Many elected officials insist that crime is falling in their districts – but ex-DOJ advisor John Lott Ph.D. says those claims are based on little lies and constructed with statistics that are carefully manufactured to show results favored by politicians – a “paper mirage.” While the FBI boasts of a 10% decrease in violence, the DOJ's own National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) recorded a record-shattering 44% increase in violent crime, which remains at historically elevated rates. • EPISODE SPONSORED BY ONESKIN – Get 15% off OneSkin with the code DREW at https://www.oneskin.co/DREW John Lott reveals the pitfalls of relying on crimes reported to the police—the majority of all crimes, including 70% of property crimes are never reported to law enforcement. Stay connected with us at americangroundradio.com, on Facebook, and Instagram. You're listening to American Ground Radio with Louis R. Avallone and Stephen Parr. This is the full show for April 20, 2026. We open with a direct response to Senator Cory Booker's declaration that what America needs is "not from on high" — and we don't mince words. When a sitting United States Senator who may be eyeing the presidency tells Americans to put their hope in themselves and their activism rather than in God, he isn't just making a political statement. He is rejecting the very foundation on which this country was built. We go to the Declaration of Independence, to Ben Franklin's speech at the Constitutional Convention, to John Adams, and to the book of Judges to explain exactly what happens to a nation where every man does what is right in his own eyes. Spoiler — it isn't good. In our Top 3 Things You Need to Know, the U.S. Navy stopped an Iranian cargo ship attempting to run the blockade, warned it for six hours, fired on its engines, boarded it, and found it loaded with missile parts. Iran calls it a ceasefire violation. We call it exactly the kind of restraint that could have ended with that ship at the bottom of the ocean. Then Tim Cook is stepping down as CEO of Apple after building the company into a $4 trillion giant in the post-Steve Jobs era — and we ask the question every Apple customer is thinking. And we cover the most heartbreaking story in northwest Louisiana in recent memory — a 31-year-old man in Shreveport drove to the homes of his wife and ex-wife and shot and killed seven of his own children and one of their cousins. Both women were shot in the head and are in serious condition. We note that the Caddo Parish D.A. had previously dropped charges against this man for shooting a firearm near an elementary school. Our American Mamas Teri Netterville and Kimberly Burleson tackle mate poaching — the growing trend of women intentionally targeting married men through emotional affairs, and the social media content that is now openly teaching other women how to do it. We talk about why emotional affairs are often more destructive than physical ones, why your spouse needs to be your best friend first, and the surprising story of the husband who came home and told his wife she needed to start going to the pharmacy — because he felt something he shouldn't have felt for the woman behind the counter. In our Digging Deep segment, we cover two major accountability stories. Senate Republicans are moving a narrow budget reconciliation bill to fund Homeland Security, ICE, the Coast Guard, Secret Service, and TSA — bypassing the 60-vote filibuster threshold with a simple majority. We explain how reconciliation works and why it matters right now. Then we dig into the news that Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche has tapped former Trump attorney Joe DeGeneva — a man we've had on our show multiple times — to lead the grand jury probe into former CIA Director John Brennan and the origins of the Russia collusion investigation. A federal grand jury in Miami has been seated since late last year. FBI Director Kash Patel told Maria Bartiromo this weekend that arrests are coming and to stay tuned this week. We talk about why accountability matters, why the pattern of selective prosecution erodes faith in the entire system, and why Pam Bondi's departure and Todd Blanche's arrival may be the turning point conservatives have been waiting for. We also take on Bill Maher's post-Swalwell confession that Eric Swalwell always creeped him out — and ask the question nobody on the left wants to answer. Where were you when it mattered? There is no bravery in distancing yourself from someone who has already been exposed. We cover New York City Mayor Mamdani's war on the rich — specifically the fact that the top 1% of New York City earners are already paying nearly half of all personal income tax revenue in the city — and ask how many times you can go to that well before those people simply leave. For our Bright Spot, the Museum of the Bible in Washington D.C. is hosting America Reads the Bible — a seven-day continuous reading of the entire Old and New Testaments in honor of America's 250th birthday, featuring President Trump, Speaker Mike Johnson, Marco Rubio, Ron DeSantis, Greg Abbott, Ted Cruz, Ben Carson, Franklin Graham, and dozens more. Not a single Democrat took part. We think that tells you everything you need to know. And we close with Principal Kirk Moore of Pauls Valley High School in Oklahoma — the man who ran out of his office, tackled a gunman, and wrestled the gun away with his bare hands, suffering the only injury of the day. This week, his students voted him king of the prom. Nickelback's Hero played as they placed the crown on his head. May your pursuit of happiness bring you joy. Oklahoma principal risked life to stop school shooter; 70% of Americans think taxes too high; 1 million Lebanese displaced by Middle East conflict

It's Thursday, April 16th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark and Adam McManus 1 million Lebanese displaced by Middle East conflict The recent war in the Middle East between the U.S., Israel, and Iran has displaced over one million people in Lebanon.  Israel has bombed targets in Lebanon associated with Hezbollah, a Muslim militant group backed by Iran.  Christians make up a third of Lebanon's population. Sadly, Israel's bombardments there have lead to the deaths of over 2,000 people, including Christians.  Michel Constantin with the Catholic Near East Welfare Agency said, “Towns and villages in which Christians live in south Lebanon have also been violently attacked without any warning. Israel has bombed areas that have nothing to do with Hezbollah.” United States brokers peace deal between Lebanon and Israel The United States brokered peace talks between Lebanon and Israel in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday. It's the first time the two countries have held diplomatic talks in decades.  Lebanon and Israel agreed to work towards ending the influence of Hezbollah, the terrorist group. Listen to comments from U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. RUBIO: “This is a historic opportunity. We understand we're working against decades of history and complexities that have led us to this unique moment. “Some of you are shouting questions about ceasefire. This is a lot more than just about that. This is about bringing a permanent end to 20 or 30 years of Hezbollah's influence in this part of the world.” Slow economic growth this year because of Middle East war The International Monetary Fund expects global economic growth to slow this year due to the war in the Middle East.  The conflict is driving up energy prices and disrupting shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.  The International Monetary Fund projects global growth to slow to 3.1 percent this year. That's down from its original forecast of 3.3 percent.   70% of Americans think taxes too high Yesterday was tax day in the United States. A new Fox News Poll found a record 70 percent of voters think their taxes are too high. That's up from 60 percent in 2025. Also, 75 percent of people see government spending as wasteful. That's up nearly 20 percentage points since 2025. The average single worker in the U.S. sends just under a third of their income to the government. That's according to a report by the Cato Institute.  U.S. fertility rate down The U.S. fertility rate fell to a new low last year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.  The general fertility rate in 2025 was 53.1 births per 1,000 females aged 15 to 44. That's down one percent from the rate in 2024 and down 23 percent from 2007. The fertility rate for women in their 20s has dropped significantly. Meanwhile, the rates for women in their 30s and early 40s is growing.   Hegseth and Rubio will read the Bible aloud Nearly 500 leaders from all spheres of influence are about to gather in Washington, D.C. to read the entire Bible aloud. The Museum of the Bible is hosting its “America Reads the Bible” event from April 19 to 25. Participants will read Scripture for 12 hours each day. Readers include Rev. Franklin Graham, Dr. Ben Carson, War Secretary Pete Hegseth, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Six governors and 20 members of Congress will also be reading the Bible aloud.  The event's website says, “In honor of the 250th birthday of the United States, America Reads the Bible serves as a spiritual celebration of our nation's founding ideals and a call to rediscover the truth that still anchors us today.” Nehemiah 9:3 says, “And they stood up in their place and read from the Book of the Law of the LORD their God for one-fourth of the day; and, for another fourth, they confessed and worshiped the LORD their God.” Oklahoma principal risked life to stop school shooter An Oklahoma high school principal risked his life to stop a school shooter last week. The 20-year-old shooter opened fire inside the lobby of Pauls Valley High School last Tuesday afternoon. The principal, 60-year-old Kirk Moore, charged the shooter, tackling him to the ground. Another staff member helped disarm the gunman.  Moore was the only person injured in the incident, suffering a shot to his leg. However, he is healthy and recovering after being hospitalized. He wrote in a statement last Friday, “I am grateful that my instincts and training, as well as God's hand, were available to me on Tuesday.” John 15:13 says, “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends.” Today is the FINAL day to see “A Great Awakening” Christian film And finally, as the United States approaches its 250th anniversary, the word “liberty” is resurfacing in cultural debates, but for Sight & Sound President Joshua Enck, it carries a deeper meaning, inspiring the ministry's new film, “A Great Awakening,” reports The Christian Post. “On the Liberty Bell, it quotes Leviticus 25:10 which says, ‘Proclaim liberty throughout all the land and to all the inhabitants thereof.' Wnck, who also directed this film, said, “I want that liberty to ring out over this nation once again in the hearts of men and women.” The film centers on the unlikely friendship between 18th-century evangelist George Whitefield and Founding Father Benjamin Franklin, a deist.  Whitefield, widely regarded as one of the most influential preachers of the Great Awakening, traveled thousands of miles on horseback throughout the American colonies.   Enck said, “It was the first shared experience across the colonies. Eighty percent of colonists didn't just hear about Whitefield; they heard him preach. They were unified by something they could all believe in.” Remarkably, he spoke 18,000 times to 10 million people in person. One scene depicted in the film shows Whitefield preaching in a coal field in Bristol, England, drawing miners from underground. He wrote in his diary that he saw white streaks down their blackened cheeks from tears. The director explained, “They were a team. Franklin was the greatest promoter of the greatest event in American history. There were many preachers leading up to 1776, but there were none like Whitefield, and when you combined the power of his voice with Franklin's ability to get the word out, it unified the colonies.” According to Enck, before the political revolution came spiritual awakening. He noted, “Our tagline says it all: ‘Before the revolution, there was a revelation.'”  In the film, Whitefield delivers a line that encapsulates Enck's understanding of biblical liberty: “Blood will be shed for the liberty you're talking about, but blood was already shed [by Jesus Christ] for the liberty.” He added, “This film doesn't shy away from the Gospel. We don't soft-shoe anything.” Rather than portraying historical figures as flawless icons, the film highlights their humanity and need for a Savior. Today is the final day that A Great Awakening is in the theaters.  Make it a priority for your family to see it. Bring some friends. I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Sunday morning, the 29th of March, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in Numbers 23:8: “How shall I curse whom God has not cursed? And how shall I denounce whom the Lord has not denounced?” Then we go to verse 20. This is now Balaam speaking to Balak, his king: “Behold, I have received a command to bless; He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it.” Wow! The king, Balak, wanted Balaam to curse the Children of Israel, but he had a direction from God, not to curse God's people, but to bless them.Today, we want to speak clearly about being a light in a world that is full of negativity and negative talk. In Matthew 5:14, the Lord Jesus says: “You are the light of the world.” We are not called to curse but rather to be a blessing to people. If you have nothing good to say about somebody, rather don't say anything at all. I want to tell you a story about two young boys who live in the United States of America. Their mother spoke life over those two boys. They had no father, she was a single parent. She worked in a restaurant. I think she held down a couple of jobs to keep these young boys at school. She told them that they had to learn. She spoke life into them. The one became a mechanical engineer, I believe, and the other one became one of the top neurosurgeons, that's a brain surgeon, in the world. His name is Dr Ben Carson. He led a team of surgeons, the first known in the world, to separate siamese twins who had been joined at the back of the head, and they both lived. Why? Because of a mother who spoke life and blessing over her two young sons. She was an uneducated lady herself, but she knew Jesus Christ and she persevered with Him. Today, let us be a blessing. Let us not be a curse. If we have nothing good to say, don't say anything. Let us rather start speaking life and not death. That is what Balaam said. He said to the king, “I cannot curse God's people.” We cannot curse people, folks, we have got to bless them and pray for them and see the good in them, and Jesus Christ will turn the situation around. God bless you and have a wonderful day,Goodbye.

Raising Expectations with Pastor Joe Schofield, Dr. Paul Hall, Stefanie Thayer, Dr. Craig Thayer, Pastor Ron Greer Guest, Dr Sheila Schuller Coleman - Limitless Faith and the Possibility Thinking Friends, We are delighted to have Dr. Sheila Schuller Coleman as our guest to share her testimony and ministry! She is the first born child of Robert H. Schuller. As such, she had a front row seat to watching God move in her father's life. She served as assistant producer of the Hour of Power and also as his senior editor for more than 12 of his manuscripts, including “Tough Times Never Last but Tough People Do”, and “The Be Happy Attitudes”. In addition, Sheila has 16 years of experience in education. She combines a love for children with a deep devotion to the church. Sheila holds a Doctorate in Education from UCI and has authored several books, including “Unearthing the Lost Treasure: Wisdom”, which features an endorsement by Dr. Ben Carson. And her latest, “Claiming the Identity of Christ's Children. A Handbook for Families”. Today, she serves as the Founder and Lead Pastor of Hope Center of Christ in Orange, California. It is a house of prayer, the spiritual pentagon for the international prayer movement, Heart of a Warrior: Delivering the Children of the World for Christ. She actively partners with 15 ministries that are being an answer to the varied attacks on our children world-wide. This episode of Raising Expectations features an inspiring dialogue with Dr. Sheila Schuller Coleman, daughter of the legendary Dr. Robert H. Schuller. The conversation explores the miraculous journey of the Schuller ministry—from an obscure Iowa farm to a global television platform—emphasizing the transformative power of "limitless faith" and the resilience required to navigate life's "bumpy roads." The "Raising Expectations" Mission and Team The program, hosted by Pastor Joe Schofield and his wife Melba, serves as a platform for leaders of all backgrounds to address life's most pressing questions through the lens of faith. The "extended family" of co-hosts includes Dr. Paul Hall, a counselor and writer; Dr. Craig "Tank" Thayer, a trauma surgeon and author of Saved: Finding God in the Ordinary; and Pastor Ron Greer, who works with Man In The Mirror to mentor men. The team emphasizes that faith in Christ provides answers to life's two biggest questions: how to live with purpose and what happens after death. From Iowa Pastures to the Drive-In Church Dr. Sheila Schuller Coleman shares the humble origins of her father, who was raised on a "dead-end dirt road" in Iowa. Despite not being an athlete or having significant resources, he felt a divine calling at age five, famously practicing his sermons for the cows in the pasture. Upon moving to California to plant a church, he found no established congregation and adopted a missionary mindset, knocking on doors to ask neighbors what they needed. This led to the innovative "drive-in church" at a theater snack bar, where the motto was "Come as you are in the family car," allowing people who felt uncomfortable in traditional settings to hear the Gospel from their vehicles. The Theology of the Seed and Limitless Faith A core theme of the discussion is the "theology of the seed," based on Matthew 17:20. Sheila recounts her father's belief that while anyone can count the seeds in an apple, only God can count the apples in one seed. This perspective encourages believers to look past their "lack"—whether in health, resources, or education—and focus on a "limitless God." Sheila illustrates this faith through a childhood memory of her father taking her out into a terrifying Iowa thunderstorm to show her "God's power on display," teaching her that faith is a gift required for the tasks God assigns. Global Expansion and the "Hour of Power" The ministry's reach expanded exponentially following a suggestion from Billy Graham to put the church service on television. Graham even loaned his production team to help launch the Hour of Power. The program eventually broke historical barriers, becoming the first religious program broadcast in the communist USSR on Channel One Russia after a meeting between Dr. Schuller and Mikhail Gorbachev. This global impact was rooted in the elder Schuller's refusal to be deterred by critics; he famously stated that he didn't care what other pastors said about him because they were already saved—his focus remained entirely on the unsaved. Navigating Adversity and Maintaining Hope The dialogue concludes with profound advice on handling trials. Using the "potato" analogy, Sheila explains that just as big potatoes rise to the top of a wagon on a bumpy road, challenges forge character and tenacity in those who refuse to quit. She also shares her grandfather's wisdom: "Never cut a dead tree down in the wintertime." This serves as a metaphor for not making irreversible decisions during seasons of despair, as life often remains in the "stump" waiting for spring. The hosts and guest emphasize that hope is the last thing to lose, and God always has the "last word," which is ultimately good. The legacy of Dr. Robert H. Schuller, as recounted by his daughter, serves as a testament to the idea that no beginning is too small for a "limitless God." By embracing the "possibility thinking" that defined the Hour of Power, individuals can find the tenacity to grow through their trials rather than just go through them.

Dr. Ben Carson joins me today to discuss his role as advisor to the USDA and HHS. The Trump administration has ended the war on whole milk. The nutrients in whole milk are essential to our children's development and the kids actually love the way it tastes. Flipping the food pyramid and encouraging people to eat real food will have a tremendous impact on the overall health of Americans and increase life expectancy, which has actually gone down before the Trump administration. In 1963 a Florida Congressman introduced 45 Communist goals, it's shocking how many of the have made their way into American society. One of which is to infiltrate our school systems to soften the curriculum and transmit Socialist and Communist propaganda. It's Friday, December 12th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Canadian pastor released from prison with gag order Canadian Pastor Derek Reimer has been released from prison in Calgary, Alberta on strict conditions as he is still serving his one-year house arrest and two-year probation for objecting to a Drag Queen Story Hour for little kids in a 90-second, peaceful conversation with Saddletowne Library Manager Shannon Slater. Reimer is not allowed to use any form of social media. Plus, leftist government officials have actually restricted him from attending the Street Church in Calgary and The Remnant Church in Red Deer because his parole officer is scared he will “rally up the mob.” Pastor Artur Pawlawski of Street Church told The Worldview, “Pastor Reimer has been totally muzzled by the Canadian courts. He has been prohibited from talking with anyone including his family, his friends, churchgoers, or reporters. It's a total, Soviet-style gag order. If he talked to anyone about what is happening he will go straight back to prison.” Pawlawski knows first-hand about these kind of oppressive government tactics. He said, “I grew up behind the Iron Curtain. Communists muzzled the public.  If you dared to expose them by telling the truth, they would do a show trial, imprison you, and torture you. “ Not surprisingly, the Canadian judge insisted that any Biblical objection to the sinful lifestyle of transgenders and homosexuals on the part of Pastor Reimer would qualify as “hate speech.” Calgary Pastor Shawn Hamm said, “The courts in Alberta are corrupt and they have been turned into a political circus! The judicial system can use ‘hurt feelings' in the province of Alberta to try to silence Christians on our biblical beliefs. They are doing their best to silence Pastor Derek, but they cannot silence all of us!” Hamm added, “The Drag Queen Story Hour that is happening all across Canada must be exposed for what it is -- pervert grooming sessions that are happening in public spaces!” Learn more and help with Pastor Reimer's legal defense at www.SavePastorDerek.com. Jeffress: “None of the government's business” what pastors preach On Wednesday, Pastor Robert Jeffress of First Baptist Dallas had a message for  a White House religious liberty panel. JEFFRESS: “What I preach from the pulpit of the First Baptist Church of Dallas, or any pastor preaches from his church is none of the government's business.” (clapping) In testimony before the U.S. Department of Justice's Religious Liberty Commission, Jeffress shared their experience with the Internal Revenue Service during a controversial church tax inquiry in 2021 under former President Joe Biden. Jeffress' statement to the Commission included comments he initially shared with his congregation on Sunday, in which he recounted how the atheist legal organization Freedom From Religion Foundation filed a complaint with the IRS after former Vice President Mike Pence and then-HUD Secretary Dr. Ben Carson shared their faith testimonies of “how they came to know Jesus as Savior” at Jeffress' church in June 2020.  Jeffress said, “It's interesting that we did not hear anything from the IRS for 11 months. Then, four months after Joe Biden became president, on May 6, 2021, the IRS informed our church that they were initiating an inquiry into the tax-exempt status of our church because of our patriotic service.” He added that he does not endorse candidates from the pulpit, but “we encourage Christians to vote their biblical conviction.” Ironically, on November 1, 2020, the same day he addressed his church about the presidential race, President Biden was speaking at the Sharon Baptist Church in Philadelphia, where the former president and the church's pastor “openly encouraged members to vote for Biden while both men were standing in front of a campaign banner in the church.” Jeffress noted, “When we pointed out the contrast to the IRS between our non-endorsement policy and this church's flagrant disregard for the Johnson Amendment, the IRS officials conducting the examination had no response.” While the inquiry lasted more than a year, the IRS eventually acknowledged in July 2022 that First Baptist Dallas “did not engage in any improper political intervention or violate the U.S. tax code.”  Despite the favorable outcome, Jeffress said he wanted to testify before the Commission because while First Baptist Dallas could afford the legal fees, most churches could not — nor, he said, should they have to do so. Elon Musk affirms belief in Creator On The Katie Miller Podcast, billionaire Elon Musk revealed that he looks up to the Creator at the 12:37-mark of a nearly hour-long conversation, reports The Christian Post. MILLER: “Who do you look up to the most?” MUSK: “The Creator.” MILLER: “What's your current position on God?” MUSK: “God is the Creator.” MILLER: “You don't believe in God, though, do you?” MUSK: “Well, I believe those this universe came for something. People have different labels.” The comments from the Tesla and SpaceX founder are the latest in his publicly evolving views on God and faith. In response to a tweet from a user on X urging him to confess a Creator in May 2022, Musk wrote: "Thank you for the blessing, but I'm OK with going to hell, if that is indeed my destination, since the vast majority of all humans ever born will be there." Describing the reality of hell, Jesus said to those on His left, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.'"  (Matthew 25:41) Subsequently, in 2025, Musk urged his millions of X followers to go to church following the assassination of Charlie Kirk on September 10th.  He also attended Kirk's memorial in Glendale, Arizona on September 21st. 17 pro-lifers arrested for blocking Memphis Planned Parenthood abortion mill And finally, ten men and seven women spent a night in a Memphis jail on December 5th, after staging a peaceful protest in front of the Memphis, Tennessee Planned Parenthood abortion mill, reports LifeSiteNews.com. The protest was organized by “Rescue Resurrection,” a pro-life group planning “rescue” actions across the country. Those arrested included well-known figures in the pro-life movement: Randall Terry, founder of Operation Rescue; Joan Andrews Bell, a longtime pro-life advocate; Terrisa Bukovinac, director of Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising; Nathan Berning, director of Let Them Live; and Dr. Monica Miller of Citizens for Life, among others. Exhausted from spending a sleepless night in an over-crowded holding cell with no beds, Randall Terry said that “this is a very small price to pay to stand up for the babies.” Video footage of the arrests captured by journalist Ford Fischer shows Terry, Bell, and other pro-life protesters being dragged away by police, because they went limp, before being transported to jail.  And there is video of Joan Andrews Bell, a sernior citizen, being carried away by three Memphis Police Officers. Bell was pardoned by President Trump after being sentenced to two years in prison for a prior abortion clinic blockade for which she was prosecuted under President Biden. No doubt they were inspired by Proverbs 24:11 which says, “Rescue those being led away to death;  hold back those staggering toward slaughter.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Friday, December 12th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Follow us on X or subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music, or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com). It's Thursday, November 6th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark and Adam McManus Nigerian Muslims killed pastor, kidnapped 20 church members Nigerian Fulani Muslim assailants killed a pastor and nine Christians over the past week. On October 28, Muslim Fulani bandits killed Rev. Yahaya Kambasaya and kidnapped 20 of his church members in central Nigeria. In a neighboring state, militants killed nine Christians in a string of attacks between October 31 and November 3.  A Christian attorney in the area told Morning Star News, “These incidents occurred even when they were preceded with an early warning alert given to relevant authorities.”  Hamas returns body of American hostage Hamas, the Palestinian Muslim terrorist group, returned to Israel the body of the last American hostage it was holding in Gaza on Tuesday.  Itay Chen was a 19-year-old Israeli-American soldier. He was killed and taken hostage during the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.  U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio posted on X, “We honor his life, mourn his loss, and stand by his family.”  Muslim socialist Zohran Mamdani elected as New York City mayor In the United States, Democrats won several elections after voters went to the polls on Tuesday. Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic socialist, won the race for mayor of New York City, and gave his victory speech Tuesday night. MAMDANI: “The sun may have set over our city this evening, but as Eugene Debs once said, (cheering) ‘I can see the dawn of a better day for humanity.'  (cheering) “For as long as we can remember, the working people of New York have been told by the wealthy and the well-connected that power does not belong in their hands. Fingers bruised from lifting boxes on the warehouse floor, palms calloused from delivery bike handle bars, knuckles scarred with kitchen burns. These are not hands that have been allowed to hold power. And yet, over the last 12 months, you have dared to reach for something greater. (cheering) Tonight, against all odds, we have grasped it. (cheering) The future is in our hands. (cheering) “My friends, we have toppled a political dynasty.” (cheering) He is now the first Muslim mayor of the biggest U.S. city, who beat former Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo. NBC News reported that Zohran Mamdani got 50.4% of the vote, former Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo got 41.6%, and Republican Curtis Sliwa got 7.1% On CNN, conservative commentator Scott Jennings explained who Eugene Debbs was whom Mamdani quoted with great admiration. JENNINGS: “He started his speech by quoting Eugene Debs, who ran for president of the United States five times as the Socialist Party of America candidate. “He went after everybody that he thinks is a problem. People who own things, people who have businesses. He said an interesting quote, ‘No problem too large for government to solve.' And so, when you think of the world that way, that every problem is something for government to do, let me just decipher this for you. “Tax increases as far as the eye can see which means the people who need to provide jobs, to the young people that you say need jobs, are going to flee as quickly as they possibly can. “He clearly sees the world in terms of the people who are oppressing you and the oppressed. And he said, ‘The oppressed are now in city hall.'” Democrat victories in other blue states There were two other notable Democratic victories. Democrat Abigail Spanberger won the race for governor of Virginia with 56.3%, becoming the first woman to do so, reported NBC News.  She beat Winsome Sears, who got 43.2% of the vote, and served as the Republican Lt. Governor under the term-limited Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin. And Democrat Mikie Sherrill won the race for governor of New Jersey with 56.3% of the vote, keeping the position in the hands of Democrats, and beating Republican Jack Ciattarelli. Vice President J.D. Vance responded to the elections on X. He said there's no reason to “overreact to a couple of elections in blue states.” But he also added, “We have to do better at turning out voters than we have in the past.” Republican leaders prayed for America Republican leaders and lawmakers joined with the Family Research Council for a time of prayer last Thursday. Listen to the opening comments from Tony Perkins, the president of Family Research Council. PERKINS: “Jesus said this in Matthew chapter 18:19. “He says, ‘Again, I say to you, if two of you agree on Earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in Heaven. For where two or three are gathered in My name, there I am among them.' “So tonight, we gather with the recognition that we need God's help. We gather in the name of Jesus to pray and ask for His hand, the Lord's hand of guidance, the Holy Spirit to lead us.” And listen to some of the closing prayer from Dr. Ben Carson, former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.  CARSON: “Lord, we come before you today to pray for our nation. You have blessed the United States with freedom and opportunity and a rich legacy of faith. Please restore the righteousness in our homes, integrity in our institutions, unity among our people.   “And thank You for Your abundant blessing, Lord. You're bringing us together this evening through electronic media. But we know You're with us always. And we ask, in the name of Jesus, that you would bless us and bless this nation. Amen.” Vatican rejects Mary, mother of Jesus, as co-Redeemer On Tuesday, the Roman Catholic Church rejected Mary, the mother of Jesus, as the “co-Redeemer” of the world. The Vatican's top doctrinal office stated, “Any gaze directed at her that distracts us from Christ or that places her on the same level as the Son of God would fall outside the dynamic proper to an authentically Marian faith.” However, World Magazine notes the statement does not affirm a Protestant perspective on Mary. The Evangelical publication wrote, “Protestants believe Mary was ‘highly favored' by the Lord, but they do not believe she has an active role in the lives of believers.” 1 Timothy 2:5 says, “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.” Construction begins on Eternal Wall of Answered Prayer And finally, constructions begins this week on what is set to be the largest Christian monument in the United Kingdom. It's called the Eternal Wall of Answered Prayer. The design for it is in the shape of an infinity loop called a Möbius strip, a surface which has neither beginning nor end. It will stand 170 feet tall and made out of one million bricks. Each brick will be linked to a story of answered prayer. Already, Christians have submitted 120,000 stories from 125 countries.  Richard Gamble, the project's founder, said, “This is the moment to build a landmark of hope… a lasting testimony to the power of prayer, preserving the Christian heritage in our nation.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Thursday, November 6th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Follow us on X or subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music, or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com).
