:24, ESV)

I imagine his marriage was like many men you know who run their home with a “my way or the highway” fist - or abdicate spiritual leadership to their wives. Their faith is something they dabble with not something they are consumed with.Well, Peter became consumed with his faith in Jesus, and it was a long painful process of suffering and transformation. He had a lot of rough edges.So, another love lesson from the anvil of a man we now refer to as Saint Peter.Where Love BeginsPeter must have been listening closely when Jesus was asked, which is the great commandment in the Law? Matthew 22:36.Jesus responded with you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind. And the second is like it, you shall love your neighbor as yourself.Peter learned this law of love as Jesus extended patience, forgiveness, and compassion.Peter slowly learned to receive and be heart-changed by Jesus' patience, forgiveness, and compassion.Peter (I can only imagine) painfully after repeated failures and do-overs began to learn to extend patience, forgiveness, and compassion to himself. Isn't it true we seem be unwilling to extend love in this way insisting we crucify ourselves over again?Peter began to extend love to his wife as he learned to live with his wives in an understanding way…1 Peter 3:7Do you see the progression?We learn to receive God's love.We learn to accept ourselves and our humanity.We learn to extend this love first to our spouse.Love others in an understanding way. Why is this such a hard thing to do?If we cannot love our wives like Jesus we do not know love.We live with others in an understanding way because God lives with us in an understanding way.Living with someone in an understanding way means:You accept them as they are. Not tolerate - full acceptance - embrace their difference. Remember your wedding vows” For better or worse I take you to be my beloved. For the second message in our series on mental health, Brian teaches on Anxiety. Sermon Notes - January 31, 2021“I'm Not Okay”: Anxiety - Brian Becker Our theme verse comes from Psalm 43:5 from King David - who on the outside seemed to have it all together - after all he was king. Finances were the least of his worries. He was anointed by God. And yet David openly confesses:“Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why the unease within me?” The question we're asking in this series, and the question that I hope can be answered for you is: What do we do when darkness comes? If you're not ok, you're not just welcome here. You belong here. And together we discover the hope and help that you need and that we all deserve. The wonderful, wonderful truth that we CAN cling to in this moment and “When the darkness comes” is that darkness does not have to have the final word. Anxiety: noun. A feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome. A nervous disorder characterized by a state of excessive uneasiness and apprehension, typically with compulsive behavior and/or panic attacks. Put plainly: Anxiety is when fear takes over your mind. Anxiety is driven by the words: “What if…” and “What now…” Philippians 4:6-7Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Steve Cuss said in a recent podcast I listened to. He wrote the book “Managing Leadership Anxiety” and he said this in his interview: “My life has been transformed spiritually by understanding that my chronic anxiety is not about merely more Bible study or more prayer…The problem with western Christianity is that our solution is too often “try harder.” Prayer life not working? Pray more! I'm one of the few pastors that say “sometimes prayer is the worst thing you can do.” All that happens is your chronic anxiety grabs prayer and turns it into another legalistic solution.” Philippians 4:1-5Therefore, my brothers and sisters, you whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way, dear friends! I plead with Euodia and I plead with Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord. Yes, and I ask you, my true companion, help these women since they have contended at my side in the cause of the gospel, along with Clement and the rest of my co-workers, whose names are in the book of life. Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Psalm 34:18"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those whose spirits are crushed.” Philippians 4:6-8Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Anxiety says “What if”, but Peace says “What is” Philippians 4:9Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Ansley Taylor: Anxiety is a thief. She distracts you from living in the present. She whispers worries that swirl in your mind. She thrives by lying and creating chaos. You try to ignore Anxiety and push her away, but she follows you persistently, inviting herself over. Anxiety enjoys the company of Sadness and Fear. Her dark presence looms over you, interrupting you when you speak. Anxiety shoves Peace away as she knocks on your door. She is the storm that eradicates the calm sea. Her presence distracts, making you tense. She follows you like an unwanted memory that you can't escape. She hovers around you, never fleeting from your side. She loves to ask “what if?” Anxiety hates the unknown but loves to make you fear it. Her words spread like poison infecting everyone around her. You try to escape her grip but her claws dig deeper into your skin and as you resist. Anxiety loves to whisper “You aren't good enough” and “You have no future.” Her favorite pastime is to isolate you locking you in the chaos of your mind. Anxiety is a liar, you can stand your ground and tell her to leave. She will not win the battle over peace. Psalm 94:17-19“Unless the Lord had given me help, I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death. When I said, “My foot is slipping,” your unfailing love, Lord, supported me. When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.”

In this message, Pastor challenged us to “Stick with Prayer.” Prayer is an action that should carry purpose. Many lag in prayer because they didn’t hear anything after they prayed. However, prayer requires knowledge, wisdom, understanding, and most of all, patience. Trusting is a key part of prayer. Regardless of what we see or how we feel, we are to pray until something happens. We are to pray without ceasing, and we should pray strategically. Pastor equated prayer to a workout; requiring endurance and some pain, but resulting in strength being produced. We are commanded not to be anxious, but to pray. Praying should be present in every activity that is done under heaven. Pastor also distinguished between prayer and supplication. Your prayers - prayers of intercession - can provide strength to other people. Your prayers - those of supplication - can provide strength to you. During this season, Pastor encourages us to intercede and pray for those that are fearful. Your prayers are God’s hand extended for other people, our missionaries, and our nations. An integral part of these prayers is thanksgiving. Pray with a thankful heart. Pray with purpose. Pray without ceasing. Pray strategically. By Mary Lindow through the Holy SpiritFor many weeks now, just as I was about to fall into a good deep sleep, I have heard in my spirit the words, “The Winter of our Malcontent”. Trying to reconcile those words in my own thinking, I would then say to myself, “You mean the winter of our discontent don’t you?" (I was thinking about the fact that Shakespeare wrote this and put into print in Richard III,1594.)Again and again the same event would take place until I was made aware of what the Lord would have me write and share with those - who may have ears to hear. For you see, the subject can be one that many FEAR.Malcontent; definitionDisappointed, disenchanted, disillusioned, frustrated, unfulfilled; disquieted, disturbed, perturbed, upset; dejected, depressed, despairing, despondentTHE WRINGING OF HANDS AND HEARTFor some, it is easier to simply live in a shell of denial or self concocted false spiritual bliss than to look soberly and head on at the turmoil and drama that the world is rapidly spinning and bobbing in.It will not easily or wishfully go away, and at this time we are and will be, facing severe repercussions for wicked choices made by governments, banking systems and yes religious institutions.All three can do good things, but many currently have chosen the ways of corruption, selfish ambition, deceptive story telling and above all, the giving away of their heart and minds to the god of this world. A god who traps its victims with promises of greater power, influence, and an adoring mass of lesser gifted humans who are expected to give homage without asking questions.These pressures and practices can tear at the soul of the discerning hearts who see more than the handwriting on the wall.  They know, regardless of a solid stance of Faith in Gods providence and care - that something is very very wrong and, it is escalating.THE FEAR AND HOLLOW ACHE WITHIN YOUR HEART Many are panicking and poring over every website and news bulletin to see if there are falsities that they can catch and prove in the wrong, or truths that they can exploit. Neither of these will help.And, the fear mongers believe that we all must be totally obsessed and baptized in fear by pouring it out to their audiences.They will feed the panic and give power to the spirit of terror that is looming large and with insidious precision.Where do apparent Bible believers get reliable information to nourish their fears? From you and me. We do it to each other all the time.Why do we deliver information to our brother or sister that will feed his or her fears?THE FIRST CAUSE OF FEAR IS THE FEAR OF LOSING PLAYTHINGS AND SAFETY.We believe that "my God shall supply all your needs," but our old nature cannot believe that, especially when we hear news from worldly sources telling us someone is trying to take our toys and life resources away from us. When we give place to fear, and feast on it, feed it, and pass it on to other people, we are boldly denying that Christ will be our supplier.If you have a belief concerning death, the end of the world, or the ultimate destiny of humankind that has no hope, no light, and you have the Church headed straight into a train wreck instead of looking at the light at the end of the tunnel, you are WICKED.If all you do is sit around and talk with wide-eyed terror about the New World Order, the crash of the banks, the collapse of the dollar, and the concentration camps and micro chips getting ready for us you’re not only feeding fear, you also are a promoter and preacher of it.Harsh words? No. Honest words intended to get you to shake off morbid living and to decide to truly serve the LIVING GOD or serve - Fear. WHAT FEAR ISFear is a harsh and wicked taskmaster.Fear will not let you sleep well at night.Fear brings condemnation and shame.Fear causes hoarding and secret self-protections.Fear will make you betray others to hide and protect your way of living and your opinions.Fear will join with accusation and destroy safe relationships, by isolating you.Fear is a liar and gathers clusters of other tormenting spirits to join with it.Fear creates excitement for those who use it as a tool to gain attention or - control. JESUS HAS TAKEN CARE OF HIS BRIDE FOR OVER 2000 YEARSHe is still doing so, and will never ever stop!Know this! The light of Christ that shines in very dark times is the ONLY light that is available. I say this because this light is on "until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts." The light of prophecy is the light at the end of the tunnel of human history, and that light is a person:“ I Jesus have sent my angel to testify to you, these things in the churches.I AM the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.” Revelation 22:16So, the darker it is, the more blessed that light is.The stars shine at night, not during the daylight.Light a candle in a room that has many lamps on, and no one will notice, but strike the smallest match you can find in a totally blacked out room, and EVERY EYE WILL BE ON THAT LIGHT! WHY ARE OUR EYES, AND MOUTH FIXATED WITH HOW EXCEEDINGLY DARK IT IS?1 Thessalonians 5 says“You are all the children of light, And the children of the day.We are not of the night, Nor of darkness.” WHAT TO DO NOWPhilippians 4:6-7Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.Tell me, what good is it to obsess or prepare to survive the coming crash or doom if you end up living a stressed and tormented life over it?You’re afraid because you don’t think God can handle your situation.You’re afraid you are going to die, you are afraid you’re going to get sick, you’re afraid your kids are going to get hurt, you’re afraid the roof is going to fall in, you’re afraid the demons are going to get you!Whatever it is, it comes from two things.Number one: You have a guilty conscience. Number two: You have weak faith in God. You can deal with both of those. Have a guilty conscience?  Confess your sin and get it all cleaned out.Weak faith? Get your Bible open and read what God says about Himself and learn to trust Him.... And pray.2 Timothy 1:7For the Spirit, which God has given us, Is not a spirit of cowardice.But one of power and of love and of sound judgment. FAITH OBEYS GOD IN SPITE OF CIRCUMSTANCES OR CONSEQUENCESFear can creep into the hearts of the young and the old, the rich and the poor, the most educated and the least educated, the powerful and the powerless.What can one do to be freed of fear?Faith is not afraid of what others may say or do.An Elijah complex can rob you of power and joy, so beware! Elijah went from victory to defeat because he started walking by sight and not by faith. He believed the wicked queen Jezebel's words but not God’s word, and he forgot how God had cared for him for three and a half years. Fear replaced faith, and he ran for his life. We need to obey the words Do not be afraid; only believe (Mark 5:36).Faith and fear are opposites, and yet, strange to say, they are often found dwelling within the same person; but where one is forceful the other is undeveloped. The constant attitude of the Christian must and needs to be,“Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; For the LORD GOD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation.Isaiah 12:2 WHAT OUGHT TO BE, AND WHAT ACTUALLY ISARE TWO VERY DIFFERENT THINGS.When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You. Psalm 56:3However, when the grace of faith is in practice, its verbal communication will be:One thing that must be addressed as well is the situation where there are believers who are currently in trauma, loss, or who are persevering through very difficult and possibly harrowing situations. Very often those who have a shallow development of the fruit of Mercy and attributes of discernment are often found to spout out well rehearsed “shotgun lines” of scripture at those who are in the throws of battle and sorrow.THIS IS NOT OK! It shows a great lack of genuine Christian Character and even worse, a lack of the nature of Christ. The following verse will clear up any religious sputtering about this, and hopefully bring a nice bit of conviction to the legalistic and hardhearted.So those of us who have a strong [faith] must be patient with the weaknesses of those whose [faith] is not so strong. We must not think only of ourselves.Romans 15:1Jesus Stood up in the Storm and spoke PEACE.He did not scold and hammer away at the frighten men in the boat with him. He did not shame them with a tone of superiority or condescending blather when he said,  “Why do you struggle with trusting Me (faith) to take care of you?”  He used moments of doubt and fearfulness all throughout the bible as teaching moments, to disciple His beloved children. We too - Can learn from this. It will be much needed in the days ahead.LET’S PRAY TOGETHER AND BE FREE FROM FEARDear Jesus Christ,I know that all power and authority on Heaven and Earth belongs to You alone. I come to You today, asking for supernatural divine deliverance from fear.I am facing numerous issues that are scaring me, sometimes tormenting me! I ask you right now Jesus, in faith and with all of my existence, please, please deliver me from all fear. I gave You my soul when I became a Christian.So right now, I choose to symbolically, hand literally hand you my problems, my fears. I pray, Jesus take these fears, and strengthen me against them! Protect me from every lie of the enemy that has come my way trying to deceive me.You have told me:"Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." - John 14:27.Right now, I give it all to You Jesus. Please deal with these fears for me. In the name of Jesus Christ the Son of God almighty, I renounce satan and all of his lies that are trying to make me afraid!I pray that you Lord would bind every enemy and spirit of fear attempting to operate in my life and rebuke it! Protect me from it!Lord Jesus, please also help me recognize if there is something that I am doing to allow fear to manipulate me. Please let me know if there is something wrong that needs to change. Please let me know if there is something in my environment or home, that is causing my mind to have fearful reactions.Help us, O Heavenly Father, to dwell not on our fears, but on who you are. We can conqueror our fears only by focusing on you. Then no matter what is the cause of our fears, they will dissipate like the morning fog.This we ask in the name of Him who overcame all of His fears by fixing his eyes on You and You alone. John 3:1–17 1Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.” 3Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” 4Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” 5Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. Colossians 2:6,7Do we have to wait for a disaster before we become a thankful person?I want to be that kind of person who delights easily because I know something that others may not: Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so.Reminds me of a plaque I had on my wall in college: "Do we have to wait for a desert before we enjoy water?" Let’s set our minds on thanking God in all things, and set our lips on a low-simmer – except, of course, we  are telling everyone what a great God we have. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving – Let’s be delighted and be a delight – both make us powerful women, all for heaven’s sake.:::::::::::Powerful Sweet Potato Casseroleby Heather Worsley  Prep time:  1 hourCook time:  30 minsTotal time:  1 hour 30 mins Serves: 5-6 Mom used canned yams and candied them in her electric skillet. I grew up on them--sans marshmallows. But I think Mom would even approve of this revisited niece-version.Ingredients3 cups hot cooked and mashed sweet potatoes1 cup sugar2 eggs¼ cup milk, 1 t. vanilla, 1 cube butterTopping:1 cup brown sugar, ⅓ cup flour1 cup chopped pecans, ⅓ cup butter InstructionsMix first 6 ingredients together until smooth and butter is melted.Place in 7×11 baking pan. Set aside.For topping, mix dry ingredients, cut in butter with a pastry blender to form a crumb mixture.Sprinkle over top of potatoes.Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.Double for a large crowd in a 9×13.

Philippians 4:6-7Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. There are so many of us walking around with crater sized emotional wounds from past storms. Denial, fear, avoidance, or covering it up doesn't serve us - in fact, it can destroy us. Today is a must listen for those of us with wounds that need healing so that we can live in the joy and peace and fullness of what God has for us. And if I can be frank - so we can get next level and chase those God sized dreams too.

This is the eleventh class on the book of Hebrews. This Bible class was taught at the Pilot Point Church in Pilot Point Texas. The following is the outline of the class. God's Most Frightening Warning Hebrews 6 (NASB) 6 Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, 2of instruction about washings and laying on of hands, and the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment. 3And this we will do, if God permits. GOD’S WARNING Hebrews Chapter 6:4-8 A 4For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, 5and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, 6and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame. Judaizer= someone who wants to hold on to Christ and Judaism Galatians 5 (NASB) 1 It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery. 2Behold I, Paul, say to you that if you receive circumcision, Christ will be of no benefit to you. 3And I testify again to every man who receives circumcision, that he is under obligation to keep the whole Law. 4You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. Backslider= someone who leaves Christ to go back into the world 2 Peter 2 (NASB) 20For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world by the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and are overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. 21For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn away from the holy commandment handed on to them. 22It has happened to them according to the true proverb, “A DOG RETURNS TO ITS OWN VOMIT,” and, “A sow, after washing, returns to wallowing in the mire.” You can restore a Christian caught in sin. Unloving Christian = someone who does not love the brethren -----1 John3:14 We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death. 1 Corinthians 3(NIV) 16Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? 17If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple. False teacher = someone who knowingly perverts a gospel tenet about Jesus Galatians (NASB) 8But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! 9As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed! False teacher = someone who knowingly perverts a gospel tenet about Jesus 6. Lukewarm Christian = don’t care, selfish Christians Revelation 3:14-19 (NASB) 14“To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: • The Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the [a] Beginning of the creation of God, says this: • 15‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. 16So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will [b]spit you out of My mouth. 17Because you say, “I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing,” and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked, 18I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see. 19Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. 2Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. 3If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. 4Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, 5for each one should carry their own load. 6Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor. 7Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Can one enter a second time into the mother’s womb and be born?” 5Jesus answered, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit. 6What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7Do not be astonished that I said to you, ‘You must be born from above.’ 8The wind blows where it chooses, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” 9Nicodemus said to him, “How can these things be?” 10Jesus answered him, “Are you a teacher of Israel, and yet you do not understand these things? 11“Very truly, I tell you, we speak of what we know and testify to what we have seen; yet you do not receive our testimony. 12If I have told you about earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you about heavenly things? 13No one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. 14And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. 16“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. 17“Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”
